Lucy Lucy thought her life couldn’t get any worse after becoming homeless - until she found herself forced to sleep alone at a dark and scary construction site after being beaten and robbed of her last few possessions. All she’d ever wanted was a normal life - whatever that meant - and to be loved and cared for. Sadly, she’d discovered early that she wasn’t likely ever to get what she wanted. But that never stopped her from dreaming and wishing for a better future. Maybe one day.
Wolf People think he looks like a monster, and he can be when it comes to protecting those he cares about. But on the inside, Wolf is all heart and what he really wants and hopes for is someone who can look past his scary exterior and come to crave the love, care, and protection he can provide. Although he’s pretty sure that isn’t in the cards because of the darkness inside him, he envies what his brothers have with their Littles. It will take a special person to break through the dark shell that he’s built around himself.
Can two people from tragic backgrounds come together and teach each other how to really live again?

3.5 stars. So, so sweet. I absolutely love when there’s ‘found-family’ feels in books, and this series has had that in spades. I love Wolf. He’s such a big softie. And then seeing all the side characters, some who have books already, and the rest who don’t yet, all interacting and loving each other like one big family. It was so sweet and so heartwarming.
I loved the relationship. It was so supportive and understanding and healing. The sex was hot, with a bit of kink and roughness to spice it all up. There wasn’t a ton of age-play, I would’ve enjoyed one or two more scenes where she’s getting to explore that more. But, I still really enjoyed what we did get, with the other Littles taking her into the fold and totally accepting her, basically immediately.
It was just a good read. I’m really looking forward to the next book in the series.
Romance trope: DD/lg Series: Daddies of the Shadows Length: 250 pages
Plot: Wolf goes to one of his work sites to pick something up before a big storm hits. Instead, he finds Lucy, homeless and shivering in the cold. He takes her home and gets her patched up, but she has more problems than just where to live.
Commentary: Poor Wolf - I liked that he wasn't completely anti-woman even though he was anti-Christmas/fun/joy (he wasn't looking for a woman but he didn't push her away). What a horrible tragedy to suffer. The story was well-written, although having all the brothers be secret mercenary jack-of-all-trades is a little bit of a stretch (unless there's a whole hidden underground of contractor/hostage rescuers/Daddies that I don't know about, which is highly possible). It was handy to have an Irish mob boss in the pocket, and I'm sure we'll get his story as well in time.
Previous book in the series: Beau Next book in the series:Leo
~Lucy is on the run. She didn’t think it could get worse than being homeless but then she’s beaten and robbed. The only bright side is the kitten she found at the construction site she’s hiding in. Wolf will do anything for those he loves. Finding a Little was surprising but not unwelcome. Now he needs to find out what she’s running from so he can protect her.~
This was super sweet! Lucy is so shy and innocent, it’s hard not to adore her. Wolf is the perfect match for her, and vice versa. I love that she opens him up to Christmas and genuinely makes him happy. So cute!
This was another letdown in the series. The drama surrounding her brother took forever to happen. Along with that, the majority of this book are scenes of the main characters being in the house and it really made the book drag because nothing really happened. There are only so many spanking and sex scenes you can have before it gets repetitive.
Okay first of all. I only gave it 4 stars because it was super fast! Like one minute I’d think weeks had passed then they’d be like I’ve only known her a week and it was confusing and seemed wayyy too fast. That being said wolf was super fun to read about. I had been waiting for his book. Also Lucy was adorable. I kept waiting to find out how old they were because Lucy says he’s older by a chunk but doesn’t say by how much and I was just curious. Overall the story was cute and I enjoyed it tons
Tropes: touch her and d!e(which should be a given at this point), over protective MMC, alphahole, age gap, hurt/comfort, instant love
Spice: 🌶️🌶️.5 Steam: 🔥🔥🔥 Sweetness: 💗💗💗 Big bad softies: 😇
The hurt/comfort in this book is so sweet. So happy to see Wolf find someone even if he is a touch overprotective. Also love seeing all the women get on so well!
The story is heartwarming and heartbreaking. It draws you in. It was so perfect real, emotional, and great. I thought this was the one for some reason no one understands how a limits talk works. In every book where the sub/little is a girl they just agree to everything the dom/daddy wants. Subs have limits that doms must follow. Without them it just becomes one sided and abusive. Just once I would like to see the female Sub have limits and hold to them. Once I would like to see a safewords used and the book show how a good dom should handle it. This book would have been the perfect story to show both. To show how a good healthy BDSM relationship should look like. Books with male subs and male doms show these things. They even show doms using safewords, and receiving aftercare. They also show the doms using cooling cream after a punishment which should always be used otherwise real lasting damage could be done and it is abuse. And while it is a common practice ask any doctor ginger or anything not designed and made for the body should be used in that fashion at all. Not only that but it can be extremely damaging to a sensitive spot like the anus. But whenever the dom and sub are of the opposite sex or the dom is female the limits and safewords are never used correctly. Giving BDSM the bad reputation, and risking people’s safety if they try what is in the book.
Please authors do better. BDSM will never get past the stigma, it will never become legal if you all do not show it like it should be. I am not saying there aren’t bad doms and subs there are. But believe it or not books is where we can make the difference.
BDSM is illegal in most places because you can not legally consent to abuse of any kind. And BDSM is exactly that if not done right. It makes it very hard for a sub to get help from police and friends when needed. They are ignored, and sometimes sent on a mental health hold due to wanting to be hurt. Please stop defending the stereotype.
Wolf has finally found his little wolf. Kate Oliver writes some of the best Daddy books. Daddies of the Shadows book 4, Wolf, is the story of Wolf and Lucy. Going to his job sight to buckle down before a big storm, Wolf never expected to find a lost, beaten "Little Girl" and her kitten hiding in the house. Without a second thought he scoops Lucy and her little companion up and takes her home to care for her. Lucy has been used and betrayed by her half brother and is running for her life. Fate, some Devine help from Wolf's deceased mom and the Christmas spirit, brings these two together and helps them both heal and find true love. This is definitely a five star read and perfect for the holiday. kate-oliver
Oh yeah, definitely a favorite of the year so far. This was perfection. Wolf was so much better than I imagined. And Lucy has a place in my heart forever. 🩶 So damn good!
I’m sooo excited to read Leo & Claire’s story!!

This book is so good. It makes you smile and tugs at your heartstrings. Wolf and Lucy share so much emotion and it leaps from the pages into your heart. I would definitely recommend this book to read especially for lovers of the Daddy/little genre.
Lucy thought her life couldn't get worse - she had been beaten and robbed of her last few possessions and was now trying to sleep alone at a dark and scary construction site. All she wanted was a normal life with a future - maybe one day. Wolf might look like a monster especially when it comes to protecting those he cares about. He is all heart and needs someone to look past his scary exterior and crave the love and protection he can provide but he knows that the darkness inside him stops that from being a possibility and so he just has to watch and be envious of his brothers and their Littles. Can two people from tragic backgrounds come together and teach each other how to really live again?
This was a sweet story with a nice Christmas focus too involving all of the Daddies and their littles. I loved the deep introspection that Wolf went through and the fact that he was pulled out of that by and for Lucy. There were some dangerous and dramatic moments but thankfully there were no serious injuries. Easy to read and understand. The emotional side of things was well written. This story contains mature content involving a BDSM DDLG relationship.
Wolf meets Lucy when she’s hiding in his building site, as she’s homeless. Lucy is on the run and hiding from some really people. Wolf is a really really dominate daddy and at times it was a bit uncomfortable to read. I don’t find it sexy when the men wipe their bottoms, after using the toilet. 🤮 Sorry it’s a step too far.
Also I get that the women regress into a lot younger age, mentally, but that doesnt mean they do physically. Wolf puts Lucy to bed at frigging EIGHT PM then expects her to sleep till 8am. That’s 12 hours, then an hour nap in the day!!! So he expects a grown woman to sleep THIRTEEN HOURS A DAY!!! That’s just silly, and yes I know it’s a punishment as she was naughty but still………
I really didn’t enjoy this one. Wolf has a lot of issues and while I understand why he’s the way that he is, I didn’t like it. He’s way way over the top in telling her what to do. Expecting her to sit watching telly all day, while he’s busy. She’s not allowed out in the snow as she might get cold. Oh dear. Nope! Also nothing happens. There’s a tiny bit of excitement near the end and that’s it. Its rather boring.
- an age play romance! homeless FMC, instalove, daddy k!nk, age gap, found family, hurt/comfort! - oh i do love a homeless MC - and she has a kitten?! this is off to a great start - Lucy is so sweet, loved her instantly - Wolf is acc such a teddy bear i cannot cope - not the mafia being involved 😂😂 - Wolf waited a whole 24 hours before he kissed the homeless woman he picked off the streets… if this wasn’t a book i would be concerned - it was really sweet them opening up to each other about their past traumas - okay but i’m obsessed with the little wolf nickname that is too cute - love how Lucy bonded with all the other women! such a good found family - all do the Christmas countdown things they did with everyone was so wholesome!! - GREAT sex scenes - now that was a GREAT third act conflict!! actually had the action in it instead of just being told about it - and loved reading how they coped (or not coped lol) with the aftermath of what happened in the restaurant - Leo and Wolf’s talk🥺 - okay amazing epilogue!! - this this might be my fav so far, they were just so stinking cute
I enjoyed this read, loved Wolf and Lucy!! Their getting together was a bit quick, I would’ve like a bit more mutual pining. But we did get to the smut quick which I liked and there was a lot more of it in this story, a lot more punishment’s too. The plot was interesting and different, and I liked the Christmas theme of the book.
There were parts I did not like at all. Any mention of wiping bottoms or pooping in front of Wolf was so cringy. Why would you do that?? 🤣 I think I’m scarred for life lol
I’m sorry but I’m also tired of Claire and Leo, they make me cringe, I have literally zero interest in them and will not be reading their book. I really wish Leo wasn’t a Daddy and knew that his son’s were also Daddies. The scene where he’s talking about that dynamic with Wolf was hard to get through. A father should not know this info about his sons and if he does, please god do not talk about it!!
All in all, a sexy fun Christmas read with a lot of spice and a bit of cringe lol
Wolf is the fourth installment in Kate Oliver’s Daddies of the Shadows series. In it she chronicles the romantic journey of Lucy and Wolf. In this character-driven age-play romance, readers witness how they navigate their internal emotional demons as they get to know each other and find ease, comfort and love. Ms. Oliver does a remarkable job with this age-play romantic. I enjoyed her skill with creating multi-dimensional leading characters that are strong, determined, confident yet vulnerable. It is captivating to see how she captures their growth as this story progresses. Keeping to the consistent pattern of other installents in tis series, Ms. Oliver adds a bit of suspense with her antagonist, Rick, who is Lucy’s brother, Rick worked for the Irish mob as an accountant and laundered illegal funds through Lucy’s account. Then he beats her and threatens to kill while pinning the theft on her. Readers have to read this installment to see what happens to Rick. Lastly, I appreciate Ms. Oliver’s skill with descriptive scenes further pull her readers into her captivating tale. Nicely done, Ms. Oliver.
Read another book by this author, not realizing she specializes in Daddy-kink, which is not my jam, but it's my fault for not researching before going in. I'm not sure why I even had this book, but I gave it a go.
This takes the daddy kink up to levels I am not comfortable with, so it was a quick dnf for me. If you are like me and are willing to give anything a chance but also might not be that keen on DDLG (is that right?), this goes beyond merely the guy wanting the woman to call him Daddy, and caretaking/reward/discipline that you often see with this theme. This is full on role/age play (I don't know if that's the right term either) where the woman dresses, acts, and does activities you would associate with a young girl, I'd say between the ages of 5-10. And it seems to be fully immersive, that they may be in these roles way more than they are out of them. It doesn't seem like it's certain days of the week or merely acting out a scene, but a more constant everyday occurrence. Just not my thing.
This is not yucking on anyone's yum, you do you. Just a head's up for those who might want to know it's more than just your typical daddy fare.
first off thank you Kate for allowing me the chance to read these books as arcs, I love all the daddies of the shadows!
this is book 4 in the series & Wolf was definitely a story I was intrigued by, I felt like every book he was such a mystery & you just never knew what he was feeling or thinking, besides the fact that he was a softie for the littles & always was so easily riled up by safety. I loved that about him & was so excited when I found out his book was early in the series!
it’s a continuation after Ash, Beau & Colt found there HEA’s, he finds a girl, Lucy, who is dire need of help and is scared to death, Wolf instantly feels a connection to Lucy & wants to do whatever he can to make her smile & happy & safe, while also realizing in himself what he wants to do to change for her.
this one was a little less angsty than the first 3 books, but still good in its own way, I felt it was more fitting for Wolf & Lucy’s story in some ways, but it was less angsty than books 1-3.
Wolf finds Lucy at his construction site when he goes back to get his computer. She's hiding, hoping she won't be found but Wolf sees her and her bruises. He takes her back to his house as it is winter and snow is falling. Lucy does not want to tell Wolf who gave her the bruises. Wolf is glad she is warm and safe, knowing he will push her later for answers. When she does give him her story later, Wolf starts looking for those who did it with the help of his brothers and their previous assistance requestors. Will Wolf find who hurt Lucy? Will Lucy get comfortable with being with Wolf and the rest of his family?
I enjoyed this book. I was glad Wolf found her. I could feel her fear of Wolf and letting down her guard. I liked that Wolf felt so strongly towards Lucy. I appreciated Wolf and his family reaching out for help to find Lucy's abusers. I also liked the easy acceptance that Lucy found in Wolf's family. Wolf's uncertainty when dealing with Lucy was so sweet.
I am loving this series. I hope (hint, hint) that Declan gets a story or a spin-off series.
Wolfe's life had never been easy. He never seemed to be welcome anywhere he went. He survived by his wits and muscles. Wolfe knew he'd never find anyone to accept him into their home. That was until he met Lucy. She gave him feelings he'd only seen in his friends. Lucy's life wasn't easy either but she was trying. Could they come together forever? WOW! I have to tell you, this series is one of the VERY best. It's easy to get caught up in the story. Kate Oliver has the ability to draw the reader in, one page at a time. The characters are so real they leap off the page. I felt as if I were sitting in the same room with this couple. You may balk at the subject matter but I implore you to step out of your comfort zone and read this series,
I didn't find any issues. This book does have adult themes and some triggers. You can't go wrong with this one.Try it anyway.
Honestly? This book deserves so much more than just 5 stars. Wolf is book number 4 in Ms. Oliver's Daddies of the Shadows series and it's my favorite to date. Wolf finds his Little in Lucy when he has to go back and get his laptop from a construction site. Unable to leave her alone, he talks her into coming home with him so she won't be cold. Little by little, Lucy inches her way into his heart but she loves Christmas while he hates it. Reminds him of his past too much. I loved getting to see all of Wolf's brothers, their ladies and Leo, their foster dad! (there's a story for Leo coming also) The whole story gave me all the fuzzy, happy and good feelings. Can Wolf and his brothers protect Lucy from her horrible stepbrother? Have I said how much I loved this story? LOL It's so good, so well written and I can't wait for more stories in this series!!!
Omg! I can’t even tell you how much I loved this story! My heart is incredibly full and I have to say, I didn’t want this book to end! Wolf has obliterated my heart with his big Daddy personality and with how he takes care of Lucy, his own little wolf. Lucy is such a breath of fresh air and I couldn’t help but love her contagious personality. When these two come together, the chemistry is so sizzling, I swear my kindle almost caught on fire! Wolf will do anything to protect Lucy and the same goes for her. The two of them together will just make you swoon!
I love how each of these stories also has some kind of suspense added in, which makes me enjoy them even more. This author has such a way with words that makes you get completely invested with the characters and storyline. Love this series!
Wolf is part of the series of Daddies of the Shadows. It's my favorite of the series so far!
Wolf is such a big, growly guy yet he is a teddy bear when it comes to women and children. He comes across a small injured woman when he had to grab something from his construction site. Unable to leave her alone, hurt and scared on such a cold night he offers to take her to his place.
Lucy has had a hard time lately and been doing what she has to just to survive. While Wolf seems like he should be a scary guy, he goes out of his way to make sure she feels safe.
Wolf gives her so much more than a safety. He gives her love, support, the strict discipline she needs. Because of him and his amazing brothers she finds a family.
This is book 4 in the Daddies of the Shadows Series. Lucy was living on the streets after her brother betrayed her when Wolf found her at his construction site half frozen and clutching a tiny kitten. Life has been hard for Lucy as she did not have a typical childhood. This is her first year celebrating Christmas and she is very excited! Unfortunately Wolf has a tragic past that revolves around Christmas. I loved seeing Wolf and Lucy fall in love! Wolf is a big, tough guy but he would do anything for his little wolf including overcoming his past tragedies so that his little girl can have the Christmas she deserves. I laughed a lot over the Christmas sweaters and gingerbread decorating. All in all this was a super sweet Dd/lg romance with an amazing couple that you will love!
Eek Wolfie... Been looking forward to Wolf's book he has so much love to give. Christmas is such a hard time of year for him. Lucy is on the run with nowhere to go, unfortunately this has left her homeless. She's discovered hiding out on a construction site by the big bad Wolf. But will he turn out to be like the wolf out of Little Red Riding Hood? With no other option that to put her trust into the hands of this scary but sexy giant she lets him take her home to warm up and be checked over, will she ever leave? Wolf does so much emotional growing in this book and his heart is rewarded for that. Wolf treasures her and just wants to coddle her the whole way through and it's honestly the sweetest thing.
I love the Daddies of the Shadows. I think Wolf is my favorite so far (but Hawk might be my favorite overall - can't wait for his book). Wolf's past is tragic and having a huge family has not helped him come to terms with it, so far. Lucy's life has been hard but a grumpy Christmas Daddy is just what she needs and Lucy is just what the Grumpy Daddy needs.
It's a great story with some Christmas cheer, some major family drama, and a great family built on love. Leo is next and I am looking forward to see how he and Claire finally pull their heads out of the sand and grab what life is giving them.
I loved the first 3 books. Ash, Knox and Beau were all so amazing. But, Wolf has stolen my heart. A broken man who finds his little and fixes her just as much as she fixes him. You would think with the same end result of each book that they would get boring, but Kate does such a great job of making each story unique. What I love the most is that you still get so much interaction with the rest of the family. I wish I could be part of such an amazing clan! Yay Wolf & Lucy, though I'd push Lucy out the door and keep Wolf for myself if I could!
decent book!! this book is a ddy kink romance! wolf is ultra possessive! there is some age play. it was a shock to see the whole fam into the kink but i liked it. lucy was in need of someone to take care of her and wolf was waiting for his little. i loved how this was not super short. there dynamic is so hot and i haven’t read a book with this level of this before. i loved the side characters and can’t wait to read their books. there is spanking, 🍑, bob stuf. i’ve never read a book where she drinks out a sippy cup and he literally treated her like she’s 3 but i liked this. i loved the growth from both characters!! 4 stars bc this is new for me i still enjoyed it!
