She suspects everyone of everything. Except her oldest friend. Who's found next to a body. Holding the murder weapon.

For the first time, things are just right for cemetery owner Jane Ladling. Her cat only kind of hates her sort of boyfriend, Special Agent Conrad Ryan, and she isn't flat broke. When she's asked to host a murder mystery fundraiser for the people of Aurelian Hills, Georgia, she'd totally on board. Champagne, intrigue, and community. Yes, please. Then game night happens and a fake murder turns into a red one, leaving her mentor and knitting buddy Fiona at the top of the suspect list, with heir best pal Beau a close second. Oops?

Jane's not about to leave the fate of her loves one to, well, fate. On the hunt for clues, she turns the small town upside down. As scandalous secrets surface, a single truth becomes clear: if she doesn't solve the murder fast, Jane will be the next victim.

When I got the email asking me if I wanted to read an arc for this book, I didn't know how fast to reply with YES! Jane Ladling is amazing. These books are amazing. The murder mysteries are really entertaining and I just had to know what was going to happen now. So, I really had to hold myself back when my arc came in, because I actually wanted to read it right away. But today I FINALLY COULD! And I wish the book was longer so I could have enjoyed it longer.

Jane is, without a doubt, one of my favorite main characters in a book EVER! She's incredibly funny, she has a unique way of thinking that I'm starting to understand, she has a great way of solving mysteries. And even though it's maybe not the official way, she's learning fast and she's getting more and more effective each book. And despite all her unique features, she's also very human, with flaws and insecurities and wishes and wants and dreams.

With each and every book I'm also falling more and more in love with the town and the people in it, even if they think Jane is weird (and I might understand where that comes from). It's quite clear that all those murders are digging up a lot of issues and history and it feels like we learn a lot of new and amazing stuff in each and every book. And with everything that's going on, I'm quite sure that there are a lot more mysteries to write!

Just like it's quite clear that there is still a lot of work to do when it comes to the romance. Slowly I'm getting more and more curious how real the curse is. Does it really exist? Is Jane's fear there for a reason? Or has history simply been a coincidence and is our police officer right that the curse only exists because the Ladling ladies believe it exists? However, the result is a delicious slow build romance and I can't wait to get more of it!

Read this review on Got Fiction? Book Blog

This installment brings us ever closer to Conrad and Jane becoming a couple. If you haven’t started this series, I’ll give a quick recap (also, why haven’t you? It’s such a fun series!). Jane Ladling aka Cemetery Girl to her small town inhabitants,is the caretaker of an old cemetery that’s been in her family for generations. She lives in a small home on the property, and drives a hearse. She has a large and fabulous dress and hat collection, and a small collection of also fabulous friends. She’s the odd quirky girl in town, and she’s okay with that. Maybe. Mostly. But because of the Ladling Curse, she tells herself she shouldn’t get close to anyone anyway and it’s for the best. Ladling Curse states that when the Ladling women find love, their true loves will never last, and the men will die. Enter Detective Conrad Ryan. He doesn’t believe in curses, but he does believe in Jane. And he’s willing to be patient.

This is a Cozy Mystery series, so a la Jessica Fletcher or Nancy Drew, we have a quirky and smart heroine who helps solve the crimes. And of course, the crimes always seem to center around Jane. So this book opens with a costume-themed murder mystery party, with certain people having assigned roles, and others there as guests. It’s a fundraiser and a big town event. Until the scream of the person finding the dead body comes from the wrong direction, and it isn’t the right character. Oh and it’s a real dead body. Yikes.

The number one suspect is Jane’s best friend Fiona, since she is who found the body. But through Jane’s usual chaotic investigating, she winds up making a lot of people mad…and she makes a new friend. She doesn’t want to have another friend because she doesn’t know how to do that, but she and her new friend Lucy really get along well. The biggest problem is that Lucy is also a suspect. Meanwhile, Beau, her head of security and one of her few friends, has his own situation going on that I fully expect to have a Romantic Suspense novel pretty please. Or at the very least his own novella in this series. It’s got the makings of enemies to lovers all over it!

While trying to prove Fiona’s and Lucy’s innocence, Jane and Conrad get closer and closer, and Conrad is a gem, you guys. Such a great hero. I hope the next book gives us so much more of the two of them. This ending though! I can’t spoil this, but there’s a lot going on still and I can’t wait for the next book. I need to know what’s going on.

In typical Cozy Mystery fashion, there’s a death, a nosy busybody, a heroine who helps solve the crime, and a fabulous cat sidekick named Rolex. If you love cozies, this is for you. If you enjoy fun reads, this is for you. If you enjoy aloof cats who have so much personality they take over the page, this is for you. In case you can’t tell, I’m telling you all to go read this book!

three stars! ⋆ ˚。⋆୨୧˚ the cover for this one is so freakin adorable, my lord. i wanna own all the books just for the covers tbh! i adore them. this one was probably my least favorite plot wise, but all of the little jane/conrad moments definitely made up for it <33 the end made me so happy! there’s gonna be a christmas novella and i’m so stoked for that to come out! this installment also made me wish we were getting a beau spin-off, bc the man is a complete mystery and i love him so much. these books are honestly really fun, quick reads, and i’m so glad i picked them up!

Can this dynamic author duo write a bad story? The answer is “no”. We have another funny yet intrigued cozy mystery that deals with our favorite cemetery owner and special agent. I really liked how things were heating up for the couple but still staying true to its cozy mystery roots. The mystery was interesting and gripping and I will continue to read these books as long as they are written.

Almost as good as the first 2 but some little things are starting to get a little annoying.

Since it is a series but the story is confined in a little time space some things that might not seem so annoying in a bigger book start to appear.

The recurring themes of the curse, the deaths that are always too close to her, the whole she is smarter than cops and FBI agents, everything is getting a little too much.

The friendships are still amazing and the relationships too so it is still a good series, just getting a little harder to enjoy as much as the others.

* I would recommend reading the other books in the series first before dipping into this one.

For the first time since a long while, Jane feels like she on the top of her game. Her cat Rolex only kinda hates her almost-boyfriend Conrad, she is not completely broke and with her first murder-mystery event coming up, even her business, even if it is a graveyard is growing a bit. But on the event, a body of her ex-lawyer is found, with her best friend standing next to it with the murder weapon in her hand. So Jane is called to the rescue again, having to solve this murder as well.

This book is definitely the most sizzling on the romance department thus far. The sparks between Conrad and Jane fly more freely with every entry and this book is so steaming hot you expect them to finally catch fire. Jane is her quirky, weird self and I think this book is just long enough to not make her totally annoying and whiny. I do hope we get past the 'curse' business in the next book, as it is starting to get a bit redundant, I think I just want some Gena and Jill magic to create this steamy, steaaaaamy romance this is starting to get into.

I really am enjoying this cozy mystery series. It's a fun, easy read, and a nice break from all the dark and heavy books I usually gravitate towards. I honestly love how Jill and Gena write together, they make it look effortless.

This third installment in the Jane Ladling Mystery series was just as delightful and over the top as the first two. Jane is back and ready to solve her third murder. I love how confident she is in her detective skills, even though she is like the least appropriate person for the job. I will say—I think this might be my favorite of the three. We finally get more romance in this one, no more love triangle, and even though the romance is still secondary to the main storyline, I really enjoyed it.

The crime solving part of the story was, as always, super fun. We are left with a few questions at the end, which has me intrigued for the next book, and Jill and Gena managed to surprise me with a pretty great twist at the end! Bring it on!

Disclaimer: I was able to read an early copy of this book as I work for the author.

Not one, not two but now three murders at the Garden of Memories. Who better than to solve the case than the worlds best, maybe almost PI Jane Ladling.

What can I say about this book than it’s just another great addition to the series by these authors. As a new victim is found, disrupting the fake murder mystery night she is hosting, Jane jumps right in to investigating, throwing accusations, moving suspects up and down her list and avoiding telling inspector Detective Special Agent Conrad Ryan that she loves him. Cause you know… the curse will surely ruin everything for them.

Jane’s mind is a glorious study of too many tabs open, 2 of them playing music and one a YouTube video about how to console your cat when he thinks you are not paying him enough attention. She suspects and then removes suspicion so fast it give you whiplash. This book was exactly what I wanted from the authors. We see more of the romance between Jane and Conrad plus get some maybe love action for Beau. Not to mention all the things left unsolved.

I can’t wait for the next one so see who did the things.

The books are definitely improving. This one was shorter than the previous two but the pace is picking up. Suspects from books 1 & 2 return as this small town and ancestral cemetery continue to be a hotbed of crime. Jane and Conrad continue to move forward ever so slowly toward a solid relationship though Jane is terrified. However, Conrad and Fiona, through patience, love, and loyalty, are slowly showing her the curse is based on fear and abandonment. The book does cover her issues with a panic disorder at the thought of more losses in her life.

The murder mystery was fine, Beau and his team play more of a role in this one and I’m sure we’ll be seeing much more of them in future books. The ending was a giant teaser for big changes on the horizon.

Third times the charm, at least that's what they say. Will Jane finally be convinced of a murder? Or will that honor go to one of her best friends, Fiona or Beau? Is this how the curse will take her away from the man she loves for good? Does Rolex behave himself and stop clawing up the house and the guests? Find out when you dive into game night where murder becomes real and the suspects are many. Can you figure out who did it and why? Remember games have many twists and turns so get ready to search for clues and solve the puzzle!

Was given an ARC from the authors, Gena and Jill, to read for an honest review

ANOTHER SWEET AS PIE KNOCKOUT 💙

Jane my precious bean, I’m really proud of how her sleuthing skills have improved because she actually sucked this one all on her own! I feel bad about Lucy but maybe there was good reason?…

Conrad is the bar. He’s sweet and charming and doesn’t take her shit and is patient and kind.

Beau is the sweetest and I ship him and Sora so hard.

Fiona and Raymond are finally a thing and I adore it!

Now we just need to get the three hotties to pair up and my life is complete 😭

This series is genuinely a hoot. Tons of comedy and wackiness but also crime solving and romance ?! It’s really really good honestly

3rd in the series of quirky Cemetery owner Jane Ladling. A murder mystery night at the cemetery turns real and her friends are the main suspects. Jane must go all Miss Marple to save them. Plenty of red herrings and suspects are abound. Jane’s romance with Special Agent Conrad moves to the next level the curse in her family may put a damper on it. A lovely cozy mystery to guess who done it and a lovely lead in to the next story.

A funny, quirky but very endearing character.

Jane Landling is known as the cemetery girl, brought up by her grandparents in a house situated next to a cemetery (which the family owns and operates) Jane was a very lonely child growing up, other kids found her creepy. Jane never let it get to her, sure it must have hurt but Jane refused to let other people's opinions of her matter she grew u into a very strong independent woman who needs no one's approval for her life choices. Jane drives around town in a hearse, fully embracing her cemetery girl persona. She has never looked for a relationship (well ok she looked twice) afraid the family curse would see the man she gave her heart to abandon her, and Jane has had enough of that in her life, no She is going to stay single, relationship free. Then a dead body is found in her graveyard (see book one) and she meets Detective Conrad Ross and her heart does a crazy litter patter in her chest. But Jane Vows to remain strong whatever it takes she will not call in love with him. No matter how amazing he is. But murder before romance suspected of murder Jane must first clear her name and find the real killer. That's how book one begins and in book two lightning strikes again as another body is found in the graveyard, Jane is flummoxed by all the attention, people still believe there is good buried in the cemetery along with the deadly departed. Jane feels good bound to investigate again -------- and she enjoyed herself last time------- . Now Jane is taking advantage of her new found notoriety and throwing a murder mystery event in the cemetery when (you guessed it) a scream breaks the silence signalling another dead body, another murder victim. But this time it's Jane's friends who are considered suspects __------------- so there's no way she will not put her detectives hat on again. …................. Jane is a gem of a character, a woman with a heart of gold who lives in her own slightly eccentric world has a charming manner and an insatiable curiosity. She loves dressing up, always wears a hat (as do i) and is sometimes known to talk too much. Conrad fell for her the moment they met but Jane's belief in the Curse stops their relationship from progressing as he'd like but he's willing to take his time Jane is totally worth waiting for. These books are also fun of several ancillary characters who really add to the fun.

You would think that, after the last two life-ending incidents in her cemetery, Jane Ladling could catch a break. But when another body turns up under her watch, and her friends are all prime suspects, Jane knows she can't rest until the real culprit is caught and her friends are safe.

Jane Ladling is truly becoming my go-to for cozy mysteries. Between Jane's quirky personality, her weird yet wonderful town, the love she has for her friends, and the ever-growing love she has for Special Agent Conrad Ryan (even if she tries to deny it), Jane's adventures always put a smile on my face along with the occasional head shake.

Jane is the kind of character who is adorably awkward yet ferociously loyal, and we're all a little worse off for not having a friend like her.

Gena and Jill have crafted such a fun cast of characters for this series, and I love diving a little bit more into each of their stories with each new book. While Jane is obviously the star of the show, her supporting cast (both friend and foe) truly gets the page time they deserve. I love Fiona and Beau, and I end each book in this series wanting their happily ever after almost as much as I want Jane's. Both see just how special Jane is, and they will do anything - especially if it's questionable or maybe not even legal - to help her when she needs it.

Of course, no one sees how special Jane is quite like Conrad. Our swoony Special Agent is back, trying harder than ever to woo Jane and make her see past her family's supposed curse regarding love. I absolutely love Conrad. As much as he kept his thoughts close to his chest in the first couple of books, we're really starting to see more of his inner workings by this third book, and it's so clear just how much he loves Jane. Really the only thing I don't like about Jane as a character is how much she's fighting her attraction to Conrad.

Since the story is all from Jane's point of view, and many in town don't trust her with the whole story, it's fun to try and piece everything together right along with Jane. Gena and Jill definitely give readers plenty of suspects, and, as always, I didn't have any idea who the true culprit was until Jane was able to figure it out.

A fantastic new addition to the series, Game of Gravestones brought me closer to all these beloved characters. I can't wait to see what comes next for Jane, Conrad, and their friends/found family.

This series is just so much fun! These books just suck me and won't let me go until I reach the very last page.

We start our newest mystery at a 1920s-themed murder mystery party. When of course another body is discovered. This person isn't really one that's going to be missed and that leaves us no end to the number of suspects with Fiona and Beau taking the number one spots. So we all know what that means! Jane is on the case, and she won't stop badgering, stalking, and generally making a nuisance of herself until the real killer is caught.

Jane has her work cut out for her, especially when two of her main suspects actually hire her to prove who dun it... Jane takes us on a twisty ride as her brain makes the strangest and most bizarre connections that always end up leading us straight to the killer. I love trying to follow Janes's logic and figure out who the killer is!

I love her relationships with her friends they are all so loyal to each other it's really heartwarming. I also love what's happening between her and Conrad. Every time he does something that worms its way into Janes's heart he's like oh don't worry about falling in love with me, I snore. Or I don't care which way the toilet paper roll goes. It really defuses the tension Jane is feeling with falling in love despite the curse and is good for some more laugh-out-loud moments.

I can't wait to read the next book!

I will say this until I'm blue in the face - Lane Ladling is one of my favourite characters. Ever. Her quirkiness and humour just calls to me and I always finish an instalment with the warmest feeling in my heart. I adored both previous instalments and you can read my review for Romancing the Gravestone (book one) here and No Gravestone Left Unturned (book two) here- both five star reviews, by the way.

Game of Gravestones is the latest instalment in the Jane Ladling Mystery series and of course, there's been another murder, but fear not - Jane is on the case! Her plan to solve the mystery? Befriend everyone with a cat and make playdates between Rolex and other cats....duh. Between Jane, Fiona, Conrad, Beau and the three hunks, there is never a dull moment here - and there's even new character's who pop up and become frequent throughout.

This cosy mystery series is heavily focused on plot and characters so I was pleasantly surprised when there was a smidgen more romance here - flirty banter and a first date with Conrad. There was romantic progress here (and did I sniff a love interest for Beau too?!) and it was my favourite thing about this book. Conrad has me in a chokehold and I'm not even mad.

"I love you, Jane Ladling, and I'm never letting you go."

Major swoon, right?!

I want to start out by saying thank you to Gena Showalter and Jill Monroe for sending me an arc in exchange for a honest review!

What do you do when your two closest friends are suspected of muder?

You do the only thing you can do.

You solve the case!

We return to Aurelian Hills, where Jane has jumped at the chance to host a murder mystery fundraiser! Things don't go as planned and a real body has been discovered. Could Jane's closet friend truly be the one who held the murder weapon?

Of course not! Armed with her notebook Jane will leave No Gravestone Unturned in her pursuit for the truth!

You really got more of a feel for Aurelian Hills in this one. You get to explore more of the town and its scandalous inhabitants. I loved seeing just how much team truth has grown and you truly can feel how they have all become family. I just adore these characters so much!

Conrad had me swooning the whole book! I mean, if he don't make your heart want to melt. Sorry Jane but I'm gonna steal Conrad and Beau!

It's so fun to see how chaotic Jane's brain works in such an interesting way to solve each case. It really keeps the story so intriguing and its constantly pulling you in. And can we just appreciate Jane's confidence! Love it! You can't help but support Jane and be completely bewildered by her at the same time!

Some new blossoming relationships had me smirking. They are so cute! The Jane Ladling mystery series are always such a joy to read and what wild ride jane takes us on!

If you like a light hearted, warm and fuzzy, mystery with an outrageous female lead you can't help but love and support, this series is for you!

Well....she's at it again! The adorably clueless Jane Ladling, aka Cemetary Girl, aka the best, almost, sort of amateur sleuth is on the case when someone dies during a murder mystery party held in her graveyard. She is determined to solve this case quickly....even if she does think everyone in town is guilty. Except for her friend who was found standing over the body and holding a knife. No way she could have done it. Jane's also working hard to avoid thinking the "L-word" about her adorably cute (boy)friend, Special Agent Conrad Ryan, aka City Boy, aka Agent Spice.

"City boys and cursed cemetery girls didn't get forever..." - Jane Ladling

Jane's already successfully solved two mysteries, surely she can solve this one without too much trouble...and with lots of conjecture.

OMGoodness!! This is the best series. It's fun and funny and Jane's suspect tangents kept me entertained, and guessing, until the end. I love, errr...really like Jane, her cat Rolex and his murder mittens, Conrad, Fiona, Beau (aka Team Truth)....and everyone in Aurelian Hills.

Jane really needs a best girl friend (I volunteer).
Now I need some chicken and rice casserole. Or blueberry pancakes. And where's my hat?

Many thanks to the author for an advance copy of this book. My thoughts and opinions are my own and without bias or favor or expectation.

In this next installment of the series, Jane is having a Murder-Mystery party at her cemetery to raise funds. She figures with the security upgrades as well as the security staff on the grounds, things will be just fine.
Boy is she wrong! Her cemetery seems to be a magnet for murder! This time her BFF is over the dead body. Now Jane feels it's imperative to prove her friend's innocence.
Jane's stream of consciousness to solve the murder, is enough to make anyone near her dizzy. She is truly not trained for this sort of thing and has an incredible naivete. She's also stressing, because she is starting to develop feelings for Conrad. She is terrified of the family curse, and doesn't want anything to happen to him.
There are Red Herrings galore, and Jane is persistent to follow up with each lead, until she can eliminate it.
Her friend Beau, is harboring a secret, and that is driving Jane crazy.
Conrad is so swoony, in this story, that I may make my husband read this book and take notes.
This book is like a piece of your favorite pie. You want to savor it, but you also want to devour the entire thing, because it's so enjoyable.
Thank you to Gena Showalter for the advanced copy.

Marvelously suspicious Jane Ladling is at it again. Because when her pancake-making mentor is found with a dead body, Jane KNOWS she's innocent. Which naturally means everyone's a suspect. Every.one.

Well, everyone except Conrad and Beau and Beau's buddies in his security business. (To be fair, Beau's one buddy did have a spot on assessment of one of the other suspects, but not at all in the way I was expecting. But that's another story for another day. Probably.)

While proving Fiona's innocence, Jane is also (still) running from admitting her feelings about Conrad. Which is a little difficult when he keeps making her fall in like with him by setting up romantic picnics and bringing her along on "stakeouts". What? The lady likes what she likes and if Conrad is wise to her ways.

A little case of murder, a whole lot of suspicious characters, a cat who rules the roost, and Conrad being the most supportive dude in existence. Heh. I like that guy. He's fun and he knows how to kiss the socks off Jane.

This is one of the cutest little series I've ever read. It's a fun quick read that I can curl up with my blanket and tea and finish in an evening. I absolutely loved Game of Gravestones. It might just be my favorite one yet.. except for the first book of course, or even the second?! So hard to choose a favorite, so really.. why choose at all?

We get further development on Jane, Conrad, and Jane's curse.. which I can't wait to see Conrad officially destroy. I'm still head over heels for Conrad, so loving every Conrad scene!

I am getting so nervous though!! How many more murders can one small town have?! I seriously don't want this series to end. However, I'm very much looking forward to the Christmas novella hopefully coming sometime around this Christmas?! I need all of Jane and Conrad I can get.

Can't wait til release day so I can get my hands on a paperback copy!

**I did receive an ARC copy of this book, which I am so so thankful for! But the review is one hundred percent my own thoughts.

I just love our quirky heroine Jane, she is too cute! And Gena’s description of our lovable inspector detective (a man of many talents lol) Conrad is so accurate, he is indeed “a smoke show”!! They pair together so perfectly. Conrad is the perfect calm to Jane’s erratic (but lovable) way of thinking and they complement each other so well.

This is the third murder mystery to hit our favorite Georgia town of Aurelian Hills and it is a doozy! Jane is getting some experience under her belt and I must say I agree with her label of private investigator in training, she is a natural! With Conrad and truth team (Fiona, Beau and friends I’m looking at you) by her side there is nothing she can’t do. I was pleasantly surprised with the twists and turns in this one but, I was shocked at the Lucy bomb!! I was not expecting that AT ALL. I need to know if they will find her in the Christmas novella!

If you love a thrilling murder mystery with a side of fun and a smidge of romance then this book is for you! Congrats to Gena and Jill on this awesome third book of this amazing series!!

A murder investigation had never gone so seamlessly, and she wasn't sure she liked it.

This is literally the cutest series ever! Conrad is adorable, Jane is adorable, and they're like the adorable sunshine couple. Though determined as ever to not fall into a relationship, Jane can't help but fall deeper for Conrad, and honestly, who could blame her? I certainly would only blame her if she didn't.

"Everything will be all right, sweetheart. I'm determined. The curse is our dragon. We'll slay it and create our own personal fairy tale."

That. That did it. She had already picked out a name for their fairy tale and everything. The Cemetery Maiden and the Prince of Spices.

As always, the humor is top-notch and Jane is as delightfully slightly-more-than-quirky as ever. If there is absolutely no reason to be suspicious, Jane is. If she's not suspicious, she immediately becomes so. Suspicious if they take their coffee a certain way, if they don't like cats, if they offer suggestions, and even if they ask for help! Cases in point:

Nothing odd had struck her, which had struck her as odd.

Wait. A last-minute decision to attend a fancy, costumed event? Suspicious! Jane added Dr. Price to her list of suspects, as well as Dr. Garcia, then double checked the others. Emma, Lucy, and Devin Hagger. Yep. All belonged. No changes necessary. With such a minefield of probable guiltiness, something good had to blow up soon.

If you like adorable and quirky characters, humor, and cozy mysteries, this is the book series for you.

These books are just so wholesome and the characters are so loveable!
Jane is yet again on the hunt for a killer, the way her brain works makes me laugh but she is also brilliant! I always try and work out who the “villain” is in the books and this one was difficult as there were so many potential killers! I love that there is also a twist in the end that I didn’t see coming, fingers crossed for this character to pop up again in future books!
I also like how we got to see a different side to Beau fingers crossed he gets his happily ever after! I’m sure Jane won’t be able to help herself and get involved!
Showalter and Monroe make a fantastic writing team, it’s seamless how the co-write the story. Two of my favourite authors, I will be preordering Twelve graves of Christmas as soon as it’s available!

The Garden of Memories is supposed to be serene and peaceful and a place to visit your relatives who have passed on. Not be a hotbed for homicides! Jane is now facing her 3rd murder at her family's graveyard.

Jane's murder mystery night takes a turn for the realistic when a real dead body is found. She throws herself into the investigation in an attempt to get her friends off the hook and to NOT tell Hottie Agent Conrad Ryan that she may have caught feelings for him!

The family curse may blight their wee romance before it can take flight but meanwhile, Jane’s mouth and mind are going 20 to the dozen and not always in the same direction. Do not worry #TeamBeau, there may be a romance for him in the future - if fate will stop launching dead people at Jane's friends long enough!

Madcap mayhem with a side of murder - smashing!

Yet another murder

In an effort to raise funds for her small cemetery and help the businesses of her small town, Jane decides to host a murder mystery event in the cemetery. As with all things Jane, events take a turn and instead of a staged production an actual murder takes place. Jane with her group of amateur sleuths along with a real agent begin to clear the names of Jane’s team and search for the murderer. Nothing is never simple for Jane and her desire to discover the truth puts her in danger. Thankfully, her team is there to protect her including a very special agent, Conrad, who is she determined not to love due to a family curse.
Gena Showalter and Jill Monroe have combined creativity and writing skills to create a very fun and enjoyable series.

"You're welcoming our doom," she whispered, playing with the neckline of his shirt.
"No, sweetheart." He shook his head. "I'm giving us a real chance. I love you, Jane Ladling, and I'm never letting you go."

gah, i love this series so much. i have already said this but it's hard not love our jane, despite her ridiculousness. i relate to conrad. if i were him, i would fall for her too. in terms of the mystery side of the story, i still enjoyed the first one the most, but that doesn't mean i didn't find this one fun. as i go through this series, more and more characters begin to appear. sometimes, i became confused who was who. anyway, onto the next!
