Bay-be Queen Talena did not disappoint. This was my spin the kindle read of the month and my first read by this author and I look forward to raging more of her work🔥.
Those first few chapters had me pissed tf off, cause that husband wasn't worth the nut that produced him. Like if ain't ish ninja was a person, it'd be Howard. That ninja wasn't ish before they got married and instead of walking away, she believed his lie when he said it wouldn't happen again🙄. Him continuing to cheat showed his lack of respect for not only her but, himself. 10 years is one year to long to be dealing with that type of disrespect and carelessness for her ph balance and health. In the and karma got that a** and he got what he deserved.
Milani & Lance had been crushing on each other from afar for years and, after he bestie dragged her out the house to celebrate her new deal, they finally got their chance to meet in person. The one encounter had the internet in a frenzy and gave Lance the chance a chance to shoot his shot. Lani was so used to dealing with an ain't ish phuck boy, Lance had to school her to the at of dealing with a real man who didn't mind catering to his woman and doing things he wouldn't usually do just to see her smile. He also got her to communicate her true feelings, letting her know that her feelings were valid. These two built a friendship that quickly turned into them falling in love fast and hard. They were definitely made for each other and I enjoyed watching their love blossom. Although That ending was perfect and still wasn't more of then💕🙏🏽

Soaring
I love the fact that the story had minimal theater and no thirsty thots in this story. Milani's husband Howard was a no-good trash bucket. But what should we expect with the name Howard? Milani was a top model and could do better than her husband, the cheating professional athlete. After her divorce and when she met Lance,who was also an athlete, I did not expect him to make it into Lani's heart. But, yay, and hallelujah!!!! Lance had the right mindset to keep Lani soaring to new heights. I think this is my first read and a good read by this author. I will be back for more books.

My heart broke for Milani, after learning of Howard's betrayal! She was done this time, for real for real! It was a tough road to find herself again, but she did it and felt proud of her accomplishments. It was so sweet when Milani met Lance. They both had admired the other from afar, but had never had the pleasure of meeting in person. It was love at first sight for both; although Milani was leery, due to her past with Howard. She threw up so many roadblocks for Lance, that I was wondering if he would continue his pursuit. So, glad he did, as they were so perfect together. Good read! 👍👍👍

Dedication
This was my first read by this author and it won’t be my last. I love a great second chance romance and this was great! Love that Lance knew what he wanted and didn’t play no games with Milani. I do understand her cautiousness though. Her ex was trash! Now let’s talk about that dedication at the beginning I would like to say THANK YOU because I’m am she and she is me with the trash ex 😂…can’t wait to find my own Lance….

A very sweet insta love after heartbreak romance. Milani had been through the ringer in her first marriage and this love after heartbreak with Lance was just what she needed. I believe this author is still getting into her groove writing. At times the POVs confused me, there were areas i wanted more detail (especially surrounding the interview, wanted to see that in real time), and other times too much detail on not so important events (everyday routine items etc). At its core the love story was cute and I would give this author another read.

As Talena Tillman stated in her author’s note she just keeps getting better with every release! I have loved every one of her books and this release was no different. Lance and Lani were a beautiful couple who faced ups and downs but came out on top in the end!
I read this book in one sitting. At 5% I knew this book was a five ⭐️ read. I hadn’t met Lance yet, but Milani captured my heart from the beginning. She was so strong and even though she faced a troubling reality she kept her crown firmly in place. Lance was everything even from their first experience. He was honestly such a great dude he had the hood in him (that Mrs. Tillman is known for😏) however he was also a sweet and loving family man. Most importantly he was definitely what Milani needed.
Now although my review thus far has been tame, I must say Lance and Lani were nassssty😝 it was in a sweet way but ummm… yeah… those sex scenes😂. I was fanning myself a few times during this read. That being said the connection between these two was explosive and definitely full of obstacles that seemed to be never ending but love eventually won out.
I love everything by Talena because the characters are so relatable and understandable. This was a love story that so many people have lived through and although they were celebrities, they still had real life struggles. I hope to have more from them as well as the side characters because there is so much potential!

I just love when the mmc has clear intentions and stand on everything he says.
Milani Davis was heartbroken, and unsure if she would trust again, I’m so glad she gave Lance a chance.
This was a well paced novella.

Whew!
This author is new to me and i’m looking forward to exploring her other books. Lance was a real one from the jump. Like literally played no games with Milani or about her. I’m glad that she found love again & had enough self-awareness (& pressure from Lance) to realize being so guarded could have her losing out on a real one. A quick cute little story! My only complaint isss i wish it was longer and could have read about them being parents.

I love me some Lance! That man knew what he wanted and went after Lani with intention. Even though things got a little frustrating when Lani was holding back, I adored how Lance took the time to reaffirm her and encourage her to let him love her right. This was an A1 read from Tillman, but I'm not surprised. She never misses.

Y’all I don’t even know where to begin because this one right here gave me the feels. Milani, you were a better woman than me and Howard surely didn’t deserve you. You gave him 3 chances and he still couldn’t do right by you and that in itself shows he was never meant to have you. Cause had it been me after the 2nd time we was gonna wrap it up and see each other in court. Cause who!!! Chyyyyy!!! You were such a beautiful, thoughtful, kind and sweet soul and I’m glad you finally realized he didn’t love you. 3 years later my MAN, MY man, MY MAN come on Lance. Cause BIG LANCE not no little one. Lance told Milani, he been wanted her and she never knew until he stepped and put down. Even though she was silently wanting him. When he said he was gonna get her, he meant it and stood on business behind her. I loved that he knew she had been scarred because of her ex and he was so patient and loving and kind with her and she NEEDED that. He left no room for error and told her if there was something she wanted or something she wanted him to do, to say and it would happen. And I’ll be damned if that man didn’t do what he said he would do and mean it. This story was a grown man putting down and doing exactly what was necessary and needed to show up for the woman he wanted. Lance was not playing with Milani and when she realized he wasn’t, it was on GO afterwards. Loved these 2 story Miss MaMas.

This is a really good story that is beautifully written, but the ending was an Epilogue a year later and it felt rushed. There were things that happened in it that that needed more details. Hopefully there will be a book 2.

I love me an insta-love story and this one did not disappoint. Lance & Lani were so cute together and gave grown love vibes with no drama or mess. I loved their chemistry, how sure Lance was about Lani from the jump, and how gentle he was with helping her rebuild her trust. Lani’s strength and independence stood out to me, and Lance was THAT MAN.
This was an easy, drama-free romance with instant-love vibes, which I loved. I liked the message about healing after heartbreak and not letting people control your life. My only complaint is I needed way more pages of these two because it just wasn’t enough.

4.5⭐️ When Prayers Get Answered
I mean what better way to heal a broken heart than by getting the man you been really praying for ?!? That’s how I felt about Milani & Lance. Milani ex worked my nerves so bad IMMEDIATELY! I said she definitely has to be getting a MAJOR upgrade after dealing with him, and that she did! Loved how Lance was patient but FIRM with her at the same time. Connection UNDENIABLE! Loved that! And I loved how ownership was claimed the moment access was granted ! Loved how everything just ended up being full circle for them both.

Lance is everything a woman could dream of any more. I love the male characters that don’t play games and go after their women with good intentions. He was patient with her and understanding of her past. I just started reading this authors books and she’s already becoming a favorite. Everyone deserves a Lance. Such a beautiful story of overcoming obstacles of trust and heart break. Ciara’s Prayer is one I tweak and recite daily. Cause whew it’s rough in these dating streets. Milani girl you’re amazing through and through. Your perseverance to love even though you’ve been through the ringer with love from a young age to as an adult. You found your king. 💗💗💗

2nd Time Around
This was a great read! This author’s growth was so present in her writing style. "One man's problem is another man's promise!", is the perfect way to describe this beautiful story. So much was conquered by both main characters. The gems flowed throughout, with lessons to carry for life. Great job!

Great Story
This was a beautiful love journey. I felt the insecurities the Milani was experiencing. Howard truly did a number on her heart but the blessing that she prayed for came in the form of Lance Knight. He was so patient and understanding. He was the picture perfect example of love. I definitely recommend this book.

This was a short stranger love story. It was quick and to the point. It’s two celebrities who meet and fall in love fast. She carried a lot of hurt and he had all the healing patience and power. What I took away from the story was the importance of communication. Communication was the foundation of their relationship.

This was a great short story to read. Malani was broken and hurt from her cheating ex-husband. Lance was a famous basketball player looking for the right woman to love. Even though Malani was scared to love again, Lance showed her how a real man treats a woman. Short sweet love story.

Past hurts
Milani had a bad marriage that did a number on her, she couldn't trust a man's intentions. Lance Knight walked into her life and made her feel things she didn't expect and didn't know if she could trust. She just had to purge those past hurts to accept the man who she prayed for.
