No one speaks about the battle of Doncaster. Everything fell apart and the impossibility of repairing what’s been broken continues to haunt us. Especially after losing Elwyna, everything seems hopeless.
Trygve and I prepare for another war that looms on the horizon, spreading throughout Mercia and now Wessex, despite King Edmund’s attempts at peace. A third threat hails from East Anglia, in Wales, where a witch named The Dark One has been spreading chaos. Rumors of her powers have devoured the four kingdoms in fear.
When our peace depends on finding the Dark One and bringing her to clear the curse put on King Edmund’s wife by another, we find that more than one thing bonds us all together.
Will King Edmund be able to create peace in a land that is destined for massacre? Will the identity of the Dark One finally be revealed?
MK Robert is a French-Canadian writer. She started writing as a teenager. Being a writer was always her dream and 15 years later she finally made that dream come true with her debut novel The Siren’s Seduction with Co-Writer Maggie Bonnet.
It was an okay book. I felt like the story lost steam... the introduction of a new character felt a bit out of place in the overall narrative... I thought the ending was pretty average. The setting is still good... I love that atmosphere, but the story in Book 2 falls flat... I felt like there were missing explanations, especially regarding Yrsa's future, which in the end... didn't amount to nothing 🤡 Everything felt a bit shallow.. had a lot of potential, but in the end, disappoints. ___________________________________
MK Robert did it again! What a ride!!!! This is a continuation of the Viking saga that does not disappoint!!! You have made a forever fan of me for life! Great job.
Just finished and I got to say the world building was spot on. In both books of this series I loved the imagery and the people. While I enjoyed the romance aspect of this poly group. I did feel like the second book was a bit rushed. I didn’t feel as connected when they all were back to normal. Something was just missing. But over all. For a new to me author I’ll be on the look out for more
Trigger Warnings 🚩 Violence/Torture, Child Abuse, Attempted S.A. Kidnapping, Death
MK Robert played with my heart!
First, I want to say that I am a total sucker for the amnesia trope! I know a lot of people hate it but I’m a child of the 90s and I absolutely love it when done well and it’s brilliant in this book! I had so much fun remembering again with Elwyna. But then MK just kept fucкing with my heart (In a good way)! The angst was next level in this book and if you’re not a lover of angst then skip this book. She’s also not afraid to kill off main characters that are friends so be aware of that going in, some of your faves may not make it… it is war after all.
However she “made up” for of the EMOTIONAL DAMAGE with the delicious spicy scenes between ALL the characters, including MF, MMF, MM, MMFM. So if you’re looking for swords crossing this is totally your speed!
Overall I really enjoyed this Dark and Spicy Viking Duet. If you’re looking for a Dark Viking Why Choose Romance with a strong female main character who can totally hold her on this is a story for you. And that’s saying a lot because I’m typically not a fan of “Why Choose”, however I really enjoyed that aspect of the story because everyone got involved with everyone, not just the female main character and it made it way hotter but also more emotional invested outside the bedroom for the characters. I cannot wait to see what MK has in store for us in the future.

Omg what a wonderful story. It starts where Trygve, Thorsten and Geirmund were still looking for Elwyna and trying to stay positive. Elwyna survives but had lost her memory. She is helped by Ashilda and she finds out she is pregnant. The three men find Elwyna and she regains her memories but then their daughter is stolen. It is another adventure to find their daughter which they do finally but with lost of love ones. They hide in Iceland Geirmund home and until King Edmund’s demand to become Christian’s to their land. The book had me on the edge of my seat until the very end of the book. I love the series. Well done MK Robert.
I've been waiting for this book for so long, and it's here!!!!! This book was EVERYTHING I hoped it would be and then some!!!!
The action, the danger, the smutty goodness were all perfect!!!! Now I will be honest we lose people along the way. It's to be expected considering they're entrenched in war. I did ugly cry at the end of one of our characters, but it was a beautiful scene.
Overall, a fantastic read and an amazing series has come to an end, but I'll be rereading and recommending it always.
Book two in this duet picks up right after book one with Thorsten, Trygve, and Geirmund searching for Elwyna. The drama continues to unfold as secrets are revealed, and not even the king of England himself is safe.
I adore Elwyna and the absolute badassary that she exudes. She is a very strong FMC who takes no prisoners when she sets her mind to something. The entire series proves this, but the epilogue is what really drives the message home.
The plot was also fascinating. From book one to the end of book two, you're hooked on the story and the characters, and find yourself wanting to know more and get more details.
Great Conclusion! The author takes us on a journey in this book! From start to finish, I didn't want to stop reading. I needed to know what would happen next! There was adventure, action, steam and more!! I loved Elwyna. She grew in strength, courage and smarts. She was an overall, bad*ss! (Don't wanna mess with a mother's child) Trygve, Thorsten, Geirmund, and Elwyna I loved seeing them all together. They were a force and a true family. What a fantastic ending to their story!!
Holy smokes. Mk did her damn thing! But I may be bias cause if she writes it's imma read it cause I love her creatively and worlds!!! 5 stars easy. Hail to the queen of viking romance !!! Pick it up you wont be sorry!!!! I know I sure wasnt
This incredible conclusion to the Viking Saga is a wild ride. It is packed with action, spice, and drama. The storyline wraps up very well with good development in the relationship and characters. I really love Elwyna and her clan.
Elwyna survives being pushed of the cliff and washes ashore down river. She is found by Ashilda, who tends her wounds, trains her as a midwife and tells her she is pregnant and gives birth to a girl that she names Yrsa. She has no memory of who she is and becomes known as the Dark One. The saxon king Edmond demands She come to help his wife in her delivery, but she ignores him. He hires the three heathens, Thorsten, Trygve and Geirmund to go fetch her. While Elwyna is out picking berries for breakfast the men come upon her and they realize who she is, that the king took their baby and that begins their quest to help Elwyna remember who she is, rescue their baby and get revenge.
It was a good historical why choose romance. It was extremely spicy, which I didn't mind. I would have like more character development and storyline outside of the spice. All in all it was enjoyable.
This book was the one of the best I have read all year. The entire series is amazing! I wish more people would write Viking rh but no one could top this series!! Now I am fine to read the rest of Mk books!❤️❤️
I have been waiting for this! Excellent writing and it absolutely does not disappoint. If your looking for Viking romance with an exceptional plot, this is it.
This is the second book to the The Viking Saga. It starts just where the first book left off. There are so many things to love about these two books. This book has Elwyna's men looking for her and when they find her it's been about a year. They also find out more about the king and his ways.
I don't want to give any spoilers so you'll have to read it for yourself. 😁 There is a lot of spice in here with a great ending, and you won't want to miss out!
i have never hated any of MK’s books, and i didn’t start now. this book is AMAZING. through and through. not only did it keep me on the edge of my seat the whole time, but i have no words how much i loved it. i’m not going to get into specifics because i don’t like writing reviews with spoilers in them… but let’s just say i’m going back and re reading the series AGAIN. another absolute banger from MK :)
What a wild freaking ride! The conclusion to this duet was fantastic! Elwyna really comes into her own, and I'm so happy for how her story ended!! Absolutely loved it!
This book was packed full of plot, action, battles, heartbreak, and so much love.
This was the conclusion of the The Viking Saga, and what a good end it was. Loves were lost and found. My heart broke several times. But in the end this “love clan” 😂 had their happy ending. It was hard fought, but all the better for it.
I did enjoy the Viking Saga by MK Robert, this is the first thing I want to say.
Book 2 didn't disappoint, it went to areas I didn't anticipate and we saw the relationships develop to be a real polyamorous relationship where the boys loved each other as much as they loved their lady. The family bonds where strengthened and tied, through the tyranny of Godwin and the King. The Dark One arose and became feared across England and a race to find stolen children became a focal point.
What I didn't expect was for the ending to be so rushed and it seemed a bit of a disappointment to me, I expected a bit *more* to the finale.
Again beautifully written, got through it in like two days just like book one, I didn't 100% enjoy the ending or the absolute blind revenge leading up to it however it still made for a great read, excited to read the rest of M.K. Robert's books

Note: I read the Kindle Unlimited version, and sometimes those versions are not the same as physical copies or what is available on other platforms.
This book took a steep nosedive from the first one. In the beginning, say the first 35% of the book, the quality is about the same as the first. After the 50% mark, everything goes downhill and starts to feel like a plot dump. It keeps getting worse the further you read.
The writing, editing, and proofreading all became incredibly sloppy. It was like the author word vomited the pages out and then forgot to go back and make it pretty, as well as explaining known plot points multiple times as though readers have five-second memories. At least one chapter did not announce a perspective change. The main character is clearly a shape-shifter, as her physical appearance changed completely from the first book - all all that remained was slimthick.
And if you expect a great story with some good smutty scenes after reading the first book, you will be disappointed. This one is much more focused on maiming, torturing, and general brutality than plot or spice. Yes, the first book was violent, but violence was not the primary feature. I'd say this book has ONE good smut scene in it, and most of the others feel out of place and repetitive, like they're just added because they are expected. Two help the plot with intimacy. The rest could have been left out, considering they all start off feeling forced into the story.
I really wanted to like this book, but I just can't.
A lot of reviews said this book picks up where it left off. That’s not true at all. A year has passed and many things have changed! I loved the new additions. I didn’t think Siv really needed a POV. Full circle moment, the fight between Eadgifu and Elwyna, when Elwyna did the same thing to Thorsten’s fiancée. Elwyna was very out of her mind this book due to grief. She’s honestly unrecognizable. It makes no sense to me at all why they would go back to York. The climax of this story honestly escalated out of no where. We just skipped time and boom. Geirmund going berserk but not on his family the second time was inconsistent for me. The epilogue kind of pissed me off. Elwyna was supposed to survive her husbands and become a servant of Freya. Yrsa also didn’t fulfill her prophecy. Sooooo this was all for not.
Again, a lot of the wording was more modern than historical. Godwin said it’d been years but it’s only been a year and a half max.
Girl hands down another really good one! I love love reading anything you write . My god everyone please read this ! You will not be let down! It’s so good….
This is the 2nd in the reverse harem Viking Saga Series duet. As King Edmund of England seeks to annihilate the Norse pagans a/k/a “heathens”, the main characters are fighting to preserve their way of life, effect a rescue of Elwyna’s daughter, and reclaim Elwyna’s family home from the evil antagonist Godwin. Elwyna, building on her skills honed in the first novel, proves to be a formidable warrior. Her understandable bloodlust and quest for vengeance easily exceeds that even of the berserkers.
The 4 MC’s demonstrate a deeply held love for each other even when that love is tested and challenged.
Elwyna, a strong female character described as petite, beautiful, curvy, and with thick thighs -is a refreshing role model in several respects: her endurance, adaptability, loyalty and her unabashed enjoyment of her sexuality. Known as The Dark One for cursing the King and for her high priestess skills, Elwyna is also the mastermind behind most of the rescue/vengeance strategies enacted. It speaks volumes when the beheading of an adversary is the LEAST gory of her battle actions.
This novel sees the introduction of Iceland’s Geirmund as another love interest. The mushroom chomping commander-berserker who assisted at the Doncaster battle is loyal to the group and selflessly helps Thorsten and Trygve search for Elwyna for over a year. He has earned a good romp with Elwyna and what a scorching session it is! Geirmund also has a MM relationship with Trygve.
Thorsten’s other woman drama is disappointing but explained in the context of his downward spiral fueled by alcohol, desolation upon losing Elwyna and the annihilation of his clan and home. The OW drama creates a bit of angst and an opportunity for the returned Elwyna to demonstrate her possessiveness. Although he is the leader of the clan, he strikes me- at times- as the least demonstrative, or effective of the group. His MM relationship with Trygve was on hold during his downward spiral while searching for Elwyna.
Trygve is a teasing, charming supremely likable character with the ability to diffuse tense situations within the group. He is also a formidable warrior. During the time that Elwyna is missing he refuses to give up hope even as Thorsten pulls away from him. Trygve has separate MM relationships with Thorsten and Geirmund.
This steamy Viking saga has lots of death/gore, betrayal and angst. The intimacy and sex scenes are well written and very erotic.
There is a Secondary character FF pairing.
Epilogue: In the context of the previous visions/prophesies the fate of Elwyna’s daughter Yrsa made no sense, unless the author is setting the scene for another book.
Notes/CW/TW: Death, grief, gore, bloodlust, child abuse, SA, kidnapping, other woman, animal sacrifice, animal death, pregnancy, abuse, reverse harem(4), swords cross, attempted SA, amnesia

If you just skip the epilogue and pretend they killed the king along with Godwin, the book would have been much better. Instead the epilogue could have just been them having the next child and been more HEA than it ended up being. I’m not happy or satisfied by that ending at all, so minus a star for that for sure. This one had some really great moments and I also enjoyed Geirmund, but it was just missing something. I def felt like I was just told a story, but I don’t really feel like I experienced this one, I just needed something more. This is def going on my list of bad endings!! After everything we went through…. And Yrsa… just no, I’m so disappointed. To anyone who reads this, the book is still worth reading, just don’t bother with the epilogue from the Norne, pretend the King died alongside Godwin, and just know they had another child, the harem lived HEA, and their children (Yrsa and the boys) went on to do great things in England.

This book picks up about a year after the end of book one, and honestly, nobody is doing well. Trygve, Thornton and Geirmund are still looking for Elwyna after she disappeared. But after almost a year of searching, there has been no sign of her & they need to consider how to save their people. To stoke a deal with the King of England, they must find a witch.
This leads them somewhere that I doubt they ever expected, right to Elwyna, only to discover just how feel the evil goes in the King. Now to save the most precious thing they could have, they must go into the vipers den and discover where to look.
This book has so much going on, a sassy female who will do anything to save her most precious treasure, alpha Vikings who have fun with their woman and with each other, epic battles and heartbreak.
Sad to see this story come to an end. The second book had me just as entranced as the first. My only real critique would be the last few chapters. They seemed rushed. Parts were skipped over, leading to confusion and backtracking to try to peice things together. I was so invested in this story and feel the readers deserve a little more at the end. The writing in the last few chapters was a bit inconsistent from the rest of the book(s). Still a solid 4 stars. I still loved it and lament the end of the saga
This series is great if you want spice. Though it's a bit rushed and kinda sloppy. However, if you want continuity and a fully fleshed out plot, this isn't for you. The potential was there, but with details changing from one chapter to the next, characters added just for a twist that wasn't even worth the single chapter it encompassed, and odd phrasing it became a tedious read. And the voice was just off multiple times through the book. I half expected the Vikings to call each other 'bro' more than once, and then we tried to slip back into fantasy. It was a lot.
I'm such a sucker for the amnesia trope, but dang, I also hate the angst of waiting for them to remember 🤣🤣🤣 Luckily, we don't have to wait long, and Elwyna remembers at 18%, but the rest of the story is full of other angst-heavy plot points 😩 my poor heart.
Full steam ahead for MF, MMF, MM, MMFM (between Thorsten, Trygve, Geirmund, and Elwyna), and one FF scene (between Siv and Revna). Everything was hot hot hot.
Loving the poly direction of the harem and how the guys supported each other while Elwyna was missing and also after.
Sad that allies and friends were lost, but happy that got what they deserved. Ends in an HEA for our harem members, but 😭.
Highly recommend this duet if you like a strong FMC (literally will fight you), dark/violent story true to its time period, touch-him/her-and-die vibes from FMC and MMCs, and a very plot-driven historical fantasy why-choose poly harem romance.
So excited to read this, however the ending! Got a little sad when I felt the ending was so rushed. It wasn’t the best but I still enjoyed the book. I didn’t particularly enjoy the epilogue either knowing the children didn’t live up to entire reason behind the entire “vision” for the book! I felt up until the capture of Doncaster that the beep went amazing then it was like there was nothing but rushed endings!
