A tower with seven distinct realms. A barbarian and a spellbook. The chance of sudden death at every turn.
Randy and Clovis barely survived the first realm, and they're going to have to get their act together if they hope to make it through the second.
Each floor presents a new fantasy world and a new obstacle to overcome, from taming a dragon to partnering with other ascendants to fight off hordes of elven undead. Yet the core of what Randy and Clovis must do remains: level up, multi-class, better understand Genera's mechanics, and successfully complete each floor.
As they gain levels, and the plot thickens into a nice roux, Randy continues to chip away at a strategy going forward for their guild, one that will keep them alive long enough to reach the top of the tower. Clovis has become more manageable, but that doesn't mean that the slightly misguided spellbook doesn't venture off the beaten path from time to time, leaving Randy to improvise.
It's going to take a combination of skill and luck if they hope to survive.

'Two idiots. A tale as old as time.' That's our Randy the barbarian aka Angel Farts, and Clovis the spellbook, as proclaimed by Lily, the AI. Couldn't have put it better myself.
This has everything I enjoy reading:
*big breath*
- Brilliant humour and banter making you do that horrible snorting noise and embarrassing yourself; - zombies (yes, zombies!); - action-packed and a page-turner (you'll zoom through it, honest); - lots of adventure and cunning; - more twists and turns than that long twisty road in San Francisco; - a shockingly mutilated hamster beanie *sob*; - having to team up with people you'd rather not have anything to do with; - Clovis' teenage innocent flirting with a vampire and also a faun (classic!); - training and fighting a dragon (yes, a dragon!); - a different realm with each floor, and this one is T H E D R A G O L Y M P I C S ! Here. We. Go!
Fantastic writing and world building. Can't wait for book three.
It was okay. Easier to read than the first (Really took a while to get into the "in your face" writing style. Supporting characters provide the right kind of relief. Did try to start the 3rd but couldn't bring myself to continue.
I wasn’t expecting the second book to be this good. The author kept the pace of the previous book and was able to keep the story moving forward without sacrificing any of the action. Most of the books in this genre tend to be full of internal monologues that slow down the story, but T&T2 really kept that to a minimum. My favorite part of this story was that our protagonists actually progressed in a way that makes sense. The first book was about how confused they were in the world and who they were as players/participants. This book was more about them growing into their roles and moving through the realms. Looking forward to the next book!
As an author you want your second book to surpass your first: more imaginative, more ambitious. Harmon Cooper achieves all that in spades. Just a tiny hint of a subplot in this RPG fantasy book: the characters are turned into blobs of slime and must bounce around absorbing people and objects to please an online audience. Their survival depends upon the number of likes they get.
On top of it all, his characters are growing up. The magic spellbook character, Clovis Smith is getting smarter. The main character, scifi/fantasy writer Randy (the noun, not the adjective) is getting more grown up and mature.
This book was great, it made me laugh so much that the neighbours thought I was having some type of episode!! The characters are good, and there isn’t a dull moment throughout the book.
The fact that Randy named himself Angelfarts just cracks me up as we’ve all done that funny name tag at least once, or for me it’s a daily challenge!!! And the Leeroy Jenkins part was a blast from the past for sure.
Daniel and Rebecca provided an absolutely brilliant narration and I can’t wait to listen to future tales from Randy and Clovis.
It's another crazy LitRPG ride from Cooper as we see Clovis get muscles and a few faces join in. I wasn't sure how this series could get more outrageous in It's comic acts ,or how we could see even more zanier levels but this book raises the limits and the readers chuckles to the tower tops.
Love Harmon Cooper and love Tokens and Towers! another great installment to the series - some super fun and interesting new characters including my favorite Hamry Savage OH YEAHHHHHHH!!! My only regret is that I didn’t sink all my savings into Harmon tokens! I also love the numerous LitRPG inside jokes. If you like the genre you will love this book
Loving this whole series. The sheer randomness of Clovis... Aerie is such a babe... some remarkable twists... and the return of some old friends from the first book.
As always... you really need to get this book on Audio as well... there is a part that'll make you shout Ooooo Yeah!
Randy and Clovis continue to keep me entertained with crazy stunts gamer quips and lots of movie one liners. Overall it was a lot of fun to read and I look forward to seeing what happens next.
I am really loving this series so far. It would make a great TV show if they could get the budget for the special effects and to cast Ryan Reynolds as Randy.
This series continues to make me laugh every page of the way. It is absolutely hilarious. I look forward to the next Tokens and Towers when it does come out.
