Expect to laugh out loud in this bosshole/assistant romcom.

"You're not the boss of me…"

Single dad Jude refuses to employ a new personal assistant because they all just want to sleep with him. The only woman in his life is six-year-old Addison, his darling daughter.

Receptionist Pippa is offered the PA job by Jude's mother, a client at the hairdresser's where she works. It's an offer she can't refuse given the high salary that comes with managing a troublesome boss, and her own family responsibilities caring for a sick mother and her siblings.

Sparks fly as Jude tries to drive her away and Pippa refuses to budge.

Who's actually the boss? Probably neither of them; not when there are meddling children around...

This story first appeared in a limited time anthology entitled Then There Was You in 2019.

Oh my goodness fate had her hands all over this one in fact she stepped in and basically took all control working through a mom who only wanted the best for her boy 😊. Pippa takes care of her mother who has MS, her siblings after her father passes away from cancer so in reality she wears a lot of hats all before her actually paying job starts but a bright side is working with her best friend in the hair solan working as a receptionist which was anything but considering she dealt with very rich, very famous clients who of course expected ten star (if that is such a thing) service her tattoos have to stay hidden and her first apt. to walk through was Ms. Ann Davenport (mother of the sexy guy) whom she likes very much they catch up on each other lives so she knows about her son and all his assistance, she learned he is a single dad as well. So, when his assistant died Ann wondered if she would like to work with her husband company for her son as his assistant. Jude sexy as all get out son of Ann working with her husband in the commissioning department refusing to have a women his age working as his assistant due to the troubles he had with his daughter’s mom all she wanted was his bank account, caused so much trouble prior to leaving and with his mother stepping in hiring the most beautiful women to work as his assistant is going to be a problem or so he things giving in to his mother decides to give her a day or so before she starts to flirt with him little does he know who he is going up against. Pippa accepts the job learning that Jude isn’t anything she expected but with the knowledge his mother gave her she plans to do her job well without any plans of falling for her boss but what his mother didn’t tell her was how sexy he was making it harder, but this job will give the money needed to care for her family so no thinking about the sexy boss. Jude is just as smitten with his new assistant her strength, her ability to accept/deal with kids, and she has taken over his thoughts 😊. The attraction is instant, insanely intense, and the magnetic pull between them grows daily, the more time he spends with her makes it harder for him since he was the one with the initial issue however, it didn’t mean things were going to be easy because Jude seem to sabotage what was real and his mother isn’t done with meddling or pull strings should I say but will he mess up so bad that Pippa walks away from him, will she allow him a second chance, will his mother’s plan work on getting them back together where they belong, and can there be happiness for such a difficult man?.

I love this romance between Jude who is single dad to Addison and works for his dad’s publishing company and Pippa who is looking for more income to help her mum and her two other siblings liberty and Jamie and I love that Pippa didn’t fall for Jude’s charm at the beginning showing she here to be his assistant and not to sleep with him. And I love that Addison has no filter and wanting a sibling since her mum died because of an overdose on drugs and I love that Ann Jude’s mum get along with Pippa from when she was at her old job has a receptionist at a salon for the famous and rich people and love that this book is set in London and love the spicy scenes between Jude and Pippa and this book did make with laugh out loud mostly because of Addison and I just love her so much and I liked that Pippa wanted Jude to grovel for saying mean things to her at the end but overall I loved this book and it was a quick, spicy read and love angel devein writing as well and also love that Addison Jude’s daughter and liberty Pippa’s little sister become fast friends as well like go on play dates at the trampoline centre and they both love LOL dolls as well

Battle of the wills with some bossy fun

Boss of Me was a charmingly fun and entertaining story about two people who for their own reasons have a battle of the wills that ends up leading to some very unexpected adult fun. I loved Pippa as she is just a young woman with a lot of responsibility that she is trying to keep her head above. This leads to an unexpected offer which leade to Jude. Jude is a single father who needs a nanny but refuses to get one again because they have all just tried to seduce him, or so he thinks. So when his mother offers the job to Pippa he is not having it or her. The problem is that he cannot get rid of Pippa and then the battle of the wills begins.

I absolutely loved Boss of Me by Angel Devlin. As a single dad, Jude is struggling with his career as a book publisher and raising his precocious daughter. His mom thinks he needs another assistant but swears they all want him for his body or his money or both. Pippa is also struggling with her job at upscale hair salon and caring for sick mom and two younger siblings. Jude's mom, whom I adored! decided to take matters into her own hands and convinced Pippa to become Jude's assistant. Jude has definitely met his match in Pippa and despite his grumpy attitude, the chemistry between them becomes too hot to ignore. If you enjoy office romance, you will love their story.

It’s always fun to read a super fast office romcom. This one had it all- billionaire single dad who had been burned in the past by love and wanted nothing to do with romance. A down on her luck PA caring for an ill mother and much younger siblings. Jude and Pippa (so British btw) had great banter and chemistry all through the book- especially since Pippa constantly called Jude on his BS. There was the usual miscommunication and some spicy scenes that we see in these books, and overall it was quite an enjoyable read! I’ll be checking out more of this author in the future!.

Opposition sometimes funny but also moving
It's a good tender romance, with a touch of emotion. I liked the idea of the character of Jude who thinks that all women have only one objective: to make him succumb to their charms. Also, the character of Pippa is all the more interesting, by her desire to make him understand that she is not trying to seduce him, quite the contrary. It also brings a funny touch in certain situations.

Boss of Me is Jude and Pippa's story. I loved the way the author brought Jude and Pippa together. He's a single dad who has sworn off women and she's his new PA but there is something about her that ignites a spark. This is an entertaining story about two people who find love when they least expected it. The writing is well done, the characters are well developed and I loved everything about this fantastic read. Pippa and Jude are wonderfully crafted characters in this romance. Both having difficult lives, they should be able to understand one another. But will they be able to? Good read.

Piper had worked at Paradise, a high-end hair and beauty salon in Knightsbridge for the past 9 years. She was their receptionist, although their was more involved with her job than that.
Ann was a client that she had gotten close to over the years. They often swapped stories about their lives. Ann had a son, Jude that went through too many assistants. The worse one had ended in a pregnancy that resulted in him having sole custody his six year old daughter Addison.
He desperately needed an assistant and Piper had decided that she needed a change. Her home life was exhausting. Her mum had MS and her younger siblings were ten and six. Maybe a new job was in order…
With two six year old mini moguls that hit it off instantly, to mixed up moments, plenty of tears, and lots of passion, this is an absolutely brilliant read to add to your library. Fabulous.
