Preparing a Christmas to remember is no small feat with a family the size of the Greenes. Especially, when the woman who has always been the planner down to every minute detail falls ill, only five days before the holiday.
The family has no choice but to scramble to ensure that nothing is amiss. Cookies need to be decorated, gingerbread houses assembled and decorations to be hung. They’ll need every hand on deck, young and old to pitch in and what would a Greene holiday be if not chaotic with a dash of drama?
Piper Rayne is a USA Today Bestselling author duo. Our goal is to bring you romance stories that have "Heartwarming Humor With a Side of Sizzle" (okay...you caught us, that's our tagline). A little about us... We both have kindle’s full of one-clickable books. We're both married to husbands who drive us to drink. We're both chauffeurs to our kids. Most of all, we love hot heroes and quirky heroines that make us laugh, and we hope you do, too.
I thoroughly enjoyed getting this look back at the Greene Family...or should I say into the future since that's when it takes place. The Eldest of the Greene Children, Cade and Jed, are 49 and the youngest, Rylan, is 29 and Hank and Marla have a total of 22 grandchildren. It's just a few days before Christmas and Marla has come down with the flu that she caught from one of the grandchildren, can everyone get together and pull Christmas off as seamlessly as she does? Or will this go down as the worst Christmas ever?
I can speak from many years of experience, pulling off Christmas is not an easy job and 99% of it falls into the hands of the Matriarch of the family but when is it time to turn over the reins? I haven't reached that point yet, but it doesn't mean I am not looking forward to it. LOL
Each chapter was told from a different family members perspective so it was especially nice to be a little fly on the wall watching how they coped with everything. I personally think this was a great way to close out the Series and get us ready for the next one which is when Rylan will get his HEA. I have to say I am impatiently waiting for Rylan and Calista to get together, we have been teased about these two throughout the entire series and now they are in their twenties so yeah it's time! But I really do hope we get their backstory because like I said we've been teased a bunch of times and in different ways...especially during their teen years.
I would recommend this book to everyone that has read this series, if you haven't read the series and read this it will be filled with spoilers but as always the choice is yours.
I always enjoy The Greene Family novellas, but this one topped the cake! Besides taking place on my favorite holiday, the POV's from Marla and Ethel just broke me!! Literally all the feels.
If you are a Greene Family lover, this Christmas treat will definitely be one of your best.
When Christmas comes and Marla falls suddenly ill, it’s time for all the Greenes to pitch in and make sure everything runs smoothly for the matriarch of the family. The tricky part is, of course, to deal with all the families and their respective problems in order to get it all ready in time and just the way Marla likes it. This story is short, sassy and just the perfect way to bring closure to the older Greenes and make way for Ryan and Calista’s much anticipated story. The different POVs and that glorious glimpse at all the different families and their struggles as well as their realization of what they have are bound to give the reader a feel-good vibe and also bring a few tears around unless you are a Scrooge/Grinch type. Piper Rayne have done it again giving us another big family with amazing characters that will forever live in our hearts.
Ok first off this was for us like me who absolutely have fallen in love with The Greene's the perfect extended epiloge into the future. That we get a glimpse of what has happened to each of the couple's what is happening and what will most likely happen. And it was everything and more than I could have possibly imagined that Piper and Rayne could have done for them. It also hinted and just a tad of a future book for us. And I can't wait for it!!! It was also a perfect holiday novella for us Piper Rayne loving fools!! I mean anyone can read it really especially if they love holiday novellas!! Like if you love series and long series Piper Rayne is the absolute pro's at them!! You will never be bored and The Greene's and The Baileys are both completely done so you wouldn't be waiting on any book to come out!! I highly recommend all of these books!! 5 stars isn't enough!! This book was beautiful and emotional and perfect!!!
A Greene Family Christmas by Piper Rayne is a treat for longtime readers who wonder what their favorite characters are up to now. The entire Greene family is featured, as they work together to celebrate their favorite holiday traditions and create new ones.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Marla Greene made it her mission for years that her blended family mark the season together. But when she gets sick, all the Greenes band together to recreate the holiday the way she’d want it. This novella almost acts as an extra epilogue for all the Greene siblings and their spouses. The premise is a fun way to catch up with each member of the family, as one after the other they get to narrate a chapter in their own point of view. It’s a blast to see how everyone is doing roughly 12 years after Cam and Chevelle’s book.
But the real treat are the previews of Rylan Greene and Calista Bailey’s upcoming book. The amount of foreshadowing that’s gone into this couple over the last few years is overwhelming, and I’m here for every second of it. I can’t wait to see what’s actually gone down between these two, and what it takes for them to finally, finally get their HEA.
This fabulous holiday novella isn’t a stand alone, but it’s the perfect holiday treat for readers who love the Greene family. Now, I’m going to continue to wait and wait for Rylan and Calista’s book, which is the Bailey/Greene family crossover releasing this spring. If you love small town family romance with some steam, now’s your chance to catch up with these two huge Alaskan families before more fabulous Piper Rayne stories arrive.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
this was absolutely adorable! the greene family is ever-growing. in this novella, the kids are getting older, the parents are getting older, the grandmas are getting older. i can't wait for the next batch of books coming out. we're starting with rylan and calista first.

What a festive, nostalgic, and pitch perfect finale for the Greene crew! I just love this ensemble novellas from Piper Rayne- they are always the perfect encapsulation of the charming and tender family dynamics that I love about their stories. And after the bittersweet final novel in the Greene Family series, I was so happy to dive back into the world ONE last time. Piper Rayne treats us to a flash forward treat where we can catch up with all of our favorites, catch up with their kiddos, and get another last bash of Greene shenanigans and sweetness with a TON of Christmas spirit and traditions. This is the perfect Christmas treat and the perfect closure for this brood of loveable characters. Thankful for a few more memories during my favorite season with this family that I’ll always adore.
WOW! Although it’s always fun to catch up with favorite characters, you really need a program to keep track of them all. And I know that in the last book, we got a glimpse of Rylan sneaking Calista out of his room, it’s odd to think of them being all grown up and having sex. I guess time marches on, even in romance land, but it’s really strange to think of some of them growing up. I can’t wait for the next generation to get their series, and see what happens. I enjoyed this book and I would recommend it to everyone.
The “Greene Family” series has easily become one of my favorite series and will be a forever comfort read. I’m sad that the series is ending but this was the perfect way to wrap everything. And to leave some hints on the upcoming series.
Marla and Hank are busy setting up the family home to celebrate with all the Greene children and grandchildren. When Marla catches the flu, it’s up to the Greene children to make sure all the family traditions are going as they should.
I loved the multiple POVs of the chapters so we can catch up with all the members of the family. I have enjoyed reading all their stories over the last couple years and loved catching up with them. And the teasers for the upcoming books have me counting down the days.
I loved that Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell narrated the final book. It was the perfect way to wrap the series since they were Hank and Marla. Joe’s older Hank voice was great and I loved Maxine’s gentle voice for Marla.
The Greene Family has had a special place in my heart since the first book in this series, and spending Christmas with them was the perfect festive finale for the siblings, even if we have one more to marry off before all ten have their happily ever after. Piper Rayne has such a way of connecting you to the characters, and the novellas every few books gives you a chance to connect to each sibling, parent, and other half in a way that you don’t in the main books. It’s nice to check in on previous couples and seeing how married bliss and parenthood is treating them, and I love how realistic the family dynamics are, it’s not all sugar coated. It’s the perfect flash forward to see the couples later on in their lives, meet their children who I am hoping we will see at some point, and live in the chaos of the Greene crew one more time. I loved learning their Christmas traditions, and watching them make their own, it felt like I was coming home to visit family for the holidays. The perfect closure for this Alaskan family series, and I having read the snippets of Calista and Rylan’s book in this novella, bring on May 2023 for their story!
A Greene Family Christmas is now the book that I'll reread every year at Christmas because it was fabulous. This family is huge, quirky, and downright hilarious so when the woman who usually plans the family Christmas gets sick, the rest of the family now has to step in which provided a leveled up amount of hilarity that kept me laughing until everything hurt. There are multiple POVs, making it better (if possible) since I love getting glimpses into the life after the HEA ending for these couples I fell in love with. On top of that, there are hints to the next story coming up, and I CANNOT WAIT for it to drop. The dynamic duo of Piper Rayne is one of the best things to happen to this reader since they can turn a difficult time around to something special with their particular brand of Christmas magic! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
This novella takes place in the future and all the Greene children are settled into the lives they have created. We get to spend time with each of the siblings and their families as they face the challenges and show that the love they have as a couple, for their children and for the entire family is stronger than ever.
Marla isn’t feeling well so it is up to the children to maintain the Christmas traditions which includes a twist you didn’t see coming. We also get a glimpse of the history between Rylan and Calista which leaves us wondering what happened between them and if they can find their way back to each other.
It is always fun to spend time with the Greene family and this story is no exception. The performance of the narrators made this heartwarming story even better.
I’ve been slowly making my way through this series over the last few months when I’ve been in the mood for this type of book. Now that I’ve finished all nine books + the four novellas, I have to say that I definitely enjoyed the Bailey family more than the Greene’s. I felt much more attached to the Bailey’s by the end than I did for the Greene’s for some reason. But Piper Rayne books are all super predictable and easy to read and sometimes that’s what I need.
This final novella was a cute glimpse into the far away future for this family and a great setup for the Lake Starlight series which I accidentally read first - oops.
This is so bittersweet as A Greene Family Christmas is the last book in this amazing series that has brought me so much joy. I’ve laughed and swooned my way through all the books and with this last book we’ve moved ahead 12 years as The Greene’s prepare to celebrate Christmas.
This was the sweetest and emotional goodbye to one the most phenomenal small town romance series ever. I didn't know I need this novella so desperately, but need it desperately I did. All great things come to an end and what an ending it was. And with exciting promises for future.
A Greene Family Christmas was the conclusion to the Greene series as well as a segue to the next series.
It was written several years in the future as the Greene grandchildren were all growing up. It was a great reminder and update to the family bonds and traditions and even challenges within the large Greene family. It was definitely a “feel goods” novella and a great teaser into the final Greene, Rylan’s, upcoming story as a crossover with the beloved Bailey’s to form a new series, Lake Starlight.
It is hard to believe that this amazing series is over. I felt the same way when the Bailey series was over too. This author duo creates the most amazing characters that feel lime family. I loved having this fast forward into the lives of these characters and also setting up the merging of the Green and Bailey family.
3.5 stars. Cute, quick end to the series. Wouldn’t read by itself because literally you’ll have no context. But it’s a nice Christmas novella! Feels like a Hallmark movie for sure. Loved catching up on all of our couples and their families. Ugh they grow up so fast 🥲.
Officially done with the Greene Family series. I’m so glad I stumbled upon Piper Rayne. I’ll miss the crazy antics at the retirement center & the sweet love stories of the Greene Family.
This is such a fun novella with snippets from all our favorite characters in this series! This is not a standalone book, but a wonderful compilation for readers who are already familiar with the Greene family.
Loved that this book includes all the family members and deals with real stresses about the holidays and life in general. But mostly I loved seeing them come together to carry on all the holiday traditions while their mom/grandma was recuperating.
My favorite part was the peek into the next book that will be Rhylan and Callista’s story. Cannot wait to see how he recovers from his major screw up!!
Just what I needed when I didn't know I needed it. I missed this family so much so it was such a delight to see them again. Quick read with all the fun, a little bit of heat and more emotions than i was expecting.
This novella jumps 12 years into the future from Cam and Chevelle’s book. It is written in first person from multiple POV and wraps the Greene Family series up with a nice little bow. It also sets the stage for the new Lake Starlight series coming in 2023. This was a blast to read. I loved seeing the families our couples have formed. I adore that they have normal troubles like the rest of us. Marla and Hank are the absolute best heads of the family. I loved reading Rylan and Calista, older now. I am dying to read their love story. Grandma Ethel has a chapter that made me tear up a little. This little holiday novella has all the feels. It made me feel full while still wanting more. It was the perfect way to finish one series and begin another. I am voluntarily leaving this honest review after receiving an advance reader copy of the book.
This one is set several years in the future so a lot of changes have happened. I’m not ready to leave this family. It seems to be helping set up another series. Fingers crossed. I love holiday reads. Marla getting sick seems like a disaster. How are they going to do Christmas now?
The whole Greene family is gathered for their Christmas get-together when Mom Marla falls ill right before. Now they're scrambling, figuring out how to do everything she normally does this time of year. Will it all come together in time?
As they come together for the holiday, though, things are a brewing. There's love of course, all kinds of hotness!, and a preview of what's to come for Calista and Rylan, whose story I have been waiting very impatiently for. This short is the perfect way to cap off the Greene Family saga, and each character has her or his unique way of expressing themselves. If you want the perfect holiday read sprinkled with fun and snark, amazing characters (2 of whose POVs are THE BEST!) and lots of Greene love, then you absolutely have to read this story.

I love getting these Greene family novellas, but A Greene Family Christmas surpassed any and all expectations I may have had.
Within a few pages, I thought my heart would burst. Having the opportunity to visit with a fictional family you’ve fallen in love with is not only that; it's knowing that when you reach the end, your heart will feel lighter than it did when you began.
A few words, and I was right back in Sunrise Bay, surrounded by this family that makes you feel like you’re a part of it. It’s the unwavering support and love they have for one another that stays with you long after you reach the end. But in this story, it was much more than that.
If I were to sum up this story in a single word, it would be "love." The love of two people whose love blended two families into one The couples we all had front-row seats to when they found love The love a parent has for their children, whether biological, step, or adopted—not only that, but there is no distinction between the three. The love between siblings The love of grandparents You get the idea. The Greene family has always had love in spades, but this novella is brimming at the seams.
I cried, not in a sad way, but because of the way this family loves one another. It’s something we all want, and while we may have one element or another, not many are lucky enough to have the love that permeates the pages of every Greene Family novel.
I liked how the different points of view were balanced so that you could get updates on the entire Greene family without feeling overwhelmed. Let’s face it, there are a lot of members of the Greene family, and they can be a lot; just ask those who married into it. It’s witty and steamy, with siblings pushing one another and even a meddling member of the Greene family.
A Greene Family Christmas is everything I love about the Greene family wrapped in an unputdownable Christmas bow. The Christmas present is full of love, a nod to Christmases past, and a glimpse of Christmases to come. A heartwarming novella brimming with love, laughter, and steam.
The only thing that these compilation Greene family books do is make me want more Greene stories! Piper Rayne, you bring me such joy with these, but leave me so thirsty for more... it's a real issue!
This fast-forwarded into the future of the Greene family book was something else... I can't believe Cade and Jed are pushing 50... but I absolutely love the behind-the-scenes glimpse at all of the characters and their dynamics, while - honestly - seeing the "real life stuff" that they're dealing with: having teenagers, car sex at 50, ailing parents.. real life stuff. It makes the story, the characters, and what they're doing so much more relatable. And of course - but of course - the way that Piper and Rayne write is always so endearing, funny, sexy and sweet that we're riveted and engaged from the first word on the first page - but I found that these real world things that the characters are doing and facing that it quite frankly humanized them all the more.
That said, I'll just paint this with a broad stroke before I hone in two specific things about this book. The writing is fantastic. I love the entire story. I love the different character perspectives. I love these Greene family holiday / vacay books. Yes, yes, this is all a given. NOW! Two things, I'll start at the end: Grandma Greene... I flipping love that lady! She's not scared - she'll tell you how it is, and I love her for it! I love her chapter, and how she wraps it all up... She is amazing! And it is just ... perfection.
Secondly, FINALLY - FINALLY!!!!! We get more than just fleeting snapshots at Rylan and Calista! Their story is really the one we've all been salivating for since... a long time ago! It's the story we didn't even know we wanted! But in this Greene family x-mas book... I have so many questions. Rylan obviously screwed up here - amiright or amiright? Anyone else feeling some Clara and Xavier vibes? Regardless, this book left me wanting just more - more - and more! I love the Greene family so much more, I could read them all day long. But now I NEED Rylan and Calista's story - and Piper and Rayne, make it a biiiiiiig story. Lots of words, lots of details, lots of pages... and then would you bring us the next generation of Greenes? Yes, yes, please do. That is on top of my Christmas list! So until Rylan and Calista's story comes out, I'll just be over here - impatiently tapping my nails on the desk... I'll wait for it... but know I am all over that once it hits my Kindle!!! Did I tell you how much I love the Greenes? Did I tell you how much I enjoyed this book and that it just makes me want more? 10 stars for this one!
Das Chaos scheint also vorprogrammiert.
A Greene Family Christmas is basically the warm, cinnamon-scented, small-town holiday hug I didn’t know I needed. 4 stars, sweet, nostalgic, and the perfect bonus treat for anyone who’s already fallen for this family.
This novella is all about bringing the Greenes (and their significant others) back together for Christmas in Sunrise Bay. Naturally, that means meddling, chaos, and more than a few moments that made me laugh out loud. You’ve got everyone under one roof, half of them trying to one-up each other with gifts and games, and the other half trying (and failing) to keep the peace. Classic Greene family energy.
I loved catching up with all the couples we’ve spent the series watching fall in love, seeing how their relationships have settled in, watching them tease each other, and getting those little glimpses of who they’ve become together. It feels like an extended epilogue in the best way, and it’s exactly the kind of cozy read I crave this time of year.
There isn’t much plot, this is more about vibes than anything else, but honestly, that’s the point. It’s pure fan service, and I was absolutely here for it.
If I’m being a tiny bit picky, I’d have loved just a little more focus on a specific couple or one big emotional arc, but as a festive check-in, it totally worked.
If you’re into: ✨ Big family holidays full of meddling and love ✨ Small-town Alaska at its most charming ✨ Swoony moments from all your favorite couples ✨ Low-angst, feel-good stories to read with a cup of cocoa
Then A Greene Family Christmas is exactly the treat you deserve.
4 stars, warm, funny, and the perfect little gift for readers who can’t get enough of this family. Sunrise Bay never disappoints.
