4 novellas in one book featuring: 🏈 sports romance 💕 sweet football players 💃 independent heroines ✍ dual 1st person pov
Personal Foul ~ Reagan & Garrett 4.25⭐ These two originally met while in college, back when Garrett was a playboy. Now he's an NFL player and ready to settle down. It's love at first sight when he sees Reagan again, but she needs a little more convincing. ❣ Reagan's independence ❣ Garrett's quick acceptance of Nick
Fumbled ~ Ivy & Jude 5⭐ A vacation one night stand turns into a one week stand turns into happily ever after. ❣ Ivy's confidence and sign recognition ❣ Jude's relationship with his father
Hail Mary ~ Cam & Theo 4.65⭐ Theo cannot stop messing up in his personal life and his latest screw up is a doosey that can get him traded or fired. In steps head of PR, Cam, to help him get his life on track or her job is on the line too. ❣ Cam's realization that things are not always as they seem ❣ Theo's vulnerable side that he kept hidden
Blind Side ~ Ava & Liam 4.75⭐ I like that Ava and Liam's story is a little different than the others. They are not just meeting, but have been together since they were 14 and have been married for 12 years. They're in a bit of a rut and need to find their way back to each other. ❣ Ava finally standing up for herself and saying she's unhappy. ❣ Liam's all in approach once his eyes are finally open
Overall, each installment is a quick 100 page read with just enough steamage to not overpower the story. I'd be delighted to read more from Cala and Riley.
*Thanks to Cala Riley and Grey's Promotions for the ARC. I am voluntarily leaving my honest review*
Two years ago, Cala Riley was part of a sports series with various other authors set in Kristen Proby's With Me In Seattle Universe, and that’s when I first read Personal Foul, the first book in this collection. I didn’t remember enough about Garrett & Reagan to skip over it today, and it was fun getting back into the team and knowing that these guys were also going to get stories for their HEA!
As I mentioned in my review of Personal Foul back then, I enjoyed not just the story development and character growth, but it was also a delicious fast-paced, sexy, second chance to get it right, romance with a hero determined to get his girl, and I really liked it! 4.5 STARS
Ivy & Jude’s story in Fumbled was deliciously sexy and very heart-warming. There’s nothing like a vacation fling turn romance HEA to get my heart all full of hope and smiles! 5 STARS
In Hail Mary, the resident screw-ball, Theo, gets himself in one heck of a jam and Cameron is right there to put out the fire! What ensues is a fun and flirty journey of two people who shouldn’t be fraternizing but just cannot help themselves! 4.5 STARS
In Blindside we get the story of an already together couple, Liam and Ava, but they’re in trouble. Their relationship is on a downturn, and they just need something/someone to kick them in the shin! They’ve been together since they were barely teens and have been married for 12 years now. No one wants to give up on anything but … what ensues is a fight for their love and relationship with both Ava and Liam giving 100% into the fight! #swoon 5 STARS
All four of these stories pretty much add up to medium sized book you would pick up to read so they’re not very lengthy but all pack their own punch in the #feels. What I love most about this collection is the fact that they’re all together and you can read them back-to-back and see how the different players play in each other’s lives! Excellent! Well done!
I'm such a sucker for football romances, and this collection of romances was so good! There was something here for everyone and the feels were just off the charts! I was swooning and laughing, and oh goodness it's just so sweet when a big man falls in a pile of goo for his woman, and we get that big time here!
If you're looking for some feel good romances, this is definitely for you!
**I received an ARC of this book and these are my honest opinions!**
My goodness, this collection of football novellas hit the spot! Touchdown for all 4!! You get swoon, heartfelt moments, angst, banter and so much more! These men were sizzling hot and their leading ladies brought them to their knees! I have a favorite, or two, or three or maybe even four hahaha. I loved them all for different reasons, but one couple really hit me in the feels and pretty much intercepted the story from the others. They ran away with my heart.
Love off the Field by Cala Riley is a collection of four, interconnected sports novellas - all about 100 pages each. I really enjoyed all of them! Super entertaining and with characters you care about as they work their way through the difficulties of navigating their relationships - whether they're new or ones that just need a little boost. Cute and smexy reads with relatively low angst ❤️.
1) Personal Foul Story: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Trope: second chance, reformed playboy Angst: 😱😱 Smexy: 🔥🔥🔥

This was a nice collection of 4 novellas combined into 1 book.
I enjoyed each of the stories with a HEA! 😍 Each was very different. It didn't feel like you were hearing the same story with different character names interchanged. ❤️
I loved feeling the feelings along with all of the characters. (The last story did me in UGH I loved it 💔❤️🔥)
Thank you authors Cala Riley for this ARC copy received in a giveaway! I will definitely be reading more of your stories! 😊 🥰
I like sports romances but have never gone gaga over them. But y’all, this was a wonderful, well written and absolutely delicious collection of football romances that dominated a full day of mine. And at the end, if asked to choose, I honestly wouldn’t be able to. They were all fabulously done and so utterly romantic. Each couple ruled their story and made it their own. Each story was unique and had me feeling all the feels. Every last one.
If you are looking for a quick read (or 4) that have 4 amazing men doing whatever it takes to win their equally (if not more) amazing women, you found it in this collection. Yup. Simply amazing. 5 Stars!!
This is an amazing collection of four romance stories which are all interconnected. We have four alphas, and the unique women who brought them to their knees. This is a well written collection, which has second chances, humor, witty banter, friendships, emotions, angst, drama, and love, which all leads to an entertaining and heartfelt page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
This collection of sports novellas gives you a little of everything. Four couples that navigate their relationships and entertain us with romance and passion. The characters are all wonderful and steal your heart easily however Liam and Ava might just be my favourite. The storylines even though fast paced tick all the boxes.
This collection of stories is a sports romance readers dream, four dreamy football stars to fall for and four perfectly penned stories packed with everything necessary to leave your heart happy! They had every bit of my heart the moment they wandered onto the page, I loved them all! Highly recommend you get your hands on this collection, I promise you won't be disappointed with what you find waiting for you between the pages!
Personal Foul:
Garrett "Tank" Stone is best known for being a beast on the field and a little too wild off of it, many nights spent out on the town drinking and taking home countless women. But he is a change man now. His reputation had gotten so bad that his team no longer trusted him to have their backs on the field and the owner was tired of trying to cover up all his mistakes, so they traded him. Now he finds himself with a new team, in a new city, and one step closer to the one woman who has always found a way to tempt him.
Now he just has to figure out how to convince her that he has changed and is worthy of a shot...
Personal Foul is a steamy, fast paced little page-turner that will capture your attention from the first page and hold it intently until the last. These characters bring lots of humor, feels, and steam to the pages, and are so darn easy to become attached to. I loved watching them maneuver through uncharted territory and discover their new normal. Neither had really traveled down the love road before, so there were many ups and downs for them to figure out, and things to learn, but they did it together and didn't give up when it got too hard. It was such a beautiful love story!! This perfectly penned tale and it's wonderfully crafted characters are bound to steal your heart and keep you thoroughly entertained! Highly recommend!
Fumbled:
Jude and Ivy start out on solo vacations, both needing a break from their busy lives... but then they bump into one another and it's solo no more! They find an instant connection, agreeing to a little vacation fling. Enjoying each other's company, going to dinner, lounging on the beach, and spending their nights tangled up in the sheets... it's the perfect getaway. But when it comes time to go their separate ways and return to their lives neither is ready to say goodbye.
Fumbled is sultry little page turner that is bound to have you swooning from the first page to the last! These two find instant chemistry on the sandy beaches of paradise and try to carry on normally after their blissful week ends, but it's their hearts that have them breaking that original agreement. They knew the day they said goodbye that they were making a mistake, but they weren't sure what they shared could withstand the restraints of long distance love. After weighing the odds they decide to go for it and see where it takes them. But with Jude's high profile life and constantly being sought after by every available woman, things hit a little rough patch. From beginning to end this one kept me thoroughly entertained, the intense drama, the sweet romance, and of course the steamy bits too... it scored serious points with me all the way around! Highly recommend!
Hail Mary:
Theo is known as the troublemaker of the team, if there is trouble brewing he is usually at the center of it. After his last bout of trouble his coach has had enough and has issued an ultimatum, clean up your image or your done. That's not all of it either... he also is assigned a babysitter, a very beautiful and tempting babysitter. One that will be living with him for the next few months and making sure he keeps himself out of trouble. Which at first he dreads, but the more time they spend with one another the more he starts to realize she might just be the best kind of trouble for him.
These two were a lot of fun to read about, they had me smiling the whole way through. Theo and Cameron tried to keep their feelings at bay and stick the coach's rules, but the temptation became too great. I loved watching them try to keep their hands to themselves and torture one another at every turn! Another outstanding love story from the author!!
Blind Side:
Liam and Ava have spent most of their teenage years together, it seemed as if it was destiny that their future would be spent together, but as of late things aren't appearing that way. Their lives are taking them in different directions and pulling them farther apart, and now their marriage is feeling strained. Ava feels like she needs a break, needs to clear her head and see if this is the future she still wants... and it's the perfect wake up call for Liam. He can't let the woman he loves slip away...
These two really tortured my heart, it was evident they belonged with one another, but life had gotten in the way and put space between them. I loved watching Liam try to win her back, he put everything he had into getting her back. It wasn't an easy task, as they had a lot to sort out, but eventually things went his way. Such a beautifully penned second chance love story!
I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased opinion.
Wow! This story was an amazing jumpstart to this collection of novellas, Love off the Field. These are all football sports romance. This was an enemies to lovers trope. Reagan and Garret knew one another from college, now meeting again when Garret comes and plays football for the team Reagan works for. He’s always had a thing for her but she has always shot him down. Now that he’s around her every day, he’s got a second chance and he’s determined to make her his. I loved this story. It was funny and the spice was perfect. It was short, sweet and fun and got me hooked and ready to binge the next three!!
𝕗𝕦𝕞𝕓𝕝𝕖𝕕
Oh my Gosh, this couple. This story was a bit more heavy, but omg was it amazing. Ivy and Jude meet in Miami when vacationing solo, and decide to hook up the week they’re together, then leave and move on with their lives. Once they are back home, they can’t stop thinking of one another and the connection they had. Jude left things in Ivy’s court when she left, leaving his phone number with her. When she gets a sign, she contacts him and they fall back into what they had begun on vacation, only with many obstacles living across country from one another. I loved Ivy, she was bold, flirty, assertive and fun! Jude was kind, sweet and respectful. The two of them were absolute FIRE. If you’re single, your expectations are going to raise, because you’re going to be looking for your own Jude!

Ok, well I was waiting for it. These two, Theo and Cameron, my favorite couple. Theo is on the football team with the other guys in this collection of stories, and he generally is always finding himself in some sort of trouble. After this last time, he’s given one last chance, and he is assigned Cameron, who works for the team, to move in and “baby-sit” him for a period of time to keep him out of trouble. He’s always had a thing for her, but she’s made it known she will never date any of the men on the team, especially a “playboy” like him. When she moves in with him, she sees a different side of him, and she realizes he’s not so bad after all. He also sees that she brings out a different, better Side of him he didn’t know existed. I absolutely love these two together. There is so much chemistry and true feelings for one another, I fell in love. I loved that none of it was planned or expected and they fell for one another organically. Another fantastic addition to this collection of novellas !
𝕓𝕝𝕚𝕟𝕕 𝕤𝕚𝕕𝕖
Oh Liam and Ava. These two broke my heart. They’ve been together since they were 14, together 15 years. Liam plays football, and it’s consumed their life forever. Ava has been feeling like the two of them have grown apart, and don’t do anything as a couple anymore, everything being centered around his career. When she talks to Liam and decides she needs a break, his eyes open to the reality facing him. Liam is still madly in love with her, and refuses to let their marriage fail. This is a sports romance, but tells an emotional story about two people in love, reclaiming what they had before Liam’s career took over their marriage. These two dug into my heart. I was so sad for the two of them as they were hurting and struggling. This author duo brings the emotions, heat and an amazing story.
All four of these novellas were fantastic. Each couple making it amazing in their own ways. It’s so hard to pick a favorite one when they each tell such an addicting story of their own. This author duo is always a one click 5 star read for me, and this one was so different. Absolutely loved!! I received a copy of this arc in exchange for my honest review. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
In this collection of short stories, we have some amazing sports steam and romance. Each story has those sexy, cocky players who finds a woman that brings them to their knees so let’s begin…. Personal Foul: Reagan knew Garrett Stone in college and what she knew of him hasn’t changed much through the years. Garrett has been traded to a new team and while things feel kind of gloom and doom the one Brightside, he sees is he has another shot with the girl that made him think twice about relationships. As the tension heats up and now matter how much Reagan refuses his advances their chemistry is too much. I wasn’t a fan of how she threw his past in his face when she was upset because I understand her being scared and overreacting but to use someone’s pain that way is just wrong on many levels no matter the situation especially when something was an accident, and that person is changing who they were. Fumbled: Ivy and Jude have a one night that turns into one week. They find themselves running into each other and continuing this vacation fling as a thing, but feelings get involved. They both knew that something deep was happening, but a long-distance relationship is not easy, and it kills them to walk away. Things aren’t easy for this couple, but you’ll have to see how things work out for them. Hail Mary: As the troublemaker of his team Theo must clean up his act or his career is over. The team hires a babysitter she is to live with him, make sure he stays out of trouble, and he knows he can’t cross that line with her. These two were fun because they constantly kept trying to fight their feelings, but sometimes temptation is way too much. Blind Side: This one was emotional and had me a mess. Liam and Ava have been together since they were teenagers and they also knew they were it for each other, yet lately life is taking them both in different directions. As things keep becoming more tense and Ava feels like she needs to take a breather this ultimately helps Liam realize if something doesn’t change, he could lose the woman he has always loved. The pain and heartache these two felt I felt too, and I hated they struggled but it made the story real. Loved it!! A collection of some amazing and heartfelt short stories that will leave you craving more, but happy with how they all work out. Each story is unique, and I loved them all
Love off the field This book has 4 quick reads that were extremely entertaining with really fun characters. Below is my individual review for each book. Personal foul 🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈 Garrett is a professional football player who is on a new team. He is pleasantly surprised when he sees the girl he liked in college….she never gave him a chance in college but will she now? Reagan works her butt off and her family is extremely important to her. She has no time for Garrett, or does she? This was an adorable quick read. These two had their challenges but had undeniable chemistry and a great connection. I really enjoyed this book. Fumbled 🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈 Ivy and Jude met on vacation and had a wonderful week together. It was supposed to be one week and that’s it. But when the vacation was over these two couldn’t stop thinking about each other. Can this professional football player and fight attendant make it work? Do they have a real shot? This was a great read with fun characters. Ivy and Jude had great banter and fun chemistry. This was a good quick read. Hail Mary 🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈 Theo is a professional football player with some emotional baggage that bring out his self destructive side. When he gets himself in more trouble he gets a PR babysitter. Cam is not happy that she has to move in and keep any eye on Theo. What is worse then having to spend a lot of time with a man that you are attracted to. The more time they spend together the better they get to know each other. Theo is definitely not who Cam thought he was. This was another great quick read in this fun book. I really enjoyed the banter and characters in this story. I really like Theo and his personality. Blind Side 🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈 Ava and Liam have been together since 8th grade. Madly in love and living the dream….or are they? Liam is happy playing professional football and living his life. Ava wants the passion back. Ava feels like they lost theirselves a little. Can they get it back to where it once was? Are they ready for children and the real happily ever after? This was cute and had great depth. They loved each other deeply they just needed to realize it for themselves. I really enjoyed these four amazing stories and look forward to reading more books by this author.
Love Off The Field collection by Cala Riley is a must read for every sports romance lover. It is the perfect blend of adrenaline rush, crazy chemistry and deep emotions. Featuring a variety of love stories with some drool worthy swoonworthy heroes and some fierce heroines, this collection was simply unputdownable. . Personal Foul is a sizzling hot second chance romance between star offensive lineman Garrett Stone and his team's sassy recruit coordinator Reagan Kelly. They had some bittersweet moments in college but Garrett is determined to win her over. They have some witty hot banter followed by amazing chemistry. I loved every second of their whirlwind romance.
Fumbled is the steamy and heartaching story of how Jusee and Ivy found true love from a vacation fling. Jude is everything. He is swoony and sizzling hot and just adorable. He was all in but even then mistakes happen. Ivy is sweet and fierce. They had to face a lot of obstacles but ultimately their love won.
My favourite is definitely Hail Mary. Seattle Football organisation's PR guru Cameron Hart is given the task to keep watch on their badboy Theo Finch after he makes another massive mistake to tarnish the team's reputation. But she soon realises that he has so many layers. My heart sings and breaks for our misunderstood playboy. It was a sexy enemies to lovers one with complex emotions. I loved how Cameron cheered and supported Theo and he definitely opened his heart for his beautiful woman. They are an epic couple.
Blind Side is an unexpected kind of second chance romance of star quarterback Liam Jenkins and his wife Ava. They have been in love since high school and they married early too. But all those years of sports and fame has somehow pushed them apart. And Liam realises it only when Ava has a breakdown and escapes to their hometown cabin. It was a bit angsty and full of feels. Ava and Liam's love was not at question but they had to work through their sadness, anger and misunderstandings.
Love Off the Field is a collection of four sports romance novellas. Some of the tropes included are: enemies to lovers, friends to lovers, one night stands, insta-lust, second chance, and many others.
Personal Foul - Reagan and Garrett are featured in this enemies to lovers and reverse grumpy/sunshine novella. Reagan is considered an ice queen to everyone but her family. Garret refuses to back down or cower to her and the thick walls she placed around herself. While Reagan took a minute for me to warm up to, I loved Garret and how we never had to question his devotion to Reagan.
Fumbled - Ivy and Jude feature in this one night stand turned more novella. Ivy and Jude spend a week together with promises that it means nothing. However, the connection they forged couldn’t be ignore, and these two found themselves involved in a long distance relationship. I loved how Ivy and Jude honestly felt like soul mates - there was no questioning their connection.
Hail Mary - Theo and Cam feature in this enemies to lovers, workplace romance novella. Theo is your playboy who presents one carefree façade to the world while he hides away his hurting, vulnerable true self. Cam is one of the only people to believe Theo has my worth than his skills out on the football team. I loved how much she supported him and never gave up on him once she saw past his mask.
Blindside - Liam and Ava are a married couple featured in this second chance novella. I loved Ava from page 1, and my heart hurt for her and everything she was silently going through. Liam was briefly blinded by football and his commitments to the team, and failed to see how unhappy Ava was. But by the end, Liam definitely proved himself worthy in my opinion. I loved Ava and Liam, and seeing them rebuild their connection.
'Personal Foul' is set in the world of the Seattle Seahawks where Garrett "Tank" Stone has just been drafted from New England. Rumour is it has something to do with the injury that ended his quarterbacks career. Tank was known as play hard on and off the pitch type of guy. Being reunited with Regan the girl from college that turned him down is an interesting development. Working in a mans world even though she knows more than most is difficult being reunited with Garrett is not going to be easy especially with the smouldering chemistry between the two lets hope that Reagan can see this as more than a itch to scratch!
Next up is Fumbled Ivy and Jade both meet when on separate breaks alone. The attraction is instant, the days full of fun and the nights hot. They don't exchange last names, this is meant to be a holiday fling. But fate had other ideas, although living on different sides of the country doesn't make it easy but as they say 'love will find a way'. This is a really great quick read, but be prepared you will need a tissue!
Hail Mary is Cam and Theo and this is a great ramping up of these sports stories, not sure where to beginning with Theo he just can’t help but get his self into trouble poor Cam not easy to be in PR with a guy like Theo, but again these author has given us great chemistry is a great book
And finally and I wont say we left the best until last, but Cala Reily did in did leave the best to last with a different twist, Ava and Liam have been together since teenagers and are husband and wife, what makes this story unique it how we see Ava come into her own and out of the shadow of her husband, and for both of them it is rekindling that love.
Loved all these couples so much I am a huge fan of Cala Riley they never disappoint!
Love off the Field Collection by @author.cala.riley This is a collection of 4 super quick novellas featuring four offensive football players and the ladies who have capture their hearts.
Personal Foul: Garrett and Reagan are old college acquaintances and Garrett desperately wants to change that cause he knows he sees a future with Reagan. Reagan has reasons to be hesitant to peruse anything more than a causal arrangement with Garrett. Can he change her mind and show her that he’s in, all in in every way?
Fumbled: What was supposed to be a vacation fling turned into late night phone calls and daily texts between Ivy and Jude. Though they were long distance they took the time to get to know each other but what happens when the distance becomes too much?
Hail Mary: Theo is the team’s bad boy and he finally got himself into enough trouble that it’s one more wrong move and he’s out. In comes Cam to keep an eye on him and very slowly over TV dinners and history documentaries, Cam realizes what she thought she knew about Theo was all wrong.
Blind Side: Ava and Liam have been married for years but have recently hit a rough patch. Ava is tired of feeling like she comes second to football but hasn’t communicated that to Liam. Liam has been so focused on football that he’s missed all the signs. Can they learn to communicate to each other and reignite the love they still share for each other?
Thank you @greyspromo and @author.cala.riley for this eARC in exchange for my honest feedback.
If you've been looking for a sports romance look no further because Cala Riley has compiled 4 Football Novellas in their newest release, 𝐋𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐎𝐟𝐟 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐢𝐞𝐥𝐝.
Available on 𝐊𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐥𝐞 𝐔𝐧𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐝!
My favorite of the 4 Novellas was Blind Side with Fumbled coming in as a close second!
🏈𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐅𝐨𝐮𝐥 Raegan is a single mom and a main recruiter for the team and when the former playboy star, Garrett Stone, that is traded to them shows up for his first day she wonders if a past fling from college days is coming back to haunt her.
🏈𝐅𝐮𝐦𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐝 Ivy is a busy flight attendant on a solo vacation when she meets a handsome stranger and they agree to no strings attached for the week. Once they go their seperate ways though will they ever see each other again and is her Jude the same Jude Taylor of a professional sports team?
🏈𝐇𝐚𝐢𝐥 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐲 Cameron is PR for the team & Theo Finch is the team hype man, goofball and a PRs every nightmare. When his last stunt goes majorly wrong she's assigned to babysit him to get him on the good side of the media and staff again. She knows his stunts are just a cover to hide whatever he's hiding deep down. And she knows to get there she's gonna have to fall and hard.
🏈𝐁𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐢𝐝𝐞 Ava & Liam have been together since 8th grade. Their goals and happiness were always aligned until recently. They've both pulled away and lost sight of each other. Can a few weeks together at their rustic cabin help them to talk to one another, fix their issues and get back to being the happy couple they used to be?
If you love steamy sports romance books this series is definitely for you. This set contains 4 novellas following 4 different players from the same football team.
I enjoy Novellas but often feel like I don't quite get enough of a story line but that is definitely not the case here. You get 4 different stories but see characters from each book throughout. I honestly loved both main characters in all 4 books. The men were crazy hot football players but so much more than just that. Each man ended up with a woman who was absolutely perfect for them. The stories were filled with great storylines and enough chemistry, heat and steam to keep you turning the page non-stop.
I loved all of the books but have to say that the final story, Ava and Liam was my absolute favorite. They are already married throughout the series but not everything was perfect. When Ava leaves Liam feeling like she is an afterthought to him boy do his eyes open. I loved seeing him realize what was truly important in his life and them working together to save their marriage.
Love Off the Field Collection is a 4 novellas in one!
This collection gives you a little of everything (angst, humor, hot chemistry, reformed playboys, second chances, etc.). Each story, you meet four couples that are navigating their relationships and entertain us with romance and passion.

If you enjoy sports romance, especially when that sport is football, Cala Riley's Love Off the Field Collection is a must-read. I'll be honest, I'm not a big football fan. I don't even know that much about the game. But there's just something about the big, tough football player turning out to be not quite so tough when it comes to love. I just love it when they fall head over heels, and the object of their affection isn't so easily swayed. Needless to say, I wanted to read this collection from the moment I saw it. The book gives us 4 romances with 4 different couples, and the novellas are interconnected, so we get to see how these guys interact off the field and how much they share about their romances. This is my first time reading the work of Cala Riley, and I really enjoyed each novella. I sometimes struggle with getting into a novella. Too often, I feel like I need more to really enjoy the story, but these are very well done, and they pulled me in from the beginning. The stories are the right length to read each on a different day when you're short on time or binge-read the whole thing over the weekend. Either way, they're all engaging and there's no shortage on feels.
RECOMMENDED for those that like: shorter stories / sports- football / second chance, close proximity, marriage on the rocks
First my usual points: - I do not do spoilers unless warned. - Read the summary above; it will tell you what the book is about. Star Ratings - 1 (poor) - 5(READ THIS BOOK) • Writing Quality: 5 stars • Story ingredient: 5 stars • Ease of reading/Pace: 5 stars • Plot strength: 5 stars • Steam Level 4 stars with a lot of romance
Notes/Opinion (personal): Three interconnected stories of pro football players. Stories revolve around second chance, close proximity and marriage in trouble. Because they are rare, may favorite of the three was the final book, which did a wonderful job of showing how a happy marriage gets off track and how it finds the track again. All were about 2-3 hour reads for me. Very enjoyable.
Cala Riley gives us four terrific football stories that will have you wanting more. Each novella focuses on one player on a Seattle football team.
Personal Foul - Garret finds the girl. Reagan, whom he went to school with but he was a player. Now he is determined to get the only girl that has him wanting to settle down. The sparks fly and things heat up.
Fumbled - Jude needs to get away for a vacation and he meets Ivy, a beautiful lady on vacation as well. Their one night turns into a week of pure fun and streamy times. Will they be able to go their own ways or is there a pull that has them wanting more of one another?
Hail Mary - Theo is in hot water due to a clothingless situation. Will the team help him turn himself around? Well when Cam, the team's PR girl is voluntold to keep him out of trouble, will they create their own trouble?
Blind Sided - Liam and Ave have been together since they were young. Got married at an early age but is everything all roses and rainbows? Well. Liam finds out that Ava is not happy, not feeling loved or even wanted. How will he fix this?
I love sports romances and when you add four hot and sexy men it gets even better.
THE REVIEW FOR THE BOOK: Love Off The Field GENRE: Contemporary Romance AUTHOR: Cala Riley TROPE: contemporary romance, sport romance TYPE: Love Off The Field Collection (4 novellas) MY RATING: 5.0 Stars POV: Dual POV
This is a collection of four different novellas each containing different couples. Each book is about 100 pages and is a quick and easy read. These are sports romance stories that focus on different romance tropes.
I loved the fact that each story had different elements to it. My favorite couple was Ava and Liam. Loved seeing a couple that had been together for a long time and needed to find romance and passion again in their relationship. We always read stories about people falling in love. What about those that have been together a long time and have lost the passion in their relationship? Was heartwarming to read their story.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I already LOVED LOVED LOVED this dynamic duo so much, but they just leveled up with the Love Off the Field Collection with four stories about some football players, and football is life in my life so seriously, utter perfection. We get single parents, one night stands, playboys who turned it around, and of course the amazing second chance. There's a ton of emotional goodness in these pages, heat, witty banter, humor, heartwarming moments, and of course football (I'll repeat football is life). I loved every minute of this collection so it was super easy to devour in one sitting as it's quite the page turner & one that I'll revisit over & over again as it will totally get me over the offseason hump when I don't know what to do with myself LOL! Everyone needs this collection in their lives so now it's your turn to experience all the goodness for yourselves by hitting those one click buttons! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
I was so excited for this collection! I truly enjoy reading this author and I loved all of the stories!
🏈 Personal Foul 🏈
I loved Garrett, Reagan and Nick in this story. I loved how each was not afraid to tell it like it is. My heart sunk when the drama happened but luckily everything worked out.
🏈 Fumbled 🏈
Jude and Ivy cracked me up. I loved how much chemistry they had and that they were willing to take a chance. I will say that this story straight up had me crying my heart out.
🏈 Hail Mary 🏈
Theo and Cameron were definitely the couple that I hoped to see. There was a definite side of Theo that no one ever saw. I loved this couple!
🏈 Blind Side 🏈
Ava and Liam were already an established couple. I love seeing when you have to work for your marriage. Life is not always sunshine and roses and this truly felt like real life. Liam got his out of himself so fast and that was just awesome to see.
This collection of novellas is a good one for the most part. They are quick easy reads in which the first two stories concerning Garrett & Reagan and Jude & Ivy go from zero to sixty quite quickly as these two couples fall hard and fast for one another. Those two had little angst but plenty of steam.
The last two stories concerning Theo & Cam and Liam & Ava had a bit more intensity as there are more serious issues that need to be overcome before true happiness can be achieved. But, once again, the steam factor is huge and combined with more heartfelt emotions, these two stories were my faves of the group.
Cala Riley has been a new go-to author for me and I have enjoyed getting to savor this author's work. This Love Off the Field Collection was a nice read for me as the days of summer have begun to wind down and made a lazy Sunday that much more enjoyable.
If you love quick reads, novellas, and sport romances then this is a book for you. The Love Off the Field Collection is exactly that. It is a collection for 4 sport novellas (Personal Foul, Fumbled, Hail Mary, and Blind Side) featuring the members of the Seattle NFL football team and their fiery independent love interests. Each book is short, sweet, and just a hint of spice. There's enemies-to-lovers, vacation flings, single parents, second chances, and reformed players. There is something in this collection for everyone.
While I wish these stories were longer full-length stories, author Cala Riley gives her readers a taste at what she could do the fan favorite trope, sport romance. Each of her novellas in this collection are wonderfully unique. I hope that she does more in the sports area of romance.
