I really enjoyed this novella! I bought 3 of them at Comic-Con and this is the first one I read.

You can tell that some of the characters have spin-off books because you don't get a lot of information about them (which is a bit sad, but it makes sense that in a 75-page book, they're not going to devote a ton of time to a character who has their own book). I still liked it though!

I loved how the story could be told in so few pages. And I ADORED the formatting of the book. Being a smaller-than-normal size book allows for experimentation in formatting that I loved. I enjoyed how the author divided some paragraphs onto their own page for emphasis, and even some pages were black with white writing. It made the reading experience more immersive and it helped tell the story easier without having to add more descriptions to tell the difference for you.

I wish it were a little longer because I would have wanted more background on Fern and all that happened there. I do enjoy the book at the current length, and the story is told well, but I wish there was more. I found the ending was a bit lacking in detail .

The detail about not adding descriptions was amazing! I know it is not everyone's thing, but I subconsciously gave the characters appearances and had a lot of fun with it! I like that everyone can have their own headcanons about how the characters look, adding as much diversity as they wish, and all these depictions will be equally as correct. It allows for us to put as much of ourselves into the books as we wish. I loved that mechanic a lot and respect the decision immensely.

Overall, this was a cute little novella about a bunch of gay knights and I really liked it!! Can't wait to read the next one!
