Destiny has approached. A painful past is explored. School is in session.
Zack and Zara have survived their first brush with nobles at the Academy. An experience that has left them trapped, lost inside a portal they were forced to enter.
If they can make it back, it will be their turn to make the rules and create some havoc.
Together they have grown stronger, pushing back against their past, and now they have something new, a friend. The portals which gave them a way to fight back, to claim the life they always wanted, have done more than that.
It brought them into the spotlight and made Zara a princess.
Everything is changing. Now they just have to survive what comes next.

I was born in a little town situated somewhere in Ohio and raised in an even smaller town some place in Colorado. I attended University for a time, where I discovered that while I enjoyed Electrical Engineering and Computer Science my true passion lay in writing. I live primarily in Colorado but have been known to move around as the need arises. When not writing, I enjoy riding motorcycles, reading anything I can get my hands on, and anime.
I'm seriously digging The Nameless Chronicles series. Zack and Zara remind me of me and my sister... but I wish my sister had cute abilities like Zara with her bears heheh. It's good to see the other characters being upfront with the siblings instead of keeping them in the dark about things that affect them.
What a hot mess of a book! The original was good because it had a plot driving it forward, with identifiable objectives and text that moved the plot forward. This book suddenly goes slice of life, with endless descriptions of agonizing over therapy sessions and pointless excursions that don't advance the plot. This book is also where the shallow world building in the first novel comes back to harm the novel, as the insubstantial geography and political science now hurt the flow, since there is little plot movement. The bad guys are never fleshed out and their motives are unclear even from the MC ruminations. Way too much time is spent on revenge (getting back at all the people who hurt them in book 1), and way too little in the way of personal progression, except for some attempts at dealing with their fairly massive PTSD. And, of course, it ends on a cliffhanger. Don't think I'll continue the series...
There are books i read to pass my time, then there are books that I want to last for days and days because i get drawn in my mind sees everything as described by the author. This is one of those books written by a really outstanding author. I know the third won't come fast enough so I'll just have to fill my time with something to occupy me.
Such a good book! Editing could have been a bit better, but it was not bad enough to take the enjoyment out of reading it. I was disappointed to find no book 3 out or even mentioned. Ending on a cliff hanger and no mention of the next book! Painful! Sigh. Fingers crossed that book 3 is in the works. Highly enjoyed books 1 and 2.
This second book in the series continues Zack, Zara and Tessa's adventures. I still like how Zack takes care of and protects his sister but she is also coming into her own more as is Tessa. They get ambushed enough to make your head spin. Couldn't put it down. Definitely recommend!
Good character development. Enjoyed the story as well though I wished for more portal time. Another serial ending. Tune in same bat time same bat station. Really needs an actual epilogue
