Someone has erased profiler Gabe Buchanan’s identity…and now they’re trying to kill him. And although Chief Warrant Officer Hannah Austin betrayed him in the past when she was undercover investigating his friend, now she’s his only hope to stay alive and restore his name. With the clock ticking down, can they track down the killer who wants to silence him permanently?

If you enjoy inspirational suspense, look no further. From the first chapter to the last, this one manages to keep the action ramped up very well indeed. Jodie Bailey has been a favorite since I first read a book by her and I very much look forward to each release. Recommended.
My thanks to the author and publisher for a copy of this book electronically. The opinion here is my own.
"At this point, he'd be surprised if he ever slept again, especially with New Justice Network blasting his secrets all over the internet. How had his life turned into spy thriller?"
I loved this story! It has a great backstory for Hannah and Gabe, lots of excitement and a fantastic mystery dating back nine years to when Gabe and Hannah first met. I had real trouble putting this book down! Jodie's stories never miss for me, her books are always among my favorite reads. Another one for my keeper shelf!
I received a copy of this book from the author and was not required to post a positive review. All thoughts are my own.
Woohoo, twisty turny and completely riveting. Love the cyber aspects of the crime — the concept of losing your entire identity in this day and age with all the repercussions! Shudder! That’s a nightmare all on it’s own but add in the relentless pursuit of the villains and, yikes, hair-raising stuff!
This is a kinda second chance romance — Gabe and Hannah were good friends in college, on the cusp of something more until….well, you’ll have to read the book ’cause it’s complicated. 🙂
This was my first book by Jodie Bailey and I greatly enjoyed it. I am sure it will not be the one and only book I read by this author. A suspense. Betrayed by a friend. And now that friend is coming to you for help on her team. But can you trust her? And now someone wants you dead! Trust is something that is going to have to happen, if he wants to stay alive. A quick and enjoyable read. Yes, its a suspense but I don't think it got to a level that I was stressed while reading. Would recommend to a friend.
I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review and that is what I have provided.
Gabe and Hannah used to know each other in college but circumstances back then had kept them apart. Now, when Hannah approaches Gabe for help on a project it seems the timing is bad all over again, because Gabe has somehow wandered into the sights of someone who wants him dead.
With a lot of action and constant nail-biting suspense, there's enough story here to keep you on the edge of your seat just with that portion of the storyline. Add in the soft, sweet romance (which seems at odds with the intensity of the storyline but isn't with such interesting characters) and you've got a winner. And of course, yes there are spiritual notes to the story, which is nice. The faith element feels very natural, but then Gabe and Hannah are real people, right? Well, they certainly feel that way.
I loved reading this story and enjoyed the fast pacing. I'm definitely going to be on the look out for other books by Jodie Bailey!
Another great military related mystery novel by Jodie Bailey. She continues to come up with unique storylines with plots I could never create in my mind. Gabe Buchanan is the the main character who many can relate to. He has a unique job but doesn't consider himself a hero, just a regular guy. His life is turned upside down when his identity and life are attacked. Hannah is a Warrant Officer and strong female character. She has a past with Gabe but they work to overcome it to solve a case. Deadly Vengeance can be read as a stand alone novel, or you can read more about the Unit and characters in other books in the series.
This was a great read. It was a unique story with flawed but lovable characters. My favorite part of the book was how it ended. I can’t elaborate without ruining it, but I enjoyed how the author did the unexpected.
This is the first time I've read Jodie Bailey but it definitely won't be the last! All I can think is...where have you been all of my book life? I was hooked from the first page and couldn't put this book down until the last page. Ms. Bailey does an amazing job with character development and scene description. The reader is drawn into the story and can feel the anticipation of what is about to happen; it is absolutely exhilarating!
Deadly Vengeance By Jodie Bailey Wow, Jodie Bailey has did it again, she has another winner. Action, mystery, and suspense around every corner. Someone has erased profiler Gabe Bunchan identity and wants him dead. The one person might help him is from his past and betrayed him. Can Hannah keep him alive long enough to help him restore his name? Another edge of your seat story, so hang on really tight. Loved the story and the characters, both were well developed. I was given a copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
Deadly Vengeance is an exciting, inspiring story. As the title suggests, revenge is a motive here for all kinds of mischief and mayhem including erasing the identity of a cyberpsychology profiler and trying to kill him. The intriguing plot compellingly twists and turns as it progresses to a very unexpected ending. The characters are engaging and believable. I appreciate the valuable faith lessons that were skillfully incorporated into the story. A touch of second chance romance adds interest. This is the first book I have read by Ms. Bailey, and I look forward to reading more of her works. I enjoyed this book, and I think all fans of inspirational suspense will enjoy it, too. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author/publisher with no obligation to write a positive review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Another great book from Jodie. She has a fantastic way of keeping my attention from the first word to the last. I love that Hannah is such a strong, albeit flawed, hero and that Gabe is strong in his own way, but that neither fits the expected mold. My only regret with this book is that it’s not longer. I would love to spend more time with all of the characters.
I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for my unbiased and honest review.
Deadly Vengeance was a really good story. It was a little slow at first for me, but that didn't last long. Great story and a totally unexpected ending. I love those.
3.5 So after reading my last book, this was as infinitely more engaging. The main couple was alright, I was more invested in the on going plot. The mystery of who was trying to kill... Gabe. Unlike my last read I was engaged, maybe because you can actually see this happening. How many times has a person's computer been hacked and their information stolen? Everything is digital nowadays everything. So to not just have your identity stolen or hacked but to be completely erased, is intriguing. I've read Jodie Bailey before and haven't been really impressed. like I can't remember the other two books all that well and I'm sure I read them this year. But this one I did genuinely enjoy. So recommended? Sure Buy/Borrow? Borrow
They may want to go past ruining your life - they may want you dead!
Gabe is a forensic psychologist and digital sociologist, in other words a profiler that suggests probable behavior in a subject. Busy in his own business, he has no idea what the army would want from him, but the invitation has him questioning. Meeting his old girlfriend Hannah, now a Chief Warrant Officer, seems to bring a whole world of problems his way.
The author has done a fabulous job of keeping you guessing throughout the whole story. Why is Gabe being targeted? After all, he was just a possible recruit to work with the classified unit in the army. Who would want to wipe his very existence off the map? There is plenty of action and danger - will he survive long enough to solve this mystery?
An early copy was received through Love Inspired Suspense, Harlequin and BookFunnel. These thoughts are my own and were in no way solicited.
Deadly Vengeance is another fast-paced and enjoyable book by Jodie Bailey. I appreciate how each of her Love Inspired Suspense books are written around a Bible verse and accompanying theme. They make me reflect on my own beliefs, faith, and existence in the great wide world. In this book, I am reminded that we are each an individual who is “fearfully and wonderfully made.” The MC in this book, Gabe, has past emotional trauma and feels pressure to become someone he’s not. We, as readers, get an action-packed adventure where he eventually realizes that he not only likes who he has become, but that he does not need to prove that to anyone but himself. Because God made him perfectly that way. It’s a powerful reminder to all of us: what we believe are weaknesses or undesirable traits are STILL made perfectly by Him. I highly recommend all of Bailey’s books for inspirational messages and, of course, entertainment!
What a wild beginning. If this thriller had kept up the rapid-paced suspense, I would have ended up short of breath. Pairing a secret military operation with a talented profiler leads to attacks that keep ramping up. Gabe Buchanan doesn’t want to believe someone’s out to kill him, but something from his past now endangers his future. The intrigue and powerful plot held me bound as I raced to find out how this mystery would unfold and if it would have a satisfying ending. The author created a great cast of authentic characters to carry out the compelling tale. Recommended. I received a copy from the author. All opinions are my own.
A great suspenseful book. (Note the cover photo is not in the book that I found.) Someone is erasing Gabe Buchanan's identity and after several attempts on his life apparently they are trying to do away with him! But why? Chief Warrant Office Hannah Austin arrives to save his life but she believes she is the reason he is in danger! What is going on? Why is someone trying to kill him? and why are they trying to erase him in the digital world? Will they be able to figure it out in time?
Jodie Bailey draws in her reader from the first chapter of Deadly Vengeance, and keeps them wanting more. The book is an action-packed adventure that keeps you on the edge of your seat wondering who is after Gabe Buchanan and who wants to make sure he doesn't exist! So, get comfy in your favorite reading spot and get ready for this action-packed read!!
This is the first book that I have read from Jodie Bailey and I will be reading more of her books! The plot gives you twists and turns to keep you reading to see "Who did it?". As always I enjoy the lessons on Faith from this book. This is another great read from the Love Inspired Suspense books.
Jodie Bailey has done it again. The twists and turns in this story made it more a mystery than a romance, which was the perfect slant. The characters are likeable and well developed, the interactions realistic and the geographic details accurate. It's an easy read that will leave you wondering how you missed that one detail that had you guessing the wrong person was "it." I highly recommend!
Well-written book.Lot of suspense and I could not guess who was the main culprit, which has happened rarely. Really enjoyed reading it. At no point did I feel bored or skipped parts. The insecurity of MCs was handled really well.
