Five men form a bond over their mutual business opportunities and the trials of finding real love in a world of greed.
After Jake discovered his last girlfriend was in it only for his money, he has given up on dating, tired of being used. It's hard to find the right woman for him when everyone knows who he is and what's in his bank account. At poker night with his friends, they come up with a plan. They will all use the new blind date service offered in town where everything is done through an app and dinner dates are done in the dark with only minimal lighting to see if the pair hit things off. Each man gets to pick a person for the others to blind date, with just a few rules.
Lauren doesn't like rich men. Almost all the ones she's known seem to think that women should bow down to them since they have money. She's over it and would like to find a respectable man to date that doesn't have loads in the bank. Someone who, like her, just wants to live comfortably, not lavishly. She also hates being thrust into the media. When her boss's sister begs her to go on a blind date, she reluctantly agrees, thinking she will just get it over with to stop her from asking again.
Lauren and Jake hit things off immediately. How will Lauren react when she finds out who Jake is? How will Jake react when he finds out he's dating his friend's assistant?
I am an author, an engineer, a wife, and a mother to four kids!
We live in Virginia with our three dogs where we work and stay busy with kid's activities. I enjoy writing and am also an avid reader of both contemporary and historical romance.
Writing is my passion, something that I love to do and always have. My journey to author wasn't straightforward but I am so glad I made it here and I get to share with everyone the stories that I love.
English is not my native language, but I could even detect many grammatical and syntax errors. It definitely needed a great editing. Even the heroine’s name was incorrectly mentioned as Elizabeth instead of Lauren.
While the premise looked interesting, the characters’ development was insufficient and their backgrounds as well.
The story was cute but skin deep. The side characters that participated did assist the plot to move forward yet they were so many compared to the specific length of this story, it felt loaded.
Jake is the first book in the Billionaire Blind Dates Series. This was my first time reading any of this author’s work and it certainly won’t be the last. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading the others in this series. This book takes blind dates to a whole new level. First you fill out a huge questionnaire on the app, then you get to meet your match in a blind date – at the blind date restaurant, totally in the dark! Yep, you share a meal with the person but you can’t actually see them. Jake and his 4 billionaire friends decide that this is the way that each of them should try to find their significant other, each will pick dates for the others and it’s Jake’s turn to go first. I really loved Jake and Lauren’s story. They already know each other as Lauren is the PA of one of the 5 guys – Cade. They have no idea of this though and totally hit it off. It’s very much an opposites attract story. Jake is a billionaire who is tired of women who only want him for his money. Lauren is living paycheck to paycheck and is worried that Jake will think she’s after his money but it makes no difference to her at all. She’d still like him if he was penniless. I really enjoyed the camaraderie between the 5 billionaires and can’t wait to see what the author has in store for the other 4 guys.
I was introduced to Toni’s work when reading Out of Time and I enjoyed her writing.
Jake is the first book in the Billionaire Blind Dates series. Toni has given a different spin on the usual Billionaire tropes. A novel idea of having to rely on other senses getting to know someone makes this one interesting read.
Jake wants someone to want him for him not how many 0.00’s he has. Lauren has lumped all rich men in the same category and money isn’t everything.
A blind date might just be what changes ideas, wants and misconceptions in this steamy romantic adventure. It is easy for the pages to keep turning and keeping you intrigued wanting to know how it all turns out I enjoyed the easy banter between the friendships of the male characters. You will definitely enjoy it.
I look forward to reading about the other four friends in their own books.
Jake is disillusioned with dating when, once more, he finds out his girlfriend is only after money. No one likes being used. But being such a well-known public figure, he can’t find anyone willing to date him for the man he is and not what he can give to them.
When a new “blind dating” service is recommended by his poker buddies, where the arrangement is made through an app and the dinner dates occur in a dark room, it sounds like this might accomplish what Jake wants. It makes the date truly a test of how the couple gets along without any other distractions to ruin things.
Lauren decides to also try the dating service when her boss’ sister suggests a blind date. She doesn't enjoy being with rich men who have their own expectations about how a woman should be grateful for their attention. She is satisfied with a moderate income to allow comfort and not ostentation. She doesn’t want or need their money. When she is partnered with Jake, they immediately enjoy each other’s company. But how will she react when she ultimately discovers he is not only wealthy, but he draws media attention she abhors? And to make matters even worse, she is his friend's assistant!
This is just a straight forward story about a billionaire looking for someone who isn't after his money and loves him for who he is. There are no twists or turns, so for me it was rather boring. It is a cute story and I did read the entire book.
This was a feel good story that was sweet and romantic. Lauren and Jake had a cute love story proving to both be down to earth individuals with a lot to learn from each other. The way they meet and connect gives new meaning to chemistry. It’s a truly great story and I enjoyed reading it.
I really liked this book. It was well written and a quick read. Jake and his friends agreed to select a blind date from an app for each other. Jake is the first to be set up. The typical girls they have dated are always after their money or status. The App is suppose to be a way for them to meet someone on literally a true blind date. I really loved the concept of the app as it is definitely unique. Lauren's friend who is rich wants to set her up using the same app. The biggest issues Lauren has with her friend setting her up is that she doesn't want someone who has money. Who she ends up on the blind date with is the last person she expected. I can't wait to read the next installment.
Not bad but not great either. Characters were ok. I felt something was off in the writing. The words didn't flow smoothly. The book seemed like it was maybe written for a much younger reader, except for the sexual parts. A disappointing read. Won't try this author again.
Toni Denise has written a 5-star book. This is the story about Lauren and Jake. Jake is hosting the weekly poker game for his friends and Cade tells him that he heard that he broke up with Celia. Jake wants to know how he found out so quickly. Cade tells him from his sister Catherine. Evan was there and asked him about going on blind dates. At first, Jake tells him no. After Evan tells him the first date was done in the dark, Jake agreed to go on 4 dates and after that, they were to leave him alone if he didn't connect with anyone. The first date didn't go well at all. Lauren was running late because of her roommate and when she calls Catherine to let her know she is on her way, Catherine talks her into moving in with her. Lauren works for Catherine's brother Cade and he is good friends with Jake. Unknown to Lauren, Catherine and Cade decides to set her up with Jake. On their first date, things don't start out so well but it gets better. Jake wants to see her again but she is not sure about things. Lauren has a thing about rich people and them thinking she is out to get their money. Lauren and Jake talk to each other each day, or they are texting. Catherine has talked Lauren into going to a party that Cade is having and she knows that Jake is going to be there. Cade is having trouble with his father and has arranged for Jake to come to the office one day and this is when Lauren and he find out that they had been set up for the blind date. At first, Lauren is a little upset since Jake is rich and she doesn't want people to think she is with him just for his money. Jake tells her that he doesn't think like that and his friends all know her and don't think that either. Jake takes Lauren out to dinner and the paparazzi are there and take their picture and print a story about Jake. Lauren's mother sees it and calls her. Lauren's mother wants money from jake and this causes Lauren to get mad. Lauren has the call on speaker and Jake tells her mother that it is not going to happen. After she gets off the phone, Jake tells her that they need to get ahead of her mother with the news of them being together. Jake calls the guys and Lauren calls Catherine and they work out a press release. Will things work out for Lauren and Jake? This was a wonderful book and I would recommend it to anyone.

Jake (Billionaire Blind Dates Book 1) by Toni Denise - Review by Jessica Stone
This novel is the first in a mafia series about a group of highly privileged and devastatingly handsome men, your typical mafia romance, with an interesting twist.
Jake is tired of women who see him as a billionaire and only wanting him for what he can do for them, so after being persuaded by his friends he joins a new app for blind dating, the twist? It's actually "blind dating". The women he meets will only get to know him by the sound of his voice and the connect they can hopefully form without all the money and good looks involved. But Jake only agrees too four dates and if he doesn't find a true connection on those dates, he might just swear off love and relationships forever.
Lauren a strong willed independent woman, is looking for ANYTHING but a relationship, or someone to take care of her. But after a series of unfortunate events Lauren is badgered into giving the dating world another try by her new roommate, it's a literal shot in the dark. The last thing she expected is finding a connecting so strong with someone she's just met. The only problem for Lauren, is the man at the end of that connection is exactly what she fears.
Will Lauren let her fear of wealthy men, and stolen independence cloud her judgement and guide her away from a shot at true love? And will Jake let go of the past and embrace a future after the heartbreak he's endured?
Terrific book, loved the "blind dating spin"! It's pretty relatable as a strong independent woman myself to put myself in Lauren's shoes and see where her hesitancy comes from. On the flip side I have been in a position that I would akin to jakes and sometimes it's hard to convince yourself that people can be good and different.
The author wrote this book well, the characters are totally lovable, I laughed, I cried, I yelled in frustration, all and all definitely exceeded what I wanted to get out of this read. Cannot wait to follow the stories of the other billionaire baddies featured in this novel!
Jake, Billionaire Blind Dates Series, Toni Denise, Review, Itsy Bitsy Book Bits, Contemporary Romance, Romance, Jessica Stone, September 2022
This book was a pretty simple storyline but told in a way that made me want to keep reading. It was interesting to consider the literal "blind" date idea. Jake and his billionaire friends are loyal friends, always supporting one another, and always egging each other on. The whole group is incredibly likeable and familial. Lauren was kind of a lone wolf until she met them, but once Catherine befriended her, she became part of the fold.
Jake is tired of gold diggers pursuing him and just wants someone he can relax and enjoy their company - WITHOUT being after his money. That's why he decided to take a chance when his friends introduced him to the idea of the new blind date restaurant - and each friend choosing 1 person to go on a date with him. After the first one turned out to be exactly what he DIDN'T like, he wasn't keen on going on any more - but he agreed to one from each friend, so he was going to go for it. Little did any of them know, Catherine had manipulated the system a bit and got HER choice - Lauren - set up for his second date.
After hitting it off, Jake is excited to pursue knowing his mystery date better, but Lauren is nervous. It's been a very long time since she dated, and having watched her mothers relationships as she grew up, she wants to be careful to be sure there's a connection before coming out of the dark. Before long, they inadvertantly discover who their blind date was, and the book progresses from there. It's a sweet romance and they're both a bit surprised to find how well suited they are for one another when they discover their date.
Quick, sweet read with a lot of nice relationship building in the background. There's a touch of drama here and there, but it's very straightforward with the plotline. Enjoyed it a lot.

After ending another relationship when he realized that the woman was only after his money, Jake is unsure of how he will ever find a good woman. When his group of friends encourage him to try a new blind date app, he is hesitant at first. However, they talk him into it...and even decide they will each pick a woman for him to go on a date with. After the first one is a disaster...he's not even sure he wants to go on the second one. But, when he does, there is a spark. An impromptu meeting with one of his best friends reveals who the mystery woman is. He wants to see where things will go...so why does she seem so disappointed?
Lauren enjoys being an independent woman who pays her own way in the world. After a series of events (including a horrible roommate) ends with her becoming roommates with her boss's sister...Lauren finds herself being talked into trying a new blind date app. She goes on the date but is still hesitant...until she finds out (by accident) who the mystery man is. She has a hangup with being labeled a gold-digger...and it is something that plagues her every decision. Can she let go and just live in the moment? Or will her fear stop her from exploring what could be her happily ever after?
I enjoyed this story. Both Jake and Lauren were great characters....who am I kidding?...all the characters in the book are great (minus everyone's parents!). Lauren's insecurities and hangups were felt coming off the pages...and I loved that Jake was able to quiet those fears over time. I'm sure I will be checking out the next book because I am now invested in this group of friends!!
This is the first book in the Billionaires Blind Date Series. This is a story about finding love in someone you never expected to find. I love the author's twist on the blind date thing where the characters have to use their senses other than sight to connect with another person. I like this idea because you can really fall for the person and not the way they look.
Jake is a very wealthy man. He has women throwing themselves at him but most of them are just after his money. After his past failed relationship he's about ready to give up on finding a woman who wants him for the person he is and not the money in his bank.
Lauren has a dislike for rich men. Everyone that she knows think that women should be grateful for their time and attention and Lauren hates that. All she wants is nice respectable man.
So when Jake and Lauren get thrown into a blind date party in the dark neither of them know who they are connecting with but the connection is definately there.
When all is revealed Lauren is concerned that people will think she's with Jake for his money and no matter how much Jake reassures her that he knows that's not the case it puts strain between them. Added pressure comes when Lauren's mother wants Jake to give her money. What happens next is a whirlwind story as Jake and Lauren try to protect their growing relationship while silencing the doubters that want to see them fail. Can they get through all this additional pressure? Will Lauren always feel like people are doubting her reason for being with Jake?
What happens when you let your friend’s pick a blind date for you? After all, finding your own dates hasn’t worked well because as soon as people know who you are or see your name they see dollar signs. Jake, a self made billionaire, is simply looking for love. He is tired of every woman he meets to only want him for his money and what his position can do for them. So when a deal turns serious Jake must let each of his friend’s pick a blind date for him. All first dates take place at a blind date restaurant where you cannot see the person you’re on a date with and you only get limited information at introduction.
Likewise, Lauren is just looking for a man who likes to live comfortably. Not the rich guys she is surrounded by working for her billionaire boss. Her friend Catherine pressures her into going on a blind date of Catherine’s choosing. When Lauren relents and allows Catherine her attempt at matchmaker, she is thrust into a blind date where you can’t see who you’re on a date with. What happens when you mix two people who are completely opposite of what they want or their normal type? What happens when the lights come on and you realize your blind date was a closer acquaintance than you realized?
While I did enjoy this book I thought Lauren was a bit whiny about the financial issue. While I understand she doesn’t want to be seen as a gold digger like her mom it got irritating at her questioning everything. Though if you get past that it was a good book that if you like romance novels with sexy billionaires you should definitely read it.
After reading the blurb I had to pick this book up. The idea of a dating app and then an actual blind date in the dark is such a great idea. Just think how much this could help people get to know one another and grow without it just being about physical attraction, wealth, or status.
This is the first book in the Billionaire Blind Dates Series by Toni Denise. In this book we meet a group of best-friend billionaires that want to help their friend Jake find romance, because his latest relationship turned out to be another gold digger situation. So what better way to meet someone than on an anonymous app where you can talk and later meet in a dark restaurant so your identity, financial status, and even looks are hidden? This is how Jake meets Lauren.
Lauren, a secretary to a CEO, gets convinced by her friend Catherine to try this Blind Date experience. Though hesitant, she finally agrees to the blind date experience with one main condition: that the person she matches with has a similar financial status as her, because she has seen how her mom dated wealthy men and was deemed a gold digger. Will it matter when Lauren finds out she is actually dating a billionaire, or will the amazing chemistry these two share be enough to overcome?
I really loved seeing how these well written characters seemed so real that I became invested in their story. This is a fun, fast read that flows really well and I can't wait to see which member of the friend group is up next to find love.
Dating is not easy in general. Imagine being a billionaire looking for actual love that isn't out for your money. Imagine taking a detailed questionnaire to set up a profile for a dating application where you don't get to see the other person and must rely on the algorithm to pair you with another. Then a date where you cannot see your date. This concept was well written in this story. I couldn't put the book down.
You want someone to love you for you, but you are a well known billionaire. This is a dilemma facing Jake. Women just want him for his money and could care less about the man behind the money. His friends talk him into a new way to date that would help eliminate the money chasers, blind dating. You have the option to talk prior to the date or leave it to full chance when meeting at the restaurant in the dark where you dine with your date.
Lauren wants a significant other that is well off, but not at the extravagant level of her billionaire boss. Catherine, her friend, convinces her to let her choose a blind date for her. A night of chatting in the dark with a stranger. A date unlike any other with a man that she enjoys talking with though not enough to give him her identity just yet. Intrigued, she agrees to continue getting to know one another through messaging.
How will the two get along when their identities become known? Did the new blind dating work?
Don't wait. Pick up the book and find out for yourself.
When friends make deals over a weekly poker game, what could possibly go wrong? That is what you will be asking yourself during the beginning of this book. The twists and turns that this book takes you on aren't brought on by suspense or mystery but are more emotional than anything else. What happens when the leading female swears she will not date anyone who has money but her friend has another idea. When the leading male starts to let his friends know that he just hasn't had any luck dating, his friends suggest he go on 4 blind dates and they all come to the agreement that if all his dates go horribly wrong they will let him be. However what both leads don't know is that their fiends have set them up together and their first date doesn't go smashingly well at first they do seem to have a connection. What happens when they find out they were set up by their friends? What happens when she learns he has money? What happens when she discovers that not only does he have money but he also draws attention from the media? This book is really well written and was very easy to read. I felt like the characters are completely relatable. I can't wait to read the upcoming books in this series to see what happens with this friend group. If you have never read a book where you just feel like the characters are your besties, this one will do that for you.
An enjoyable and engaging contemporary romance, with an intriguing twist on the usual blind date theme. Jake is one of five men who have mutual business opportunities, and who want to find real love in a world where everyone knows who they are, and what’s in their bank account. Jake decides to use a new blind date service after his last girlfriend only wanted him for his money. Everything is done through an app, and dinner dates are done in the dark, to see if the couple get on or not without actually seeing each other. Meanwhile, Lauren ends up going on a blind date when her boss’s sister begs her to go, and she reluctantly agrees. However, her and Jake get on really well and have a great date, there’s only one problem and that is that Lauren doesn't like rich men! She’s had bad experiences before, when men expected her to bow down to them just because they have money, and she hates being thrust into the media. It turns out that how Lauren will react when she discovers who Jake is, will not be the couples only problem, as it then turns out that Lauren is one of Jake’s friends assistant. I liked both Jake and Lauren and felt engaged with them, and their chemistry came across in the narrative. This was a page turner with great characters, and enough drama along with the romance, that I was kept hooked until the last page. I look forward to book two in this new series.
After growing tired of dating the same kind of women, Jake’s friends suggest this new dating app/restaurant. It is called Blind Dates. Daters are matched through the app, where if they want to, they can start chatting. Then a date is held at the Blind Dates restaurant. The thing is that while at dinner, you can’t see the other person. The entire date is held in the dark. The participants then can either agree to continue communicating via the app or meet in person. Jake agrees to this arrangement with his friends picking his dates. Jake’s first date is disastrous. The second date is very promising.
Lauren is working as an executive assistant to a major CEO of a corporation. This is just a temporary position as she works toward her goals. Lauren gets talked into the Blind Date app/dinner by her friend and roommate. Lauren finds her match intriguing but is not quite ready to meet him face to face after their first date. Lauren accidentally discovers who her match is when they send messages to each other while in the same room.
Lauren and Jake, a beautiful match. Lauren battles perceptions and her past while Jake fights for her.
I find myself enjoying the premise of the series. Friends setting up friends on blind dates. The dating in the dark concept sounds great. Count me in for the rest of the series. Fun and enjoyable!
This book is the first of the Billionaire Blind Dates series where Jake meets Lauren under the most unexpected circumstances. Jake is a charismatic businessman that does not have anything to wish for, but on the romantic side of his life the shallow encounters with women that only see in him money to be spent has reached his limits. Aware of the predicament presented, Jake relies on his best friends to look for an answer. Lauren is an assistant with a handful of perks, a mean roommate and a non-existent relationship with her mother, which makes her wonder how much harder life can get. She sees herself as a woman with potential to achieve whatever she puts her mind to, even when life has not given her all in silver plate. Both guided by the curiosity presented by their respective friends go to an exclusive restaurant called The Blind Date, where you must be in the dark with no information or contact of the date in front of you. This concept allows the subjects to create a genuine connection with the opposite side without the distraction of physical appearance, but at the same time the lack of visual aids such as body language and expression represent a challenge in the search of significant love. Will the unique personalities of the characters be compatible? Will the social conventions surrounding them make them fall apart?
This was a really good romance. A touch of rags to riches, a dash of prideful came up on her own heroine, and just a bit of alpha male. A group of playboy billionaires are disillusioned and over the playboy lifestyle. However, finding a woman who wants them for more than their money and fame isn’t easy. Enter a true blind date company! A dating app, no picture, and the date is chosen via algorithm, or in Jake’s case, by his friends. They can chat or not before, but then they meet at the restaurant where they enter from separate entrances and it’s too dark to see each other. Thus, getting to know each other without knowing who the other is. Lauren is a secretary to a CEO in a top company. Her friend Catherine convinces her, after some trouble with a roommate to move in with her, and then to give this Blind Date thing a try. She agrees on the condition that they are close to her in finances as she doesn’t ever want to seem like her mother, a “Gold Digger”. My only real issue with this book was that there was never any real conflict for the couple. I wasn’t looking for a tragedy or anything, but what was in there felt like inconveniences more than anything and that the first time they as a couple are truly tested it will fall apart. I’d say it’s a little to fairy tale-esque, but fairy tales have tragedy and conflict. Other than this, it was a really great story!
This is book one in The Billionaire Blind Date series and it is Jake and Lauren's story and what a great start to a new series and author to me. When Jake finds out that his girlfriend is only with him for his money it leaves him angry and disappointed so when he meets up with his friend's they discussed the situation and came up with a solution of a blind date where you meet up in the dark with minimal lighting to see if you get on with each other but will it work. Lauren has had enough of rich men who think that you should be lucky to be with them because they have money and all she wants is a normal man to love her for who she is so when she is asked to go on a blind date she gives in and even though she is not looking forward to it hopefully it will get everyone off her back about dating. When Jake and Lauren meet there is a great connection between them and they get on so well but what will happen when everything is revealed. Will Jake and Lauren carry on seeing each other and get the happy ending that they both deserve well you will just have to read this book to find out. I absolutely loved this book and it was a real page turner that kept your attention and I can't wait to read the next book in this series.
I loved Jake! I can’t wait to read the rest of the books in this series. It’s such a fun concept. A dating app/restaurant, but in this particular case their friends are setting them up on the blind dates. Jake isn’t having any luck in love and relationships. All the women who want him, only want his money and status. They don’t want to know who he really is. Until one night a poker game among friends changes things. They convince him to join this dating app to go on blind dates. The blind dates are in a restaurant attached to the app, that’s in complete darkness. Lauren is a mess. A horrible roommate that makes her late for work and wants her out. Cade and Catherine are the angels she never knew she needed. Lauren is Cade’s secretary and Catherine is his sister but also does company PR. Catherine convinces Lauren to let her set her up on the blind date app. Little does Lauren know, she knows the person that she was set up with. This book is Lauren and Jake’s story and how they navigate the app, plus their differences in social status. Having different types of obstacles along the way, the author keeps you intrigued. Keeps you rooting for them throughout. The beginning of a sweet and entertaining series. Bring on Book 2!
Jake is having issues finding a woman interested in him instead of his money and social status. He accepts his friends setting him up on four blind dates through a new restaurant his friend, Evan, was investing in. The new place was made for blind dates, where the room was dark, and the patrons were unable to see each other. Meanwhile, Lauren is looking for a new place to live since she was living with a toxic roommate. Her best friend, Catherine, keeps offering her a place to stay. The only problem Lauren has is Catherine is the sister of her boss, Cade. Cade dismisses the idea and even pays for her move. Jake has gone on his first blind date. He couldn’t get away from the woman fast enough. He decides he will text the next blind date throughout the week to learn more about her. Catherine begs Lauren to go on a blind date, stating she knows the perfect person. Lauren finally relents. At the blind date restaurant, Lauren finds herself at ease with the stranger on the other side of the screen. He asks her if they could continue the date outside the restaurant, but Lauren declines. However, she agrees to continue messaging him to get to know him better. Could Lauren let her walls down and meet her mystery date? Can Jake find someone who didn’t care about his money?
This is the first book I've read by the author. It won't be my last. The book had me hooked from the beginning. I didn't want it to end and I will be looking forward to the next book. Jake is the first book in the Billionaire Blind Dates Series.
Jake is a billionaire and is proud of it. What he's not proud of is the women thinking they can demand an engagement shortly after they start dating. His friends want him to go on a blind date. How will he feel once he finds he's dating his friend Cade's assistant. The quote I chose for Jake is: “What would happen the moment she sees my name? She’d look me up and we’d be right where I am now. No difference, just more hoops to jump through.”
Lauren doesn't like billionaires and won't date them. She's also having problems with her roommate. When her friend Catherine offers, once again, for her to move in she takes it. It's not long before Catherine talks her into going on a blind date. There she'll meet Jake and fall for him. What happens when she finds that he's a billionaire? The quote I chose for Lauren is:“I’m game. Let me grab some things for overnight then, so I can at least brush my teeth.”
Highly recommended for Contemporary Romance lovers.
So Jake and his mates get together for a round of poker and now that he’s free again they’re all keen to set him up but he’s a little nervous , he wants someone who sees him for Jake the man and not his purse strings ……
Lauren has a thing against rich men , she doesn’t like that see woman as an “accessory “ she feels that because they’re so wealthy they can dictate and while it’s true in some instances I feel it’s an unfair “judgment” but she her reasons …
So Jake and Lauren seem to hit it off but there’s a slight twist in the tale … Lauren’s friend Catherine has a brother Cade and she works for him but get this he’s Jakes’s friend so you can imagine their surprise when Jake visits Cade and puzzle pieces start fitting together …. I had a chuckle but I was also nervous as to Lauren’s reaction but it turns out I had no worries that is until Lauren’s mum pulls a nasty move , girl this is your daughter back off ! I was mad 😡 but these 2 ride this challenge as well …..they’ve got their cheerleaders 😍
Such a fun read actually and it was so easy to love these characters and cheer them on in their journey of love and happiness ❣️
This book is book one of the series. I’ve never read anything by this author but I enjoyed this book.
Jake hasn’t had any luck with dating. Which is understandable when everyone knows who Jake is and how much money he has. It’s hard to know who is just using you for what you can do for them. During poker night, Jake’s friends talk him into not giving up and instead they are all going to use a blind date service but they can’t pick their own dates. Jake doesn’t really want to but figures he has nothing to lose. Lauren just wants to find a nice, respectful man to share a life with. She’s got a painful past and rich men who think they own the world are kind of a trigger for her. After some convincing from her bosses (who happens to be Jake’s friend Cade) sister, Catherine she decides to give blind dates a try, even if just to get her off her back. Neither Lauren or Jake expected these dates to ho anywhere but they click. What will happen when Jake and Lauren learn more about the other?
I really enjoyed this book. I liked the premise and the characters were easy to like. It was well written and I can’t wait to read the next book.
I have been a fan of this author for quite some time now. I really enjoyed this new series, the story was full of realistic moments, characters you cheered for, and moments that made your heart tender
I loved the story how it had its ability to be sweet more than once throughout the story Jake was a great guy. He had a heart of gold, who just wanted to find the person who would complete him. His heart made him who he was and I really admired that. I related to Lauren a lot. She had walls, for reasons she felt were justified. I loved her and Jake together, they had so much chemistry, and to me they were meant for one another. Sometimes fate has plans. such as their blind date. I love as usual, the author's writing style and how the book weaves with the story! I enjoyed it very much! Loved it!
The story was amazing and heartfelt. I could not put it down. I can't wait to read more in the series! This book alone is a must read for sure, and with no doubt, a high recommendation from this reader!
