Janet and Edward are enjoying life in Doveby Dale, planning their carriage house remodel, when Mr. Jones arrives with a new and rather urgent assignment. Another agent has disappeared. While there are any number of possible explanations for the disappearance, none of them are good.
As Janet and Edward follow the missing man's trail from Edinburgh to Paris to Berlin, it begins to seem as if he’s disappeared by choice, which raises a number of other worrying possibilities.
Has the agent been taken or has he disappeared voluntarily? Are Janet and Edward walking into a trap? And is this going to be their most dangerous assignment yet?
Diana started self-publishing in 2013 and over a decade later she now has over a hundred books available for readers. Writing remains her passion and she has no plans to stop writing in the foreseeable future.
Diana grew up in Erie, Pennsylvania, and earned a history degree from Allegheny College. She met her husband, an Englishman, while living and working in Washington, DC. Following their marriage, she moved to Derbyshire. A short while later, the happy couple moved to the Isle of Man.
During their years on the island, Diana and her husband welcomed two children, and Diana completed a master’s degree in the history of the island. In 2008, the family made the decision to move to the US. Now empty-nesters, Diana and her husband are living in the suburbs of Buffalo, New York, and contemplating moving somewhere that doesn’t get snow.
Diana also writes mystery/thrillers set in the not-too-distant future as Diana X. Dunn and Young Adult fiction as D.X. Dunn.
Another (typically) Unbelievable, Inconsistent, Over-The-Top, Melodramatic presentation. Add to this a return of numerous typos, possibly suggestive that the primary focus of producing these books is of quantity rather than quality. This assignment, which continues to lampoon the British Secret Service, is most likely to have appeal for young male teenagers who enjoy imaginative treasure hunts, complete with codes and clues. Spread over three cities (two in one continent and in another) separated only by a singular Ocean (Atlantic), which appears that the author has little information about, hardly constitutes “Cities all over the world”.
When experienced agent Roland George suddenly goes incommunicado while on holiday, Edward and Janet Bennett are recruited to try to find him. Cryptic clues lead them from Edinburgh, to Paris, Berlin, and Toronto.
George appears to want Edward to find him, but not any of the other Agency personnel. Is George in danger? Are Edward and Janet heading into a trap? Or is George hiding a secret, even from his longtime friend?
I really liked this book. Janet and Edward become embroiled in another mystery and have to work for the Agency again, this time to find one of their operatives called George. However George keeps leaving clues for Edward and Janet to find. George has a secret that he doesn't want to disclose to anyone. Edward and Janet help him. I can't wait to read the next book.
It is always a delight to read about Edward and Janet Bennett’s adventures. This thrilling kidnapping adventure jet sets them to Paris, Berlin and Toronto.
