I have huge man problems. Literally, since one of my mates is a T-Rex.
Things are about to get interesting, because my day job happens to be in a museum. A museum full of dinosaur bones, if you know what I mean.
It turns out my bloodline is older than dirt, and an ancestral matchmaker decided to send me some gifts…aka, men. And not just any men, but dinosaur shifters from the past.
I’ve read enough paranormal romance to know all about fated mates, but I’ve never heard of fated dinosaur mates. These men are supposed to be my perfect match, here to help me learn about my magic. Rawr. Yes, they are as sexy as you are imagining.
My life had been a routine of working and spending time watching TV with my pet pig, Albert Einswine. Now I needed to learn to control the magic I never knew I had, learn more about my family line, and help these sexy dino shifters adjust to modern society.
All while hiding a T-Rex sized secret from the world.
To make matters worse, detectives are looking into the explosion I may or may not have caused when my blood mixed with some magic-infused ancient dust, which is a serious problem since the sexy green-eyed detective has my heart flip-flopping in my chest.
Dinosaurs & Disasters is a light-hearted romantic comedy with a whole lot of steam! This isn’t a save-the-world type of story, but rather it focuses on Arizona’s coming into her hidden abilities and tracking down each of her fated mates.
*This is a paranormal series, not a serious true-to-science series. So, if you are hoping to learn about dinosaurs, this probably isn’t the read for you. If you want to giggle hard enough that the people around you think you're crazy, then this might be the book for you!
Sedona Ashe lives in a tiny town in Tennessee, near the Great Smoky Mountains. She enjoys reading and writing stories filled with powerful paranormal females, and sexy supernatural men. Sedona has a tea collection of over 300 teas from around the world, which her husband claims has become an obsession. When she isn't writing, she enjoys hiking, free diving, and photography. She shares her home with three kids, four pups, five cats, an arctic fox, chickens, a crazy turkey, and way too many reptiles!
🦖 Bookish Thoughts I did not have dinosaur shifter romance on my 2025 bingo card but here we are! Sedona Ashe is officially an auto buy author! I laughed so hard reading her bunny shifter series and this Dino shifter series is equally hilarious!
✨ Turning on my heel, I took off, chasing after the traumatized T-Rex, the rampaging raptor, and the sadistic sausage.✨
I found this Highly entertaining. It's a lighter fun read but still managed to be a holey unique tale. The FMC works at a museum and late at night she was alone dusting the storage area when a series of highly ridiculous events caused her to reanimate/awaken a couple of Dino Shifters! But this was no accident of chance, it was more like destiny.
The FMC lives alone with her tiny pig Albert Weinstein, I love this little pig and all the fun pig puns the author wrote in at the start of every chapter. After her magical 'night at the museum, she brings her two new Dino Mates home for some sexy times and answers (in that order). Turns out Dinosaurs think pigs are evil creatures of mischief. Albert Weinstein with the Dino Shifters is like the mouse with the elephant in those old cartoons. Those Dino are scared Shiftless of that cute little piggy! It's quite funny.
The next morning the cops show up at her front door trying to find answers about all the damage to the Museum, thankfully the security cameras had been damaged so the FMC played the amnesia card. One of the Cops, a Hottie named Jack, is determined to learn more about that night mainly because he wants to get closer to the FMC. So now we have three guys in the Harem so far, more will be added later on.
Now, what I know all your smutty brains are wondering, is what Dino Pene looks like! Remember all those duck corkscrew memes that popped up and blew our minds a while back? Well apparently, Dino Shifters has something in common with modern-day Ducks 🫣🤭
I enjoyed the introduction to this series. It's sure to be full of adventure and silly fun. The story was slower pace-wise compared to some of the stuff I've read by the same author. Usually, her stories seem to start running from page one never taking a break to slow down and explain much. This time she started fast again but did slow down in the middle and had the FMC ask the right questions to give you enough information to further enjoy the series without feeling like you're left with millions of questions at the end of each book. You'll still have questions, just not as many as normal. The FMC was relatable as a normal person with some sarcastic wit mixed in. The MMCs are overly devoted and supportive, but the human Cop MMC was a bit too quick to jump on the Magical Harem bandwagon. He was 100% okay with everything as if she was telling him about the weather for the week and not that Dino Shifters and Magic exist. The FMC had a bit of this going on also but not nearly as bad as some of the ones from this author's other series.
So far, I enjoyed the hell out of it. I'll have to wait and see how the series plays out before I decide if I love it or not.
I loved this one. It was so different from other Shifter books that I've read and damn was it a fun read. I can't wait to read the next book. I also can't wait to meet the other dinosaurs.
Although this started a little silly, it turned into a pretty cute read. HOWEVER ... This was not a full book. I'm getting very annoyed with authors that market part of a story as a book. A complete story has to contain some basic story elements or hit certain plot points. While I recognize an author's creativity in how they go about doing this, a book cannot be considered complete without these things. (JMO)
When I saw dinosaur shifters and spice, I downloaded this SO fast. As someone who was raised on Jurassic Park and played archaeologists with my cousins in the backyard and owned all the VHS of Land Before Time, my dino loving heart was screaming with excitement.
This book was so fun and light-hearted. I liked the dinosaur shifters and the plot was as interesting as the spice. The characters were funny and likable. Every chapter starts with a pig joke due to the female main character owning a pet pig named Albert Einswine.
The shifters were hot and of course, hooked on their girl. The harem seems like it'll grow so I'm eager to see where the author takes this series. I would've loved to have known more about the dinosaurs history and Arizona's history also, but it was a quick read and there is much more development to come it seems.
Time for spam quotes that I highlighted:
"That relief, much like my ex-boyfriend's ejaculations, was extremely premature and destined to leave me disappointed."
"I was stubbornly clinging to life in much the same way cheap toilet paper clings to an unsuspecting butt."
"All the alien romances I devoured at night when I couldn't sleep were to blame."
"Man, oh man! Forget horses, this man was hung like a-dinosaur?"
"These men turned into dinosaurs. So would that make them weredinos?"
"'Doggy style.' Zon's eyes glinted as they traveled down my body. 'Dino style is far superior.'"
If you're looking for a fun, light-hearted, sexy RH about dino shifters and a pet pig...read this!
I’m having a hard time deciding how to rate and review this book. It’s definitely interesting. I enjoyed the background story and the idea of dinosaur shifters is great. I definitely want to see more of those. The potential was definitely there.
Arizona is adorably wholesome and clueless. She tries to take everything in stride but her naivety can be off putting at times. She is funny and her inner monologue definitely made me chuckle. I just hope she comes across a little less childish in the next book.
The guys, while sweet, almost come across as disingenuous. The relationship between Rez and Arizona felt forced. Zon was pretty much a side character until he all of a sudden remembered human thought and suddenly learned English. Jack just seemed to be thrown in there to break things up. It was all very odd.
Overall, I liked the plot and the concept of the book. However, I feel like it would have benefited from some beta readers and more proof reading. As there was a lot of spelling and grammatical errors. There are also inconsistencies with the guy’s appearances. At first Zon was blonde, then he had dark hair. All of this really took away from the story.
So I saw this book in a reader group on FB then I saw the trex in the background which spoke to my Jurassic Park soul. Then I saw it was Sedona and while I've never read her before I have a lot of her work on my TBR so I decided to fucking go for it with this one.
YALL I am in love. Sedona and me?? We are besties now and she doesn't even know it. First of all, I love the fuck out of the dino shifters. We all know that is not a common shifter I've read about it maybe one other time in a book that I preordered. I love the story of how they got to current times. I love JACK he is my cool cat man.
Then let's give Albert the spotlight he deserves!!! Bringing APEX predators to their fucking KNEES. That had me cackling and I loved it even more because I live on a pig farm and we had an Albert but her name was Roo.
I will be preordering book 2 because I need to know what happens. Also, Sedona if you see me some weird bitch in your bushes dropping off love notes about raptors in your mailbox it's just me ya girl lol
Dinosaurs, Disasters & Albert Einswine is the first book in the Dino Magic. I just KNEW I was gonna be hooked, because HELLOOO, dinosaurs! It's been so long since I've read a dino shifter story and this soooo did NOT disappoint.
Story: This story was absolutely incredible! Have I mentioned that I LOOOVE dinosaurs? Lol...
Arizona "Ari" was so damn likable. She's smart, Witty, hilarious AND has a cute pet piggy. Not only that, we get 23 (the audiobook had 3 extra chapters of book 2) Pig and Dinosaur dad jokes. I mean, come on, how can it get any more awesome than that??? Maybe, you have to have a weird sense of humor, but I highly enjoyed that. Ari's mates Zon, a Raptor shifter, Rez, T-Rex shifter, Jack, a human detective, were sooo swoon-worthy. And to think it was hinted that she has more out there. The spice was on fire. What a huge palette cleanser!
Narraration: Bridget Bordeaux and Jake Bordeaux did such a phenomenal job. They both brought out so much emotion and personality to their voices, that it really reflected what Sedona has written. This is the second audiobook that I've heard from Bridget and first one that I've heard from Jake. Since I'm now addicted to audiobooks, I really hope to hear more from them!
Dnfing this before I take anymore psychic damage, but I think I deserve to rate it after how much I did read. The pig jokes at the start of every chapter nearly did me in but it was the MC's inner dialogue that tipped me over the edge. This gets two horny dinosaur thumbs down from me
This was so cute, funny, and unique! I have never read a RH book that had Dino shifters!! It was so cool to read something new and unique. The only downside was the length of the book, which was 190 pages, this meant it was a very fast paced RH book. The FMC, Arizona, works in a museum, well one late night of working changes her life completely. She is a descendant from a very powerful magic user, who blesses her with 2 Dino shifters (a Rex and raptor). It was also mentioned that she will get more “gifts” = mates, later on. And since this left on a mini cliffhanger, I’m hopping there will be a second book!
I love how the dino shifters were scared of Arizona’s “pet” pig (who I secretly think is something other or more), and she also has a cop mate as well.
Mates: Rez (T-Rex shifter), Zon (Raptor shifter), Jake (the cop, human, and maybe comes from a rich background or is super smart and got his money that way…?), and more to follow.
Sexiness: 4.5 out 5. This book definitely didn’t lack and steam or sexiness!
Looking forward to book 2 (and I hope there will be one!)
Can’t lie: the puns and blatant jokes were *chefs kiss* perfection! I’m glad the author didn’t take things too seriously. And when the scenes were serious, there were perfectly timed instances of comedic relief.
And even though my landlord doesn’t want animals in our lease agreement, I am curious what they’d say about a teacup pig… bc I just can’t help but smile when thinking of a wiggling pig butt getting into mischief. lol!!
**My only issue I am foreseeing: these books are too short to be resolved in a two-part series… then I noticed between books 1 & 2, there was over a year between release dates. SUNUVA!!!! I HATE when I don’t dig further into a series before I get into it, then to realize the series is incomplete and I’ll have to wait ages for the next book.
This is truly a “me problem”….. WITH EXCEPTION when the author and/or publisher buries the lede about the series being incomplete. That’s just rude. I hope I’m jumping to conclusions and will edit my review if I am happily incorrect.
I'm not 💯 sure how I actually feel about this. I had a few good laughs, some of it was definitely worth an eye roll or ten and the dinosaur thing is, weird? But then I've read weirder *cough donuts cough* so 🤷🏼♀️
The most meh thing is the insta-love. I get the reason for it and it's basically the staple trope in the shifterverse but still, that was faster than making 2min noodles.
2.5* Not sure how to review this, I know it has been fairly highly reviewed and I am not sure if I am just missing something because I wanted to DNF most of the way through. The FMC was okay, but not overly interesting. He inner monologue wasn't funny for me, I don't think the sense of humour she has worked for me. I have no idea on her age (it might have been mentioned?) but she came across quite naïve and childish, so would have thought her 18-19 age bracket at most. I also don't understand the relationship with her parents, she always knew they wanted her to have a traditional relationship? They were supposed to be be wonderful parents but disowned her when they saw her with two men. It just seemed an OTT reaction, and she was being scolded like a child. There seemed zero concern about the accident, and how did they burst into her apartment? Doesn't anyone have locks on their front doors?? The MMCs...usually I really like the MMCs but honestly I can't remember much about them. Whilst I don't mind reading fated mates/insta-connection...I do need some effort in the relationship. It felt like as they were fated it was just a given and let's just get straight to the smut. Not much in terms of getting to know each other and relationship development. Rez came across as slightly condescending with the FMC, and Zon was in the background and I seemed to have missed the part when he went from not speaking to suddenly knowing the language? And the human MMC, argh that was just half arsed. He had zero hesitancy or questions about her lifestyle, the revelation of magic and was just interested in getting to the smut and tying themselves together forever. I can't recall what any of the characters looked like, and already forgetting parts which is a shame. The overall world created seemed interesting, there wasn't much of plot yet to comment on that but I liked the general idea so far. It was the writing and the characters that let it down for me.
I had this in my Kindle for a while before I got around to finally reading it. I should have read it sooner! I roared out loud many times through this book in laughter to the point where tears were streaming down my cheeks! I really liked Rez, Zon, Ari and Jack. And that pig? Albert is hilarious!
This book is a definite must read! It's original, funny, and a weird little reverse harem romance. There is a cliffhanger and a lot of unanswered questions. Book 2 can't come fast enough! I would be reading it right now if it was out! Come on author, we need book 2!
“Dinosaurs, Disasters & Albert Einswine,” is the first book in this series featuring a feisty, lovable, slightly clueless FMC.
It is, as I stated, a quick and easy read. **SPOILERS** Our FMC works at a museum. One night after hours, while mopping, she’s drawn to what looks like a gem covered in dust. She loses her balance, falls into a giant crate filled with dinosaur bones, the fall causing her injury and to bleed. The next thing she knows the wing of the museum is collapsing from some huge energy surge, and she barely makes it out…but she does, because she’s saved by Dinosaurs! Yes, you heard me right, dinosaurs; a T-Rex and a Raptor. The dinosaurs, at least the T-Rex turns into a hot human guy who INSTANTLY is in love with her and calls her his Queen. The raptor takes a little bit more time to turn into an equally gorgeous man. Long story short: thousands upon thousands of years ago when dinosaurs roamed, there were also priestesses that harnessed and possessed great magic. The priestess who was friends with, we’ll just call him “R” (lol) the was saddened by a vision she had that one day that magic would be stricken from the modern world. She decided to kill two birds with on stone. Since R was desperate for love and to find his true mate, and the priestess wanted magic to come back eventually, she proposed an Idea to R- or Rez, if you will. She told him his true mate wasn’t born yet, but if he was patient kind enough and strong in spirit, one day she’d resurrect his bones and be with him in both of his forms. Rez immediately says yes, and his best friend Zon also agrees to the plan, since he’d never encountered his true mate either.
Our intrepid museum worker just happens to be a long, long, long, long, long lost ancestor of that great magical priestess, and now, having awoken two dinosaurs from slumber they are absolutely devoted (and yes, especially in Rez’s case, in love with her) she’s their mate. It takes her a bit longer to come to grips with all of this. But she snuggles the two gargantuan men back to her apartment (God knows how) and tries to figure out a plausible explanation for what’s happening to her. Two police officers come to question her the next day, and she instantly is attracted to Detective Jack Oliver, a human police officer, much to her chagrin. The attraction seems to be mutual. Eventually her Dino mates say that they believe their priestess imbued her with TOO MUCH magic (or at least too many sorts of magic) and that magic is like a beacon to supernatural and some humans alike. That they’ll be drawn to her power, and may need to join her harem; cause one of the only ways to dispel her crazy bomb-like magic is to have sex and try to release some of that magic. So it’s safe to say we’ll be seeing more mates in the future.
Okay, so the good, the bad, and the ugly. Nothings really ugly here though :) just wanted to use that saying (lol): The FMC and her Dinosaur shifters are terrific! I love how Rez and Zon try so hard to keep their beast nature hidden in a modern world that they don’t understand…but still have their beast characters. I adore how “dominate” Rez is, WITHOUT being cruel, or acting like some sort of dictator, he allows her to set the pace, and is terribly sweet for a T-Rex (lol). Zon’s more “mellow,” and is a good counterpart to Rez’s fiery personality. I also enjoyed that the harem members are being introduced “slowly,” first the Dino’s, then the cop etc. and whoever may come after.
The Cons (and there are just a few): All of this happens waaaaaay to quickly. Our freaked out FMC just “accepts” the shifting dinosaur men (even if she thinks she might be hallucinating) right away, believes what they tell her and BRINGS THEM HOME TO HER APARTMENT! Okay, I understand that her tender heart doesn’t want to just dump them in front of the crumbling museum, but still, with little to no explanation from them, she somewhat accepts that they have a bond to her, and brings them home.
Rez, and Zon explain about the priestess, her “gifts” and her hope to pass those gifts to a worthy descendant of hers who’ll bring magic back when the world is ready. They tell her they agreed to be placed under the spell and wait in the bones for her, that they LOVE HER, would do anything for her. I think she takes this all to well - I’d have had a major meltdown at this point (but again, I did say the book was rather quick, guess the author couldn’t spend too much time on her nervous breakdown). Except, after her two second meltdown, she accepts that she has magic, that these Dinosaur men were meant for her and has sex with them! Yes! Just like that! In, like one day she’s already sleeping with them. Then the human cop Jack Oliver feels a pull toward her, comes to her, and she basically jumps his bones - he has no issues with this, since, he too, has felt something “greater” at work. Really? It’s just that simple? Of course the T-Rex, Raptor and human cop get along famously - all devoted to her. The book ends with the knowledge that her power may call more mates to her, and that her magic is growing in tsunami like proportions!!
Again, a nice play on shifter romance (I mean, dinosaurs, who’d have thunk, lol). It’s fun and easy to get through. The characters are cute, and the story humorous at parts. Just thought this insta-love on her part - and right into sex and claiming was a little unrealistic at this point in the story.
This is probably one of the funniest spicy stories I’ve read. Dinosaur shifters, magic, pig puns… you name it!
There’s instalove with fated mates but it’s the fun and fluffy feels that’ll take you away and make you have a really good time while reading it, I cannot wait to see what happens next with Ari, Zon, Rez, Jack and Albert!
.... yes. This is a dino shifter romance... Did i think I'd love it? Idk, but i did. Idk whats weirder my obsession with dark romance or weird shifter romance...
The characters are hilarious and spunky and delicious. The plot is twisty n kept me guessing
wtf....😒 This was like spectacularly bad but I'm glad it exists. Out of respect for hot garbage I will not be leaving a star review because I am not the target audience. Albert Einswine was the best character
After I sat through the newest Jurassic World (Dominion), I'd thought, "huh, why aren't dinosaur shifters a thing?" And then, bam! Up came the recommendation to pre-order Sedona ashes new book. And I was not disappointed! Enjoyable storyline, lovable characters, and the mystery of magic made me give this 4 stars. So why did I give this 5 stars? Because the pig jokes at the beginning of each chapter had me dying of laughter to the point my husband told me to be quiet bc our daughter was sleeping in the next room. Totally worth it. I've even shared most of the jokes with my friends just because they brought me such unexpected joy. Thank you so much, Sedona Ashe! I'm ready for book two!
I did not know what to expect with this book. This is the first Sedona book I’ve read and let me tell you, I am hooked!
For one, this cover is amazing! I saw it and I knew I had to read it!
For two, it pulled me in right away and did not let go! I could not put this down, I read through it so fast.
I am loving watching Ari start to embrace who she is and what her mates are to her. I am loooving Rez and Zon. And Albert?! Freaking adorable 😂
I was dying, this book is hilarious. And I absolutely adore the characters. It’s such a unique and fun concept, I cannot wait to see what happens next! This book is a definite must read!
