I’ve never actually read a series of short stories before. With this being my first I have very high standards for any other short stories I may read.

Each of the stories grabbed me in and I was anticipating what was going to happen next! I’m new to horror books but not new to thrillers and I feel like this book was a great mix if both.

The graveyard shift, and Purpose: A Dark Twisted Humorously Fantasized Disturbingly Accurate short story were my favorites! I don’t want to leave any spoilers, but i will say this entire book is 5 stars for me! I took my time reading and loved essentially starting a new story after each was done.

Maybe most wouldn't choose this genre to fall asleep to but I enjoyed reading one short before bedtime.

Each of the five stories in this book held a unique tale and yet 1X?X3 has the ability for them to overlap into the same world. I enjoyed the last story bringing in an earlier tale.

It's difficult to select a favorite. The Stephen King short was very entertaining. I look forward to that continuing storyline as well as Day 'n' Nite.

I'm not sure what I was expecting, but I was definitely scared through the stories. Im still thinking about the Graveyard Shift and will never look at beetles the same.

Was a Little Free Library find I was intrigued by. No artwork. No information. No barcode. Just a business card tucked inside. I'm very glad I grabbed it. 5 short stories in loved a couple, ambivalent about a couple, but all of them thought provoking, original, and creepy.

If you're in my neighborhood, I'll be putting it back into the universe (aka another free book box) for another wandering and wondering soul ready to find.

This collection of short stories gives you a glimpse into 1X?X3’s writing abilities. He gives a couple great traditional horror stories with The Graveyard Shift and Siesta Key but also explores some sarcastically funny horror in his story about Stephen King. This story was my favorite as it takes on what I can only assume is the author’s true voice. The other two stories, Day ‘N Night and Purpose, explore more complex themes while still staying true to the horror genre. What a great collection!

As a child I absolutely loved the scary stories to tell in the dark so I knew id love this, it feels like an adult version. I was
hooked by the first story and it just got better, although I feel like maybe the “Day n’ Nite” story I didnt find the hidden meaning if there was one. Personal favorite: Siesta Key, I was getting a little creeped out reading it but it was great. The Stephen King book was also great and I love how person it felt, like i was i the authors head. Definitely will be getting the next book.

Five incredible short stories. You'll go to read one and end up finishing them all. A promising start for a unique new author.
