USA Today Bestselling Author Claudia Burgoa pens a thought-provoking emotional duet that works through the angst of finding love amidst past hurts and the pain associated with not belonging, not fitting in.
I grew up knowing that the way I love is a sin.
But how can something so wrong feel so blessedly right?
Some people can’t drive fifty-five. Me?
I’ve never done simple.
But after Thea and Tristan came into my life, everything fell into place. Thea and Tristan make me whole. We’re in love. Or…I thought we were. Are we?
It was the music that broke her.
Shattered her.
Something about the music.
Tristan and I would do anything to lift the burden weighing her soul so she can heal.
But she has to trust us with her secrets.
Even if the truth that’s destroying her from the inside out strikes at the heart of the Decker family. Like the sucker punch that comes out of nowhere, drawing blood that the media is salivating for.
Me and Thea.
Thea and Tristan.
Tristan and me.
Somewhere in the eye of this emotional hurricane is the unicorn I have to believe exists. Because without hope and trust, forever doesn’t exist for any of us.
It’s as simple—and as complicated—as that.
Who We Love is the conclusion of the Perfect Everlasting duet. A Decker Family novel.
Claudia is an award-winning, USA Today bestselling author. She writes alluring, thrilling stories about complicated women and the men who take their breath away. She lives in Denver, Colorado with her husband and her youngest two children. She has a sweet Bichon, Macey, who thinks she's the ruler of the house. She's only partially right. When Claudia is not writing, you can find her reading, knitting, or just hanging out with her family. At night, she likes to binge watch shows with her equally geeky husband.
Not only does this crafty storyteller leave us with a cliffie, she continues to give her characters real-life challenges to test them. Things are not easy for a “couple” of three, as you can imagine. Especially when one is famous, one is running from the past, and one is hiding from himself. In addition to the anticipated difficulties, Tristan's family continues their shenanigans, and his sister, ugh! I guarantee you'll want to deck her and wipe that smug smirk off her face!
The thing I adore about this story though is watching love conquer all. Seeing each person grow individually and using every roadblock on their way to forever to make them stronger. And boy, oh boy, there are some doozies! But the Decker family is there for them through it all, loving and supporting them unconditionally.
This duet won’t be for every reader, due to the MMF element. There is a lot of that element, just so you’re aware, and this is by far the steamiest of Burgoa's work so far. But it's also a love story about unbreakable bonds, new beginnings, and second chances, and it’s heart-breakingly beautiful. Compelling, captivating, emotional and unique, these characters and their story will own a piece of your soul!
The conclusion to Matthew, Tristan and Theas story was perfect with how the duet transpired. So much was broken but there’s so much love there that they just needed time to figure out there own demons first
My goodness, Who We Love (Perfectly Everlasting Duet #2) is a fantastic, dramatic and outstanding conclusion to this duet. Based upon the ending of Who We Are, I couldn’t wait to find out how Matthew, Tristan and Thea’s story unfolded. I didn’t think it was possible but this book is even more emotional, angsty and heart wrenching than Who We Are. Trust me when I tell you, the triad goes through A LOT separately and together. The storyline is concise, engaging, well written and it’s everything that I wanted and needed.
As usual, Claudia Burgoa didn’t disappoint and she exceeded my expectations considering there are jaw dropping and unexpected plot twists that blew my mind. Matthew, Tristan and Thea’s love is unparalleled and it resonated deep within my soul. They have a tender, passionate, scorching and moving romance and they were definitely meant to be together from the start. Once again, Ms. Burgoa has created a binge worthy duet that I fell so hard for. Out of all the Decker family’s duets, The Perfectly Everlasting Duet is without a doubt my favorite.
I loved this book because Tristan, Matt and Thea realized they needed to evaluate the scope, value and depth of their relationship in order to be successful. The only way to do that was to be open, vunerable and completely transparent. By baring themselves they could truly be honest with each other and themselves. It was not easy because what if it meant having to walk away forever. You have to read the book to find out if they get a HEA.
The audiobook version was beautifully crafted by the obvious talents of Erin Mallon, Teddy Hamilton and Jason Clarke. Their voices compliments each other in cadence, emotion and harmony. Listening to Thea, Matt and Tristan's HEA made me love them ever more.
Who We Love is the emotional and heartaching conclusion to Thea, Matthew and Tristan's complicated love story. It was beyond loving another person. It was about learning to love self and the beauty of family love and bonding.
This is book two of a duet and should be read after Who We Love. We are in middle of the complicated story of successful businessman and closet bisexual Tristan, rockstar bad boy Matthew Decker and ex child star hiding in plain site Thea Dennis. Thea's past is catching up that will destroy her again. Tristan has a lot of healing to do. And Matthew has to learn how to truly let in someone.
This story was a journey from heartbreak to happily ever after. The secrets are coming out and everyone has to face their demons now. I absolutely love how the Decker family stood together and accepted and embraced Tristan and Thea. They really don't have anyone in their corner. Tristan matured a lot. He dealt with his fears. He became more confident about his feelings. Matt and Thea pushed him to conquer his doubts even if it was a hard task. He left behind his negativity and self blame and self loathing but not before he broke his own heart and others too. Thea is such an inspiring character. It's amazing to see her shine so brightly and behave so fiercely when her past was so dark. She got some big surprises here and I am happy to see her life becoming whole, happy and stable. I thought Mattew is the most balanced one but with everything happening in his relationship, his issues came our too. I love this bad boy rockstar with his killer charm and seductive sweetness. This book was definitely a lot hotter that book one. Their passion is blazing hot and the scenes were so sinful. I feel the author balanced the heat and the feels perfectly.
After the way things ended in the first book I was heartbroken and after Thea's recollection of just a part of her past left me with tears. I was furious and heartbroken for her. Her break down made me want to search for her father and kill him for what he made her go through.
I was desperate and praying for Thea and Tristan to accept what Matt asked for. I din want any of there heart to be broken. And when they finally did I once again had a smile on my face. But it wasn't an easy path. They had a lot to overcome and face a lot of demons from their past and present to get the happiness they all deserved.
All three of them had their own growth and though they supported each other but also fought themselves for the sake of their love. I did not expect the plot twist which blew my mind. This book is even more intense than the first one and there is so much of anguish, love, passion and pain. And their chemistry was sizzling burning the pages.
My love for the Decker family increased three folds after the way they not only accept both Thea and Tristan but also support them.
What I loved the most about the duet was it wasn't just a bond about Thea and Matt, Tristan and Thea but Matt and Tristan had deep love as well. I was in awe how they understood each other. The 3 of them were perfect at the same time but they each had a unique connection with each other. Only Claudia could have written such a unique and special relationship.
Thanks to Claudia and Wildfire marketing for the advanced copy.
Conversation heard in the recesses of my ridiculous mind … Who We Are:“Let me just say this one thing … the emotional rollercoaster that is this polyamorous romance journey is incomparable to any other I have read in a loooooong time!” Who We Love:“Hold my beer”
I see you laughing, but yes, that is a bullseye accurate statement to what happened with this journey. 💯
Who We Love broke me. I’m broken. Shattered. Even though I knew that logically, this being a romance journey, I faltered at times with the level of angst that was woven into the story. The story was so real to me that I forgot at times it wasn’t real life and somehow these three were going to make it!! I was so lost in the secrets and heartbreak and atonement and the building, that I just forgot, and of course my constant state of anxiety didn’t help! LOL GAH, you just can’t ask for better than that, amirite?! These three felt like one of mine and I wanted to cocoon them from their struggles and encapsulate them in my heart!
Claudia brought her A+++ game to this game and she teamed up with three of the best narrators I’ve ever had the privilege of getting lost with in a story. These three narrators have been so versatile in my experience with them that they have become auto-clicks when I see they have narrated a romance book. They took an already outstanding story and just blew it out of the surface! From author to narrators, well done!
In Who We Love, all the emotional terrorism continues as it's the conclusion to Matthew, Tristan, and Thea's story on the path of overcoming all obstacles when the heart wants something different from what is considered normal. You cannot start out with it, you must read Who We Are (Book 1) FIRST or you just won't get all the amazing goodness. Being part of a triad definitely isn't for the weak as people just don't understand, including family, and Tristan's family are pieces of work that's for sure. It sure doesn't help with the issues these three have individually, but I have to say Matthew's family is all that & a bag of chips at the end of the day. I think what I loved the most was watching these three go through the fire as they did their best to not let others dictate what they should be doing when it comes to love, but there's all kinds of drama so I'll never tell if they succeeded or not. You'll have to hit those one click buttons to find out for yourselves as I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Who We Love is the 2nd book in the Perfect Everlasting Duet and continues from book 1. It was even more angsty and emotional that the previous book. The story gave us an HEA but we had to go through the heartbreak first and I loved seeing how these three navigated their relationship and their bond grew stronger. You will be fully invested in these characters as they show that love really does conquer all and I loved that the Decker family was supportive of them. This MMF tale was a great conclusion to the duet and I would recommend it.
What happens to Thea when they get to Matt's apartment building? What do the Decker's do? When Victoria shows up, things get interesting. Who is Fey and what does she want? When Tristan goes back to Seattle, who shows up at Matt's home and what is the outcome? Who is Martin? What does he do to Aggie? How does he make his presence known again? What does he want? Who is Thea's father? What I learned shocked me! What does Tristan do that ruins folks? Can those rifts be fixed? Read and see!
I get it! MMF isn’t everyone’s cup of tea but I honestly can vouch this due is gold! Like their stories are told and you get so caught up in them… What I can say is… time cures all❤️
Matthew, Tristian and Thea’s story continues and the challenges they must overcome has just begun. There is no denying the love that they share but they must decide if they are willing to fight to be together or make the easier choice and go their separate ways.
Thea is still trying to overcome her past, Tristian is struggling between what is expected of him and what he wants and Matthew realizes that despite his unconventional upbringing the one thing he can count on is for his family to always be there to support him and those he loves.
Matthew, Tristian and Thea take us on a tumultuous ride that will draw you in and have you invested in their happy ever after as they prove that as long as they have each other there is nothing they can’t overcome. The narrators were a perfect choice for the characters as they brought out both the highs and lows of their relationship.
This was a fantastic conclusion to the Perfect Everlasting Duet. Thea, Matthew, and Tristan’s story was emotional, angsty, and heart breaking. There was so much going on and the plot twists left me audibly gasping. Both books were a whirlwind of emotions and I binged both books one after another because this throple’s story was so captivating. The Perfect Everlasting Duet is without a doubt a favorite of mine and a story I’ll go back to time and time again.
Jason Clarke, Teddy Hamilton and Erin Mallon’s performance in the second part of this duet is commendable and they made this book thoroughly enjoyable.
I absolutely loved Who We Love by Claudia Burgoa; the second book in her Perfect Everlasting Duet, it is an incredible second chance triad love story. Claudia Burgoa continues to provide readers with incredible love stories filled with amazing characters. She continues to prove that she is an amazing storyteller. I love all the characters in Who We Love, they feel like family! Who We Love filled me with a rollercoaster of emotions. It was impossible to put it down, and I loved every moment on every page. It was the first triad love story that I read, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Who does not love hot sexy men, strong females, loving families, and friends, who always support one another? I really enjoy how the book is told in the first person from the perspective of the main characters. I love getting the insight and feelings from the different characters. I love the lighter moments where I find myself smiling and laughing out loud. My favorite moments are the ones that pull at my heartstrings that cause me to sigh, as I read the heartbreaking moments. Who We Love is filled with heartbreaking and heartwarming moments. It is filled with all those things that I have come to love and expect in Claudia Burgoa love story, and she did not disappoint, especially with the poignant and bittersweet moments that filled this page turner. Who We Love is a triad love story Agatha “Thea” Dennis, bartender at the Silver Moon bar, as well as a jewelry maker and counselor who sees patients in Christian Decker’s office, Matthew Decker, a band member of Without a Compass, CEO of Transcending Productions, and an author writing as J.M. Hurst, and Tristan “Coop” Cooperson, owner of several upscale bars and partners with Jacob and Matt in a couple others. Thea, Matt, and Coop agree on their unconventional triad relationship, but it works for them. Thea continues to worry about how to tell the Colthurst-Decker family that Martin Levitz, former member of Chris’s Dreadful Souls band is her biological father. Tristan’s family continues to pressure him to come home and to the right thing, marry Victoria Hudson, and marry their two companies. As Thea, Matthew, and Tristan spend time together, they begin a relationship that works for them. I love all the heart-to-heart conversations that happen between Thea, Matt, and Coop, as well as the other characters in the books. Some of the secrets shared during those conversations are heartbreaking. I love the chemistry between Thea, Matt, and Tristan, and their relationship works for them. An unexpected plot twist occurs that threatens the relationship between Thea, Matt, and Coop. Several other plot twists occur because of what was revealed with the initial plot twist. I love how Matthew’s family helps Matthew resolve the plot twist. I love that Pria helps with the images of all three of them. I love when Thea, Matt and Coop get real with their true feelings for each another and open up to each other in an emotionally charged dialogue that transpires between them. I love the changes that Tristan makes in his life and with his family to have a life with Thea and Matthew. I love all the changes that Matt within himself to have a mature relationship with Thea and Tristan. My favorite part is the surprise twist that is revealed about Thea that changes her outlook on her life. I love Thea’s relationship with the Colthurst-Decker family. I love the ending of their love story and their wedding that took place at Silver Moon where they all met, but I especially loved their wedding gifts to one another. I also love how the epilogue went above and beyond a happily ever after, and the changes that they make to have a life with one another. I especially love all the new Colthurst-Decker children. I was so happy that Thea, Matthew, and Tristan finally got their happily ever after. I love the characters and the family dynamic in Who We Love, the characters feel like family and friends. I loved catching up with Ainsley, Mason, Jacob, Pria, Chris, Gabe, and Arthur. I enjoyed all the interactions between Decker siblings especially their teasing that made me laugh. Who does not love family and friends that always have each other’s backs? I thoroughly enjoyed Who We Love, who does not love a second chance at love story? I loved reading the conclusion of Thea and Matthew’s love story. Highly recommend this incredible love story.

This last part of Perfectly Everlasting was everything I hoped for in Matt, Tristan & Thea's relationship plus many amazing revelations, some heartbreak and some very beautiful moments with the Deckers
Without a doubt, what I liked most about this book was being able to read the process that Matthew, Tristan & Thea go through to overcome their traumas, fears, insecurities, secrets, and be able to be together, I loved that everything had its moment in the relationship between these characters, that the Deckers are always willing to support Matt, but also Tristan & Thea, and although I suffered a bit I have to say that I loved the not-so-small dose of drama that Claudia Y. Burgoa gave me with this book, as well as the unexpected revelations and the wonderful family vibe that always there are in her books. Definitely reading the Deckers was a great ride and I'll be reading the remains of the triplets very soon.

In the conclusion of Matthew's story, we see all three of them (Matthew, Aggie, and Tristian) trying to figure out how to be in a relationship as a triad. Matthew lets the other know that he loves them and they are his soulmates. Aggie is learning that she can't live without her two guys. Tristian has the hardest time adjusting to and accepting the relationship. He's still hiding his personal life from everyone (especially his crazy family) but as the story continues we see Tristian starting to accept his personal life and loving 2 people. When Aggie's past comes back to haunt her, Matthew and his family goes into damage control mode while Tristian feels he must make a sacrifice in order for Aggie not to get hurt, even though it wasn't the smartest decision.
As the triad relationship starts to fall apart, each person re-examines their part in the relationship and how they did or did not take things for granted or really didn't believe in what they had. It takes some efforts for Matthew to get through to Tristian to show him what the two of them had was real. Tristian must also convince Aggie of this true feelings. Matthew and Aggie knows that they are each other's soulmate even though they were taking a break.
The 3 of them finally get on the same page about their relationship. But an obstacle gets in the way of Aggie's happiness and the 2 guys work to resolve Aggie's reluctance. The whole Decker clan is supportive of each of them and makes Aggie and Tristian realize that they are part of the family. Aggie also finally gets the family that she has yearned for and Tristian is finally able to figure out how to deal with his family.
WHO WE LOVE is the conclusion of the Perfect Everlasting duet. This book starts where the first book left off from the cliffhanger. This is a good but heartwarming romance that is very heartfelt and emotional. Matthew, Thea, and Tristan (Coop) are full of surprises—I was flabbergasted with the unexpected revelations that happened. Thea has secrets that she is keeping from Matthew and Tristan. When you find out that the truth isn’t always what it seems, what do you do about it? Well, find out what happens when all the secrets unfold, the masks that they hold in place slip off and everything is revealed. The road to Matthew, Thea, and Tristan’s happiness seems wrought with heartache, secrets, lies, and family drama. The angst is intense. And, despite their differences, their chemistry is intense and off-the-chart HOT!! Lines will be crossed, secrets will be revealed. They push and pull through the whole story, and they will fascinate you and frustrate you at the same time. You get a chance to see the progression of their love—theirs was not a quick and easy love story because they had to overcome some issues, but loves does prevail. There are several twists and turns within the story that will tempt the characters in ways they could have never envisioned. I am usually not a fan of MFM, but this book piqued my interest. Claudia Burgoa writes dynamic stories about love, forgiveness, and family. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
4.25 STARS This second book of this duet of an unconventional triad relationship between Matt, Tristan and Thea was much more emotional to me than the first book. It’s a bit faster paced. I really enjoyed the conclusion to their story. It’s a very steamy & sexy story, emotions play a bigger part, though. I loved the characters journey in this book, they struggle with different things and there’s some very heart wrenching occurrences to their relationship and to the characters personally. Some secrets get revealed that bring clarity and a heartwarming dynamic to the characters story. I love that the main characters grow and some secondary characters have a bit of growth and improvement as well. Overall I really enjoyed this story, I like the characters very much and I think the unconventional relationship and the sensitive topics covered are important and handled very well by the author. This book in the duet had more things happening at once and I enjoyed the faster pace. I connected with the characters more as well. Something Tristan went through as a teenager that harmed him and gave him severe PTSD is something that is close to my heart, I feel strongly that it needs to be talked about, exposed more and stopped. I was so glad the author included this and showed the aftermath. I was invested in these characters and rooting for their happiness and their HEA. I wasn’t disappointed.
After Who We Are i immediately started looking forward to this second installment! I needed to know what all was going to happen next in this story. I picked it up as soon as i could and got right back into the Perfectly Everlasting world! I so enjoyed this second book!
Matthew, Tristan and Thea's journey continues! Matthew, Tristan, and Thea can't deny they share something special. The thing is though, can they tackle everything and fight for their love?
I was so glad to get more of Matt, Tristan, and Thea! My heart and i were pulled right back in by these three. I enjoyed digging deeper with them and seeing them handle things in their lives. As i said with book one, the realness of these characters truly got to me and it did it again with this second book!
From their connection to the undeniable chemistry between these three, Matt, Tristan, and Thea had me feeling every bit of their journey with them!
With Who We Love, Ms.Burgoa has created such a good continuation with emotions that'll keep you turning the pages! This duet had my heart and i feeling so much! I can't wait to read what she comes up with next!
*I volunteered to read and review a copy of this book from Wildfire Marketing Solutions / the author*
You must read "Who We Are" before reading this second part of the Perfect Everlasting Duet, or it won't make any sense. Claudia writes a tale that makes us love these unusual people and understand how and why they need each other. They do the heavy work to understand and accept themselves and to exorcise the demons that haunt them. There is one demon we don't initially anticipate, and they are a doozy! The past comes out in huge clumps, which they must deal with separately and together. They become more honest, and Thea can be physical again after her past trauma. I love that they go to therapy. Thea is a psychologist, but like many in the field, she has gone into this work to figure out her own past and help others. Their passion and joy are lovely to watch as it develops and is supported by Matt's extended family. Tristan is still struggling until he works out the mess with his own family, and we cheer him all the way. I will go back and read the other Decker stories, even though I have read them before. This is the best family; even though they started out a mess in the previous generation, now they are strong and organized to love and protect all their members. I received an ARC from the author and left this review voluntarily.
This is book two and The conclusion in The Perfect Everlasting Duet and it is Matthew, Tristan and Thea's story and omg it is definitely a must read. Wow Wow Wow what an absolutely amazing ending to a very emotional story that had me in tears yet again but I wouldn't have missed reading it for the world as it is the type of story that will stay with you long after you have finished reading it. This book takes you in right from the first page and just wouldn't let you go and it had great characters and a storyline that pulled you in and kept you on the edge of your seat while holding your breath wondering what would happen next. Matthew, Tristan and Thea continue there complicated journey and the pit falls along the way will not make it easy at all but I absolutely loved watching them grow and start to not only start the healing process but also have the trust in each other and the strength to fight back and move forward together and have a bond that is so strong that it is unbreakable even though many have tried. There are twists and turns along with betrayal, strength, second chances, emotions, heart breaking, secret's, sacrifices, struggles, ups and downs, obstacles and difficult situations that are written with so much care and compassion and I definitely recommend you read this duet and you will not be able to put it down as not only is it a page turner but also totally addictive and kept your attention throughout. I can't wait to see what Claudia Burgoa writes next as she is an amazing author and writer.
This is book two of the duet and I couldn’t wait to get more of these three. Matt, Thea, and Tristan have my emotions all over the place in this conclusion of their tales. All three of these characters go through their own struggles and struggles together. Ms. Burgoa is masterful in her writing and seems to pull me into her stories every time. I laughed, I cried, and yelled at a couple characters. I always go back for books by an author that can provoke emotion out of me with their words!!! While this is a MFM duet and won’t be for every reader, I absolutely recommend this duet. ~Helen
This conclusion was just as epic as I expected and prepared for. It's heart wrenching so you'll need the tissues. The plot twists I did not see coming had me turning the page faster than I could read. My jaw dropped and didn't close for a while. This duet wraps up in such a way that left me feeling complete. These three characters were meant for each other and deserved their hea so much. It's beautifully epic and a must read duet! ~Helen
This is a complete duet - parts one and two are both available It is Matthew, Tristan, and Thea's story It is packed with angst, hope, betrayal, personal discovery, acceptance, and romance all brought together by a cast that will steal your heart and never let go
The first book focuses more IMO on who the characters are, allowing the reader a chance to know them intimately. We get a glimpse into their pasts, their secrets, and their dreams. Tristan who comes from privilege and prestige. Who has to hide his true self from the despicable people who call themselves his family. Matthew - our sweet loveable Matthew who is bound and determined to bring our trio together. To slay the dragons who might try to harm those he loves so wholeheartedly and Thea - one of the strongest heroines I have had the pleasure of meeting. She has faced so much tragedy, and overcome so many obstacles and it shows.
This is one of those reads that will drag you through the entire spectrum of emotions kicking and screaming the whole way Don't pass it up
Who we love is the second book in The Perfect Everlasting Duet. We continue with the stories of Matt, Tristan and Thea. We pick up just where the first book ended. This book tells us more how they start to deal with their past and how they can overcome the things that have hurt them in the past.
The love between the three of them is so great, but eventually there are some cracks in the foundation. Which makes all of them realize that that foundation isn’t as stable as they thought. Now they have to see if they can find ways to overcome everything in the past and build the foundation back from scratch.
I was sad to see this duet come to an ending. But I know we will see more of the Decker family in the future, so we can keep up with how everything is going.
The conclusion of this duet picks up exactly where book one finished with Matthew, Tristan and Thea at a crisis point in their relationship. As a 'thrupple' they can stand against the world and achieve anything they want, but what would happen if things start to fall apart. This is a story of love, trust, acceptance and family values and how you navigate these tortuous roads to achieve your happy ever after. The journey these three have to go through is an emotional roller coaster that will keep you enthralled.
Ms. Burgoa is a master of words that come together to transport you to another world. This book is captivating and once you start, you won't want to put it down. My advice, curl up, turn off your phone and escape to the wonderful world of the Decker's.
This second book in the duet had it all. All the steam, all the angst, all the tears, all the heartbreak, and the best HEA you could ask for.
Matt, Thea, and Tristan can't seem to catch a break in this conclusion of their story. Tristan's past is rearing its ugly head and pulling him back to help the family that did nothing but give him grief for who he is. Thea's past has a new filter on it now that certain things have been revealed. And Matt is still trying his best to hold together the little family he made for himself with Thea and Tristan but it's not as easy as it sounds.
Oh my heavens! What a conclusion! Who We Love was the second book in Claudia’s Perfectly Everlasting Duet and must be read in order. It was full of angst, love, and healing.
Matthew, Tristan, and Thea needed to figure out what was best for themselves before they could be together. Would they be able to figure it out or would the world dictate it for them?
Talk about all the feels! There was so much to unpack and Claudia’s writing made you feel as if you were right there with them. It was such a beautiful heartfelt journey with many surprises along the way. I know I have seen glimpses of this trio in more recent books and loved to get to see their story!
What a story to read. If we skip the romance, for a moment, it was about three different families with totally different lifestyles and beliefs. It was hard to swallow some parts but Decker family was the light in the darkness. Other two, despicable. Back to the romance part, slow burn and growing, as three of them finding themselves and their path to happiness. Now I’m going to read again about “kids”. Tucker , Us After You, and Grace, Call You Mine.
Tucker is Thea's son. This story is another emotional ride. Grace's book, Call You Mine, she is Mason and Ainsley's daughter.
“Never be sorry for trying to survive in a world where everyone has only hurt you. I’m here for you, to be your rock. Lean on me until you’re ready to stand on your own, okay?”
This is the second book in the Perfect Everlasting Duet and it is not a standalone. It brings Thea’s life front and center while the relationship with Matthew and Tristan is heating up. What stands out is how real the feelings of the characters are as the storyline unfolds with the three following their journey of heartache, forgiveness, love and self discovery. Ms. Burgoa so deftly pens a story showing that love may not always be perfect but it is worth fighting for. I recommend this book.
Who We Love picked right up from the heartbreaking ending in Who We Are, capturing my heart and never letting it go! I was so invested in Matthew, Thea, and Tristan, and how they would find their way to their HEA! Thea was betrayed and abused by those she should have been able to trust when she was younger. She is still working through her demons and it breaks Matthew and Tristan's hearts and they will do whatever it takes to protect her and help her heal. Tristan had his own betrayal, and abuse that he is working through that total broke my heart as well. But this is also Matthews story. He has his own reasons for feeling adrift and alone, just like Thea, and Tristan. I love how Burgoa gifted us with rich and complex characters. She took her time with them, breaking all three of them to their core, and allowing them to grow, and heal, and be stronger for themselves and each other. It was so beautiful how she weaved humor, heartache, music and passion into this love story. I also loved how essential the whole Colthurst-Decker and Bradley families were to pester, love and support them unconditionally. This story is a fascinating, and heartbreakingly beautiful journey that was a roller coaster of deep emotion that I couldn't put down, and I absolutely loved it all!
