When my ex-wife walked out our door, she didn't just take her belongings with her, she took my heart.
I was pretty sure it would never work again, but that was before my sister’s best friend showed up at my door. Beaten. In need of serious help. And my sister sent Emmersyn to me, knowing I’d do whatever I could to help.
Except doing whatever I can means getting married. Again.
We both know the score though, which means Emmersyn knows I’ll never love her. I can help protect her and our marriage secures her inheritance, but love? I’ve already ruined one woman. I refuse to hurt another.
We say I do, and almost immediately I realize spending this much time around Emmersyn will be my downfall.
I might be breaking my promise to her already.
Turns out, when it comes to love and women, I’m wrong about a lot of things.
Stacey Lynn likes her coffee with a dash of sugar, her heroes with a side of bossy, and her wine a deep shade of red.
The author of over thirty romance novels, many of which have been best-selling titles on Amazon, AppleBooks, and Barnes & Noble.
Born in Texas and raised in the Midwest, she now makes her home in North Carolina and loves all things Southern. Together with her ultimate tall, dark, and handsome hero, she has four children. Her life is a chaotic mess that fights with her Type-A, list-making, neurotically organized preferences and she wouldn’t have it any other way.
DNF at 36%. I love a good marriage of convenience but this one is starting out so dumb.
1. The hero is in love with his ex-wife.
2. The heroine is beat up by her boyfriend/fiancé, and instead of reporting him she runs away. Instead of pressing charges, she is going to her best friend’s brother’s house. And they think the way to protect her is for her to get married rather than her to press charges and get this guy in jail.
3. This woman keeps on bad talking her self and thinking negative thoughts about her body. She talks about how fat she is and how big her thighs are etc. I don’t like negative self talk in the best of times and when it’s with someone who is a size 10!? It just drives me crazy.
4. They are both super attracted to each other. But the first rule of this new marriage of convenience? No sex within the marriage. If they want sex, they have to be discreet and get it outside of the marriage. And this is where I just can’t stand it anymore. I had to quit the book. The heroine was cheated on by her fiancé, and the hero thinks that cheating is a perfectly acceptable way of having their marriage?! I just don’t even understand this.
I will start with the well known fact, which is: ARC READERS ARE LIARS .
The book was ok if you can look over the fact that the H is in love with his ex wife throughout the story. Not “I thought I was in love with her till I met you” but “ I let the love of my life slip away and anything else will never measure “.
Like I said many times before...I love love love reading sports romance and this one was one really good one. The entire series is soo soo good and I wanted to read Kane's story for soo long.
Emmersyn and Kane's love started as a fake marriage, because she needed a safe place from her ex and for her to put her affairs in order. But just after a little while the borders of being a fake couple started to blur.
He's been hurt by love once and that became a reason for him not to love again. Still, he couldn't resist Emmersyn and the walls he built started to crumble. The heat level and the sparks were blowing up every single time they've been together. The love scenes were...OMG...they were perfect. Like both of them have been perfect for each other.
We do have some drama with Emmersyn's ex, but the things got resolved pretty quickly. Which I loooved soo much.
We also have a really qute epilogue, with the author hinting that the next book will be Alix's. This bachelor already met his match and we just have to see who is the mystery girl 🤫.
***I received an advanced reader copy of this book from Valentine PR and this is my honest opinion.***
This was such a cute fake relationship romance! After his divorce Kane is convinced that is heart is as cold as the ice he plays on, but when his sisters best friend is in need of protection, he doesn't even hesitate.. even if that means getting married again (even though he swore he never would again.) But he was so gentle and so swoony with Emmersyn that even he couldn't deny how he felt.
Emmersyn has had her world flipped on her: when she found out about her finances cheating, he beats her and she runs to the first place she knows she'll be safe, but she soon realizes her heart won't be. She falls for Kane almost immediately, and their friendship and banter plus their insane chemistry just made me want to keep reading as fast as I could! I will say I thought the ending was really rushed, but that doesn't take away from the beautiful love story.
**I received an ARC of this book and these are my honest opinions**
This is Kane Andrews and Emmersyn’s journey and what a fantastic addition to the Las Vegas Vipers Series. This book has it all because let’s be honest what’s not to love about a seriously hot hockey player who steps in to help his sisters best friend in her hour of need…… Emmersyn thought she had it all until she her fiancé cheated and then took his guilt and anger out on her, with no where else to turn she seeks help from her best friend who ships her off to Vegas under the protection of her big brother. Kane can never say no to his sister but this time he is seriously wondering what she has got him into but as soon as he sees Emmersyn he knows what he needs to do. So what happens when Kane has the most beautiful woman he has ever seen sleeping in his spare room and will this be the wake up call to realise he no longer needs his ex wife in his life…..one click to find out Goal Chaser ticked all my boxes, I laughed, I swooned and I fell hard and fast for Kane but what took this book to another level was the compassion, the love that Kane showed a complete stranger who turned up on his doorstep battered and bruised, great read that I highly recommend.
We haven’t gotten much Kane in the series before now, so I didn’t know much about him going in but warmed to him right away. He instinctively wants to protect this total stranger and make her feel secure. Emmersyn has been awake for over thirty-six hours and no longer recognizes her life. She was mad when she caught her fiancé cheating but the last thing she expected was for him to snap when confronted. Her best friend puts her on a plane across the country, where her enraged ex can’t find her. Em’s battered, bruised and sore all over but nowhere more than her heart. If ever a girl needed a friend, it’s her.
Instead, she gets a drop-dead gorgeous hockey player willing to do anything to protect her, no matter how crazy. Em and Kane mesh perfectly from the beginning and though they’re both determined to resist the attraction charging between them, it takes on a life of it’s own. Their story is touching and sweet but still manages to be steamy with great suspense. I loved everything about it and never get enough of this series. Let's hope we get Alix’s story next. He needs to find his mystery girl!
AHHHHH Stacey Lynn’s books are always making believe in the most beautiful and real love story 🥺 I’ve read 3 of her books from the Vipers series and each time I had goosebumps for good reasons (and dirty ones 😉). I couldn’t get enough of these this book! I immediately fell in love with the main characters and the story. Love a good fake marriage trope!
Let's start with Emmersyn! Never in my entire life have I related more to a character!!! Like NEVER! I related to all her insecurities and her thoughts. I’ve liked her from the beginning and I just wanted the best for her 🥺 I was so proud that she left this toxic environment with her ex! I almost felt like I was there feeling what she was feeling and it made me go through a rollercoaster of emotions! She is SO brave and she has the biggest heart 🤍
Gosh Kane, I would kiss him and do all the things with him! He’s a god! 😩 And I’m not just talking about his physic. I mean he is so sweet and kind and he is the best. I wish I could have someone like him in my life even just as a friend (although I would prefer if he was more than a friend 😏). He is so good to her and they fit perfectly together.
The thing that made me love him the most is what he tells her after the incident 🥺🥺 I wish I could say more but I’ll spoil something so I’ll let you discover what I’m talking about but I SWEAR you won’t regret reading this book!!!
I would give it infinite stars if I could! It was my favourite of the series so far 😍 I feel like I say that for every book in this series soooo just read them all!
I love a good fake relationship romance novel and this book ended up ticking so many boxes for me, and after finishing this book I can honestly say that this series just seems to get better and better. I loved Kane & Emmersyn’s story. Both were attracted to each other right from the start but were only really interested in the fake marriage that they both agreed to. But of course feelings develop on both sides and I was rubbing my hands together in glee in anticipation of how this part of the story would play out. Yes this storyline has been written time and again, but there was something so special about Stacey’s version that it is now firmly one of my favorite books featuring this trope. I really hope who I think will feature in the next book comes true but I will cross everything I possibly can to make that happen. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book
4.5 stars! A fake marriage hockey romance set in the LV Vipers world? I’m sold! Absolutely loved Kane and Emmersyn, they fit together so well. Emmersyn was a wonderful character, its always great to see a real sized female MC who is comfortable in her own skin and appreciates her curves. Full of romance, amazing spice, and wonderful characters, this was another great addition to this series. While this can be read as a standalone, I highly recommend all the books! Such a fun read. *I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Dang, what a great story this one was! Swoon worthy hockey player, meet's sisters best friend in need, what more could you ask for! This one checked all the boxes, hot, sexy and all the feels! 5 hot hockey stars for this one! Emmersyn has just had her whole planned out life turned upside down by her fiance'. She never thought this would happen to her, but thank god for her best friend who swoops in and send her to Las Vegas to stay with her brother Kane, NHL hockey player, where she'll be safe until things calm down. She's always thought Kane was attractive, so this is a bit uncomfortable of a situation for her. Kane is wondering what his sister has gotten him into now, but when he takes one look at Emmersyn, and see's the damage, he's enraged, and vows to do whatever he can to help her out! Sit back and relax and enjoy this story, I fell in love with these characters, and this storyline, what a great story, you don't want to miss out on this one!
Kane has been our quiet one so far, as the Viper players go. But he did get my attention in a hurry.
The way he jumps in to help Emmersyn, a woman he barely knows but is his sister’s best friend. Kane has an interesting history and thinks he is still in love with his ex-wife. But as he and Emmersyn’s “relationship” develops, will they give in to the attraction? Both are reeling from their past relationships and are a little scared to fall in love again.
Kane’s story is a great addition to the series, and I am excited to read the next book.
Thank you to the Author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.
Kane Andrews Andrews, NHL player for the Las Vegas Vipers is living the dream sort of. His wife divorced him three years ago suddenly and he still hadn’t gotten over it. His only interest is hockey and the upcoming season that’s about to start. Until a friend of his sister shows up beaten and bruised to “hide out” from her ex fiancé. She’s one of the most beautiful women he’s ever seen, but he’s still in love with his ex. Right? Still, he’s extremely attracted to her so when his sister suggests that he marry Emmersyn so she can access her trust fund, he agrees. Because what could go wrong? Another great story by Stacey Lynn with laughter, hot hockey players, and a beautiful woman! And hockey! A MUST READ!
I have been a fan of the Las Vegas Vipers series from the start but Emmersyn and Kane might just be my favorite!
In desperate need of help Emmersyn finds herself on Kane's doorstep hoping for a place to crash and figure out her next steps. Kane, forever the good guy, takes her in with only the intention of helping out his sister's best friend. Things quickly escalate to a fake marriage that brings on some real feelings. With Kane battling insecurities about being in a relationship and Emmersyn battling her ex fiance turned psycho these two have quite the road to travel.
This romance had the perfect amount of hockey, spice, sweetness and a bit of suspense. Great addition to the series!
This is another instalment in the Las Vegas Vipers series where each book can be read as a stand alone, but the books are interconnected. Rest assured you can pick them up in a different order and I don’t think it would be difficult to work things out - but they are truly best in order so you can develop a relationship with some of these characters as they tend to make little cameos here and there.
Kane is a divorcee who has struggled to move on with his life since splitting from his wife. He is definitely not expecting one of his sister’s friends Emmersyn to move in, after she is assaulted by her boyfriend (a grade A cheating rich douche bag to be sure). The couple (with the blessing of Kane’s sister and the other Vipers) decide to get fake married to ward off said douche bag ex and to ensure Emmersyn can access a squillion dollar inheritance left to her by her grandparents.
What follows is both discovering they have some common interests, Kane’s overwhelming sense of feeling responsible for Emmersyn due to the slowly increasing heart flutters she gives him, and the absence of his ex in his thoughts. Emmersyn is reluctant to catch feelings for Kane, not wanting to be dependent on any man, given her previous experience. She also doesn’t trust her own heart as a result.
There’s a lot to love about this one, not least of all the swoonworthy feels, the sexy times, and the one in all in community of the Las Vegas Vipers.
Fake relationship / marriage Sisters best friend City girl - Country boy Sports romance Forced proximity
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thanks to Valentine PR for sending me this book to read and review.
Holy what a read this was! Had my full attention from the very first chapter. Kane and Emmersyn are two perfectly troubled souls who just needed their other half. Both with some deep seated insecurities over their pasts, both need to learn how to push past and move on to find true love. Absolutely fell in love with both these two, both are super sweet, kind and hella hot together. Absolutely one of my favorite series to date.
Another hot hockey story! I swear this series just keeps getting better and better. Emmersyn and Kane’s relationship has all the feels! As always I’m really looking forward to the next one!
Kane and Emmy were magnetic from the start. Kane was wounded from his previous marriage and Emmy was fleeing from an abusive Ex Fiancé- Kane’s sister pleads with her brother to help but in the back of her mind she was ultimately matchmaker.
Throw in a little suspense and you’ve got one great read!
This was such a great story! I loved Kane as he is caring, sweet and totally swoon-worthy. Em is a total sweetheart, and I so felt for her with her ex problems. These two had great chemistry together though they really tried hard to fight it. To be honest, this entire series so far has been so fun to read, and I cannot wait to see if Alix finds his blonde in the next book!
I’ll received a free advanced reader copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving my fair and honest review.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Thank you again to Valentine PR and Stacey Lynn for providing me this book!
Tropes/Themes Forced Proximity, Marriage of Convenience, Sports Romance, Fake Relationship, Abusive Ex Series or Standalone? Standalone in a series of interconnected standalone Cliffhanger? No Type of Relationship M/F Descriptive Sex Scenes? Yes Contains Cheating? No Dual POV Chapters? Yes
EMMERSYN ★★★★★ Emmersyn is just one of those female main characters that makes you feel proud. I was so proud of Emmersyn for allowing herself to get out of her situation and finding help in her best friend. Emmersyn's lack of confidence in her body made her so relatable, I liked that it was there in her mind but she also didn't let it keep her from completely being happy and finding a good safe relationship. I adored Emmersyn's relationship with Heather, seriously such a cute and protective and safe friendship. Also Emmersyn's inner thoughts were cracking me up, she is so bluntly honest in her head it was so funny.
KANE ★★★★★ Holy hot and protective. Kane is soooo fine and the way he immediately wanted to help Emmersyn was so attractive. I loved how hard Kane tried to hide his attraction to Emmersyn but than gave up when he finally understood how attracted and into Emmersyn he was. I am obesesssed with the way that Kane is ALWAYS telling Emmersyn how attractive she is to him and he was constantly building up her confidence. Kane was so predictable when he told Emmersyn "I'll never love you." because it's always the men that say that and then fall hardest and fastest. Kane was fiercely protective and someone I would always want by my side.
🖤Elements I Enjoyed🖤 * Dual POV * Emmersyn's strong will when it came to her relationship and leaving her Ex-Boyfriend. * The TWIST with Kane, I SCREAMED.
Overall review/final thoughts Overall I adored this book, this whole series makes my heart so happy. I loved getting a marriage of convenience and the curvy FMC. The added element of Kane's ex wife giving him trauma and him not wanting to fall in love was so precious because you always know they fall the hardest. Also Emmersyn's ex-fiance being abusive and toxic was a good element and gave Emmersyn good growth and development as a character. This story is super precious and ♥1000/10 if you love a good marriage of convenience with a dash of sports romance!♥

2-2.5-3 stars…this is such a hard book to rate. It wasn’t awful but it wasn’t good either. The characters were lacking personality, relatability, chemistry, and likability. The relationship seemed built around physical attraction and showed no trace of emotional connection. The entire trust fund storyline annoyed me - were we supposed to feel bad for someone that couldn’t access her trust fund yet didn’t even try to support herself by looking for a job? And it was just unnecessary in my opinion, the author could’ve easily just kept the story about an abusive ex and the characters needing to get married for her safety. Not to mention, the writers lack of attention to details and consistency throughout the series is really starting to annoy me (Max was thirty in his book, is said to be three years younger than Kane, yet Kane is also 30…). All in all, I obviously didn’t enjoy this book and I actually skimmed the last third of it just to finish it and move onto my next read.

This book was so good! Fake relationship is probably one of my favorite tropes and this one didn’t disappoint! I absolutely loved Kane and Emmersyn. I really enjoyed how hard they fought their feelings for each other and then when they finally gave in.
Kane and Emmersyn might possibly the least and most perfect of love stories. Kane the protector of all the people he loves. The author writing is flawless, and the words are so captivating, the plot had so many twists and turns and none that I was expecting, and many shockingly intimate I have become a huge fan of this author. The author writes with so much intensity and emotion pulled from each book it’s felt page after page. Some are quick witted story lines are so perfect and lets you believe you have a front row seat. So being able to read this love story didn’t disappoint. The authors ability to have two separate individuals struggling in their everyday life and try to navigate someone else’s thoughts, needs and desires was intense and gives all the fills.

This book has everything I love in a book. Then you add that it's beautifully written and believable. It is easily a five star read. Written in dual POV my personal favorite this story flows so incredibly well that the next thing you know your 80% into the book and loving every second of it. The believable way the characters interact is perfect. Run, Hop, Jump or use your (1 click) finger to do whatever you have to do and get this amazing book. It'll break your heart, you'll want to scream with frustration and it'll let you discover that love just might conquer all. The chemistry is steamy and sweet and oh so romantic.
Goal Chaser Kane and Emmersyn Sisters best friend/Fake marriage
Just when you’ve convinced your heart it can only love one person, along comes a new person who blows it up in the best way.
Emmersyn has been sent to Vegas by her best friend. She’s running from her ex fiancé who she confronted with his cheating. He beat her for questioning him. Now she’s at her best friends brothers house. She has met Kane a few times, but doesn’t know him well. She’s hoping he will take her in till she can get get herself back on track. And that might involve Kane in a way he doesn’t see coming. Kane is enjoying a rare night out when his sister calls him and tells him her best friend is on her way to his place. The woman waiting for him on his front porch sets loose all kinds of emotions in him. Anger, rage, irritation and surprisingly lust. Since his wife walked out on him three years earlier, he’s not so much as looked at another woman yet alone thought of doing other things with one. But first and foremost she needs help. She needs to heal. She needs to figure out how to get her ex to back off. What Emmersyn needs is to gain access to her inheritance. And to do that, she’s needs to be married. Kane is actually willing to do whatever he can to help Emmersyn. Even marry her to keep her ex away. He’s very upfront with her about what he’s willing to do. They can marry, but he’ll never love her. I loved both Kane and Emmersyn. Kane was a good guy. Willing to protect a virtual stranger by marrying her. He thought he still loved his ex. But it was more him feeling guilty for the way she was treated. It took him spending quality time with her and a close call for him to finally admit his feelings for Emmersyn. Being in Emmersyn’s head was heartbreaking. The sadness she carried around, knowing that one more person would never love her. She was a sweet kind person. Giving. Willing to whatever she could for those less fortunate, especially the children. Yet all of her good, she couldn’t understand why she was so unlovable. A good story. Great characters. There are a few bumps along the way from their exes, but they do find their happy ever after. Dual points of view, no cheating.
Kane Andrews, recently named Captain of the Las Vegas Vipers, has focused his life on hockey since his wife divorced him several years ago. Kane is just an all around good guy. He is quiet, works hard, and is there when his friends need him. So when his sister calls him to let him know her best friend is staying with him he jumps right in helping her out. Emmerysn needed to get out of hometown and away from her ex-fiance ASAP, and when her BFF suggested her brother's house in Las Vegas she really had no other options. When Emmersyn lands on Kane’s doorstep he immediately goes into protector mode. Even though her life is spiraling and shifting from what she thought she knew to making plan B and C she is still so kind and thinks of everyone else. To start I loved the relationship that they both had with Kane’s sister, Heather. It is clear that Kane and Heather are very close siblings and he would always step in and help her whenever. Kane and Heather both have a serious protector streak in them. Heather and Emmerysn have been friends for so long, and it is an easy friendship where they may not talk everyday but they would always 100% be there for one another. Kane and Emmersyn build an easy friendship, and from the start you could see the explosive chemistry they would have. But they also have a deep respect for one another and genuinely enjoy being around each other. I especially loved how Kane was able to help Emmersny gain her confidence and encouraged her to seek her dreams. And when they finally own up to their feelings their sexual chemistry is off the charts…these two could not keep their hands off each other. I have long been a fan of the Las Vegas Vipers series, and this book is no exception. Kane and Emmersyn are a beautiful pair that face a lot of obstacles together, and work hard to put each of their pasts aside moving on together. If you love a protective hero, a sweet yet strong heroine, an amazing friend group, marriage of convenience and forced proximity then this should definitely be on your short TBR list.
This was a fun read. I feel like I was kind of let down and was expecting more, but it was a good read.
Emmersyn is best friends with Kane's sister, and after her fiancé assults her, she shows up at Kane's house battered and bruised. He takes her in and helps keep her safe and away from her now ex-fiancé as he's trying to find her and is hunting her down. As they spend more time together, they fall for each other, and then in order to get her inheritance, she needs to find someone to marry, and she hopes that will also her her ex off her back.
Kane has been hurt by love once when he was married to his ex-wife, and he has told himself that he'd never love again. But he couldn't resist Emmersyn and her sweet personality, and the walls he built start to crumble. Their chemistry and love scenes were sincere, and hot off the charts. I loved them together. Although it started as a fake marriage, Kane's feelings for Emmersyn are real and he has to figure out if he will let her break down his walls all the way or not.
I loved seeing Kane and Emmersyn's love story evolve. He broke her out of her shell, protected her and gave her confidence she needed. I loved that he was so in love with her personality and who she was as a person and that he was so humble. Emmersyn was also a really grounded, humble person. After they stopped fighting their chemistry they had for one another, they were amazing together. The only thing that disappointed me in this book was that Kane was so hung up on his ex for so long... and then out of the blue after he and Emmersyn got 'fake' married, his ex called and was all sad and upset he got married even though SHE was engaged? Like, WTF... I could have lived without that petty-ness being in the book. The ending with Kane and Emmersyn's ex was also kind of bizarre and didn't really make a whole lot of sense.. I felt like it was kind of just randomly thrown in there and was hoping for a better ending with Emmersyn's ex... to me the one we got was just kind of bizarre. BUT, this was a great read and I really enjoyed them together!
Happy to be back on the ice with the Vipers! I loved this fake marriage/best friend's brother story, featuring Kane and Emmersyn. This man may be borderline grumpy, given how he's been so withdrawn since the end of his marriage three years ago, but he's definitely one of the good guys! A solid teammate and friend, he wades right in to help his little sister's best friend as she leaves a dangerous and unstable situation with her own ex. Emmersyn has been hurt badly but she is not broken, so I was pleased that she was a fighter. With no family behind her, Kane and Heather have her back, and that alone made me love them. But add in Heather's irrepressible personality and Kane's protective one, and the Andrews siblings became series favorites for me. And Emmersyn is as sweet as they come. One of the best reasons to read series books...the secondary characters that have been woven throughout the stories. The Viper players and their partners are back again in this book, funny and charming as ever. The chemistry between our leads is scorching. But here's my complaint. While I'm all about female characters being written in all shapes and sizes, I take issue with one that is characterized as heavier when she's still smaller than the national average (in the U.S. at least). The mention is made that Emmersyn is a size 10. And yes, while any size can be curvy, the constant mention of it, outside of her own worry, annoyed me. I don't think she was suffering from body dysmorphia; just normal body worry that most women go through. Maybe is she did suffer from that, it wouldn't have triggered me. So that's my soap box moment. I loved the twists; one I saw coming, although maybe not THAT way and one I didn't....and that one inflamed me. LOL, I seem to yell at fictional characters way more than I thought I did! Stacey Lynn is a favorite author for this reader, and I can't wait to see what she has in store for us next.
Goal Chaser is book 6 in Stacey Lynn's Las Vegas Vipers. This is the first book that I've read in the Las Vegas Vipers series and I found it to be a stand alone romance. While there were a few things that I'm sure would have made a little bit more sense if I had read the other five books but over I was happy with the book. Once Kane's wife left him for being a bad husband he decided two things, he was never going to love again or get married. So instead he threw himself into work and its worked out for him. And then one day he gets a phone call from his little sister, Heather. Heather's best friend Emmersyn is in need of a safe place to stay so she sent her to him. While Kane doesn't really want someone he barely knows in his space he knows his sister wouldn't ask for his help unless it was truly necessary. What he didn't expect was how Emmersyn would make him feel... All Emmersyn wants in life is someone to have her back. After being essentially abandoned by her parents and lost her grandparents she needed someone. And she thought she had that in her fiancé, Lincoln, but ohh was she wrong. Not only did he cheat on her, a lot, he also beat her up when she said she was leaving him. Luckily she still had her best friend Heather, and she was able to help her get to a safe space away from Lincoln by hiding out with Heather's older brother Kane. Emmersyn has always had a crush on Kane, but she never did anything about it because he was married. Now that they're sharing the same space again all those feelings are back again. It doesn't help that Heather spilled the beans that in order for Emmersyn to get access to the trust fund her grandparents set up she needs to get married. And because Kane is a good guy he volunteers to be her fake husband with only one condition, he'll never love her. What could go wrong with that arrangement...?
This is book six in The Las Vegas Vipers series and it is Kane and Emmersyn's story and it is definitely a must read. Kane is a hockey player for the NHL hockey team The Las Vegas Vipers and is looking forward to the upcoming season as hockey has been his salvation since his divorce three years ago and he puts everything that he can into his career. When Emmersyn's life is turned up side down by her ex fiance and now battered, bruised and beaten she is grateful when her best friend sends her to stay with Kane so that she can hide and stay safe while recovering from her injuries and being off the grid at the same time and she is so grateful for this help. When Kane sees the condition that Emmersyn is in when she drives on his door step he is so angry and furious and determined to do everything possible to protect and keep her safe. Kane and Emmersyn enter in to a false marriage knowing that love will never enter in to there plans but it will allow Emmersyn to get her inheritance so that she can regain her life. What will happen when feelings start to grow as it will only complicate everything for them but unfortunately some things like feelings can't be controlled but are they both on the same page well you will just have to read this book to see what the outcome would be for them but you will not be disappointed. The characters and storyline pulled you in right from the start and kept your attention throughout and I couldn't put it down as it was a real page turner and so addictive that I read it in one sitting. This is the first book that I have read by Stacey lynn and I enjoyed reading it so much and I can't wait to read more book's by her in the future.
Tropes 🏒 Sports romance 🏒 Siblings best friend 🏒 Marriage of convenience 🏒 Forced proximity 🏒 Slow burn(ish)
I loved Shot Taker so I was SO excited to get the next book in the series! As you all know, fake dating is my JAM. While it was a bit of a slow burn, nothing physical happening until about half way through, man was it worth the wait.
It’s always so hard for me to review a book I gave 5 stars because I’m in love with it but can’t give too much away and spoil it. Kane is such a good guy and easily made it to my top 10 book boyfriends. He supported her with no questions asked with anything she needed and would drop everything for her. Emmersyn had a bit of a sucky life but she wanted to do amazing things and I really felt for her with her crappy ex Lincoln… ugh I hate that guy. I was waiting for him to make this big move, and while he did, it wasn’t the one I was expecting or at who I was expecting so it was some nice suspense. I would have liked the epilogue to be a bit more in the future but that’s my personal preference with epilogues, but the book was great regardless!
Thank you so much Valentine PR and Stacey Lynn for giving me the ARC. I can’t wait for everyone else to fall in love with Kane like I did on September 20th!
