Pandemonium Academy Royals #2

Of Beasts and Demons

Rate this book
Everyone now thinks I am a witch – a member of the Apollinari House. They couldn't be more wrong since I was adopted when I was little, but they don't know that and I won't squander this advantage by telling them.   The boys have decided that they need a witch to help them fight the magical surges, and what better way to slip through their defenses and find out their dirty secrets? Find them, expose them and get my revenge on behalf of my cousin who is lying in a deadly enchanted sleep back home. It shouldn't be that hard. The boys, after all, seem interested in getting to know me better. But that's because I am a witch, someone they need. Which suits me just fine. Who cares why, right? It shouldn't hurt. I shouldn't want them to want me for who I really am, to feel anything for me. That's nonsense. I'm not here to court them; I'm here to hurt them. So why is it so hard to go through with my plan? After all, since when do I care for them?   *OF BEASTS AND DEMONS is a full-length paranormal reverse harem romance, meaning the main character has more than one love interest. This is book two of four, with a happily ever after at the end of the complete series. See inside the book for TW. By book 3 there will be mm scenes. For 18+ only. This book uses alternative points of view – one boy point of view chapter for every two of the heroine.*

So, we have some serious magical Vajayjay going on here. And honestly, it just took over too much of the plot. There was nothing new or interesting in it. The same exact thing happened with each boy, such that it just felt redundant and predictable. There was nothing left to keep me interested in that department.

What’s worse, the author’s continued insistence on having the character both playing the virginal ingénue and the whore, while also insisting to herself she was still out to hurt these boys while simultaneously being nothing but kind and falling for them stopped working looooong before the author gave it up. I realize she meant the character to be conflicted. But it just felt contradictory and like an artifice.

I won’t say I was wholly uninterested. I’d like to read on to see what comes of the boys' (and I do mean boys, despite the sex, they all seem super immature) tragic backstories and the four of them coming together (which I found far more interesting than their obsession with Mia). But honestly, I’m not interested enough to buy the next book. If it popped up as an Amazon freebie or at the library, sure. But I don’t think I’d put more money into the series.

Book two of Pandemonium Academy Royals starts off right where book one ended. Mia is very conflicted with how she feels about each of the boys versus averaging her cousin. Things get a bit more heated between Mia and all the guys in this book. I like how the author is starting to reveal past events and how they are connected to one another. The cliffhanger ending left me with so many questions, like who is Mia and her birth family. I can’t wait to see where Ms. Black take the character in the next installment.

Mia has been sheltered and naíve her whole life. With no worldly experience she doesn't know who to trust.

She is bullied and beaten daily by the mean girls and her plans for revenge against Jason, Ashton, Emrys and Sindri backfires when she realizes the person who has been manipulating her all along is the very person she has been trying to avenge.

Her guys believe her to be their Queen. A powerful witch who can surprises their elemental magic and prevent them from shifting into their dormant beast but Mia still believes she's human and not a witch but the guys know otherwise.

Now her cousin is back and Mia realizes that things are not as they seem and her cousin Ophelia is not the sweet caring cousin Mia always knew her to be.

The rules of the game have changed and now Mia needs a new plan. Instead of a plan of revenge she now needs a plan of salvation.

I'm addicted to this series!

This story keeps getting better and better. Mia and the boys' relationship is tested and magical surges are becoming a problem. They become closer and started opening up (in their own way) and shocker* started helping each other. And of course, there are roadblocks, communication, and trust issues. Then, that ending made me angry. If I could slap this person, I'd definitely do it. Ugh! On to book 3. Rooting for Mia and the guys.

Thank fuck this book is over holy shit! I hate the main chick I hate reading in her pov so damn much! Emrys, Ash and Sin are the only saving grace for this series and the only reasons I'm willing to continue this torture just so I can find out what happens to my guys! I hate the writing and the pacing so much it's like reading a first draft. Like she knows where she wants certain things to happen but she didn't take the time to write better scenes or plot points so everything is so rushed and jumbled and I hate reading it so much. And Holy shit don't get me started on the marathon of fucking this main chick does in the last 85% of the book. Poorly written smut that just wasn't it. Like the author wanted to have all 4 guys in the room during it but she just couldn't figure out how to justify it so it was just sloppily written. Also HATED that the main chick would run away each time she had sex with one of the guys. Like she barely has sex with wolfboy then runs. Then Emrys finds her they fuck (I'll give points to this scene because she wrote this good but everything after it sucked especially Emrys attitude afterwards) runs off for Ash. Her and Ash fuck then she's about to run but then there's Sin and they fuck then she runs. It was exhausting and excruciating!!! HATED IT!!!! I'm just glad I didn't pay for this shit. And I will be reading the next one but tou bet your ass I won't be paying for it. Legit this is just a hate read now and my only reprieve is reading from the guys pov and they're banter.

I'm confused. This book is such a page turner. I can't control it, my emotion (probably Mia too). I love how this story takes me to another world where 4 (hot) dudes need me, I mean, need Mia. If I were Mia, I'll give up the first day I enter the school. Fortunately the main character of this story is Mia. The nerd that transform into a 'queen'? Anyway, can't wait to read the next book.

Mia ran away from home to avenge her cousin who fell into an enchanted sleep. Growing up in the Church of Angels, Mia had slept on a cot in the basement since she had been adopted at age four. Beaten and worked to the bone, she finally had the incentive she needed to leave everything behind.

But, changing her name and registering as a student at Pandemonium Academy was an eye opener and she realized her naivety at thinking she could take on these four bullies who had been named in her cousin Lia's diary.

But, she was having a hard time reconciling what was in the diary with the boys she was here to destroy.

I loved this series! Of Beasts and Demons starts immediately where book one left off. It is very well written and the characters are fully developed and relatable.

We were left with a cliffhanger at the end of Of Boys and Beasts where Mia's fake identity is discovered, but she is shocked to find out that her adopted family comes from a line of famous witches. In order to continue with her plans of vengeance, she needs to keep the information that she is adopted and not a witch from the guys she is here to destroy.

This book is action packed, full of suspense, danger and smoking hot chemistry. This book is full of twists and turns as Mia tries to avoid the real bullies and her feelings for these boys. Book one left us with a cliffhanger, but this cliffhanger puts a real twist on this story. Can't wait to see what happens next!

This book starts where Of Boys and Beasts left off, Mia being found out for scamming her way into the academy and is also being called a witch. She denies this but continues with the ruse so she can hopefully get closer to the boys and get her revenge.

I love, love, love Sin using the fae language, it adds such a nice bit of uniqueness to the story. Jason, Ash, Rys and Jax all have varying speeds at which theyre moving with Mia. There is a little bit of hot and cold going on with some of them as rifts may arise. I'm curious to see more of their backgrounds as I can only assume theyre rather dark. We do get some glimpses but I need more! I do love that Mia sticks to her guns even when tempted otherwise. Her mask may falter, but she does her best to put it back in place every time.

I'm not huge on women losing control of their bodies just because the guy is sexy, etc. This does happen in the book but it's a part of the story, being played as a touch of magic so I can let this slide.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The cliffhanger on this one is something I feel like I should have seen coming but didn't. It was such a nice twist that I am now impatiently awaiting book 3 to show its face and calm my thudding heart.

Meh

Just like book 1, the plot is interesting and keeps you wanting to know more. However, I really can't stand Mia. She's a straight up imbecile. She still has not tried to find out anything about her cousin being at the academy. You would think that if she's trying to find answers and get revenge, she would find some of Ophelia's friends or something. Do some kind of investigating. That one administrator flat out told her that there was no Ophelia at the school and Mia just ignored it. What? No curiosity as to why she was told that Ophelia never went there? I also don't get what her plan for revenge is. She wants information on the guys so she can do what with it? It just all seems like petty, childish behavior. She may have been sheltered, but she did a lot of reading. She had to have some kind of common sense and not just blind focus on a situation she didn't understand. She didn't really understand the journal, so why did she take it all literally? Why didn't she do research on any of the information in the journal?

Again, I will read the next book because I want to know what happens. I really don't care about Mia though. Her guys are ok, but she has no redeeming qualities.

This is the second book in the Pandemonium Academy Royals series and it just keeps getting better. Everything exploded in this book: the magic, mystery, romance, and revenge. This is a fantasy reverse harem and I’m here for it all. This series is addictive.

Plot: 5/5. Steam: 4/5. Language: 2.5/5.
Triggers: Bullying, Violence, Child Abuse (off page),

This book picks up where the last one left us hanging. Our plucky heroine, who has fraudulently made her way into the magic Academy, is once again saved from expulsion. She’s determined to find out what happened to put her cousin into a magical deep sleep. Her suspects - the four Heirs who rule the school. This would be so much easier if she didn’t like them..and they weren’t so attractive..and would stop flirting with her. She struggles with trusting her feelings and finding her place in this new world. Something extremely relatable to most girls.

Our guys, (Fae prince, vampire, demon, and wolf shifter) soon find they are in desperate need of the little witch’s skill when surges start to reek havoc with their magic. She’s the only one that calms the beasts within. They realize her value long before she does and start to protect and covet her. The personalities and backstories of the boys was much more detailed in this book and I loved it.

The romance between the characters was highlighted in this book. The harem aspect really solidified and was done in a way that was necessary to the plot. Excellent writing and steamy, as well.

The writing in this book is excellent. The pacing is great and I flew through it. The characters are really engaging and keep you guessing as to who you can trust. This does end on a cliffhanger, so beware. The magic and mystery remain alive. The world building is phenomenal and I am anxiously awaiting book three.

5 ⭐ I loved it. I’ll revisit it like an old friend. This book is moving right into my favorites category. I would recommend it to everyone, even people that don’t ask. I’ll one click this author’s work in the future.
4 ⭐ A great read. I’ll probably reread again when feeling nostalgic. It was enjoyable, not portable magic. I would recommend it.
3 ⭐ I liked it. It was a nice way to pass the time. I doubt I’ll reread it. I’d recommend it to someone asking for a specific genre. Thanks for the memories.
2 ⭐ I completed the Herculean task of finishing this book. At times, it felt like I was Prometheus and the suffering would never end. It just wasn’t for me but I applaud the author for their effort.
1 ⭐ I couldn’t finish this book or I wish I hadn't finished. How do I put this? It’s not me, it’s you.

“Of Beasts and Demons” picks up right where the first book ended. The boys think they unraveled all Mia’s secrets, but all of them keep on hiding things from each other. While struggling with the surges and navigating their personal connections, feelings start to grow, making all of them restless and insecure. Will Mia find a way to get her revenge? And will she still want it when the time for payback comes?

This is one of those books where I don’t entirely know what to think when I’m finished. I like the plot development, the way secrets unravel slowly and how the connections between all these characters form. It is clear there is more going on between these characters and the more we find out, the more it all starts to make sense. I just have a hard time with Mia’s naiveté. I understand she was raised in a sheltered way, so it fits with her personality, but it started to bother me more the longer I read. Still, I love the plot in this series, so I still want to continue reading the rest of this series. I just hope the revelation at the end (by the way: what a cliffhanger!) will make Mia grow up and starts to grow up to her full potential.

Oh my goodness! What in the stupidity.
Everyone in this series is so painfully stupid.
The plot moves at a snails pace, with literally nothing of note happening for the majority of the book. The writing is super basic and often fails to convey emotion and atmosphere.
All that aside, the worst part of this series is the FMC. She is the walking embodiment of too stupid to live. I mean, they are all stupid, with no more two brain cells between all of them, but man, she really takes it a whole new level.
She is so insecure that it literally makes me roll my eyes with some of the things she says. She supposedly only came for revenge, but she's always heartbroken if the guys pay attention to some other girl or act mean to her like girl...get a grip.
The mystery is so obvious, I mean, the fact that five brains can't figure it out should really tell you the intelligence levels we were working with here.
So basically, everyone is stupid, cringe, and delusional, BUT... it is a quick read, and some of the angst is entertaining, so I'll probably read the next book.

Of Beasts and Demons picks up right were Of Boys and Beasts leaves off. I’m thoroughly enjoying this world that Mona Black has created for us, and this second book in this series was even better than the first. In this book we see Mia spend more time with each of the boys and and all of them together, but for any steps forward they take, there are always things going on at the same time to move them back. Danger seems to be the one constant for all of them throughout this book. I’m loving this and hate having to wait for the next one, but love knowing it’s already been written! It’s hard to write much without spoiling the story, but in this one you get more of everything – the intrigue and danger, and much more of the steamy scenes between Mia and the guys. LOVED this!

This book picks right up where Of boys and beasts left it. The boys think they understand all Mia's secrets now but that isn't really the case. Secrets are left to unravel. If only there was communication. I like the plot and how it develops but at other times I don't understand yet. I know I'm to blame but that being said I like it isn't predictable so that is a good thing and it does make me want to read more. So Mia is a caracter that has great contradictions, I like her most of the time but I do hope the damsel in distress will drop a little bit in the next book and her not being so naive. Still a very nice book to read and I would recommend it for sure.

WOWSERS! This series is SO GOOD!
Talk about a slow burn with tension building from everywhere you look!
This is the second book in the series and picks up where Of Boys and Beasts, Book 1 finishes.

Mia is still enrolled at the Academy and her boys’ are getting more protective and possessive as the story develops. Their magical bursts are becoming more frequent and even though Mia believes she has no magic there are signs she does, especially whe faced by her Bully Acedemy students that continue to harrass her.

I LOVED this second book, it is so well written and the boys and Mia you can't help but LOVE them.
Bring on Book 3!

I wasn't expecting to be wowed but boy was I. While Mia is naive she seems to be navigating her new reality quite well. It went quickly from a medium burn to fast burn r.h. in a span of only a few chapters. The ending is abrupt and drops a bomb on Mia and the boys in a spectacular fashion. Mia's secrets are revealed as well as a bunch of other burning questions readers will have with the ending. Now it's a matter of cousin against cousin. Whose to be the victor? I'm on the edge of my seat awaiting the next book to find out.

Wow…so much drama, angst, secrets, revelations, twists, turns, things going sideways, feels, and lots of heat. Poor Mia…she is getting in deep. She doesn’t know what to believe. Everything she thought she knew is called into question especially at the end of Of Beast and Demons. So much back and forth, hot and cold, that the boys have no idea what to make of Mia and how they feel about each other. They should hate each other, right? I gotta say it all makes for a story that I can’t wait to find out what will happen in Of Demons and Witches!! Highly recommend of Beast and Demons, Pandemonium Academy Royals, and Mona Black as an author of PNR and RH stories! Happy reading 📖!

This is the second book in the Pandemonium Academy Royals series and it’s even better than the first! In this installment Mia is more determined than ever to find out what happened to her cousin to cause her enchanted sleep and the twists and turns in this story will shock you and have you questioning on who you can trust. This book has everything that you could want and is a perfect blend of romance, wonderful characters, great world building, intrigue, danger, and steam. This is one book you won’t want to miss. Oh-my-bloody-god that cliffhanger ending was a knockout!! It completely blindsided me as well as shocking the hell out of me too. A really great plot twist through. Back to this book and Mia (FMC) slowly gets more & more entangled in everything associated with the guys - Ashton, Jason, Emrys and Sindri but outside influences threaten their dynamic. The twists, turns, secrets and lies are what make this series so bloody good for me. It keeps getting better and better. Im going to be on tenterhooks wanting for next book now to see what will happen next

This installment in the 4 book series fell a little flat for me. After getting everything set up for us readers in book 1---well, I was expecting more. Instead of character development and what Mia is going to do with this prophecy laid out in front of her--well, instead there was a lot of lack luster seggy times. Yes I know it is a paranormal novel , along with the bully genre, but really RH is the only genre being represented page after page. The novel ends with a ??? so I will continue to read, so one to book 3 and hope I get 'more.'

Well this book just blew me away. This is the 2nd book in this series and from a new arthur for me, which can say it won't be my last that's for sure. No spoilers here you just have to get it and get taken on a wild ride of magic as well as twists and turns and lies you don't know who's telling truth there are so many secrets that I can't wait for the next in the series especially after that wtf ending. I'm still reeling from it.😱

This book had a really slow start, not gonna lie. They filled in from the cliffhanger at the end of the last book and then immediately things fell into like a bit of a lull. Took me a while to get through that but MAN OH MAN once I did!!!!! I won't spoil the last 1/3 of the book but SPICYYYYYYYYY <3 Can't wait for book 3.

“The story continues and the second part was even better. It started right were the first one ended up and nothing prepared me for this new one. There were still secrets and the mystery behind Mia’s cousin disappearance. She’s determinate to know the truth. Danger, mystery and ongoing questions perfectly combined with sexy/smutty times, romance and love. Lastly, prepare for that ending… I’m still not recovered!!!”

This is book 2 and was even better than the first one! Enemies to lovers with a great twist at the end. I loved how well written and full of personality the characters are. Main character multi dimensional and conflicted over her feelings for the guys. 10/10 recommend. Can’t wait for the next one to come out!.

This is why some people don’t like doctors. Things are getting worse for the boys and Mia has to take one for the team to help them. She finds out she might be getting correct information for her mission. We find out the Ashton’s family has had an impact on some of the other’s live. Plus there is a surprise appearance that shocks everyone.

Mona had me hooked with book 1, and with this one, she has me absolutely invested in these characters and their stories!!!

We pick up where we left off, Mia doesnt know how to feel about the guys, how she is supposed to get her revenge for her cousin, and she finds out some things that might change her whole plan.

The relationships with the guys get a little hotter in this one, and i am here for it!

And that cliffhanger!?!?!? I cant wait for more in this series!!!

Picks up from events in book one. Enjoyed this, Found it to be a real page turner. Good world building and there so many twists and turns it keeps you guessing which is a real plus for me as I read a lot so it’s refreshing to find a book
Which can still do that. Mia and the guys have a push/ pull relationship and the anticipation is delicious. Makes it for fab reading. There is a cliffhanger as well which has a surprising turn of events and will make you want to read book 3!!

I love this dark reverse harem where Mia is trying to go against the boys but can't seem to stay away from them at the same time. There are a lot of things happening in this book and the last part of the book is so steamy, I love it! Can't wait to get to the next book and find out what happens because this book too ends in a cliffhanger, leaving me waiting anxiously!.
