Not everyone gets a second chance. Not everyone is looking for one.
Jonathan Bridge is more than a professional baseball player. He's a single dad, a widower, and a very cautious dater. He may never get over the love of his life and the rabid fans just looking for a rich husband certainly don't help. But Lucy is far from average.
Lucy Fallon isn't looking for a Sugar Daddy. She's not looking for anything. Lucy just loves baseball. Growing up watching and attending every game she could, it wasn't unusual for Lucy to tour the stadium... but meeting Jonathan was completely unexpected.
Can Jonathan and Lucy handle more complications? Are there questions that need answers they may not like? Their connection is undeniable but will it be a home run in the extra innings... or will they ultimately strike out?
Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, CM Kane was fed a steady diet of sports, particularly baseball. Having this love of the game instilled in her at an early age, she found that nothing was better than getting lost in the game. Storytelling was another gift that was encouraged in her youth, and she’s taking to the written word to explore a new aspect to the game she loves.
This was a solid 4.5 star ⭐️ read I thoroughly enjoyed the romance of Lucy and Jonathan. It was a very slow burn, but kept my interest through out. The characters were interesting, well written and believable. Their shared traumas made for such a emotional read. I couldn’t believe this was a debut novel, as it was so well written. Each characters voice was clear and the story line was nicely developed. I cannot wait to see what comes next for this very talented author ✨
I don’t even know. This tried to be a slow burn but then was also somehow instant love. Stalker plot drove it but the characters didn’t have any depth. Kids just got ignored/shipped off to other family members. It was all just kind of a mess.
