My Bossy Billionaire

Rate this book
I dared to challenge my billionaire boss.
A mistake. A very big mistake.

Marshall Lane broke into my existence and flung me from the small restaurant kitchen into the chic office on top of a skyscraper.
And he did all of this just to teach me a lesson.

Such is the power of a billionaire with a chiseled body under an impeccable suit...
...and not even ten years of age difference nor his cold demeanor can keep me away.

Until he reveals that he was using me all along.

I don't care if it is a cruel joke or a "just business" situation.
I just don't understand why I have to choose between the man and the job.

Mr. Lane makes the choice very easy by being the worst boss ever.
But he is also the one pulling the money strings.

But maybe the way to the ultimate prize...
...is to lose.

No cheating, no cliffhangers. HEA guaranteed! Can be read as a standalone.

Everything was going very well until “If you don’t agree to my terms, I will fire everyone in this room.”

Oh, so billionaires are immune from sexual harassment and coercion by blackmailing an employee into doing what you want? #metoo

I was really liking this book until then. That one sentence ruined the entire story.

5 ⭐️s= Perfect story, exciting, engrossing, well developed complex characters, solid plot with few to no holes, descriptive environments and place settings, great mystery elements, realistic dialogue, believable reactions and behaviors, loved this story so much I’d buy it.

4 ⭐️s= Great story, highly entertaining and enjoyable, exciting storyline, well developed characters and settings, a few discrepancies but nothing that can’t be overlooked. Believable actions and reactions, realistic dialogue, a book I would consider buying.

3 ⭐️s= Good but not great story, noticeable discrepancies, grammatical and or spelling errors, undeveloped characters or unbelievable behaviors but still readable. Nothing majorly wrong with the story, just not interesting enough for me to continue. Would not buy the book.

2 ⭐️s= Not offended by the story, but not interested enough to finish. Unbelievable characters, poor writing, many mistakes, big holes or discrepancies, many spelling or grammatical errors, characters not believable, unlikeable or TSTL.

1 ⭐️= Offensive, extremely poor writing, horrible characters, victimization, gaslighting, blatant abuse, unnecessary violence, child endangerment, or any other highly objectionable behaviors by Main characters. Would never buy this book, and do not recommend it to anyone.

Ive given this two stars but mostly because I hate giving 1 star reviews as authors put a lot of work into their books and I feel that in itself deserves two stars.

The book itself is not great. I feel like the characters lack any kind of chemistry and the plot at times makes no sense. Even if you wanted to run a business into the ground no one would allow someone who has literally no work experience to suddenly become a CEO of a company, no employee of that company would follow that CEO or listen to a word they said. If you can get over that ludicrousness then you may have a chance with this book.

The steamy scenes were OK but there was no build up, she basically gave in straight away. Also, she forgave him so unbelievablely easily based on the fact he "called the investors". The man used you as a pawn to fall flat on your face woman, have some self respect.

Just not for me, too many things to overlook that I just spent the whole time going "wtf how what why wtf"

This is the story of Jennifer and Marshall. The on and off again with these two will make you wonder if they are going to get together or not. They seem to be on until Marshall does something that makes Jennifer upset and she tells him they are over. Marshall gave Jennifer a company to get up to standards but when she tries to talk to him about her ideas, he tells her that the company is being shut down. She talks him into giving her more time and when she and her co-workers come up with a plan, they find out that the money Marshall said the company could have is not there. She goes to have it out with Marshall. He tells her that she did her best but it was just business.
Will Jennifer and Marshall work things out between them?
This was a wonderful book and I would recommend it to anyone.

The main characters in this story are billionaire business owner Marshall Lane and dishwasher Jenny (Jennifer). She is working hard and waiting to see if she will be accepted into business school, but it’s a bit of a long shot. She has reservations about the wealthy layabouts who will be accepted to such a course rather than her, especially with what happened to her father’s business after his death. She has been overworked at her restaurant job and walks in late after pulling a double already, to find the dishwashing machine broken and loads left from the previous shift for her to clean up! When their overbearing boss, Dill, comes in to complain that a customer wasn’t happy with a water spot on their glass. She isn’t in the mood and storms out to speak to the customer, but picks a table of business men in error. After a bit of back and forth, she challenged him to do her job and had to pay out when she lost the dare! She quits her job, but he has her under his thumb and she has to play along, or as the new owner of the restaurant, he could cause all her friends that work there, to lose their jobs. He would do it, just to teach her a lesson!
He offers her the chance to be the CEO of a tech start up and is supposed to be her mentor, but he only accepts payment from her in their sexual connection. Believing he is getting the best of the deal, without needing to get involved in a real relationship, as that is not something he wants at all. He gives her a complete makeover for the role he has selected for her, but he hasn’t told her that he is actually setting her up to fail and she has no chance of succeeding in making the business a success. She can’t help her attraction to Marshall, which helps when they have their steamy get togethers, but he is still bossy and privileged as she presumed form the start. He actually had a working background and worked his way up to the place he is now in. His own issue with a start up at the start of his career, has left him with a very cut throat attitude to business and how he deals with any companies that he takes over! Their age difference doesn’t seem to matter in their interactions, with Jenny being one of the only people who will argue with him and not settle for the easy route to success.
When the truth of the outcome for the business she is working hard to make a success, is finally revealed by Marshall, she is utterly shocked. He expects them to be able to continue their relationship as is and maybe even become a proper relationship since she will no longer need to be working for him. Shame he didn’t understand how much Jenny wants the business to succeed and how hard she will work to make it so. She won’t chose between having a relationship with Marshall or making the best of her new role. He doesn’t realise that she would gladly lose a relationship with him, to make the start up a success, no matter how hard that might be for her. He may now have actual feelings for her, but his decisions in business are not something she will stand for. He hasn’t ever had to face his decisions in such a way before and she is making him decide what he is willing to lose, if he wants to win as he expected! To gain her ultimate prize of a successful start up, she is willing to lose. Now you just have to wait and see who will win out in the end and who will be the losers! A steamy read with an older businessman acting as a mentor to a younger woman, who needs a break to get into her dream sort of job. An interesting read, with lots of ups and downs and some definite power play struggles between boss and mentee, with a very steamy series of get togethers. I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.

Fate has the last say in most things especially situations like this a man born with a silver spoon and a girl from the wrong side of the tracks. where Marshall typical grumpy billionaire who treats other’s lower than him as such eating out in a restaurant when a glass arrives with spots causing an issue with the dishwasher who happens to be using her hands not a machine. Jennifer’s life hasn’t been easy working as a dishwasher in a restaurant with a boss who doesn’t care for his employee only after the dollar, he makes so she is washing all the dishes by hand and when a complaint comes through about spots on a glass she takes it upon herself to go and speak with the customer complaining not realizing she is dealing with a man who has enough money to move mountains if he wanted. Immediately he is drawn to her someone who dares talk to him in that manner but rather than getting upset he accepts her bet of doing manual labor washing the dishes to be specific in five mins or under and of course she lost but not only did she lose she went to the wrong table to begin with, so it was on her. He wants her time as payment for winning the bet and she is sure to set him straight about it being just her time nothing more or so she thinks. The chemistry is there from the start but both of them being too stubborn to admit it, the magnetic pull is strong on the date he takes her on feeding her and then feeding her if you know what I mean and then he offers her a job upping the ante and changing her live all together showing her a different way to live and after being announced as the owner of the very restaurant she worked at, and the changes that would come for her friends but also a threat if she quit like she planned he would fire all her friends the control he assumed was getting her upset but being the stubborn soul that she is allowing him to win well if it meant her friends would have a better life then so be it he won….but when he decides to do a make over for her, giving her an office and allowing her to put her dream of being a businesswomen to work well yep he was still winning but will it continue on this path, she has learned no matter how much fun they are having with the banter what happened to her father is always at the fore front of her mind and usually when something/someone seems to be to good usually they are so she waiting for the other shoe to drop so to speak but will he prove her wrong about billionaires, will she give him an honest chance and can they have a lifetime of bets and happiness?.

A Bet Gone Right

I loved the hilarious mixup that starts this book and the intrigue that kept me reading.

Jennifer is overworked, stressed thanks to a broken down dishwasher, and at her limit when she tosses a challenge at a man she thinks is just another "rich" guy.

Marshall is a sexy, bossy, rich guy who seems to love a good challenge. He doubles down by making a bet.

The rest is scintillating romantic ride that had me riveted to the page.

I liked the combination of page-turning sizzle, business advice during sexy times, and a mystery about who exactly is teaching whom. Jennifer seemed to need to make up her mind. Her emotional journey due to past trauma is a key part of their relationship. I loved reading how Jennifer copes all along the way.

At times, I thought Marshall was both friend and enemy. He gives her a shot at what she wants, but is he sincere or is it just business in the end?

While it took awhile, the bet and the various twists and turns in the love between these two kept me rolling on the floor with laughter or enjoying the sizzling intimate scenes.

Will Jennifer manage to truly figure out what (or who) she wants in the end? Is Marshall a friend or enemy? Is his proposal really giving Jennifer her best shot or is it just cold-hearted business dealings in the end?

I recommend this for a good read with excellent secondary characters, pacing, romance, and the unexpected.

Jenny is a dishwasher at a restaurant and the dishwasher broke so everything has to be done by hand. When a customer complains about getting a spot on a glass Jenny goes out into the dining room and goes off on a rich looking guy. She inadvertently bets him that he hasn't done a day's work in his life. Marshall is the new owner of the restaurant, and he takes her bet. However, is he wins its his choice what he gets. He ends up showing Jenny that he can do the job and they leave together. After she gets cleaned up he takes her out to eat and its not long before things heat up between them. The next day he gives her a complete make over and hands over the CEO spot on a company he is investing in. Jenny takes up the chance to do the job and is excited about it. Yet doesn't realize that Marshall already has plans for that company and whatever she does won't matter. Will his deception call things off between them? Can she get him to see things differently?

This is an amazing story that once I started it I couldn't put it down. This is a well written and very entertaining story. This is a book for any book lover.

This author is a new-to-me-author, but I really enjoyed this book. This is an age-gap romance, which includes attraction, lust, hard working characters, deception, and eventually true love.
The main characters first meet at the restaurant where Jennifer is the dishwasher. She confronts Marshall with insults, and he results in proving her words are wrong.
Marshall is a Billionaire, and he is somewhat of a cold hearted businessman. What he wants, he gets, and he sets his sites on getting Jennifer. He runs a tight business, and is planning to overtake a business that is loosing money. His plan is to put Jennifer as CEO of this company, and then blame her for the loss of this company.
Jennifer is in desperate need of money, and works two jobs to make ends meet. Frustrated with her job, she accepts the offer that Marshall has placed in front of her. There is a strong attraction between them, and they begin to have a hidden relationship.
Jennifer works hard to help get the small business to succeed, but learns that it was just a setup, guaranteed to lose. She breaks up with Marshall, but both continue to miss each other. Finally she develops a plan to help the small business, and is successful. Marshall is proud of her, and they reunite, and finally obtain their HEA.

Jennifer works as a dishwasher at a restaurant. Her boss is a smarmy so and so. Marshall is a billionaire and just happens to be at the table where a complaint was made about a spotty glass. Meanwhile the dishwasher is broken and Jennifer is doing it all by hand. She goes to the table and has a go at the men. Marshall takes up a challenge. Oops. She lost. Now what does this billionaire want for her to pay the bet. What?? Wow. A very hot night with a gorgeous billionaire. A new restaurant owner. Quit. Threats. A makeover. A challenge. Game on. A challenging business to control. Employee problems. Make it succeed. A troublesome billionaire. A mentor with demands. A plan of destruction. An idea. Superheroes. Betrayal. A great idea to prevent closing. Help. A speech. A very successful speech. What a terrific story and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

An enjoyable steamy novel 4.5*
The protagonists of this story are Jenny and Marshall. One is impoverished with an eye for better things to come, like an education and a good job, the other a handsome, rather ruthless, entitled billionaire. Guess which is which. Yes, there will be sparks flying due to the chemistry and each other's intriguing personality holds the others' attention and fascination. Jenny is offered an opportunity, that she should have realised was too good to be true. From dishwasher to CEO, well how realistic is that? This book was a well-written, interesting and entertaining one which made it difficult to put down. I am happy to recommend it to others, as I'm sure I'm not the only one to have enjoyed it.

I enjoyed this one about two opposites who are just perfect for each other, she's hard-working but from the wrong side of the tracks whilst he was born with the proverbial silver spoon a typical grumpy billionaire.

They met because a glass he was given had spots on it, as the dishwasher was broken it was Jennifer who was washing up by hand so she went out to speak to what she thought was an unreasonable customer.

He is intrigued by her as it isn't often someone who dares talk to him the way she does, so he accepts her bet, a bet she loses. His demand for winning the bet is her time, the chemistry between them is palpable although they are both too stubborn to admit it. The banter they share and the journey they undertake are so much fun!

Marshall is a wealthy man. The clash with the dishwasher, Jennifer, in the restaurant he just bought prompts him to teach her a lesson. She challenges him and makes him feel alive. Not to mention his sexual desire for her. The interaction changes from blackmailing her, to giving her the CEO job at one of his startup companies, to the need to have her close. Marshall seems to hold all the cards and power. He is playing a game with multiple lawsuits in the making. Lucky for him that Jennifer is eager to learn and really loves him. Jennifer has a heart of gold and ends up winning her man and her dreams.

Very good, but at the same time a sometimes annoying male character
I found that the story had a narrative that makes you want to read it because of the antagonisms, prejudices, misunderstandings, manipulations, which lead the two characters to meet, to give in to hating each other, to succumb to the other. However, sometimes, the character of Marshall really annoyed me and I wondered why the heroine stayed with him: does the attraction compensate for the lack of respect or listening?
In addition, the author stops certain chapters without transition with the next chapter, which sometimes disturbed me in my reading.

Not necessarily enemies to lovers.. more lovers to enemies to lovers as enemies

I really enjoyed the first 67% of the book or so. I could have done without quite so many scenes with them (not) in bed, but whatever, I know how to skim. My issue was the ending. None of it felt like the characters from the start of the book.

You'll like Jennifer and Marshall's story. They are both strong characters and have great chemistry together. The book is well written with an entertaining story line. It all began with a bet that she lost. He's a billionaire and she's a restaurant worker so they come from opposites sides of the track. He's controlling but she loves it. A little enemy to lovers romance with no shortage of sizzle. No cliffhanger and an HEA. I received a free arc from Booksprout and voluntarily chose to leave a honest review

Mentoring with a steamy side.

Liked most of this book but a bit of overkill on the sex scenes that were really long. There was a good story here even though you had to fight the sex scenes to find it. I liked all the characters in the book and am glad to see some of them in other books in this series. This story centers on how cruel the high-powered business world can be and how easily lives can be destroyed by one person's actions. We get a happy ending and character adjustment at the end. Marshall and Jennifer are an interesting couple.

Lots of spice with chemistry to boot. The action starts immediately drawing you into their relationship. You will enjoy their banter along with the cute storyline. Definitely an “escape book” as events are not at all probable but isn’t that why we read? Ignore the impossible and focus on the love story! It’s a quick read sure to make you smile!.

A Stimulating Read!
The author gave the readers a business romance where every encounter between Marshall and Jennifer was steamy and explosive. While they appeared to have different levels of a moral compass, Jennifer’s actions showed Marshall there was more than one way to succeed.
I’m recommending this book for your reading enjoyment and pleasure.

Hot reading! He really met his match with her. She challenged him on so much, that he unknowingly changed to become a better person. She was ready for what he dished out to her. They could accept each other with their flaws until he really underestimated her. He hurt her for no good reason. I think she knew what she needed to do to not hurt anymore. It really was time for her to live life on her terms.

Marshall and Jennifer will keep you on your toes. Their relationship is fun from the beginning and they certainly like to challenge one another, in more than one way. They are perfect together for so many reasons and the sentiments they have is heart-warming. A lot going in on in this love story. Easy to follow, fantastic characters and beautiful HEA! I love Marshall and Jennifer! She speaks her mind and while that irritates him, he can't help buy be attracted to her. She gives him an ultimatum of sorts and now she is running one of his companies. She is determined to make it a success, but she doesn't know the full story. He throws back all of her sass, and soon they realize there is a fine line between love and hate. Great enemies to lovers story with a HEA, what's not to love! I received this ARC from Bad Boy Updates.

Laura Olsen did a good job on this story, My Bossy Billionaire had a strong plot, Jennifer and Marshall were strong characters, both were strong willed, they had their ups and downs but they were good together, the attraction was strong between them, their chemistry was steamy, they were made for one another. I enjoyed their journey.

I liked parts of this story and other parts not so much. I enjoyed how Jenny overcame things that were put into her way. I didn't like how Marshall pretty much made her have sex with him and what he did to her business wise. I am glad things worked out in the end for them with a HEA.

My Bossy Billionaire was an enjoyable enemies-to-lovers romance. I loved the dynamic between Marshall and Jennifer. They had a witty play against each other and would purposely do things to get a rise out of the other. Marshall was a bit of a bully at first although not in an unlikable way.

I enjoyed the dynamics of the two characters

I very much enjoyed the dynamics of the two main characters but to me there were a LOT of six scenes. In fact most the book was made up with six scenes. I'm no prude but I like actual story instead of of that, but the story was really great.
