Walker: A Gripping Supernatural Thriller

Before the myth, there was the truth.

On a road trip to Baker City and the mountains of Oregon, Shady Groves, Ray Bartlett and their friends are looking forward to a few days’ vacation. On the way, they make an unscheduled motel stop where Shady encounters Missy Davenport, the proprietor, an old photograph of Missy too, and her family, horror attached to it.

Arriving in Baker City, they stay at the Grand Willmott before heading into the wilderness, another photograph down a gloomy corridor there, this time of ten men in animal masks, armed with pitchforks, so at odds with the hotel’s luxury surroundings.

Two photographs in less than 24-hours, both of which unsettle her.
But is that the only connection?

Piece by piece, Shady will find there’s more to the photographs than she could ever imagine. And that creatures of myth and legend, hybrids , could be responsible for a spate of missing people, including Brandi Hadley, the most recent person from Baker City and the local area to disappear without trace.

This book was good but, not one of my favourite Shani Struthers' tales I'm afraid. The Skinwalker phenomenon is widely known and feared amongst certain native American tribes. The idea of misguided and "respectable" citizens buying into this cult I found difficult to accept. True, they may have been wanabee satanic minded individuals but their modus operandi, to me at least, didn't ring true. I don't like the very idea of hunting for sport so, perhaps I cannot fully appreciate the nuances of the book's plot. Rant over and, after all, it was a good read.

Well worth the read - as always

Excellent read for those that enjoy this genre and Shani Struthers is the mistress of supernatural thrillers. For those that enjoy mysteries like the Curse of Skinwalker Ranch this story centres around the legend of the skinwalker with an interesting interpretation of what the myth says this creature is. It also tells what could be the very real story of a small town with hidden secrets and the actions of a few individuals caught up in the insane grip of a mad man that rippled down the decades involving murder and disappearances that leaves the reader wondering who the real monster is in all of this.

Another well written and exciting instalment of the shady groves saga. This one follows shady from her home town on a camping trip with friends which leads down a rabbit hole to another town, missing people whose disappearances span decades and ends up with shady trying to pieces the puzzle together whilst plagued with visions of cults and skin walkers with a nail biting finale to boot.

Another great book by shani struthers. I love the series of books with Shady in and this one is definitely one of my favourites. There was so many twists and turns I thought my theory of what happened was right but of course I was totally wrong. I can't wait for the next book

As always this another great book by an amazing author. It was great to learn more about Shady and her abilities as well as Annie and Ray. You can always tell that the travels the author takes are included and immersed within the story which I enjoy even more. Great read.

Brilliant

Just love this author.
Every book can be stand alone but it's lovely how in each book the characters develope ,so highly recommend reading the series from the start.
This book is about friendship,and doing what is right and trusting yourself .

Very good book. Had a lost of suspense which I love. Really loved the story but then Shaney Struthers never disappoint s me. I have read many of her books and will continue to.
