The scope of this book is vastit offers as complete an explanation of lifes true purpose, and theway to achieve that purpose, as may be found anywhere. A few of the chapters include The TruePurpose of Life On Meditation How to Pray Effectively The Law of Karma The Lesson ofReincarnation and Ways in Which God Can Be Worshiped. Filled with lessons and stories thatYogananda shared only with his closest disciples, this volume offers one of the most insightfuland engaging glimpses into the life and lessons of a great sage. Much of the material presentedhere is not available anywhere else.
Kriyananda (born James Donald Walters; May 19, 1926, Azuga – April 21, 2013, Assisi) was a direct disciple of the yogi Paramahansa Yogananda, and the founder of the Ananda, a worldwide movement of spiritual intentional communities based on Yogananda's World Brotherhood Colonies ideal. Yogananda made Walters a minister for his organization, Self-Realization Fellowship (SRF).
This book - to me - was a continuation of 'Autobiography of a Yogi' with Paramahansa Yogananda's views about religion, spirituality, philosophy, human & divine condition, etc. further elaborated one topic-per-chapter. I enjoy and appreciate Paramahansa Yogananda's writings and want to read more of his writings/teachings and have found that he has established the infrastructure for any future spiritual aspirants to learn directly from 'him' through home-study materials. My friends in the US can subscribe to these lessons at http://www.yogananda-srf.org/PY_SRF_L... while my friends in India can do the same at https://www.yssofindia.org/meditation...
An exceptional book. I bow my head at the lotus feet of Paramhansa Yogananda ji and I’m grateful to Swami Kriyananda ji for noting the Master’s words and compiling them into this book.
A short book containing a wide variety of Yoganandas quotes, sayings, wisdoms and practical advice. While it can can lack a red thread, it covers a wast assortment of subjects. This book connects the Hindu and yoga philosophy and practice in a very nice way. Wish I had read this sooner. A good read!
