My brother’s best friend, Liam Masters—pro-footballer and temptation personified.
He’s so off limits.
I’ve wanted him for years, but he still sees me as a kid.
Staying away is impossible. I can’t get him out of my head, or my house. He’s everywhere.
The spark Kingston ignites is a surprise. He’s educating me on how to get over Liam. The hot teacher is quiet, caring, and an old soul. He takes me to heaven with his touch.
Doing Liam a favour, I introduce them so Kingston can be his tutor. But Liam’s learning more than the maths Kingston is teaching. He’s discovering a side of himself with my man, and now he wants Kingston too.
I tried to walk away from Liam and wanted Kingston to myself. Can the third time be the charm? Or am I destined to watch both men I love score together, leaving me on the sidelines once again?
Third Time’s A Charm is a bi-awakening, opposites-attract MMF romance with NO cheating.
By day Ann Grech lives in the corporate world and can be found sitting behind a desk typing away at reports and papers or lecturing to a room full of students. She graduated with a PhD in 2016 and is now an over-qualified nerd. Glasses, briefcase, high heels and a pencil skirt, she’s got the librarian look nailed too. If only they knew! She swears like a sailor, so that’s got to be a hint. The other one was “the look” from her tattoo artist when she told him that she wanted her kids initials “B” and “J” tattooed on her foot. It took a second to register that it might be a bad idea. She’s never entirely fit in and loves escaping into a book—whether it’s reading or writing one. But she’s found her tribe now and loves her MM book world family. She dislikes cooking, but loves eating, can’t figure out technology, but is addicted to it, and her guilty pleasure is Byron Bay Cookies. Oh and shoes. And lingerie. And maybe handbags too. Well, if we’re being honest, we’d probably have to add her library too given the state of her credit card every month (what can she say, she’s a bookworm at heart)! She also publishes her raunchier short stories under her pen name, Olive Hiscock.
That was a lovely story, I got all the feels and so much more...
When you read an Ann Grech story you know that you will meet characters that are unique, complex, driven, broken, and sexy as all hell. The trials they face will have you smiling and crying, all while trying not to hyperventilate.
But Kingston, oh my heart, what a fabulous guy. I loved him from that very first moment where he was feeling lost at a speed dating event. This beautiful guy that nurtures children for fun needs someone that will show him his worth.
Adelaide, she believes everyone deserves a fulfilling sex life, so she sets about doing exactly that, teaching and showing. But she's frustrated with her own life, how can she be in love with her brother's bff for years and years, she needs to move on, maybe a speed dating event could change her life.
And then there's Liam, a successful football player with a promising future but with a very dark and lonely life. He is doing his best to sleep his way to oblivian. The only joy in his life his best friend Elijah, his sister Adelaide and their family. If not for them he would have been... who knows what would have happened ?
The events on that ordinary day catapulted all three people into a situation that no one could have foreseen. All it took was an intimate moment between King and Addy viewed by Liam to throw his life into turmoil and question his very being. How was he supposed to hide his feelings now?
This story captured my heart from the get go, I adored all of the characters (okay, maybe King a little extra) and the angst the author put them through made it hard to put down. The sexual chemistry, puhlees, it was off the friggin charts. I mean that scene with the voyeurism, it was as sensual as it was hot, I may have needed to fan myself, for a bit. So, so good!
Third Time’s A Charm is a friends-to-lovers/brother’s best friend romance. It’s chock-full of both quick-witted light conversations and those that are emotional yet pivotal to developing the characters' relationship(s). Adelaide, Kingston, and Liam are outwardly three very different people driven by the same thing, passion. They are each navigating their paths yet seem destined to find each other.
King is one of the most kind, loving, and self-aware characters, male or female, that I’ve read in a very long time. He is intelligent, proud, supportive, and an all-around good person.
Liam is confident on the field and appears to have it all, good looks, fame, and talent. However, off the field, he has emotional scars that have left him insecure and struggling to find his place. That is until he realizes he found where he belonged years ago in his best friend’s family. The reassurance and support from his chosen family gave him the confidence to finally stand up for himself.
Adelaide, although young, is confident, successful, and learning more about herself and what she wants in life and love. She created a business and was constantly thinking of ways to improve and expand it to create the life she wanted.
I loved everything about this story. It is written in a way that makes each character relatable in their own right. This story could paint someone’s expectations of love and relationships, and the bar is high.

In the book “Third Times a Charm” we meet Adelaide who is helplessly in love with her brother’s best friend Liam. Adelaide has been his buddy/friend for over 10 years. Liam has never seen her as anything more than a friend. Addy is trying to accept this and move on and find someone to love her. She agrees to go to a speed dating event where she meets Kingston. Kingston is just as attracted and interested in Addy as she is in him. The two spend time getting to know each other and then begin to fall in love. Kingston admits to Addy that he is bisexual. As things proceed between these two they are spotted by Liam who is completely surprised that is attracted to both Kingston and Addy. Liam needs help with statistics so that he can pass a course he is taking and Addy asks Kingston a math teacher to help him, of course during a time that Addy has to go out of town for a few weeks. I really enjoyed the romance between Addy and Kingston and the slow build up between Liam and Kingston. This is a very steamy book with a couple of hot sex scenes. The interactions between these three are very intense. It’s great to see the caring and emotional connection between all three. How they cared and treated each other. A truly enjoyable book, I had not read the 3 prior books but I certainly intend to go back and read them to meet some of the characters that were included in this book that were also involved in poly relationships.
Another beautiful love story from the amazing Ann Grech!! Book 4 in The Rule of Three series does not disappoint. Adelaide, King and Liam are just beautiful, inside and out. The love they have for one another makes gives you all the feels. None of them are perfect and that is what makes them relatable. Can be read as a standalone but I recommend starting with book 1 to get the full effect of the love and acceptance these books offer. I can't wait for the 5th installment in this series!!
3.2 star read for me. I just couldn't get into the connection between the 3 main characters. I understood Addy and King and King and Liam but after Addy pined after Liam for 10 years I just don't understand how he suddenly saw her as more than a little sister.
I love MMF romances but I just wish I could have been able to feel like I was delving into the characters feelings more and had a connection with them that I was just missing.
An enjoyable read, from a great series. Ann Grech has blessed us again with steamy scenes and hot characters, all wrapped up by a good storyline. Set in what must be the trouple capital of Australia, the Gold Coast.
I love this series and how it interconnects. Several appearances from characters we have already met, some who have their story already others we can only hope for more from. Every book is hard to put down and this one was no different, can't wait for more.
Lovely story. I enjoyed the characters. Adelaide, Kingston and Liam were very interesting characters. I loved their story line. I loved their heat together. Ann in my opinion is a master of the romantic love of three. I was really entertained by the story of her characters because it was sweet and spicy at the same time. I received a complimentary copy of this story and I freely left this review.
Beautiful! I loved the fact that it wasn’t a simple straight forward thing. Each character had their own personal struggles that had to be dealt with and the other partners were there to help them see their own true value. There were some funny moment s and some break your heart moments, but it was an amazing journey and great to see past characters, and fun to meet new ones. Looking forward to the next book in the series!
I LOVED this installment of the series!! I loved seeing Addy’s journey with both men and then their meld together! It was a slow burn, but oh so worth the read. I was captivated from the beginning not wanting the book to end. Looking forward to the next installment as well!!
Another great read from Ann Grech. A journey filled with love, romance, drama and steam. Character you come to love and root for. After the journey ends there is an HEA to finish off this great story.
Liked it but felt like some parts dragged, I too way to long to finish this so I liked it enough but it lacked something. Good read though, gimme a good MMF any day!
The previous three stories in Ann Grech's Rule Of Three series have been emotional, heartwarming, and thoroughly captivating. I have shared the laughter, tears, heartbreak, and joy of her characters, and this one was no different. THIRD TIME'S A CHARM is a beautiful story of three people looking for both love and acceptance. Adelaide McMahon, Kingston Vella and Liam Masters stole my heart with their heart wrenching journey to love.
"She'd been like a beacon to him ... in a sea of greys and black, she was colour."
From the moment she met him Adelaide had a crush on her older brother's best friend Liam, he only saw her as a friend. Years have passed and Addy now loves him, unfortunately his feelings toward her have never changed, Addy now realises that she must move on. A chance meeting at a speed dating event sees Kingston enter her life and bring with him a love she could only dream of. This mild-mannered teacher, on the outside, brings Addy alive with both his words and his touch. Together they explore each other both physically and emotionally, pushing both their own and each other's boundaries. Love grows quickly, yet Addy still holds her love for Liam close to her heart.
"Liam wanted Addy's easy comfort and King's warm reassurance."
Liam had never felt love and acceptance from his family, he was considered and outsider, an inconvenience, yet the love he always craved came from his neighbours, the McMahons. Liam, a professional footballer, was struggling with his Uni degree, one that he needed to remain on his team. Addy steps in and suggests that King help Liam by tutoring him. King is attracted to Liam, and soon Liam begins to feel the same. Neither take any steps to move their friendship to the next level, even though they crave each other's touch, for fear of hurting the one person who means the most to them ... Addy. King enabled Liam to discover a side to himself that he never knew, he has also enabled him to realise that he has always had deeply hidden feelings for Addy. Can these three people, two who are already in a relationship, come together and experience the love they have always desired?
"They'd needed to stop fighting the inevitable and let their journeys converge."
THIR TIME'S A CHARM from the very beginning, played upon every one of my emotions. Ann's exquisite words capturing my heart with the turn of every page. Liam's story is heartbreaking, yet extremely inspirational, the way in which he fought for the love he always desired. King, too, had overcome hurdles in his past to enable him to become the man he now was. I adored Addy, she was willing to sacrifice her own love for the two men she loved most, she was completely selfless. Witnessing the three of them traverse their separate roads to reach their combined destination was an absolute privilege.
THIRD TIME'S A CHARM: another beautiful story in this amazing series from Ann.
I enjoy MMF Romances and this one hit all the feels!
Adalaide, or Adds to her guys, has been in love with Liam for years, but he's only seen her as a little sister as Liam is best friends with her brother. So to get over him, Adalaide goes to a speed-dating event where she meets Kingston or Kings. And the two of them hit it off right away. And Kings is very open and honest from be beginning that he's bisexual.
So when Adds has to go away for schooling for three weeks, Kings helps Liam with his statistics class. And they become closer leading to an almost kiss. But Kings and Adalaide know there is more love to give in their relationship. But Liam knows he has a lot to lose if this relationship comes out.
Adalaide, Kingston, and Liam get their happy ending in this stand-alone book in a series.
I loved how the three different relationships formed over time and how they were all different. There was also a strong sense of friendship at the base of each relationship which I feel helped make the romantic relationship that much better. I would have loved to have had more time with the three of them as a couple, but I also understand why the build-up to getting Liam into the relationship had to happen.
I received an advance review copy from the author, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
