DI Sara Ramsey is called to a crime scene where a man’s body has been nailed to a fence. She also discovers the killer hasn’t bothered disguising the victim’s identity. When Sara turns up to break the news of the victim’s death to his girlfriend, all is not how it should be.
The case becomes even more intriguing as the body count rises and the motive for the murders remains a complete mystery.
Will time run out for Sara and her team, when the killer’s agenda is turned on its head and his motive becomes clear as he goes full throttle into his endgame?

🚨 MY REVIEW 🚨 MA Comley has never let me down when it comes to a good read that totally takes my mind off of everything . Lord knows I sure need that. I was glued to this story from the very first page. While I set in the er all day waiting to be seen I flew through this story. Before I knew it I was turning the last page without ever looking up. Someone is killing men in such violent ways. But who and why? What have these men done to deserve being tortured and murdered? How are they all connected? Sara and her team have nothing to go on but need to find the killer fast as the body count is growing by the day.Once again she has written another 5 star book that is packed with action on every page. I can not wait to read the next one in this series.

Once again M. A. Comley has proven what a sick and twisted mind she really has, for the torturous methods of death in this book were stomach churningly horrific. I did slightly regret having read especially the prologue while eating dinner.
Oh killer is particularly villainous in this story and we had plenty of chapters from their point of view, including a name for the killer very early on indeed, but just because us as readers know who did it, we still had no idea how they would be caught if at all, or just how DI Sara Ramsey and her team were going to deal with this new case.
I was completely hooked from page one, it was addictive and another fantastic addition to this series I was willing Sara on, hoping she would somehow manage to solve this one, when once again there is a killer who seems to know how to cover their own tracks.
I challenge you to think of a superlative that hasn't already been used to describe this authors writing, and if you do figure any out, please let me know, as I really need to learn some new ways to describe an utterly fabulous, incredibly talented author and series.
Thank you to the author for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily,
I thought that this book was excellent and it is another cracking addition to the DI Ramsey series which just keeps getting better and better for me, the plots are well crafted and the books brilliantly written – this is my favourite crime series around at the moment, and in a genre as busy as this one that is definitely saying something and the high praise is more than deserved.
I thought that this story was really addictive and I had it read within a few hours of it landing on my Kindle. It was one of those books that I knew I would want to carry on reading after the first few pages, I was intrigued about the motive and wanted to see where the author took me with the story.
As the other books in the series this one was very well written and it was dark and gritty as you follow the crimes being committed and it was a little gruesome but that was fine and more than in keeping with the plot and story.
It was an addictive and thrilling read and I thought that the writing style was perfect, as I have said in my last two reviews for this series the author is a fantastic storyteller, her characters are well developed, they have some excellent interaction and as well as DI Ramsey being a copper, she is more than that as you get to see her homelife and the more personable side of her too. Sara and Carla are my favourite crime fighting duo and the supportive team are pretty good too – can’t wait to read what they are faced with next – this series is genuinely getting better and better.
It is five stars from me for this one – very highly recommended and another brilliant addition to this very addictive series
Holy whatsits - we are now on book 17 of this series and it's still as fresh as a daisy! This time Sara and Carla have their work cut out for them as the body count rises in the case they are called in to investigate. It's a doozy of a killer too - one who torchers their victims prior to allowing their death to come as a welcome release... Meaning it's personal... With time running out will our duo, and the rest of their team, catch a break and stop the killer in their tracks? Phew what a ride this book was... I lost track of the amount of times my heart leapt into my mouth along the way as the action ramped up. Even though I knew who it was, it was fun watching how Sara and Carla played catch-up. Their thought processes and the banter and sniping they go through to get to crux of the case. Pacing is on the whole fast but always matches the narrative and the story is delivered with no superfluous waffle or padding - which is a blessed relief compared to some weighty tomes published these days. The personal lives of the main cast do feature as always but, again as always, never overshadow what is going on in the main story. Obviously for that reason, and cos what has gone before in this series has been so darned good, I would recommend you do try and go back and start the series from book one if you haven't already done so. If you have then it beats me why you are still reading reviews! Go on and read the book already...
Sara and Carla are back with a new case to test their skills. As with most fictional crime cases, things are not straight forward and time is not on their side as the body count starts to grow.
Knowing what the killer’s agenda was in this story was very intriguing. We get to know more about the killer the further into the story we get but it’s a while before it’s shared with us the why’s so trying to work it out meant there was a lot of guessing on my part. I find that this can be most enjoyable trying to figure things out before the police. Of course it’s very rare that I do!
I can’t believe we are on book seventeen in the series already! The author mixes the books up with more of the characters personal lives in some more than other books. In this one their personal lives are yet again very much in the background with the case powering the story along.
Time to Kill is a race against time to catch a killer which will keep you on edge as you frantically turn those pages. The author grabbed my attention and had me gripped throughout the story of which as always, I struggled to put it down. One of the things I love about this series and this author, I never usually have too long to wait until the next book in the series. Roll on book eighteen!
My thanks to the author for an advanced readers copy of this book. All opinions are my own and not biased in anyway.
Be prepared for the most turbulent and disturbing murders in this series so far.
This has to be the most violent and terrifying case Sara and her team have ever had to deal with.
A particularly nasty and unbelievably callous killer leaves behind a trail of extremely violated bodies, not even bothering to hide them.
No DNA left behind and, apart from the callous and inhumane treatment of each victim before their eventual death, there seems to be nothing to link them.
This is a case which will take Sara and her team to the very edge of endurance.
The recent loss of Sara’s mother and the latest revelation by her father, coupled with her concern about her friend and work partner, Carla, whose relationship is also preying on Sara’s mind. However, she must put everything else aside and concentrate on the case. Violence of this magnitude cannot be tolerated.
Not for the faint of heart but a truly edge of your seat read. Highly Recommended.
DI Sara Ramsey and her partner DS Carla Jameson are called out to a horrific crime scene by Lorraine , the Pathologist .A man has been nailed to a fence , tortured ..killed and left to lie in an ally ..With the dead man's ID they are able to find out more about the victim , but Sara feels that this case will be complex and hard going without leads. Within days there is another brutal murder..and as Sara and her team try to find a connection..the killer has already planned their next move .But Sara Ramsey will not rest until they find the perpetrator...Gritty ...Dark with a twisted tortured soul ..This time round we know who is behind the killings ...but what is the reasoning behind ...? Mel Comley ..looking forward to the next book in the series ..Another Stunning read ...
DI Sara Ramsey, Carla and the team are back with a horrific killer on the loose, he is torturing his victims before killing them.
As the bodies increase, the team need a lucky break to crack this case.
In this story, we find after a while why the killer is committing these crimes. I found the prologue actually turned my stomach due to the graphic scenes, although it didn’t stop me from enjoying the book.
I like the characters in this series and loved the ending - not giving anything away.
Another outstanding read from the author. I did not put this one down, I needed to know what was happening!
It’s always so good to catch up with Sara and the whole team. Each installment of this series delves deeper into the characters, their personalities and their relationships. It makes the story richer.
Time to Kill has a creepy serial killer who has the team stumped. The book grips you in the first page with a gruesome murder and no insight as to the motive. But with Sara and Carla digging deep, supported by the team, as the story progresses the mystery continues and more killings take place. At one point a clue is revealed. But will they put the pieces together?
Great read. Good story with interesting characters. I highly recommend!
What a fabulously violent and bloody instalment! I really enjoyed the team getting together again to work on a new case. Sara, Carla, Lorraine, et al, all have a fab rapport.
The chapters from the perps POV added extra insight into the driving force behind the crimes and as always, there was a racing finale. Stakes were high, danger lurked and the personal relationships of the team were all satisfyingly moving along. All what I’ve come to expect from a DI Ramsey.
Glad Misty made an appearance too - aww. Nothing like a bit of kitty-cat light relief. Fab read!
Woohooooooo......... just read time to kill...... what a fabulous addition to the DI sara ramsey series. Rollercoaster or what......? Sarah and the team are looking for a killer who tortures his victims and then kills them, why???? What have these people done to make owen silver that mad and angry??? Time is off the essence the killer needs to be found. Who is the extra person that attends sarah and marks sunday lunch???? W.O.W love it love it another cracker.. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
When a man's body is discovered tortured and murdered D I Sara Ramsey is tasked with finding who did it and why. Then the body count starts to rise as the killer really gets to work! The identity of the victims is not even hidden. We even get in to the mind of the killer and find out why he is torturing these men. A gruesome start to the book but I just couldn't put it down. Another great, on the edge of your seat, page turner.
Another great book with Sara and Carla desperately working to find a killer. From the opening gruesome prologue we begin to learn about the murderer and gradually we find the twisted reasons why they feel they have to kill. This is not a book for the faint hearted at all, the murders are horrific. Sara leads a great team who work tirelessly to solve the case as soon as possible. Yet another great book from this author, always so difficult to put down.
Sara is back and she has a hard to solve case. While you know who is doing this you don't know why. When you figure out what is going on with the killer you see some compassion being shown to him by Sara and her team. If you like British Poiice Procedural, or if you want to check it out, I recommend you to do so.
Another excellent edition of this enjoyable series.
More revenge killing to deal with in this episode but a number nice flnale, all the same. I writing up like today the sentencing procedures as well. Make sure. all ends are tied tightly. Also treatment for illnesses that are discussed.
Enjoyable read although some parts distressing. Still can't warm to Carla and although the stories are always good, all the character's sound the same the way they express themselves, and always so polite even when they're having a fight, I find it really odd. No doubt I'll still end up reading the next one.
A vicious case here for the girls! Sara & Carla are investigating a horrendous murder and as it gets deeper into it things get worse. With their usual insight they tackle it all. Can’t believe it’s book 17! Great series.
A great series has you hooked from the beginning. Men are being tortured to death and no DNA found and nothing to connect them. A difficult case for Sara and Carla and difficult problems for them both in their private lives.
Wow a book that gets you hooked Sara is working against the clock to catch a killer he has killed 3 men he isn't going to stop its upto Sara and Carla to stop him 5 star read
Very good police procedural. There didn't seem to be any plot holes and although the criminal is caught the the end is more realistic than happily ever after.
I got hooked on DI Sare Ramsey's series, by M.A. Comley. In fact, I got hooked on all the books by Ms. Comley. At times, M.A. Comley gets too horrific when she describes how a character is being killed. Maybe it would have been better if she had toned it down a little. Or at least, give a warning in the description of the story.
This book begins with the question of why an unnamed individual has targeted, tortured and murdered a stranger before throwing you straight into a race with D I Sara Ramsey, Carla and the rest of the team to catch the killer with no clues to go on. I read this book at breathless pace as you also see into the mind of the killer. It’s action packed, gritty and a rather gruesome read in places, but that is offset perfectly by reading more about Sara and especially Carla’s life. As ever M A Comley has produced another cracking read, showing why she really is the mistress of this genre.
an outstanding book !! I thoroughly enjoyed this one with DI Sara Ramsey and DS Carla Jamieson.
The bodies are piling up at an alarming rate for Lorraine to deal with. There seems to be no rhyme nor reason as to why these crimes are being committed until the killer slips up and comes up against a force to be reckoned with. That’s when Sara and Carla get their break that they so badly needed. I love this series and look forward to many more.
