We took turns, walking away. But somehow, we’ve still ended up here. On stage, together, in front of tens of thousands of people. Him holding a guitar, me a microphone. Singing the song I wrote that launched my career and dubbed me the princess of pop music.
The song about him.
Maybe we were inevitable from the start. To love. To dream. To end.

My least favourite book from this author. I didn’t put it down, but I was bored for quite some time and the heroine was a bit too much for me (too mean, too undecided). There was no good reason why these two couldn’t be together so I didn’t buy the conflict.
So this one is probably my least favourite so far by this author, and let me just say it was still really good! I think this was one of her very first books so I can see how far she's come. I was still very much hooked on this, as I always am. But I guess it just felt like it was missing a bit of that amazing chemistry that we see in the rest of C.W. Farnsworth's book.
That being said, I did still love this and would recommend it to anyone looking for a lighthearted and fun read!
Sutton and Teddy have a long and complicated history and that made for an angsty and tension-filled story. Normally in this situation, I would love the flashback scenes to really get a feel for the history ans characters, but it didn't seem necessary here and honestly just made the story drag a bit. And even at less than 300 pages, the story did feel a little long, but I appreciated the chemistry buildup between the two and how quick this was to read.
If you know my book taste you can probably expect I’d be all over a story like this, and it was exactly like that since its first announcement.
Unfortunately, I couldn’t get that attached to the main characters and therefore the couple itself. The plot is such an amazing idea and I still had so much fun and enjoyed myself a lot reading — I honestly can’t pinpoint what made me not get that involved with them. Though, I feel like the whole stepsister dilemma was dragged more than I’d liked, and that made an impact on my enjoyment of the story.
The last two chapters were the absolute highlight, this book couldn’t have ended in a best way and that made so happy. Sutton’s scene with her dad was the only one that made me shed a few tears, and that’s an example of how perfect those last few moments were.
I very much enjoy C.W. Farnsworth’s books, and I’m always coming back to read more from her. ‘Heartbreak for Two’ was still worth it and I liked getting to know this story, inspite of what I mentioned earlier.

This is a (very) slightly angsty second chance romance I would say. ''will it finally happen'' type shit. From the very beginning it’s OBVIOUS that they have a strong connection and chemistry, that's been there from the moment they first met, 8 years ago.
I liked the forced proximity between them (as he was on her tour with her)
Teddy was the sweetest <3 I also always skim through the ''past'' chapters in books, but I read it all in this book, so there is that!
''I'm not hers. I'm yours, June'' ''I don't think of you as hers. I think of you as mine. That’s most of the problem, Johnny”
It was close to having a star off because after awhile Sutton was just being stupid as that angst wore on so did my interest. Good thing I was truly vested in these characters. Great job, C.W.

Best second chance romance book I've read so far.
Teddy and Sutton's connection is very evident from the beginning of their story, but fate had other plans and made these next door sweethearts go through a rough road. Teddy's then girlfriend becomes Sutton's step sister which became like a forbidden story. She even promised she wouldn't go for him, which is dumb considering they were no longer together. Sutton grabs onto the opportunity to become a pop star and leaves the small town and Teddy, the love of her life, while he becomes a math teacher at the same school they studied in. (Their math story was so cute!!! Reminded me of Mean Girls xD)
When Sutton returns to the small town for a memorial service, Teddy and her connect once again. They go around a world tour for her concert and they way they reconnect during that was amazing to read. The places they visited and the things they did!! Amazing. A Must Read.
This was my first time reading this author but I was in the mood for some angst so I gave this a try. Farnsworth creates a story that sucks readers in effortlessly. The characters tugged on your heartstrings while also making you want to shake them for being so stubborn. I liked that the girl was the celebrity here, usually its the other way around. It was refreshing. This also reminded me a bit of the movie, Beyond the Lights. The story does slow a bit in the middle mostly because of obstacles to the relationship but otherwise I had no issue with the pacing. Very angsty and lovely story. Would recommend for angst lovers, celebrity romance, small town romance, childhood sweethearts, second chance romance and emotional love stories.

C.W. Farnsworth has won me over the last two months, and all of her books have stolen my heart in a different way. I found Teddy and Sutton's story harder to get into than the author's other books but, once I was into it I didn't want to put it down! This was a good second chance romance.
Teddy and Sutton met when Sutton's life changed for what she thought was the worst. Being a new person in town is never easy but, when the guy you are attracted to starts dating your stepsister, things can become even harder. Things change but, Sutton promised she would never go for Teddy and she was standing by her word.
Sutton decides to follow her dreams and become a singer, leaving Teddy behind to follow his version of his dreams. When she comes back after 8 years for a funeral, Teddy could not be more shocked to see her. Can they jump the hurdles this time and make things work?

One of my favorite types of books are the ones where they knew each other years before, and they actually flash back to the past. Those chapters are what really makes me feel the connection between the main characters, and this one was done so perfectly! This book was extremely well-written, and CW Farnsworth is quickly becoming one of my favorites!
Teddy and Sutton were destined to be together. Their chemistry was off the charts, and they've just always gravitated towards each other, even when they didn't necessarily want to. I loved all the angst and jealousy, and just everything about it. This one is highly recommended with more than five stars!
okay but the whole concept was so good. like her writing a song about him and getting famous?? them serving best friends to kind of lovers to strangers ?? then not seeing each other for the next 7 years?? and then him being her guitarist while shes on tour???
Sutton made Teddy feel like an afterthought for 8 YEARS!!!! I get that he’s her step sister’s ex but the girl is getting married and Sutton keeps using her as an excuse! I’m glad Teddy left and made her “chase” him ( I say “chase” bc that man is so in love with her) 🫶
Such a cute story. Dang this makes you mind sometimes because how could someone be so stupid but it ends up beautifully! I love it I would probably read again at some point. I definitely recommend.
Thank you C.W. Farnsworth because I can always count on you to get me out of a reading slump, no matter if I'm re reading one of my favorite stories or if I'm reading something for the first time, like this one.
This book was so sweet💕 I’m not the biggest second chance romance fan but this one was cute. The main characters did drive me a bit nuts but the story was very sweet
No. I had so many issues with this book. Every trope out there is in here. The characters were superficial and extremely focused on the past. The sex scenes were just over the top and read more like lust rather than love. After I read the first paragraph, I knew exactly what would happen so the book was boring.
This storyline's primary theme is about being brave enough to take the leap...
...and, it is, by far, the most beautiful representation of love between two people and re way their hearts were always meant to be together in a story disguised as one about heartbreak.
C. W. Farnsworth always seems to write her female lead characters as slightly dense, insecure where love and relationships are concerned, and absolutely petrified of being hurt and rejected. Sutton seems particularly prone toward self sacrificing behavior, which her selfish, very jealous step sister Ellie took unfair advantage of when she forced Sutton to promise to never become romantically involved with Teddy. That girl never stopped being self serving, only conceding her "approval" after she had a husband in the bag, and continuing to object to Sutton and Teddy being together would turn Sutton's adoring fans into a possible nightmare for Ellie and Eric's future professional and financial success. I loved this book! I only wish I'd read it sooner (I was afraid the heartbreak was gonna be more devastating and final); I rank it nearly as wonderfully satisfying as First Fall, Final Flight (Saylor and Beck were awesome) -- Teddy, while not the international football/soccer sensation Adler Beck was, shared Beck's fierce determination and commitment to loving, fighting for, and locking down the love of his life. Very hot, way sexy, perfect male specimens. Hmm - both ladies were blonde, gorgeous, and talented. I think our author has distinct characteristics that thread through her featured leads. Anyway, five stars! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
This author is quickly becoming one of my must-read authors. I find her stories are not the norm and those are the stories that intrigues me most. I just loved Sutton and Teddy even though their story broke my heart! I loved how Sutton became the celebrity and Teddy led the normal life. The story goes back and forth between the past and the present ... which draws out their heart-breaking story. The best line in the whole book is when Teddy says "You are my favorite dream, June" ... swoon!
When Sutton's mom leaves, Sutton moves with her dad to live with her grandfather in small town Wisconsin. At seventeen, Sutton thought her life was over ... until she meets the boy next door. Even though he has a girlfriend, they become fast friends and give each other the nicknames Johnny and June after their favorite singer. But Teddy's girlfriend eventually becomes Sutton's step-sister, so after high school Sutton moves away. Sutton goes on to become a princess of pop while Teddy stays behind to become a teacher at the high school where he met Sutton. Their story is like no other and had me rooting for them to have a happily-ever-after.

One of my favorite tropes is second chance romance and when it comes with a side of forbidden and it's a rock star romance too? Well, you can't really go wrong there.
Sutton and Teddy met at seventeen and their connection was instant, but sometimes a connection or chemistry or maybe even love just isn't enough. There were obstacles and dreams in their way. Sutton's dreams came true. The song that she wrote about Teddy launched her to stardom. Now, they find themselves thrown back together. Can they rewrite their ending?
This was very much a comfort read for me. It has some drama, but it's not overly angsty. I felt an immediate connection to both Teddy and Sutton, although I did find myself getting frustrated with Sutton a time or two. There was just enough of the past thrown into this story to paint the picture, but the majority of this story takes place in the present and I prefer that sometimes. This story contains the perfect mix of swoonworthy romance and steamy times, and I found myself getting fully engrossed in Teddy and Sutton's relationship. Loved this second chance, rock star romance!
No he conseguido empatizar con ella.
Here we have Sutton and Teddy who have always loved each other but there was never a right time . 9 years later Sutton is a pop star and Teddy is teaching at the school they both went too.
What I love. We get to see how isolating the music industry is for Sutton. The heroine is the famous one. Teddy is obsessed with Sutton and is not afraid to tell her what he wants. They are friends before they are lovers and even when they are lovers you have a really strong friendship that just improves the relationship. Shows the complexities of hybrid families.
The reason why I knocked it a half a star was Sutton at time could be a bit repetitive.
