Jeanine has to be the worst parent.. 🥴this book provided the background of Axel and Jeanine’s entanglement. Honestly, Isa should have been skeptical when Axel proposed so quickly.. I am curious to see how things turn out and if they can rekindle their mother/daughter relationship.

Jeanine and Axel I tried to give ya some grace, but I don’t like the deceit and lies by omission. Ooohhhhh Isa… I’m heading on over to book 3 NOW after this cliffhanger!

queen of cliffhangers
I'm usually the one to throw a book when it ends in a cliffhanger, but K.L. Hall has a way of making me hold my breath until the next book. The secrets just can't seem to stay secret with the Lavender family and I am 100% here for the mess. I thought this installment would make me hate Jeanine even more, but it actually made me understand her plight. Still don't condone what she did to her daughter, but the unfolding makes it a lot less foul. But that Axel is a whole other type of foul. Can't wait to see what happened in the final book because now Isa got me made I was rooting for her this whole time. Imani and Bleu the only solid ones, and I hope I don't have to eat those words when book 3 comes.

I was just waiting for this. I knew that the author was gonna make Isa cheat to justify what her mother did. But it simply doesn’t work like that. Her mother willingly slept with her daughter’s fiancé and for that she’s an awful person. Despite her cheating, Janine nor Axel knew the Isa was cheating so they did slept together on their own will, not because of Isa‘s actions. I genuinely hope that they don’t end up together. It’s just an overall disgusting situation.

First of all Isa and Imani being upset 😡 with their Mother I understand that but it seems like they are really not looking at Axel part. When he realized they were mother and daughter he should of left Isa alone? When was Isa cheating? Or was she pregnant before she meet him?

Ma’am! I see what you tried to do but no. I see how you tried to pain a pretty picture for this couple to make up for the foul shit they did but I’m not falling for it! BEAT THEIR ASSES NOW!! Jeanine and Axel is dead wrong and they need their asses beat( yes I said it again). As a mother, why would you even want to put your child through this turmoil? There’s NO plausible explanation nor was there a sufficient argument offered for the hot messy azz geriatric love triangle‼️Depressed (BS!)⁉️ It’s been thirteen years since your husband’s death, seek therapy…take Xanax…read a book…get a hobby…go shopping (2x)…buy a dog…go to church…get a new hair style…indulge in self care spa-cation…book a silver single’s cruise etc. Basically, both Jeanine & Axel are selfish, reckless, irresponsible, vial ppl and share culpability for Isa’s unnecessary heart ache & emotional distress. The opportunity to recitify this mess presented itself at Akari Sushi & Soup when everyone publicly meet. “That was the precise moment a grown woman would have discretely handled an awkward situation. Graphic details weren’t necessary. Simply state, (Axel & I) met months ago, we briefly dated casually & it’s over ! Like I understand you met him first and you were messing around but the minute you found out that he was with your daughter eitherYou should have cut ties and then told her because that would have made this whole situation better.. My mouth is on the flo!!!!! Book 1 ended with my mouth wide open BUT babyyyyyyyyeeeee I didn’t see the ending coming for book 2. They momma disgusts me, because once you realized what was what you should have stepped back and left it at that, but she was weak and selfish. Now I originally thought Isa would have at least slapped her momma or Axel but sis came back with the ultimate betrayal and I ain’t even feel bad cause Axel and her momma was dead wrong for moving how they did. I digress!!!! If y’all looking for drama, messy, sex, and a good read start this series. On to book 3, dying to see how this ends.

I was irritated 70% of this book for the simple fact the mother knew she was sleeping with a daughters man and kept doing it all the way up to her daughter's wedding day! Just a hot mess! Both mama and Axel are trash and don't deserve a HEA! I hope Isa gets one ( even if she cheated) it can't be worse that what her mama did.. if so they both don't deserve a HEA. Now who is the baby daddy!? Ready for the next installment!

I didn't really wanna know Jeanine's backstory, because I am so mad at her trifling ass! This is your daughter! Why would you not tell her, and allow her to make an informed decision? June 19, 2022Wrong, wrong, wrong! Without releasing spoilers, one of my major issues of this book was the way Axel spoke. He did not speak like a white man at all. His mannerisms and tone were not typical. I don't like the idea surrounding Isa and looking for that truth in the next book in the series. This feels like a doggone soap opera...As the World Turns meeting the Young and the Restless needing some Guiding Light.

This book is just full of shocking surprises. Axel and Jeanine's backstory explains how they met but they are still wrong for what they continued to do behind Isa's back. Thank god she has Imani and Bleu as support. I guess we can say Isa isn't as innocent either after that shocking confession. This is like watching a soap opera with the all the scandal that's to come. I definitely have my suspicions about who the baby daddy could be but I'll wait for part 3 to find out for sure.

K.L. Hall brought the MESSS. Not Momma out here dropping it low and spreading it wide! 😂 The scandal between Jeanine and Axel had me hooked because whew, they could’ve had it all if they had just been up front about everything. But no, they were messy with it from start to finish, and that’s exactly what kept me turning the pages.
The drama was top tier, and the storytelling pulled me right back into the Potomac Falls world. Now I’m sitting here like…Lord, where is book three?

From jump I really didn’t care to know Axel and Jeanine’s back story because they are foul. So of course I am side eyeing them for the majority of the book😂. I am happy Imani ( and Dallas) are there for Isa. Now I can’t wait for the next book to relish in Axel’s jaw dropping!

Yoooo! That ending. Isa's get back was everything. This book is not about Jeanine and Alex's HEA, thank God.
Jeanine was an awful momma. I can't imagine ever doing that shit to my daughter or my mom doing that to me. We are in unforgiven territory. Let's see what happens in book 3.

This book is so damn MESSY! Chile Jeanine is a selfish hot ass mess. I'm sure she is one of those "I did my best" parents. Nah sis, no you didn't! At every opportunity she made the wrong choice. SMH The ending was perfect!
