I read this text with a group, and I was grateful for the opportunities it invited for us to put those ideas into practice.
I’m not convinced there was enough content to drive the writing of an entire book; some of the metaphors felt pretty strained, and there was quite a lot of overlap from chapter to chapter. However, if you’re looking for a book that will energize you or your staff to spread reading joy, this is the book.

It illustrates why simply teaching a student how to read without teaching them to enjoy reading is truly teaching them nothing at all.
