Have we met? No? Well it's time to end that tragedy.
I'm a former firefighter/EMS guy who's picked up the proverbial pen and started writing bad boy romance stories. I co-write with my sister, Ali Parker, but live in Texas with my wife, my two little boys, my daughter, two dogs, three cats, and a turtle.
Yep. A turtle. You read that right. Don't be jealous.
You're going to find Billionaires, Bad Boys, Military Guys and loads of sexiness.
Something for everyone, hopefully. I'd love to connect with you. Check out the links below and come find me.
Another great book by this sister/brother duo! They brings a fantastic story with strong, likable characters and deliver an entertaining story filled with a fun banter, a steamy chemistry and a bit of drama along with the romance. It's well written, moves fluidly and is a terrific read. Loved it and highly recommend reading!
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
“Bad Boy Bachelor Summer” is the newest addition to the ‘Bad Boy Bachelor’ series by Ali Parker and Weston Parker. Once again, they’ve given us excellent characters in an entertaining story that will bring the heat of the summer to your fingertips no matter when you read it.
Andy is a woman who has her life together … or so she thinks. When two huge life changes devastate her and leave her questioning everything about her life and her future, she retreats to her family’s summer cabin seeking peace. Her attempt at therapeutic self-care seems like it’s working. Then her brother, his longtime girlfriend, and her brother’s best friend, Rick, show up at the cabin. She had a huge crush on Rick when she was a teenager, and now that her self-esteem is a mess, that lingering crush makes her feel incredibly awkward. Rick is an extremely successful real estate developer. He grew up as practically part of his best friend’s family and is certain that everyone will welcome the luxury housing project that he thinks will revitalize the small town where the summer cabin is located. Before he tells them about it, he starts to realize that it’s not something they welcome at all. Rick also realizes that the teenage crush he had on his best friend’s little sister is alive and well, and he’s more captivated by her than ever. From every angle, his situation is a mess and for one of the few times in his life, Rick doesn’t know what to do. So, he doesn’t do anything except enjoy himself, waiting for the right time to come along to deal with things. The problem is that problems don’t just magically go away, and sometimes the ‘right time’ is a myth. When everything blows up in his face, the damage caused seems insurmountable.
Compelling characters and authentic emotions immediately pulled me into this story. Even when different characters made terrible decisions, I absolutely understand the reasoning or motivation behind each one. The story is well-paced and kept me turning pages, anxious to see what would happen next. The major and minor secondary characters added depth and dimension to the story. (Sending a special shout out to Mabel!) There are some unexpected twists and turns, and I thought the ending was excellent.
Bad Boy Bachelor Summer ( ad Boy Bachelors, book 4) by Ali Parker and Weston Parker Narration by Victoria Connelly
This was a fun, refreshing story. Andy Sommers has been let down and stomped on by her long time boyfriend who dumps her and then she’s let go at work on the same day! Licking her wounds and hoping to get clarity she goes to the family cottage. Where her brother Brody shows up with his girlfriend Sasha but they also bring along Brody’s best friend Rick O’Malley. There’s been attraction between Andy and Rick since they were teenagers but in secret. When they end up in the shower at the same time, the banter and attraction has them both steamed up and the story begins to heat up! But Rick has an agenda that may be opposite to his friends and we get all sorts of emotions and reactions when Andy and Rick’s more than friends situation comes to light.
This was a really fun filled banter experience between friends but also pulls in other characters who mesh the feelings and bring the book to life.
The authors were new to me as well as the narrator in this book. And I had a great time listening to it. Victoria Connelly does all of the characters with ease and emotions that shine through her performance. And I loved the escape her acting provided in this banter filled audiobook.
Loved this book. Almost made me want to love the heat, water and sunshine, but quite. I am still a cool, sweater weather kinda gal.
Loved the connection between Rick and Andy. She always had a crush on Rick as he is her older brother's best friend and has been around the family for years. She is a strong woman but is at a point in her life that she really needs things to be shaken up.
Rick is from a wealthy family and has also done very well for himself. He has been around Andy's family for years and looks at them as his second, sometimes first family. They are polar opposite to his family. He would never do anything to hurt them.
When Andy sees Rick for the first time in many years, those feelings for him come back and how. Rick sees Andy and realizes that she is still the one he is meant to be with.
But he is up at their cottage not just for a break from work, but because he owns some land that he wants to develop. But how does he tell his second family this without hurting them?
Andy is at the cottage to help her gather her thoughts and figure out what she is going to do about her career going forward.
Love the fun of this book. Love the supporting characters. It was a great book and you will love it too.
5 stars I received a free copy of the steamy New York set novel Bad Boy Bachelor Summer: A Bad Boy Bachelors Novel: Book 4: Andy and Rick by Weston Parker and Ali Parker, and this review was given freely. Vivid descriptions set the mood of this summertime smalltown lakeside cabin-themed story containing steamy moments, sibling rivalry, teenage love realized, a close-knit circle of family and friends, and a workaholic conditioned billionaire whose secrecy and scheming end in financial losses but emotional gains. Contains a few twists, realistic characters who are frequently physically demonstrative, and the heartwarming preservation of one of the simpler times in life. Devastated when she is suddenly dumped by her long-term boyfriend and fired from The Everyday Woman magazine, journalist Andy Sommers takes her mother’s advice to take a summer break in their family cabin in the quaint small town of Felicity Cove, the site of her brother’s best friend, Silicon Valley’s millionaire real-estate mogul Rick O’Malley’s revitalization project that includes 75 luxury lake homes.
I would give this 10 stars if I could. I loved this story of O’Malley and Sommers .. or as they’re also known.. Rick and Andy, who have known each other since childhood. Rick was her brothers best friend, spent much of his youth with her family since his parents were rich, distant and uninvolved in their sons life. He’d always had his eye on Andy, but y’all know the old adage of don’t covet your best friends little sister! Well, you find out soon that they both have had a thing for each other all that time, even tho Rick has lived on the west coast and is a very successful man. This book takes place several years later when he’s back to do a job that does not make him a popular man in town. This takes the whole gang back to the lake and lake house where a lot of their summers were spent. This book draws you from page one. I couldn’t read fast enough to see what develops next. . You want their relationship to succeed! I received this ARC, give it a ton of stars and highly recommend it as a great summer read.
What do you do when your life is falling apart and taking your self esteem with it??? Retreat to the summer cabin and pull your big girl panties up...or fall in love with the crush of your youth. Rick is meeting up with his best friend at the summer cabin with intentions of checking on his new big project of revitalizing the lakefront. Reconnecting with his best friends sister isn't something he expected and old feelings resurface. One night turns into something they can't fight but the guilt of keeping secrets is wearing on them both...but Rick has a bigger secret. One thing about secrets is they always surface. Betrayal, loss of trust and losing the one you love will brings twists of fate to not only Andy and Rick but to everyone involved. Walking away hurts like hell but is there anything Rick can do to get back the other piece of his heart?? Great characters, best friends sister, no cliffhanger with his/her POV...absolutely page turning, hang onto your seat Must Read!!! I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. Looking forward to the next Ali and Weston story!!!
Andy has loved Rick ever since she was a teenager (possibly before). Rick has had a crush on Andy ever since High School. So what's the problem. Well, Rick is Andy's brother's best friend. Oh and there is that little secret he has now - he owns all of the property around their summer retreat on Lake Michigan.
The two of them can't stop their attraction despite everything. It's not until Andy's brother finds out they have been having a secret tryst, that things go downhill. Andy finds out about Rick's real estate scheme (it is a scheme - let's get real). She can't forgive him for ruining their quiet life on the lake with more tourists and way too much construction.
Love means you forgive people, even if they do silly things. That includes Andy's brother. He really had to swallow his pride to let Rick back into the family fold.
Andy and Rick have known each other almost their whole lives, and there’s been a pull between them for nearly as long. His best friend’s little sister. Her big brother’s best friend. Their relationship is as illicit as it is inevitable. I’m going to start with the ending on this book, because that was one of the sweetest things. Probably the sweetest thing I’ve read since the ending of the last Parker book in my library. And it’s particularly lovely considering the mess the pair of them make of everything before we get them to the magical words, “The End”. I felt their story to be largely about all the things we do to protect ourselves that end up hurting us in the long run. I really enjoyed watching both Andy and Rick learn these lessons and come out stronger, better people. I loved this group of characters, and I don’t want to let them go now that the book is over. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author.
I thoroughly enjoyed this story! When Andy's life is turned upside down (boyfriend dumps her, she loses her job...) she decides to spend her summer at her family's cottage in northern Michigan, to lick her wounds, regroup and figure out what's next. Eventually her tranquility is interrupted (in more ways than one) when her brother, his girlfriend and, surprise surprise, his best friend Rick join her....all taking a break from their own work rat race. Andy has had a crush on Rick since they were teenagers and he's in town, from the west coast, for business. As they spend more time together, its clear there are sparks and interest from both Andy and Rick and its fun as they navigate this new potential relationship. It has great banter, some plots twists, some drama and as a born and raised Michigander, I also appreciate the love shown for our great state. The descriptions were fantastic. A great read that will not disappoint and you will not want to put down.
BAD BOY BACHELOR SUMMER A Bad Boy Bachelors Novel by Ali & Weston Parker This is a fun lighthearted entertaining summer read. Andy Sommers and Rick O'Malley have known each other since they were children. He is the best friend of her older brother. She has had a crush on him since she was very young, as he spent all his time with her family. He had noticed her too. When Andy's boyfriend breaks up with her the same time her employer fires her, she decides to go to the family cabin on the lake for the summer to reset. When Rick has been working nonstop without time off, Brody invites him to come to the cabin with him and his girlfriend to spend some much needed downtime. Ali Parker and Weston Parker are a sister and brother team that create book magic when they team up. This enjoyable story is chock full of steam, angst, and lots of fun in the sun on the lake. It is also captivating, intriguing, these characters are so likeable and the story is heartwarming. This is 5 stars.
This story really touched my heart. Rick and Andy have known each other since childhood, and he is her brother's best friend. Andy has just experienced the worst news ever when her fiance decided that he was moving to another country and didn't want Andy to come along devastating her. She decides to go to the family's cabin to rejuvenate but unwanted guest by way of her brother, his girl and Rick arrive. What they don't know is that Rick is harboring a secret that will upset everyone because he has bought up all the surrounding land to build high end housing. When his relationship takes off with Andy, he is plagued with how to tell them about what he has done. Will he still be a part of the family when the truth comes out and will he and Andy be able to get past this? Andy and Rick had me in their corner cheering them on to getting their chance for happiness! I am volunteering to leave a review for an ARC of this book.
Rick and Andy have known each other for what seems like forever, well at least since grade school because Rick and her older brother are best friends. But life has moved on and it's been years since they were all together.
Andy is trying to recover from two big hits, losing her job and a breakup with her boyfriend, she decides to visit the cabin on the lake thinking it will be the perfect spot to regroup. Only to have her brother and Rick arrive for a vacation, Rick also wants to look at land his company plans on buying.
Thrown together in the confines of the cabin and the setting old feelings and lies are resurrected, the chemistry and atmosphere between them are palpable but will they be able to get past old hurts and damaged feelings? Will they work things out and forgive past hurts? You'll need to read this one for yourself to find out because I'm not saying.
I love when Ali and Weston join together to write books, and this one is no exception. We get Rick and Andy as the highlight of this romance, they have known eachother since childhood, both had crushes on eachother, but he is her brothers best friend, so neither acted on it. Now in the present, Andy is at a major crossroads in her life, and spending the summer at her family's cabin. He owns the company that has bought land near the cabin for high end cabins. What happens when their relationship takes off, and then his secret comes out. Can the two of them withstand the turbulace that comes with this, will his lifelong frienship last with her brother? The rollercoaster ride to the ending is fabulous.
I received an ARC copy from the author and freely give my review
Oh my goodness this was just great! We have Rick, he's coming back home and decides to spend time with his best friend at the family's cabin for the summer. I enjoyed getting to see the different sides to him. The almost brother like connection he had with Brody, the closeness to that entire family and seeing bits of the business side as well. It's a friendship between Brody's sister Andy and Rick that really get the sparks flying. Andy's life was turned upside down and I loved how she picked herself up and is determined to get things on track...after some time for herself. The story is fun, sweet, shows that little bit of emotion to pull me in to their story and kept me turning pages. Loved the connection between them, the ups and downs and that great heat!
I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
I am voluntarily leaving this review. This was such a great book! I couldn’t put it down. This was a billionaire, brother’s best friend love story. The characters were great, the banter, chemistry, drama/conflict was perfect.
I loved how both Andy and Rick had crushes on each other for years, but never acted on it. I loved that when Andy’s life was falling apart, Rick was right there to guide her and help her to find her true self, but not take away from her independence and make her look or seem like a door mat. They were both strong and independent, but knew when to let the other lead and when to lead themselves.
I love all the books that Ali and Weston Parker write. I can’t wait to see what else they have coming to us!
Be warned that once you start reading Laila and is story you won't be able to put it down. She was his best friends little sister and off limits. They all grew up together and spent a lot of time at her families lake house. What wonderful memories and he can't get over how gorgeous she has become. They didn't know that he bought all the surrounding land and had big plans for it. What happens when they find out? Does a summer fling turn into more? This was a great story with wonderful characters and an engaging story line. The chemistry between Laila and Storm was off the charts. Another great read from his amazing author duo. I read an advance reader copy and voluntarily chose to review it.
As the newest entry in the Bad Boy Collection, BAD BOY BACHELOR SUMMER is a wonderful distraction as Andy and Rick find themselves at the summer cabin they spent many childhood hours at, with Andy brother (Rick’s best friend) and his girlfriend.
It is a story where keeping secrets until “the right time” predictably comes to bite someone in the rear. The romance between Andy and Rick has been simmering since their teen years do it is no surprise after that the slow burn ignites with all sorts of consequences.
It is a book in a relaxing outdoor setting that makes the reader want to be there. It is a nice break summer story.
I read an advanced copy of this book I received from the authors. This is my voluntary review.
Loved the narration of Victoria Connolly, she brings out the humour, heat, chemistry and characters to life. Perfect.
Andy is having a very bad week, her boyfriend dumps her in a restaurant, then loses her all that week. So she decides to visit to the family cabin, believing it will be the perfect spot to regroup. Only to have her brother and his best friend Rick arrive for a vacation, Rick is there to look at land his company plans on buying, and build on.
With the confines of the cabin old feelings and lies are resurrected. The chemistry between them is off the charts. But will old and some new hurts stop them, letting the past go.
Ali and Weston show us a little of the workings of the modeling world in this book, the good, bad and the ugly. Storm inherited his father's company, well actually his great- grandfather started it, his grandfather built it into what it is now and his father just sat there and did nothing really with it. Storm wants to make his own mark so he buys a lingerie modeling company, forgetting his ex models for them. The Board is worried Storm wi be distracted by the models because of his playboy reputation. They want a dedicated CEO running the company.i really enjoyed reading this book. It's a standalone, easy read HEA
Andy and Rick have grown up together and discover that they have feelings for each other. They know each other better than anyone else. They have grown up and went their separate ways but by chance they both end up back at the lake where they spent their summers. Soon the discover that their feelings never went away and give into those. Though the many ups and downs they find love. This is a great summer read especially if you like a forbidden romance.
I receive an advance copy of this book to give my honest review.
Such an awesome book. Love is in the air. Andy, just fired from her job, spends the summer at her family cabin with her brother, his girlfriend, and to her surprise, Rick O’Malley. The man she has had a crush on since she was a teenager. They are all grown up and Andy cannot keep her eyes off the muscled, handsome, generous, loving Rick. The summer is absolutely perfect until secrets are revealed and everyone’s attitude is anger, resentment and betrayal. So much action and drama. Rick thinks he can never make things right, but he’s willing to give it a try. So many feelings, good and bad, and you think nothing will ever lineup, but it does absolutely magnificently. A great, great book.
This is a brilliant brothers best friend read. After her boyfriend breaks up with her and then she loses her job she decides that she needs to reset and goes to the family cabin. When her brother and his girlfriend turn up after a couple of weeks she is pleased to see them but wasn't expecting his best friend Rick to be with them. The chemistry between them is off the charts but will they give in to it. I loved how they were together but he is keeping a big secret from her and her family. So much drama and plenty of emotion but can they get their HEA. A must read with a great ending. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
Andy Sommers and Rick O'Malley have known each other forever, since Rick is Andy's older brother Brody's best friend. They have both been secretly crushing on one another since at least high school but have never acted on their feelings. When Andy receives some heartbreaking news, she gathers her things and heads to her family lake house for the summer. She is surprised with the arrival of Rick, Brody and Brody's girlfriend Sasha. As Andy and Rick spend time together, the spark between them ignites into something more. But what happens when Andy discovers the real reason why Rick is at the cabin? And will Andy be able to get past this?
Andy has gone to her family’s cabin after a major life blow wanting to be alone to have time to recoup but her brother arrives along with his girlfriend and his best friend Rick. Rick and Andy have known each other forever and have had this connection since the beginning. Now that they are all together Nick and Andy start to act on the old feelings. How will this turn out because she should be off limits because he is her brother’s best friend. What secrets is Rick keeping? Wonderful way to start a summer series. As always, the Parker’s bring their A game and this book is one you will want to read. I received an arc copy of this book and I am freely leaving my honest review.
This was a good read... apart from the brother of the MMC and his girlfriend (God, I was so confused about them, they were so weird). Also, the fact that both of them were pining for each other since long was not believable, I just couldn't feel it. Maybe if we had alternating timelines where we got to know how they started feeling like that about each other would have really helped connect with the characters better. I am also personally not a fan of "Because she is my bestfriend's sister" excuse for keeping away or not making a move and the third act could have been stronger and different for me.
I love when two people that have grown up together can fall I love because they usually have a special bond. They can see the real you because they’ve been there for it all. The good, bad, and ugly. This story is just that. While Rick really tests both his friendship with his best friend and his budding relationship you still want to pull for them. Just like any person out there we all make mistakes but it takes a bigger person to forgive. This is the true meaning of loving someone. A great read for the beach! I truly enjoyed it. -ARC
Andy is going through a difficult time in her so she heads back to the cabin that holds so many happy memories only to find out that she won’t be there alone when Rick, her brother’s best friend, as well as her brother and his girlfriend will be there as well.
Rick has his reasons for being there and it isn’t just to spend time with his best friend. As he and Andy spend time together the feelings that he and Andy have refused to acknowledge rise to the surface but will the secret he holds destroy what he and Andy have been building
Andy, a writer at a lifestyle magazine, had just lost her “perfect” life before her brother mentions Rick, a real estate investor and her brother’s best friend, on a phone call a few days after her life imploded. As the story progresses a retreat is taken, rules are forsaken, and telling the truth nay leave their relationship shaken. Ali Parker and Weston Parker started off summer with a bang in Bad Boy Bachelor Summer. These characters quickly sneak into the reader’s heart and find a home there as the book goes along. I can only imagine what bad boy bachelor they are planning to launch next.
I received a free copy of the book from the author. I had the opportunity to review or not.
Interesting taboo romance older brother’s best friend. Both are facing own work dilemmas and decisions. While at the family cabin by the lake with older brother and his gf. Several lol moneys and relatable feelings. I love the quiet lake community and the outdoor descriptions of nature. My brain was able to quiet with the peace and tranquillity. *I was given a copy and am voluntarily giving my honest review.
