Emmy I thought my life hit rock bottom when my mum died, but I was wrong. Things got a whole lot worse. Those things stole my confidence and made me so afraid, that I tried my hardest to become invisible. Except now I’m on tour with one of the biggest rock bands in the world. The Cosmic Gods want me to spend the next 6 months traveling the world with them to ghostwrite their story. It would help me sort my money problems, I’d get to see the world and maybe it would drag me out of the funk I’ve fallen into. But how do you stay invisible when you’re with the Cosmic Gods? Crazy fans, serial stalkers, and press wanting their moment with four of the most famous people in the world. And how do you stay hidden when one God, in particular, pulls you into his orbit? What’s a girl to do when Tanner Hastings asks you to trust him? I mean, surely things can’t get worse than they are already. Can they?
Tanner I messed up. Big time. And now, I’m here being forced into 6-months of sobriety or risk losing it all. Sobriety leaves me raw and exposed. Emotions that I usually would have silenced with my addictions slam into me harder than a truck and I have no idea how to cope. Until her. Her lips. Her smile. Her foot rubs. In fact, I’ll take anything I can get from her if it helps me stay afloat and not sink into the bottom of a glass. Emmy Winters slipped into our Cosmic God constellation and helped us heal. She saved all of us. But my past is catching up with me and the voice in my head that reminds me that everyone leaves me, in the end, is getting louder The more of her I crave, the further away she slips. The harder I grip, the more she breaks. She trusted me with her past and her heart and I’ve just betrayed them both. In the end, I just hope she knows how far I’d go to protect her. I’d die for her. I’m dying for her right now, and I don’t regret a thing.
Esme is a 40 something romance author from the North East of England. She started writing romance during lockdown and developed a love of crafting stories about tattooed broken boys and the relationships that help them heal. Esme writes all sorts of tropes, but one theme runs through her books - love comes in all shapes and sizes and her stories celebrate that.
Tanner the lead singer, twins Grayson and Maverick the guitarists, and Frankie the drummer, were the members of the Cosmic Gods band.
As it was written in the blurb, Emmy was hired to (ghost)write the autobiography of the band, yet managed to heal and save all members. Well, being their healer or saviour was inadequately supported. Within a couple of days she became an integral part of their lives and this bond came out of nowhere. Shouldn’t they be at least slightly reserved towards her until they got to know her????
Characters with so many issues and so much drama!!!
Emmy, In addition to being a ghostwriter, suddenly became a therapist! She was analysing Tanner’s feelings and behaviour, giving him foot massage and chamomile to soothe him down after he almost spiralled out of control.
When Tanner kissed her for the first time, it was soooooo inappropriate of him and any good feelings I had for him vanished. His action was totally inexcusable!
While I like rockstar reads, this one was definitely not my cup of tea. Dnf @ 36%.
I recently read my first book by Esme called Bind Me and absolutely loved it, so I'm working my way through her other books, Loved Tanner and Emmy. Their story is beautiful and most definitely worth the read. It's a bumpy road for them, but they get there eventually, I love the journey this book takes you on. I would most certainly recommend reading, that's for sure. I can't wait to read more.
This book is such a big emotional roller coaster. I loved every second of it. The band always having eachothers back was real love for eachother. I love shelly and his little fiesty attitude. Tanner and Emmys connection is perfection. 100% recommend everyone to read this book.
Oh hell Esme, you have done it again, in a completely different world. God, did i cry, my heart hurt for them both. Tanner and Emmy, they have my heart! What a heartbreaking story but yet so full of love. I felt everything. I was gripped from right from the start. What a twist... and Thomas and Lissa 💕. I adored this book! Can't wait to read more in this series.
Tanner had a bad start in life but now he’s on top of the world on tour with his band of brothers, Cosmic Gods. This six months are going to be rough since he’s promised to do this tour drug and alcohol free. It had to be this way or everyone including his manager were going to quit. Emmy has just been hired to ghostwrite their story and travel with them for the next six months. Her first meeting with Tanner had him saving her from an attack and he wouldn’t leave her side, so as upset about the horrific event she decides to stay. The chemistry of these two is off the charts. Tanner is sweet and considerate, he treats Emmy like a precious jewel. They both have issues but together they’re awesome, together they’re perfect. This story is a rollercoaster ride, lots of bumps. I couldn’t put it down. I’m already downloading book two. There’s blackmail, danger and a mole among the group, their employees and security. I’m reading and biting my nails, it’s really good. The ending was fabulous, I’m giving this book four stars and recommend it.
Tanner and Emily. Two people who suffer from PTSD should never be together. One from drinking and drugs the other from an assault and if that's not bad enough, they act like toddlers. Everything not to say and do to a recovering addict in the beginning of his sobriety is in here. Suffice to say I did like the rest of the band and their manager. How Emily treats her best friend Quinn towards the end of the mystery is unforgivable. No wonder Shelly only tolerates her. I could hardly.
I was fortunate to receive an ARC copy of this book in return for a fair and honest review. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this story. I have read the previous series from this author and I liked that some of the characters from that series appear in this book. The book is well written with plenty of twists and turns, some you see coming and some you don't.
I loved the characters, their flawed nature and how they developed throughout the story. I particularly liked Tanner's toddler tantrums and found myself wanting to simultaneously wring his neck, laugh and roll my eyes!
The book takes place over the course of a year and there are plenty of hints at what could be in future books in this series, which I'm looking forward to reading once they are published.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this story and I can't wait for the next book!
This was a bit all over but overall enjoyable. The story just felt very rushed with certain plot points (or glossed over) but then very slow on others so it felt a bit imbalanced. Again, overall I enjoyed it but it didn’t feel emotionally fleshed out with our characters. The depth was missing. I guessed pretty early on who our antagonist was but the reveal and reasoning behind it felt rushed and a bit lackluster. I liked the band and Addi & Emmy vibes wise and a few more deep feeling moments but it all just felt instalove in the friendships and the love story with then no emotional fill after-it was 500+ pages that felt like it could’ve either been way less or use those pages to go deeper in the relationships. I hope the rest of the series gets more in-depth looks at the characters & their relationships.
This was such a great read! I have a soft spot for all rockstar novels, who doesn't love singers and guitarists? I was super pumped to be able to get an early copy of this book because I just knew it was going to be amazing & it really was!
Emmy and Tanner both have this undeniable and fiery chemistry that from the beginning is off the charts. While they each deal with their own issues, they are there for each other - and I absolutely loved that.
This book definitely started a little slow for me, which was okay because by chapter six/seven it picked up and I couldn't put it down! Esme does an amazing job of having just the right amount of spice, romance, and rock in this novel. Absolutely obsessed with it.
This entire book had me reeling with emotions. It brought me so many smiles, yet I cried just as much. Oh and let me just tell you - I was PISSED at one point. I don’t think I have ever read something that made me so mad.
It’s worth the read I promise! We meet so many genuine characters that are going through real life issues.
At points I did feel like the story was a little rushed, but the main story line stayed true.
Ivy - my red headed sister ❤️ Strong throughout everything.
Was thrilled to be chosen to arc read this book for Esme. Tanner, twins Mav and Gray and little sister Frankie are the Cosmic Gods. An overdose and the band are falling apart, ready to split and the manager Addison is pulling her hair out. Queue Emmy, ghost writer brought in to write their story and background and follow the bands path on their world tour. Loved reading their story and following their goings on. Tanner, the front man has to change his ways or it’ll be the end. But do it for who?

Gave up at 50% - birthday party after Emmy's big entrance - wearing small crown on her head...
The beginning was too fast, I'm not overly fan of instalove, but I can go with it. What bothered me was that all members of the band loved Emmy after first meeting and begged for her to stay. Then there are some small things like - why would she share the bus with men if there is women's bus and she is supposed to be scared of men?
Anyway I'm going fast forward because I want to read story of Grayson.

Tanner and Emmy stole the show! Their journey of finding not only themselves but their way to each other is heartwarming. I laughed and I cried for them and their journey…don’t forget the tissues! With off the charts chemistry and plenty of spice…yes please! This book keeps you on the edge in the best way. Buckle up rockstars…Cosmic God will rock your world! Can’t wait for more from this series!
This was a fast moving story, of a young boy abandoned by the one person who should be there for him, his mum. Tanner was convinced he wasn’t worth loving and did so much to make others hate him, but deep down he was protecting those he loved as much as he could.
Emmy had a bad experience and just wanted to disappear in plain sight. Tanner saw her and wouldn’t let her hide.
This was a great opener for the Cosmic Gods story.
I really enjoyed this book, and would have given it five stars if not for the annoying typos. It was an interesting and entertaining storyline, with various twists, and although I had figured out relatively early on who the perpetrators were, I struggled to come up with a motive for one, so that was a clever surprise. Well worth readung.
3.5 stars I enjoyed the beginning and loved the last few chapters but I felt that it dragged a bit in the middle, maybe it could have been a bit shorter. Overall a good story that's full of angst, some suspense, sizzling sex, and an ending that took a twist and was good.
Cosmic God is an intense ride from beginning to end. A sensitive and compassionate story of people trying to find balance in their lives and come to terms with their demons, while finding their way through a new relationship. ARC provided in exchange for an honest review.
WOW what a page turner, I was with them all the way, can not wait for the next book from this author, just loved the twist and turns of all the band etc, would highly recommend 5star
