AVA ROSS fell for men with unusual features when she first watched Star Wars, where alien creatures have gone mainstream. She lives in New England with her husband (who is sadly not an alien, though he is still cute in his own way), her kids, and assorted pets, including a yorkie pup and three cats.
Overall, I enjoyed this series and it's cast of characters. There were some inconsistencies like the first book saying Xilan gestation was 3 months then in the last book it was 18 months. Also, Xilan's are supposed to be fertile every 3 years but in the bonus epilouge 2 of the women were already pregnant again and it was only a year after the last book. The timing doesn't add up.
Alien Commander's Mate This was the first book in the Fated Mates of the Xilan Warriors series and it does a really good job of introducing the series and the world it will be taking place in as well as the initial characters. The first book is about Lydia and Gorok and I enjoyed seeing how they developed as individuals as well as their relationship. The story rotates points of view from chapter to chapter allowing the reader to get to know them better. The next book in the series "Alien Prince's Bride" will be between Avery and Prince Vikar and I look forward to reading their story.
3.5 - 4 stars I enjoy sci fi romance as anything goes.
Earth women who want babies find aliens to help them fulfill their goal only they find love along the way. The women find new worlds—the men find mates entering into arrangements that they never thought they would find.
There is action as wars break out and tension as these women navigate their newfound lives. Emotions run high as they confront their circumstances, dealing with the conflicting feelings of fear, hope, and longing. The presence of strong alpha males adds another layer, as they vie for the attention of these Earth women, leading to moments of romance and interesting encounters.
Amidst the challenges, there’s also an undercurrent of playful interactions, as the women learn to assert their own identities and desires in this strange new world. Overall, it’s a captivating blend of love, action, and adventure that keeps you engaged from beginning to end.
I have read a few books by Ava Ross and enjoyed them but the last few I have read were very disappointing. The writing reads like a first draft and the dialogue is juvenile. Maybe what I have read lately was earlier works so I will have to pay attention to publication dates.
Supposedly these books are related yet certain facts change from one book to another. Ava has an imagination but can’t keep the facts straight. Also, the need to add hot sex during a time the couple is running for their lives is too unbelievable. I read it all because I was Very bored not because the books were worth reading.
Four exciting stories of survival, courage and falling in love. How will each couple manage to survive? Will they find allies to help them? Will they just be in lust or love? Enjoy!
I liked these aliens looking for a Slaking. Our leading ladies weren't too shabby either. I was a little confused on the 3 year mark and the length of pregnancy
Each couple had their own unique obstacles and shared moments which made for an enjoyable read. Loved the characters, alien and human, but lets not forget the amazing sidekicks...T-Rex, Spike, and Christoff.
