Celeste, after her first encounter with Buhara, is deeply frightened into a sprint to get stronger. This leads her down a dyadic path. The first will lead her to reacquiring the eleven ancient artifacts that once sealed Buhara and his demons in the Otherworld. The second will be towards the dark truth behind why she, of all the magic users in the world, is the only one capable of combating Buhara’s plans.

This already impossible journey of hers will grow even more difficult when Buhara, who has been the opposite of static after his recent defeat, found one of the eleven artifacts and used it on Celeste. Its effect: all of her conventional magic was ripped from her soul.

Now all that remains to her is a small group of ragtag friends and reluctant allies as she must turn to both her true heritage and unconventional methods of magic to stop Buhara’s imminent return.

While this blow to her chances was dire, it would be the truth that nearly destroys her before the end.

D. A. Wells creates immersive fantasy worlds where ancient magic meets modern discovery, appealing to readers who believe the best stories transcend age boundaries. Her interconnected universes span from sorceress academies and dragon-filled realms to contemporary settings where hidden heritage mysteries unfold in university libraries and ancient cathedrals.

Known for intricate world-building that rewards careful readers, her stories feature complex symbol systems, progressive magical authentication, and authentic relationships that drive both personal growth and world-changing consequences. Whether exploring magical academies, bloodline legacies, or high fantasy dragon lore, her work combines intellectual depth with emotional resonance, creating narratives that satisfy both young adults discovering their place in the world and adults seeking sophisticated escapism.

Her fantasy spans multiple genres—from the academic urban fantasy of the Ava Calloway Universe to epic high fantasy dragon sagas to magical academy adventures—but all share a common thread: characters who must master not just magical abilities, but the wisdom to use them responsibly. Like the most beloved fantasy series, her books offer layered storytelling that reveals new depths with each reading, appealing to anyone who believes that the most powerful magic lies in the choices we make and the relationships we forge.

Perfect for readers who appreciate fantasy that grows with them, offering adventure and wonder while exploring themes of heritage, responsibility, and the transformative power of authentic connection.
