Rachel Roberts adores magic, adventure, animals, and music. Rachel is an devoted campaigner with animal rights and protection of wild places organizations. Rachel’s has been reading ever since she could first carry a book and enjoys getting lost in a fantastic story. Rachel has been a writer as well as a editor her entire career. Rachel says the majority of concepts for her stories and characters appear on lengthy hikes. She brings a little notepad, just for jotting down thoughts. Afterward at her house Rachel builds on the ideas together with feline friends, Attila and Raider. She also is in love with music, playing the piano, flute, as well as learning to play guitar.
Avalon: Web of Magic is Rachel’s very first series of novels.
Kara and Adrian are both level two mages with bonded animals, Adrian has Dreamer and Drake, and her first bonded and now her paladin, Stormbringer. Kara has Lyra, the dragonflies and Starfire her firemental paladin. Emily has been the odd mage out all this time, she hasn’t bonded with any magical animals. But all that changes when her and her friends learn that all the animals in the ocean are sick with a devastating water sickness. This is in the magical realm of course, I’m not sure where exactly, it’s not Aldenmore. Emily meets a strange purple and pink baby sea dragon, who pretty much eats anything magical in sight. Including Emily's healing gem stone. This cute little guy is eventually named Indigo, Indi for short. Indi is a strange little creature that is very attached to Emily, turns out he’s a power crystal that wanted to be in animal form to be with Emily. Indi says “I am for Emilee” several times throughout the book. Cute little guy. He takes the shape of a unicorn knowing Emilys deep love for the creatures. He proudly states “I pretty unicorn!” Several times too, which is too funny and adorable and cute. So Emily goes on an adventure with Indi, and Marlin, prince of the mer folk, in order to save the ocean life from the dreadful water sickness. This book has a lot of adventure in it, and Emily sees a darker and much stronger side to her magic that terrifies her. Apparently out of the three mages one is destined to betray them all and turn dark. I’m actually surprised the last two books haven’t mentioned it yet. One of them turns dark at the end of book eleven, I won’t spoil who it is in this review, I’ll tell you after I read book eleven. It certainly adds a nice twist to the series. On to the dark mage.
Most of the book was fairly boring. Emily accidentally killed several creatures with magic and a shapeshifter ate her magic jewel. Towards the end, though, she found her new powers, which was extremely cool. Writing was better than previous books.
My favorite part was when Emily had found the heart of Avalon, temporarily stopped the dark sorceress, and rescued a bunch of dragon eggs, all with the help of her friends. My least favorite part was when the dark sorceress, disguised as Miranda, tricked Emily into creating a magic wed that trapped and hurt a bunch of magical animals. My favorite character was Indigo, because he tried to help and make a friend, even if he did bad things to get there, he tried to save Emily. My least favorite character was the dark sorceress, because she pretended to be nice and helpful, and tricked Emily into hurting a bunch of animals and steal a bunch of magic from dragon eggs.

The creatures of Aldenmor's oceans are ill, and Emily is unsure how to save them, especially after she ends up stranded alongside an annoying merman prince - but an adventure across the open waters is their only hope, even if it means pushing herself to the limits and facing the dark side of her powers. Roberts brings fans another slightly clunky but exciting quest, wielding more charm and humour with plenty of mystery and twists to keep eyes glued to every page. Can Emily find the true strength of the Healer in time, or will she lose herself in the murky depths?
Heart of Avalon is the tenth book in Avalon Web of Magic. In the series 3 mages use magic to try and save the magical worlds and find Avalon a missing legened.
In Heart of Avalon,Emily, the healer, feels left behind. Her friends,Kara, the blazing star, and Adriane, the warrior, have all leveled up in there skill of magic, while she is still at level 1.But when a mysterious sickness occurs, the only way Emily can heal them is by becoming a level 2 mage and discovering her real powers.
Heart of Avalon was a really good book because it was really descriptive at most parts and pulled me in to the point where i didn't want to put it down.At some parts, it went really fast and got a little confusing, but it was still a really good book.
Emily was not my favorite of the trio, but she did grow on me during the re-reads. Showcasing just how important Emily is while she is offstage thinking herself quite useless was sweet to read. It's obvious that Emily is a bridge between Kara and Adrienne's very powerful and different magics as well as their opposing personalities.
Absolute perfection, I loved Emily in this book, that's not normal. I liked how she shed perfect Emily for these last books, she became tougher, and got herself some flaws.
I liked this one. Heart of Avalon gives you a close look in Emily's personality more than any other book. Also, this book puts Emily in Kara's place from book 2.
