In this story we follow Dimitri, a man who had a good life fighting for animal rights and protecting our planet, when a stroke of misfortune came upon him. Now he has a different calling, he is able to take the scum of the earth out and do something to help make the world a better place, just in a different way.

This was such a good read. The characters were really well rounded and fun to read about, i was excited to see how and what Dimitri would do next. A really fun take on the grim reaper and what happens after death and what everyone’s personal hell looks like before judgment.

Dimitri is your average everyday guy. He has his own place, a job, he's a huge advocate for the environment, and has a good girlfriend. He's ready to propose to his girlfriend when a single knock on the door changes his life plans....for good.
But just when Dimitri thinks it's all over...an entity appears and things.....change again.

This was a fast and captivating read! The author Chandra, in real life, is so passionate about wildlife and life in general and it really shines through the pages! That is what truly made me love this book! Some of the deaths were brutal, while others were sad and touching. There was a lot of emotion in here and it was overall a great story.

This is not a heavy book, it's a book with importance. It's a quick read and one to pick up! 100% proceeds go to 2 wildlife conservations! Not only are you getting a signed book from the author, but your money is going to something good! As humans we need to do better with our world, or we will be the reason for our own extinction. I can't wait for book 2!

Cute, feel-good read about Death

At times it feels like an episodic collection of short stories, linked by the POV character. For me, a guilty-pleasure wish-fulfillment narrative that provides a bit of catharsis in a difficult world.

The way this book started out I was like what? Did that just really happen? It was an interesting read, a different take on the afterlife. And I really enjoyed the "job" he was assigned in the afterlife. It was a good, quick read. You should definitely check it out.

2.5 stars. I picked this one up from terrify your tablet day as I generally enjoy retellings! So a grim reaper retelling caught my eye.

I thought the concept was interesting, I enjoyed the way the author spun the grim reaper story into something new. You can tell the author is passionate about her story.

The story did have quite a few spelling errors and the sentence structure and flow wasn't always great. I found that really distracting.

I liked the mini stories within the story, but it did start to get a bit repetitive and I think the book would have benefited from being a bit shorter! And having a better developed plot so the story tied together better at the end.

The description of scenes was done well but the dialogue between characters felt underdeveloped.

I really enjoyed all the different aspects of this book and how Dimitri deals with his morality vs the job he is set to do. I really recommend this for anyone who wants a short, fast-paced, short chapter light comedy/light horror read. Really good for October too🎃

So excited for Chandra's next book and she is super sweet!

Short and basic

It's alright, short and basic. Grammar needs work in areas and an editor is needed. It has a good concept though.

Great concept. Several spelling errors, but overall pretty good. Man is given the task for something greater after death and absolutely loves his new job.

I’ve absolutely loved this! As always check your TWs! But this was a very quick and easy read for me.

We follow Dimitri as he gets murdered in his home because of a burglary gone wrong. He was just going to
Propose to his girlfriend! He was waiting until she got back from her trip. Then he meets Felix on the other side. Felix is god in this book or as they call him “the creator” he gives him the opportunity to become “the reaper” and boy does he have an imagination!

If you’re looking for a quick and easy read about time travel and the reaper pick this up! Half of her profits go to 2 different wild life organizations! That is so cool!

I ate this book up. For me it was an easy read for me. I love the details included in this book so much and the mid horror aspect of it was written beautifully. A family of mine wrote it and when I found out it came out I instantly read it on kindle unlimited. And I love the fact it is a charity book as well.

I Could Not Put It Down!

This was one of those stories where I just had to know what happened next. Kelton wrote it brilliantly with just the right amount of thriller, suspense, romance, and whit. I can’t wait to read another book from her!

A real page turner!
Dimitri was the perfect unreliable narrator in this twisty and horror-filled novella. It was a quick and haunting read that stuck with me after it was over. I hope to see more from this author in the future!

DNF at 15%

I expected climate change propaganda(that I never actually got to) but wtf is the rest of this?

Also who told the author that they couldn't use contractions? Were they being paid by the word??

Now THIS is how to write a horror story!

Dimitri is a character many can relate to, and really likable, I love all the gore in this and also the different approach to religion. I also loved how Kelton spread awareness on today's flaws.

Five well-earned stars.

The Grim Effect follows an MC put into a difficult situation and presented an unusual alternative way out. I found the worldbuilding and ideas to be interesting and larger than life. The kills are fun and creative, and the author is a great person who donates all proceeds to a cause. Give it a shot!
