Levi has finished the first term on Taryl attending the Otherworld Academy. His break has been filled with working to correct his ignorance in the basics of magic. Now school is coming back into session and all of his friends are returning. Sadly, so are the people he wants to see least.
Levi is going to work hard at developing his skills, but now he has to start determining what he's going to do with his future on Taryl. What kind of jobs can a Demon Lord get if they leave school? Fortunately, he's got a while to go before he needs to check the job markets.
With Nox, Tawny, Flix, and of course Zuzan at his side, Levi is going to tackle anything the school tries to throw at him.
Began gaming at the age of 8 and explored a lot of different ways to play table top. When I got older, I experimented with MMOs and found a few I really liked. My first job was mowing lawns as a young teen, and I worked to use the money to pay for fantasy series like DragonLance, Dark Sun, and Forgotten Realms. As soon as I discovered LitRPG I knew I wanted to incorporate it into my writing.
Aside from taking care of my sons as a single father, writing is what I love to do most. I hope you all enjoy my work.
The first book was super cool. But then the author goes and handicaps the mc’s power with a weak reason. All of a sudden the smart and badass mc is a glass cannon… without the cannon. The fanatical empire would’ve been a fun addition if the mc was running away scared with a bracelet that removes his power and makes his dominant hand go numb.. just such a frustrating thing. Mc was fun to follow since he’s smart and stands up for himself and could back it up. Now he can’t back it up…
3.5 stars. I found this one had more drawn-out sex scenes than I can be bothered to read, so I skimmed a lot. Ending of this book left it open for more, but not definitively. I may read # 3 if it comes along, but I'm not holding my breath for it.
I've never seen a series abruptly go sour in an instant. While the first one wasn't ground breaking it was a very solid 4 star book. Everything I enjoyed about it was smashed away from the start of the second book. From page one the MC's power, the thing that made him special and worth learning about, was nerfed. It's an unforgivable sin by any author imo. Also the harem dynamic was tweaked to more align with modern ideals. The girls who were originally adoring, shy and worshipful turned passive aggressive and controlling. The MC who was strong, decisive and aggressive turned into an emotional simp. Ruined.
The story is lacking, well story. It is boring. The situations are obvious and lack any originality. This whole book feels like it was rushed into publication, it lacks the creative polish I look forward to seeing in Frost's work.
This book started out on a sour note for me. They create an overpowered Protagonist and then realize that them being overpowered would make whatever plot they wanted to write trivial to the Protagonist. So what do they do? They nerf their own character instead of writing to the character they made. I just find it boring and it feel like the character isn't being allowed to progress. Plus it allows the annoying bully characters remain relevant when the Protagonist could have reduced them to greasy stains on the wall if they stayed the same. It feels way to forced and makes reading the book more like a choir. Which sucks because I thought this series had some promise but now it just feels like a Harry Potter fan fiction.
At my request I received a copy of this audiobook in order to give a fair and unbiased review.
Genre: Isekai harem where MC is transported to a wizard school with houses
Power dynamics in harem: The MC is in charge, the girls are fully dedicated to him. Explicit/adult material: Explicit. Well written.
Summary: Levi is doing his second term at the magic school and though he has enemies at school he also has a chance to learn and deepen his relationships.
Narrators Voice diversity: Good- Characters have their own easily followed voices. Pacing and intonation: Pacing and intonation supports the writing perfectly and emerges you completely in the story. Sex scenes: Well done. Jonathan Waters and Katana Jones are expert narrators and it shows. Overall: 5 / 5 stars.
The book’s strengths. - I love that the series took time to focus more on the characters and their relationships - More pets! - I enjoyed the duel quite a bit. - The narration
The book’s weaknesses. - Nothing comes to mind. This second book went exactly in the direction I had hoped and the writing is still on point.
Overall: 5/5 stars A great second book, going deeper into getting to know the characters while building on the story, I can't wait to listen to the next in the series!
I liked it. Not a lot happened but I liked the characters and I like the magic system. The one thing that happened in the first book that annoyed me was corrected in this one. I like the women he has chosen. I like his beast companions and I like the alchemy parts. There are much worse stories out there. I am looking forward to the next one.
I really like the way this author writes it has a lot of world building has a good understanding of the way different people react with each other. I enjoy reading about the challenges that come the way of the main character and his friends and lady loves. I also like the way the magic system is explained and the different things that the main character learns. All in all for me it was an enjoyable read very entertaining and I would love to read the next book.
Pretty good story, but that duel near the end was cringe. Well, the pre-text for it was. Evil students try to kill MC and get expelled for their troubles and you're telling me they get a second chance to kill him and if they succeed the expulsion is reversed? That's fucking ludicrous. As well as challenging Levi alone to duel when they were clearly trying to kill every damn person in that cave. Singling Levi out didn't seem like something they should be allowed to do. Still, i'm enjoying the story so far, and i can't wait to see what creature Levi tames next.
This is a really good read, the only problem is that it seems to have come to its end. I hope not. This is a very good story and you should try to make more of it, it's a good idea for the young readers to know that the bully will have their day. Although the young readers should be happy to read some of the more adult stuff, but you can't stop them from being curious about what is happening. So try to make more of this in the future.
Enjoyed the tale, the world, and the characters. A deal breaker for me, though, is the tentacles and "clones" involved in some intimate scenes later in the book. I just started skipping the intimate scenes to hurry and finish the book once the "clones" came out. Good books before this one, and a good book without those occurrences, but they're enough of an issue to me, personally, that I won't continue this series.
Levi your average reincarnated soul to Taryl Academy attempting a normal second life .
Levi Walker now homo draconic with his 4 beast companions an his 3 girlfriends/lover's an best friend . Have to attempt a normal second semester while enemies at the academy try to kill him at all turns until it all comes down to a duel to the death from a another kingdom from a different dimension he kills her champion to end the challenge permanently .recommend reading excellent series
I really enjoyed this one. Everything was done well. The writing, the story, the characters. Not too much angst or drama, which I liked. I liked how the main antagonists were handled. Pick this up if you have read the first book, and pick up both if you haven’t!
Really enjoyed this, did a good job of building on the story and world of the 1st book, MC is likeable and not a moron as is often the case, and the rest of the characters have depth even those that say very little. Some interesting plot lines developing now and looking forward to seeing where it goes in book 3. Keep up the good work 👍
I love the pacing of this story from volume to volume. We get to discover this world at the same time as the MC. The plot is fast paced and spends just enough time on each side character to flesh them out for the reader. Can't wait for the next book in the series.
Fun read, enjoyed the developments and the new creature he tamed was hilarious. Liked how they went about teaching him to control his abilities better. Looking forward to the next book.
There is originality in implementing the reincarnation concept along with the eternal battle between demons and the light. Couple that with likeable characters and believable motivations and you have a series to enjoy.
This tale keeps on getting better and better as things go on. As a new student he is learning about magic and life . The concept of a dragon / demon loard has it down trials and tribulations.
I love 💘 the way the author blends the personalities & traits of his characters. Especially enjoyed how the Princess & her knight were dealt with!! Excellent outcome. Am really looking forward to book 3.
More of the same, just replace horrors with Empire goons. The weakest aspect of this series is the sex scenes as they are amazingly lackluster. I definitely find them more sedating than stimulating. Also, MC is low-key annoying. He is just too pissy for my taste. I already purchased the whole series so I will complete it.
Enjoyed reading and nice casts of endearing charactors. Looking forward to reading next book in the series. Interesting to see what other mystical creaters will be discovered.
I really enjoyed reading this book. It was fun and entertaining. The story and characters were interesting and engaging. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next. This book is definitely worth checking out.
Anyone who liked book 1 will also enjoy this one. The story progresses rather slowly, but new animal companions are added somewhat hastily and only really come to life later.
As in book 1, the sexual content is limited and the writing style is simple but pleasant to read.
So far this series is a wonderful read. I usually have two books I am reading at one time. But when I started to read this story, it is the only thing that I am reading now.
Really enjoyed this book. The series is excellent. Characters are well defined and the storyline keeps you involved. Definitely looking forward to more from Deacon
A wonderful world to.let your imagination play in!!!! Very interesting characters, grand adult fantasy activities, unique uses of magic and cool adventures!!!
