Ten X murders for the mind is a collection of 10 crime and detection stories about various complex crimes and the ingenuity of detective inspector Samsher Brahma and his team in Solving them.
Each story has a mind-blowing plot filled with exciting narration. The author captures the reader's attention and makes them curious about what will happen next.

The stories have a surprising element, a different climax and a unique case to solve for inspector Samsher. I loved the way the events were sequenced.
The author shares stories about Criminal Legacies, Mobile phone butcheries and many others. I loved how intelligently the inspector investigated, the meandering confessions, detection through timings of crimes was exciting.

It's a smooth paced story with an engaging writing style and a crisp narration. The complex plots will dwell the readers into an amazing mystery.
Mobile phone Butcheries and Modern Bloodshed are my favourite stories. Each story has its own journey, its own experience that the readers will witness.
Want to read some thrilling stories? Do not skip this book. A book you can read this weekend. An interesting read.

Ten X Murders for the Mind by Amitav Ganguly is a riveting crime thriller cum murder mystery book featuring the Inspector Shamsher Brahma. It is a collection of 10 crime and detective and murder mysteries. All the stories are different. Their backdrop and characters are different, not overlapping. However, throughout all the stories the Inspector Shamsher Brahma remains one common character. As a matter of fact, he investigates all the murders by using his unique and unparalleled ways.

Since the book offers 10 stories, there are more than 10 murders in the book. The motives of the murders are common i.e. greed, wealth possession, revenge, vengeance, and so on. However, the way the crimes are detected and investigated is something that defines this book different from others. For its genre, the book is way great and tall in stature. Often such kind of multi-layered and intriguing murders one witnesses in foreign authors works such as Agatha Christie, Dan Brown, Daniel Silva, and so on. Here Amitav Ganguly brings the fresh excitement and riveting stories from his pawn of experience. His writing style is simple yet captivating. He perfectly knows where to end the game of predictability.

The USP of the book is that it is driven by the police investigation than any other larger-than-life private detective. The stories move forward with very less sweeps. The author has highlighted the criminal tenacity and motives over the personal issues of the crime-solving team. It is an all-weather book, profound readers of this genre will love it for its unique blending of many aspects into one.

However, there is a common thread in many of the stories and that is about lusting after property and business empires and will by wrong ways. For instance, stories like Beastly Massacres, Murders with Venom, Criminal Legacies - these stories perfectly captured that theme.

Also, usage of technology, alibi, and skills astray the clues but it in the end the brilliance of Inspector Shamsher Brahma and his team outpace all wits and fake evidences. The stories followed a pattern which is not only easy to understand but also equally entertaining. I personally liked when the Inspector confronts its culprits in the end with all valid evidences. To many Indians, the book may remind of the detective Byomkesh Bakshi. The Inspector had similar traits but way different when it comes to time and office they held.

Overall, the book is a lengthy read but worth its money and time. The collection is not monotonous, there is all sorts of crimes and motives that one could think of. The book needs to be read slowly, one story a day.

Wow!! Ten X Murders for the Mind is my first Amitav Ganguly book. Indeed a wonderful book on murder mysteries. I was hooked by its cover – it conveyed what could lie inside the book. It was simple yet engaging. Overall, the book is a fast read, though it has 10 stories, running over 300 pages. What I noticed that all stories’ length is almost equal. In fact, all stories are lengthy and sound like a short novella that I often read on Kindle.

The author has maintained a fixed kind of pattern for storytelling. He used sweeps and back stories very rarely. The stories chug ahead with amazing twists and turns, keeping the predictability at bay. In most of the stories, the crime takes place at the beginning. Thus, making ground for the Inspector Samsher Brahma. He is the lead character in all stories. All murders and crimes are solved by him and his team. All stories are Indian.

It is a collection of murder mystery stories. Each story is different from its previous theme and characters. However, the guy solving these mysteries is Inspector Samsher Brahma of the Homicide Squad. Thus, I can conclude that the stories are set against one particular city. But it never occurred to me that. I always felt the difference in all aspects. Or possibly, the author didn’t open himself with nature or city workarounds, he kept many things secret and silenced. It was done to instill a sense of suspense in each story.

Some stories are spiced since the beginning, while a few takes time midway, and some of the stories sound totally unpredictable but the end clears the fog from everything. There is discipline and dedication in the book. Nothing is random or ill planned. Mr Ganguly shines with his brilliant narration of crime events and then unfolds them on the basis of logic and evidences. At any point, none of the stories sounded ‘open and shut’ cases, however as the investigation proceeds it reveals more secrets than one could possibly think.

By all means, the author did his best to keep the identity of the killer hidden. A fantastic crime thriller! To some extent, a classic book with good stuff and all. I will read more books by the same author!

Ten X Murders for the Mind by Amitav Ganguly is a terrific page turner featuring the bravados of Inspector Samsher Brahma of the Homicide Squad. It is not a novel but way riveting than any crime suspense one. It narrates 10 stories where murders occur for a variety of common human reasons like vengeance, greed, will and testament, family allegiance, and much more. From company to radio stations to apartments and werewolf in the house – murders happened everywhere in the mysterious, dark, cold, harsh, bloody, and spine-chilling way.

Since the stories are lengthy, I read them leisurely and midway of the story it becomes unputdownable. The patient yet intelligent cop Samsher Brahma solves all the murders with his wit and wisdom. How murders happen are not shown in the book, rather the cop investigates to find out the motive and timing and real urge behind that. In the first story, the motive was greed. It happened in the corporate real estate company where a person is killed while taking care of 5 crores. Too many people fall under the lens of suspect. Finally, the cop busts that it was fake make-up like a theatre artist that the murderer donned to do the act. He caught that with a glue…imagine the routing of evidence from there. Similarly, there are other stories where the killer almost gets away with technology or a perfect alibi…but the Inspector and his ways of working are way ahead than culprits.

Other than murders, interesting incidents follow leaving behind a trail of bodies and some very unique characters and situations. Like most of the murder mysteries, I finished this book in one sitting, with just a lunch break in between. Despite being a 300 + page, the book is addictive in nature. I couldn’t stop until I reached the last story, which was slightly offbeat due to that diary angle. Impressively well-written and well-edited, Amitav Ganguly should have been coming with more full-fledged crime novels of short length. I highly recommend this book especially for readers who love a good thrilling murder mystery.

Ten X Murders for the Mind by Amitav Ganguly is probably one of the best in the genres by any contemporary Indian authors today. I was able to finish the book in a very quick time thanks to author's brilliant writing skills, and the characters and sub-plots were sketched quite well. I was intrigued by the cases and thought that no one may be able to find the real culprit behind the bars. But reading crime suspense or murder mysteries is about patience. And then I was awarded with sheer pleasure. I loved the cool and composed inspector Samsher Brahma. His character portrayal was way larger-than-life. He remained in all the stories. Let me remind you that it is not a novel, rather 10 murder mysteries at different places with different motives. Not wanting to dole out much, I would urge you to take the book under your command and read it whenever you feel like going being hollow in life. I think this book has all the material to be a next Netflix or Amazon thing. You never know! Fingers crossed! For me this book worked, I had really enjoyed it and didn’t have any compunction after reading it. A wonderful book for murder and crime lovers!

Amitav builds new plot for each story in the book, so 10 murder mysteries are set on 10 different agendas and other factors. The book is full of excitement, wit, and dreadful ulterior motives of the murderers. All stories are original and give a feel of satisfaction to readers. One thing is sure shot about this book that it doesn’t disappoint readers with shallowness or fake stories. I have nothing much to reveal about this collection as it is understood from the title – 10 murders for the mind. Writing style is straight and consistence. The author didn’t do any experiment with variations. He felt the need of self-discipline in the book and he maintained it wisely. I awed in appreciation for the author as without a novel, he excels with a collection of stories, otherwise I have experienced in the past that author intermingle stories. This is by far purest in writing and imagination. I don’t know what inspired the author, but he has taken care to deliver a fresh set of murder mysteries. His usage of alibi in the book is great job.

Ten X Murders for the Mind by Amitav Ganguly is a multi-layered crime thriller with specialization in murder mystery solving. The book reads like a novel, however, it offers just 10 different murder cases which are solved by the police inspector Samsher Brahma. Each story is a class in itself, there are logic and evidences and subtle trails over high-rush chases and too much action or bloodshed. The stories sound sublime and move with an exquisite measured pace. If you are someone who enjoy the long and slow crime read, well then this book is for you. For fast-paced readers, this book may be a bit offbeat. Pick up the book to get into gradual and immersive experience. It is a way good book unlike today's warts-and-all murder mysteries. The author looked well-read guy of foreign authors, thus he made the most of that experience. I cherished this book thoroughly. A good book by an Indian author. Good work!

Ten X Murders for the Mind by Amitav Ganguly is a collection of 10 lengthy stories about murders and crimes which are solved by the inspector Samsher Brahma. It is a wonderful deeply layered book on murder mysteries. The author has carefully placed the stories, with uniqueness and freshness not overlapping. It is one book that is totally based on logic and evidences over any random guesswork or euphoria of the detective. The stories sound engaging yet surreal. One must read them in leisure or with their own pace to thoroughly enjoy the collection. Murders took place for all possible reasons that we see in movies, however, the most twisted stories are related to revenge, not greed. I liked the book for its originality and measured pace and pattern. Indeed a wonderful book on murder and crime mystery.

Amitav Ganguly's latest released book Ten X Murders for the Mind is a collection of 10 medium to good length murder mysteries. This is like any other crime/murder mystery genre book but with amazing twists and turns in each story. If you are an avid fan of crime and murder mystery TV thriller on Netflix or Amazon Prime, I think you will love this for sure. I enjoyed first two stories like anything. They were related to greed and business inheritance. At the facade, things look normal but they aren't as the inspector Samsher investigates and catches the tiny speck from heap of chaos. Amitav's writing is at par with its genre, he knows how to steer a story ahead without clutter and chaos. He creates scenes of suspense and great thrill. I liked this book over any full-fledged crime novel.

Ten X Murders for the Mind is a murder mystery book written by Amitav Ganguly. The book offers insight into 10 murders that happen for a gamut of reasons. All murder stories are different with perspectives and motives and other reasons but they all are solved by the brilliance of the inspector cum detective Samsher Brahma of the Homicide department. He and others follow the trails and minutest evidences to solve the cases. It is an amazing read, given the limited premises, the book is tightly packed with action and chase. A book more than what its genre could appreciate it. Fabulous cases inside. A must go for crime lovers.

Amitav Ganguly takes the readers on a breathtaking journey of convicts and their crimes of murder. The book offers 10 murder mysteries in a fast-paced and engrossing manner. The language is good but not so simple that one cake walks over the book. It requires time and patience, to fully absorb its content and essence. In each story the plot is so enticing that it keeps the readers hooked. The stories are unpredictable and at times take a bizarre turn at the end! Rolled out in the Indian setting, it is another good-to-read book from the author. I would rate this as a must-read for crime & murder fiction lovers.

What I liked in this book is the good dose of humour that is generally rare in a crime & murder mystery books.

When it comes to horror, a good writer is one who is able to evoke that spooky eerie feeling in the reader. Sadly, this is not the case here. Though the stories do show promise, there is much left to be desired in terms of delivering a truly haunting experience. The element of horror is quite underplayed, while the writing is amateurish at best.

Forever She by Amitav Ganguly is an enthralling riveting collection of 7 short stories about love and passion, where in each narrative a female character nudges the main storyline. The book is not about romance or love stories; rather it depicts the true and unconditional love that two persons could share even in otherworldly dimensions.
The opening story is ‘Obsession for Whom’. It’s about an Adivasi woman going missing. The narrator upon reaching her village, he eerily finds the place somewhat strange. When the narrator sees the missing girl’s picture on the phone, he gets the vibes of seeing a soul mate. He feels love for that woman though never met her. In the surprising turn of events, he is guided by an intriguing spotlight pattern falling from the lamppost and the killer is caught.
Amitav took particular care to design backdrop in such a way so the stories can be placed without causing any shallowness. Above all his highly imaginative landscapes take the stories to another level. He used diversity and variance like the back of his hand. Supernatural stories cannot move at their own, the place and description of even minutest details play critical role. Amitav is brilliant with this skill.
All stories have supernatural element, their plots are entwined, but not guided by sheer horror or spooky stories. Themes based on love are well explored through the stories. In fact, reading this book means getting to know various facades of love in different circumstances. The stories are so captivating that a true admirer may fall short of the words.

The book opens up with a story of a tribal woman gone missing. The narrator finds a strange unusualness in his sojourn at the forest rest house, where he was guided by her benign soul to capture the rapist and murderer. Brumal evening, forested village, eerie silence, lonely roads, and a few characters – nonetheless the story was perfect with its backdrop. It didn’t give me a chance to pounce upon its end result, rather I had my own interpretations, and I chugged ahead with the story like a naïve listener.

Supernatural elements of this book aren’t meant to scare you, rather it insists on reconciliation and fructification of love and bonding. For example, in the last story, a woman finally gets to know about the death of her grandma through someone else. But here nobody was scared to a heavy extent, the experience they went through was different and queer but not exactly bone-chilling horror. There is subtleness in each story, no forced conclusion. The pace of the stories was perfectly captured.

Forever She: Tales of Otherworldly Love & Passion by Amitav Ganguly is a great book in its genre, for anytime, any day. I had a fascinating experience with this book, though in the radio watch story I was predicting the end, so does it happened, but the course of the story was amazing. With short stories, you cannot delve deep with their summaries. It is up to readers what they interpret and what they get.

Paranormal is an enticing proposition for someone that doesn’t want to get inside the scary horror stories, which most of the time involve bloodthirsty killers, sanguinary revenges, blood-curling events, and horrifying experiences. Paranormal is interesting, looked well when served cold. There is difference between horror and ghost stories and on one side paranormal. Reading Amitav Ganguly back to back made me realized that my genuine interest lies in paranormal stories over horror and ghost ones.

I have read first ‘Twelve Paranormal Tales’, and since then expecting another miraculous work from the author. He came right on time with ‘Forever She’: Tales of Otherworldly Love & Passion. I read all seven stories with great interest. On a personal note, it was better than the previous book. ‘Forever She’ is etched with great female protagonists, the title is apt and revelatory.
In Twelve Paranormal Tales, some of the stories were predictable. However, in Forever She, the game is different. Nothing is fixed or predictable. I was amazed to see the building of backdrop and inclusion of elements that cast shadow and impression of superstitions gone wrong, time travel, apparition, intervention from otherworld i.e. after death. Like the previous book, this collection too rolls hard on love and bonding. Since female characters are at the forefront, love like feeling was imminent.

Forever She by Amitav Ganguly is a riveting saga of love spiced with flavour of supernatural elements. It’s a short stories collection, all staged against Indian diverse background. The book perfectly captures the nuisances of a subtle horror thriller. It is best in its supernatural genre, short and easy to read any time without getting muddier with bloodshed and too much villain-like activities. A class collection of supernatural stories!!

Pleasing read, independent stories. The message and hunches from otherworld, also called supernatural elements, solves the case. This reminds me that stories are partly part of suspense and thriller genre too. My favourite story was about that diary… it was well-laid out and had that awesome irony in the end to befuddle all of us. Unexpected endings, mystifying settings and ambience, subtle ghostly apparitions, it has all that can please you with mild supernatural elements. The collection was brilliantly placed and I am sure all readers now must be looking for more stories from the author. Amitav’s narration was at par with Indian writers, he is a promising author. I think it is time for him to write a full-fledged novel in suspense/horror genre.

Forever She by Amitav Ganguly is a super class book of seven short stories about love and passion with tinge of supernatural elements. Previously, the author shot into recognition by a collection of murder mystery, namely “Ten X Murders for the Mind.”
All the stories are short and easy-to-read with mind-blowing endings. The context of ghosts, supernatural forces, evil doers, or spirits – all blend with other aspects in such a subtle way that you not only grow fan of the author but also enjoy reading the book.
Be it any story, a female is at the centre of the story. Thus, the title is highly apt. Another great aspect of the book is that no twist or turn repeats, all stories have different incredible endings. All the stories are set in different backdrops from a tribal region of Chota Nagpur to cosmopolitan cities like Mumbai.
It’s sure that the book will dole out an amazing experience to the discerning readers of this genre because of its bizarre and quirky nature. Neither horror nor ghost stories, Forever She is something different and otherworldly for sure. The narration flows like a smooth river. Amitav Ganguly is a master storyteller.

Forever She by Amitav Ganguly is a collection of 7 short stories where we get to see the true shades of love that are not only valued in current life but also in afterlife. This book adds supernatural aspects to all tales of love and bonding. A schizophrenic wife saves her husband from the clutches of police through a letter and solves the case, in another stories you will come across a radio clock saves tragedy back in time but at the cost of a life of a friend, in one story grandma connects with her granddaughter through a haunted mansion, and a dead lover takes revenge on his killer while also saving her from a dreadful stalker.

Tales of love and passion comes from a varied backdrop like that college love story of Vaasu and Garima and the ghost of Kuhu. In the story ‘Eerie Words’, a possessed diary and pen do the tricks but its inside story was way shocking and different than the readers could think of it. In that a possible murder looked inevitable but it was a case of shame and suicide. Long and better revelations await your turn. Though death is certain in all stories, their sub plots or climax never looked clichéd or overheard.

Total 7 stories and all became my instant favourite. I now greatly respect this book and the author for having such a flawless narrative, tight to backdrop and yet diverse with its content.
The stories more or less follow the line of love and bonding, if it is true and unconditional then it also transcends the other world. In all stories there is a tale of true love and respect that one does not even shy to help and collaborate even after death for longing and help. All stories are different with horror, ghost, and shadow stories clubbing together. The narrative and setting was propelling up the climax of each story. The first and last stories were solved without direct involvement of the protagonists but it has a shadow of that eerie feeling. Even if you feel love, it has many subtle ways to connect with you. The last story was slightly ghostly but surprisingly had no negative or creepy angle. In its finest form, the book never leaves its core supernatural essence. Short and an easy read for all. Loved it!!

Many stars to Forever She, this strange and enrapturing fictional book is a collection of seven short stories centered around strong women protagonists and their love and bonding and togetherness. In a warm and beautiful manner, the author explores the various fanatical shades and expressions of love, longing, and togetherness.
As a matter of fact, the cover page and title aptly suited to the stories inside. They set the tone and reveal what the readers can expect from this book, it’s not soothing stories for the romantic soul. Rather stories are from both the worlds, living and dead. The author showed that true love and bonding even guides and cares from otherworldly realms. It made sense to me with all stories, where either the protagonist or auxiliary characters were conveyed the real sense and message in a ghostly avatar or through some magical unbelievable work. Amitav’s easy and tranquil writing style perfectly brings out the emotions of the characters entwined.

Forever She by Amitav Ganguly is nearly a classy book of seven short stories that have elements of otherworld and supernatural elements. The notable point about the book is that it is about female lead characters and love is an evident theme that fulfils the criteria for unexpected twists and turns. If you are turned off by some bone-chilling and extreme horror stories, this is your mind refreshing light read.

Lucid narration with impeccable setting and healthy character sketching, this book qualifies to be a bestseller. I liked all stories; they kept me engrossed till the last line. Supernatural is a genre to be looked upon, after this book I am exploring this genre like anything. I don’t want to bring out the exact summaries, but mark my word you will gasp for breathe as soon as reach midway of any story.

Superb narration, can't express much what I relished from this book. All stories are my favourite, be it about that tribal lady or that stalker killed by ex love or making love to a dead girlfriend or that radio clock...it is a treat for readers. If supernatural entices you, this book is a must read for you.
