When I'm in the mood for a light and steamy feel good romance, BJ Harvey has become my go to. There's just something about her books that never fail to make me squirm and put a big goofy grin on my face. The stories are filled with fun banter, sassy heroines, alpha males, and amazing secondary characters that always makes for a satisfying rom com.
Game Saver brings us Dr. Hottie and Spitfire, and boy do these start off with a bang!
Suffice it to say I was a BIG fan of Dr. Cade Carsen from the very first page with a mouth like that on him. The man oozes sex appeal and I devoured every delicious page of it.
Abi Cook is exactly the kind of heroine I love to read about. She's independent, funny, sassy, and has no qualms in taking pleasure for the sake of pleasure. She has a healthy sex life and sees nothing wrong with indulging in some no strings sex with a hottie Dr that never fails to get her engine revving.
It's been over ten months since Abi and Cade had a sizzling hot one night stand. It was supposed to stay just that night but mutual friends guarantee that they run into each other again. The sexual chemistry between them is too strong to deny, so why not indulge...with a little extra perk. Cade wants Abi to be his pretend girlfriend to get his image and politically obsessed parents off his back.
These two definitely set the pages on fire. Now admittedly, I'm a reader that doesn't enjoy when a couple gets together right away in the story. It looses that added oomph of a good tension filled burn for me. But that was never the case here. Somehow it just WORKED for these two. They never lost their sparkle and I was fully invested in their relationship from beginning to end. It was fun to watch them both deny what was slowly building between them.
There was also the added perk of not having any stupid drama or angst thrown into the mix. Just fun, sexy romance with two amazingly endearing characters.
I would have loved a little more from the ending and seeing a few things fully play out, but I did adore that epilogue at the end. If you're looking for a feel good romance to put a smile on your face, this just may be the book for you.

"FOUR BANTER AND TRUE LOVE STARS."

'Game saver' is unquestionably one of my favourite books to date by this author. BJ Harvey rarely gets anything wrong when putting together a romantic comedy, and I'm glad to say that once again this author has created a fabulous balance of heart thumping romance, combined with quick witted humour. The banter and character connection was on point and I'm glad to say that I was left with a giddy high after enjoying the perfect romantic escape.
What did I love?
Readers, here is a book where hero and heroine are both as loveable as each other. This book was the kind of which it's easy to fall into, a wonderful escape from reality and to top it all off steamy, flirty and dirty. Straight from the start the characters were endearing and I'm not embarrassed to admit that the hero knew how to charm his readers. Plenty of Chemistry to get your blood pumping, enough sweet to keep me grinning and a story line that was squeezed full of entertainment this book was a winner in my eyes. This novel came just at the right time and gave me the BJ Harvey fix that I was craving.
Why not five?
It was so close to being a five star, it's not really worth my time talking about what didn't make it to the top rating. But for reviewing sake, the only thing missing for my tastes was an epic ending. It felt somewhat rushed I would have liked to have lived some of the moments that were described in retrospect and just a little more polish to the finish to match the rest of the outstanding quality of story telling. This author is simply one of my favourite 'easy read' go to writers and I'll always be enjoying the ride she takes me on as a dedicated romance addict.
Final thoughts ...
If like me you cant resist a romance that is full of witty banter and sexual tension then you've arrived at the right destination. BJ Harvey has produced yet another novel that won't disappoint. The characters are humorous, likeable and lovingly relatable and with a fantastic love story, Harvs has hit the nail on my romantic head.

I love this book! Sexy, funny and romantic, this was a really fun read that had me grinning, swooning and frequently fanning myself.
In the last book of the series we saw Abi and Cade (aka ‘Dr Hottie’) hook up for one steamy night, not realising that their friends all knew each other and were part of a close circle. It’s now ten months later and after running into each other at a club, they go for a repeat performance where we get to see just how hot they truly are together – and damn!
Ten months ago Cade’s life was all about his career and he wasn’t in a place where he could start anything. Things are easier now, and with his father running for mayor and his mother constantly on his back about finding somebody, he proposes to Abi that she be his fake girlfriend – for mutually beneficial reasons.
Abi is bold, brave and sassy. She’s been through a hard time but she’s worked hard to pull herself out of it and reclaim her life, and you’ve gotta admire her for that (and I love the fact that Cade does as well). She knows what she wants and she doesn’t hold back from getting it, and she knows she hasn’t gotten enough of Cade, so she’s all in.
But along with the social events and hot, hot sex, Cade and Abi are genuinely interested in getting to know each other and before they know it, things between them start to change.
OMG I love these two together! They laugh, they tease, they banter and have fun, and before they know it, they become an integral part of each other’s lives. It’s one of those situations where everybody around them can see how deeply involved they are, and it’s just a matter of time before they catch up.
And of course, the sex is frequent and dirty, and the chemistry is off the freaking charts!
We get to see lots of time with them together, which I loved, and their relationship develops naturally and realistically into something incredibly special.
It’s not all easy, and they do have issues that need to be resolved, but for the most part this is a drama-free, angst-free, functional relationship. For me, it’s always a sign of a great romance when the author doesn’t have to create unnecessary drama just to add interest to the story, and that is the case here. I was invested in Cade and Abi as a couple, I loved seeing them together, I love that they opened up to each other about how they were feeling and what they wanted, and then they worked to get it, and it was total swoony perfection!
Of course the characters from the Bliss and Game series are all a part of the story, and I loved catching up with them. This is such a great group and each book builds on that and makes their links stronger, and I especially loved the girl and boy bonding time. I also loved the introduction of Cade’s brother and sister – they are fantastic characters, and I’m so excited that Cam will be getting his own book in the future.
I loved this book. It was a great mix of fun, hotness and romance, and I’m excited for Thomas’ book up next.

BJ Harvey never fails to deliver with her hot men and sassy women, women that have embraced their femininity and inner sexual goddess and know how to use it. These characters, as the past two books and the Bliss series before that all culminate in a read that will have you laughing one minute, swooning the next and definitely fanning yourself too. Holy chemistry, this woman knows how to deliver between the pages and between the sheets.
Cade and Abi met ten months ago. Ten months ago they both had the best one night stand of their lives, one that while they knew what it was at the time had never left their memory. One night that was literally unforgettable. Now their paths cross once again and memories are suddenly becoming little sparks that definitely warrant reigniting.
Cade Carsen was a doctor and between long shifts and rest and relaxation he has not had the time for a relationship. He has made do with nights out with the lads often ending in a no names one-night encounter. No strings, no ties, no issues. Coming from wealth and a father in politics Cade Carsen III has to keep up appearances and a society wife was high on his parents list and at the bottom of his.
Abi was a hotel manager but supplements her income with a night of stripping. For the past few books one thing that I keep harping on about is the dialogue, BJ Harvey nails her dialogue, every single time. The wit and banter between these couples and their friends is hilarious. No topic is off limits, no subject unfiltered, just say what you feel and watch the fall out. These quite honest and frank discussions thought scream REAL and you can imagine this band of friends comparing notes, sizes and anything else that pops into their minds. I laughed a lot, I cried tears of laughter but underneath all this was a fantastic romance as ever, cementing the story perfectly.
I have adored this series from start to finish and cannot wait for the next one. These characters have become firm friends, after living in their lives for so long they are one of the team and I cannot wait to see what shenanigans BJ Harvey has in store for us next.

Game Saver is the third book in the Game Series by BJ Harvey. This can be read as a stand-alone.

Cade Carsen hasn’t had time for a relationship. Busy days on rotations at the hospital and a few one-nighers seemed to be enough. Until now. Abi was like no other woman he’s known. He let ten months pass between encounters and he isn’t about to make the same mistake twice.
A simple arrangement. In exchange for copious amounts of orgasms, Abi agrees to settle in as the ‘fake’ girlfriend, saving Cade from his overbearing and over polished mother who is hell bent on him settling down with a socialite worthy of the Carsen name.

I adore this author. I have been along for the journey of her writing for a while now. Game Saver is the 16th book I’ve read of hers and I think it just became my new favorite. I have enjoyed the prior books, but there is something about this series that is hitting all my buttons!
I love the humor and wit of these characters. I love that the heroines are strong leads and not damsels in distress. I know a few have slut-shamed them a bit, but get the fuck over it. It’s a nice change of pace to get a hoard of female characters that own their sexuality. BJH started this trend in her Bliss books, which this series is a spin off of. And for a reader who normally hates the heroines in books, I am loving this cast of crazy bitches. I can’t wait for Game Ender, to get Thomas and Amy’s story!

3 ⭐⭐⭐ - OK decent reads.

I don't know why, but I seriously love the whole fake significant other theme in books. I think it's because it is just so damn entertaining as a reader to be on the outside looking in. And a good author will put a reader in such a position with their captivating writing. BJ Harvey does it every time. As I was reading Abi and Cade's journey, i really felt like I was in the story. Part of the story. So it humored me. Because obvs I knew what was coming. The fake thing just never stays fake for long ... real life or fiction.
I also very much enjoy BJ's characterization of Abi. She knew what she wanted and went after it. She wanted great sex with no entanglement and she went after it. Good for her! I love me a strong heroine with a matching hero! LOL
This isn't a complicated story. It isn't full of angst or backstory baggage. It was just sexy and fun!

This isn't a complicated story. It isn't full of angst or backstory baggage. It was just sexy and fun!

This just wasn't for me. I don't know if it was because I read this book right after reading It Ends with Us by Colleen Hoover but I do know there were too many editing mistakes (two examples-using was instead of were and if instead of is ?huh?) and story cliches that I have already read too many times. All of the women giggled and the guys chuckled and I found the descriptions of Chicago not very well researched. Having lived in Chicago half my life I tend to get really picky when proper names and descriptions of place aren't correct. The hospital and the school are Northwestern, not North Western or NorthWestern and a hotel on the Loop would be very dangerous, since the origin of the term referred to the cable car route around the business district, which is also known as the Loop. Just not for me and I am disappointed because I've enjoyed this author's work in the past.

I'm still not done with the Bliss series, but the Game books got me hooked on B.J. Harvey's flawless writing!
Abi and Cade might give Matt and Mia a run for their money as my favourite couple. Their chemistry was off the charts hot and the whole story was a perfect blend of humor and romance, without the eye roll-inducing, unnecessary drama part. A light, sweet, and sexy read!

BEST COUPLE of the SERIES hands down! I just absolutely ADORED Abi and Cade! Absolutely NOTHING could have pulled me away from this amazing and delicious read. BJ Harvey, once again, gives her fans the perfect dose of romance and comedy in her latest GAME SERIES book. Even though each book in this awesome series can be read as a standalone, I recommend you read the entire series, along with one of my favorites of hers, the BLISS SERIES. Harvey's writing is always on-point and so damn smart. I can't get enough of the witty dialogue and the sexy and flirtatious banter. Don't even get me started on the INCREDIBLE sex scenes. They are HOT to the tenth degree!

Yes!! A new book in the Game series. Not gonna lie, I love the Bliss series, but I seriously LURRRVE the Game series.
And each book keeps getting better and better.
Abi and Cade were everything and more that I could want in my lovelies. She is feisty, sassy, has a mouth on her and doesn't give a crap what anyone thinks.
He is smoking hot, smart and so not what you would expect him to be.
And when they get behind closed doors... phew, is it getting hot in here. Proximity lust from the pheromones flying between them!

Friends to lovers is one of my favourite romance tropes at the moment, and this one ticked all the boxes. And it was... omg you won't believe it.. it was free of angst! NO, seriously! Was everything easy peasy for them? did they have hurdles to jump? Hell yeah, but one of the things I adored the most about them is that they acted like adults and - are you sitting down? - they talked shit out. Communication is a wonderful thing!
I love that we got more of the guys and gals from the Bliss and Game series. This group is a bit incestual (without the actual incest!!) with the way they all kind of form relationships among their family and friends.
And it just makes them all the closer, and their conversations all the funnier.
Even though this is the 3rd book in the Game series, it could be read as a stand alone as there is enough information about the characters to get you through who is who. But then again, what would you want to miss out on any of the mayhem and madness that surrounds them.
I devoured Game Saver in one sitting, and now I am impatiently waiting for what Ms Harvey brings us next.

A one night stand with sizzling, unforgettable sex is a fabulous way to end a night out right? Okay, what about if 10 months later you bump into that one night stand participant again, have another night of countless orgasms with him and then get an offer you can't refuse?
That is pretty much what happens when Abi and Cade (Dr Hottie) see each other again on a night out with their friends. Cade comes from a pretentious wealthy family that is all about their public image, despite the skeletons hiding in their closets. Cade is over being set up by his interfering mother so asks Abi to be his 'fake girlfriend' for the duration of his father's mayoral campaign.
This is a win, win situation really, Cade gets his mother off his back and regularly gets Abi on her back, so to speak. These two are incredible between the sheets, like smoking hot. This whole casual thing they have going on soon becomes more when instead of just occasionally sleeping together, turns into spending time together - like a couple in a real relationship.
'As a man, he's everything I could want. As a friend, he has never let me down. As a lover, he rocks my world and broadens my horizons.'
I personally don't think that the whole FWB arrangements really do work, somewhere along the line feelings become involved. However, in the case of Abi & Cade, I was really wanting that to happen! They were so good together.
Abi doesn't suffer fools and will not let anyone walk over her, nor do or say anything harmful about any of her friends, which of course now includes Cade. When Abi has her eyes opened to the side of Cade's family that he steers clear of, her fierce & protective instincts are on high alert. I'm pretty sure that Cade was thinking 'who the hell is this woman and where has she been all my life?'
'I want to see where this could go. I don't want fake, I want real, and I want real with her.'
This was such a fun read. ALL of the bliss gang are weaved throughout this story, which I loved because we get glimpses into their lives. Yes! YES!! This is everything I want in the perfect contemporary romance/summer read for a day. Cute relatable couple, humor interspersed, great secondary characters and no angst!
Did you read that no angst? Is there an obstacle for the couple to overcome? Yes. However *gasp* they handle everything like --- wait for it --- ADULTS!! I mean they communicate. I know. I know. No, I didn't hit my head and imagine this story. But, lest you are confused by my review - I recommend you BUY this book.
Abi and Cade were everything I love. Strong, open and ready with open hearts for the possibility of more. and Hot? Did I mention when the doors close they are hot? Why, yes. Yes they are. If you are familiar with BJ Harvey's series, you'll be delighted to know all your favorite characters return and you get to meet some awesome new secondary characters. The story is fluid and fun. Just the best read to park yourself in a comfy chair and get lost in.

GAME SAVER is the third book in B.J. Harvey's Game series and I have to admit my favorite so far. This book can be read as a stand-alone, but is so much better when you've read the others and have the back story of the whole gang of characters from Mac and Superman's world.
I had thought Dr. Cade Carsen (Noah and Daniel's friend) was really hot back in the first book of the series, Game Player, when he didn't allow Matt to put him off from taking Mia out on a date. I could tell he was a smooth confident man and had a moment where I thought Mia should have went for Cade over Matt. Good thing she didn't, because Cade and Abi are perfect together.... as are Matt and Mia.
Abi Cook (Dani's roommate) took a chance on a sexy guy from across the bar for some NSA fun and hit the jackpot. Cade rocked her world and she rocked his. It was a night neither of them forgot. Nor was the next morning when they discovered all the friends they had in common.
Cade definitely wants more, but his schedule is hectic so he allows months to go by before he approaches Abi again. After that second night these two are pretty much inseparable, even when they both just claim it's a FWB deal with no attachment or commitment.
These two were smoking hot together. Doctor Hottie as Abi likes to call him has some serious moves. He also knows when he's found a treasure and how to treat a woman like a lady out of the bedrroom. Abi is an intelligent woman who has made her own way, is full of spunk and sass, and takes no crap from anyone. Not even her four older brothers. Side note here: The scene where Cade first meets her Mother and brothers is epic. One of my favorites in this book.
Bottom line. This one is a must-read. Great writing. Lots of laughs. Lovable characters and the sexy times are off the hook hotness. 4.5 stars

What another GREAT addition to this fabulous series!!! BJ Harvey can do no wrong when it comes to these characters. Every book she gives us I just devour!!
Game Saver is the third book in her spin-off Game Series. This book/series can be read as a standalone, you don’t need to read the Bliss Series first or the previous books in the Game series to fully enjoy this book. I would highly recommend reading all the Bliss Series and the Game series before reading this book, but that is because you will then get the full experience of these AMAZING characters.
In Game Saver the couple that we follow are Cade and Abi. Cade is the best friend of Noah and Abi is the best friend of Dani. Both characters were introduced in previous books. I love how Ms. Harvey has weaved such a web with this cast of characters…I know that I will be extremely sad when she is finished writing about them. That is one thing I have loved about this spin off series, and that is we get to reconnect with the characters from the Bliss Series.
Each of these books are fun, flirty, enjoyable and extremely sexy ;) Although I think Game Saver was the dirtiest of them all so far. Cade melted my panties with just one word. I don’t know if I would consider Cade a true Alpha, but he had some tendencies of an Alpha male, but he surely is the dirtiest talker of them all!!! As with all of these books in this series, Game Saver, didn’t have a lot of drama, but what drama she did add, was handled well and I loved that Cade and Abi handled everything together!!! These books just really make me happy to read and I end with a HUGE smile on my face.
I think what I love the most about this series and BJ Harvey’s books is that she gives us amazing heroines. Her girls are strong, independent and not ashamed of the sexual prowess. No she doesn’t give us sluts or anything but women who like men and aren’t embarrassed to admit it. I also love that she gives us couples who act like adults. Yes they have mountains to climb and obstacles to overcome, but they do it the way you would expect an adult to handle it. Her couples are functional…if that makes sense.
I would again 100% recommend any book of BJ Harvey to any reader. If you are a fan of the fun, sexy and just all around enjoyable read then this is the series to read. If you are a fan of BJ Harvey’s, then you don’t want to miss out on this series or the chance to reconnect with some old friends. If she is a new author to you, dive in and I hope you thoroughly enjoy her books like I have!!!

This was my first BJ Harvey book, and I have to say I enjoyed it. I really love the whole friends with benefits trope in romances, and how it of course always ends up being more than either party bargained for in the end. I know this book has ties to some other books in a series, but you honestly don't need to have read any of the other books, although judging my the big cast of secondary characters if you have read the books you will probably enjoy seeing some old friends.
So our heroine in this book is Abi, and I really like her. She's a really confident, independent woman. I like how sure she is of herself, and her blunt honesty. I don't think she could ever be a person who lies a lot, mostly because she almost lacks like a bit of filter, which I kind of loved. I like that she's not ashamed of some of her life choices, including being a stripper to get out of debt. I also like that she is well educated and works two jobs.
Our hero is Cade, who is basically a trust fund baby from very wealthy and let's call it self-important family. The great thing about Cade is that while he appreciated being able to go to med school without any student loans, he really does not like the whole idea of his wealthy family, and he works hard for what he has. I liked how throughout the book he bucks up against his parents and how controlling they try to be. He has a couple of alpha traits, but not to much, man knows how to talk dirty, and apparently he is very skilled in the bedroom.
I really liked the dynamics between Abi and Cade, they have a great banter, and they are great in the bedroom, and you could just tell from the beginning of the book that they really just fit together. It was easy to root for them right from the beginning. I will admit that I was wondering where the conflict was going to come in for these two, and I figured it would come from Cade's super controlling family, and I was right, but I guess I was hoping for a bit more of a showdown between Cade and his family, there was a lot of build up, but not quite the dramatic show down I wanted. The book itself was a fast read, and it was really enjoyable for me. I would easily read another book by this author.

BJ. FREAKIN. HARVEY. I flove this book so damn hard. Cade and Abi have simply melted my heart. This series is definitely one of my go tos when I need out of a funk. This book however is the best one in the series yet. If not her best book yet. When someone asks me who should I read my first answer is Game and Bliss series by BJ Harvey. If theres any kind of feeling youre looking for they are in every single book.
This particular book will be going into one of my all time favorites. I love the characters. I love the story. And I enjoyed more than anything that the characters were straight up with each other. No miscommunication. No unnecessary drama. No lies. Just real. THIS! This had me hook line and sinker from the start. Cade is a dirty dirty fucker and I love him! If you know BJ books, you know Superman. Well move over superman because Dr Hottie just melted my heart and my panties! And Ill be the first one to tell you I NEVER thought that would happen. I freakin loved this book and all the emotions that come with it! Be prepared to laugh, maybe even swoon, and most definitely sweat from the heat of Cade and Abi.

When some set up to be fake turns into a whole lot more. This is the 3rd book in the Game series but can be read as a standalone.

Cade us the exact opposite of the people who raised him. he has done everything in his power not to be like them. The reason I wanted to read this book is because I love setup friendly hookup relationship turned into love before the story ends.
This book has inspired me to live a little. you never know what might be staring you in the face.

I loved Dr Hottie aka Cade and Abi so so much, they were such a funny and sexy couple. Cade has an amazingly dirty mouth in more ways than one. Abi is such a cool and sassy chick.
Cade is great and a hard working Doctor who believes he only has time for one night stands. Abi was burnt badly by an ex and thinks she's better off with hook up buddies but little do they know they are perfect for each other.

I cannot begin to tell you how much I loved Abi and her sassy self! Thank goodness I was the only person in my area at work so I could read and laugh to myself without people thinking I'm crazy. Er crazier... Moving on.

I really enjoyed Game Saver the main characters Cade and Abi have some really explosive chemistry together. Cade my god he has a really filthy mouth and I loved it. He's strong independent and knows what he wants and isn't afraid to go after it. Abi is fiercely independent and sassy and she certainly gives him a run for his money when it comes to dirty talking. I love the back and fourth banter between not only them but all the other characters from the previous books. For me this was an easy and really enjoyable read. Looking forward to the next book in this series.

I KNEW IT! I had a feeling I'd love Abi and Cade's story and I did! Abi is definitely another favorite character for me. I wished Nat had a book because she is also a hysterical character as well. So it's a battle between Mac, Nat and Abi for favorite character.
I adored Abi and Cade's story! I loved everything about it! I'm curious to see how the 4th book will play out. I don't know which characters are involved and I did that on purpose!

This book was absolutely brilliant and I really couldn't put it down. The story was unexpected and completely sucked me in. This started as a fake relationship but from the off you could see that it was anything but fake. What you get from this book is that family can be of your choosing as well as of blood.
Again you see the pass and I am sure future characters making this book and series so so special. This is a huge recommend from me.

I'm so glad that I was introduced to this author. All she has to do is say I have a new book coming out and I'm ready to go. This series is so funny. My god, I laugh so much. My inner nerd is delighted with all the comic book references. I so can't wait for more books. Abi is hands down one of the best characters of this series. And Cade is just hot! You feel as if you are right there with them.

April 23, 2017Cade and Abi ! Absolutely my favorite in the series. The fact that Cade was a smash and grab one nighter and Abi goes 10 months without a second hit was good. On a roll reading consecutive books this week. I tell you it is a fantastic series. I recommend you read the entire series back to back in order to get the full effect of how tangled these lives are.
