Sophie Turner takes a job on the Coultrane Ranch seeking a change to escape the memories of her daughter. She doesn’t expect to find the diversion she needs in her new employer’s rough possession or for his control to ease her pain for short periods.
For close to a year, Adrian Coultrane’s sole focus has been on discovering which of his closest friends is responsible for his wife’s death. He doesn’t want to be drawn to ease the pain in Sophie’s eyes or let her needs distract him from his goal of getting redemption for Nicole.
When Sophie is threatened by someone in his household, he’s determined to keep her safe, but will he be able to save her in time from an unsuspecting enemy? Culminating in a life or death ending, Adrian will have to set aside his own shock and grief from betrayal to force Sophie to choose between succumbing to her heartbreak or embracing the new life he offers.
Author’s Note: In writing Redeemer, I chose to revisit a plot I used in an older, now unavailable title. For those who read Pendelton Manor, you might recognize the similarities between the two books.
I live in the Midwest with my husband and two dogs, enjoy spending time with my daughter, babysitting her two dogs, reading and working puzzles. We have traveled extensively, but I much prefer being a homebody.
I began writing erotic novels with an emphasis on erotic spanking five years ago never dreaming that I would get published. I just celebrated the release of my eleventh title and am very thankful to my publisher, Pink Flamingo, for taking a chance on me and giving me the opportunity to enjoy a fun career. While my earlier books lean more towards straight erotica that will appeal to only a very select audience, my last five books are erotic romances. I enjoy hearing all comments from readers. Sophie is recovering from her infant daughter’s death and Adrian is trying to figure out which one of his closest friends betrayed him with his late wife. Will the pair of them be able to overcome their grief and distrust to discover what they could have together or are the shadows of the past to powerful? I seem to be on an extra angsty kick at the moment, and this one was almost too much for me. There’s so much emotional turmoil within this group of characters and it made my heart pinch to see all the pain that was being caused. I thought Sophie and Adrian made an interesting pairing with her complete lack of knowledge of the Lifestyle, but that they possibly connected better because of it. I loved seeing my favorite couples from the previous books and the mystery kept me guessing until the very end. I’m not sure what the author plans, but I really hope that this wasn’t our last trip into Mountain Bend. I received a complimentary copy of this book through Booksprout.
What a great addition to this new series, Doms of Mountain Bend. There are several authors who I read everything they write, and Ms. BJ Wane is one of them. She has a way of bringing life to her characters, emotions, and interactions while writing a mystery, suspense with romance. Add in dominant men, smart but feisty females, a touch of danger, a healthy dose of eroticism within a relationship, add in the spice of BDSM scenes, and you get a perfect blend within a story. In this latest story, there will be a murder mystery that will be solved at the end.
Adrian Coultrane will advertise for a live-in housekeeper that Sophie Turner will apply for and be hired. She needs to get away from New Orleans and the haunting memories of her loss. Hoping that a new location near Mountain Bend, Idaho, will help ease her pain. She doesn't know that Adrain lost his wife, Nicole, around the same time. He is a bitter, angry man searching for her killer—but not by a stranger, but by either family or close friends. The animosity is thick and has dramatically affected this tight group of friends.
The story's plot is full of pain and heartache, anger and mistrust, and obsession with finding answers. When Sophie leaves her life in Louisana and drives to Idaho, she hopes to find comfort and peace. She arrives during a heavy thunderstorm and walks in on a ménage scene, shocked but can't stop watching. Then her new boss is abrasive and angry, and she questions whether her move was a wise decision.
The story has the good, the bad, and the ugly of people and life. For Sophie, her loss is weighing her down in grief, and she hopes the change will help her heart heal. For Adrian, it was terrible enough to learn his wife was unfaithful, but her death wasn't an accident. That leaves the people he calls family and friends as the prime suspects. Sophie is a good fit for his household, cleaning and cooking dinner, but she avoids social interaction with them. Her fear of storms has her running to Adrian for protection, leading to more. Once these two stop dancing around the sexual chemistry, they embrace pleasure in each other's arms.
Sophie: Would you make up your mind? Your mood swings are driving me crazy. Adrian: Good, because you're driving me crazy. It's time I introduced you to something other than my bed, like my favorite bench in the playroom. How's that for making up my mind?
The story will keep the pages turning as it unfolds, with new connections and experiences, a mystery with a touch of danger and suspense, and so many uncertainties and unanswered questions. I love a good story that keeps you guessing as the story unfolds. The story has a great cast of characters, plenty of angst, and things that make you think about who the culprit could be. The story has lots of emotions, issues, passion, and a budding romance. The unknown and distrust of people you grew up with leaves bitterness amongst friends, and hopefully, the truth will set them free and lead to healing.
'Redeemer' is Bj Wane's sixth book in her "Doms of Mountain Bend" series and this is one kinky, emotionally packed mystery. The storyline opens up with Sophie getting ready to leave New Orleans, Louisiana for Mountain Bend, Idaho. Talk about a culture shock in the making, right? But, needs must as Sophie's eighteen-month-old daughter had died and she, quite frankly, can't get past her grief or depression. So, leaving her position as the Assistant Manager of a Bed and Breakfast, she has taken the job as a housekeeper/occasional cook on a horse ranch. Maybe the change of scenery will help. But she wasn't prepared for walking into the mansion and witnessing a ménage still in action. Nor was she prepared for her reaction. Adrian has his own demons he's fighting. His father and Uncle had passed away leaving the Coultrane ranch and assets to both himself and his cousin Ashe, although, Adrian held the controlling interest. Then he'd taken his friendship of more than fifteen years with Nicole further and they married. Not only did the marriage die but they lost the friendship as well when he confronted her about her infidelity and she confirmed it by announcing it was with someone he cared about. Now top that off with Adrian going to the attorney, drawing up divorce papers, and coming home to find she had fallen off the edge of a cliff on one of the paths on the ranch. It was ruled an accidental death but Adrian knows better. Nicole had hiked every trail on the ranch since they were kids. She wasn't careless or accident-prone. Too many things didn't add up. One of his friends that were continually at the ranch had murdered her and it was eating him up. Nicole deserved a lot of things, but that wasn't one of them. Bj Wane had given us a plethora of emotions while taking us on this emotional journey with both our Hero and heroine. Even the side characters have a way of pulling an emotional chord here and there. This was an epic story!

Redeemer is the sixth book in the Doms of Mountain Bend series, but could be read as a stand alone. Sophie is traveling to a new state to leave behind painful memories, but she realizes very quickly that she’s walking into more than just a new job. Between navigating tense relationships, trying to fit in, and lusting after her boss, Adrian, Sophie has a few distractions. Add in a dash of danger and a mystery, will she survive long enough to give her budding love a chance?
Sophie and Adrian’s romance absolutely captivated me. There was so much angst, so much pain that both of them needed to overcome and learn to heal together, but I also loved the curiosity, and the passion that developed between both of them. Sophie just wanted to feel something other than pain and loss, so I loved that she ran to Adrian’s arms to find that distraction that eventually leads to healing. I liked that she wasn’t afraid of exploring her needs and desires, and I liked that she wanted to find a place to fit in. Adrian had his own battles to fight internally, being so insistent that one of his friends committed the ultimate betrayal, so I liked that he found peace with Sophie. Neither one particularly wanted their passion, but they fit together so perfectly. This book gave me shivers in the best of ways, I loved that I was often on the edge of my seat, wondering what would happen next. I think Ms. Wane did a fantastic job of weaving tension into the story, and I really enjoyed the ending! This has been a fantastic series so far and I loved this addition!
This is the first book I have read in this series. I have read the author's work before, so I wasn't surprised at this being a good read.
I really felt for Sophie having gone through the trauma of her losses. I could completely understand her wanting to get out of her head. I was impressed the way she handled her first experience at the Coltrane Ranch.
I was equally impressed with the calm she exhibited in handling Adrian's hot and cold temperament. I thought it was awesome the way Sophie embraced new experiences. Also, for all of Adrian's pig headed determination, I appreciated the way he treated Sophie. The care and consideration he took with her.
The mystery grabbed my attention from the beginning. I had a suspect for a minute, and was so far off it was funny. When the truth finally came out, it was so unexpected. At least it was unexpected to me, lol.
I am not going to lie. I did experience some frustration with Adrian's constant attitude of accusations among his friends. It really did get to be tiring, but it also gave me a more realistic feeling as to how Ashe, Wyatt, Nora, Jesse, and Rachel felt. I was glad Adrian and Sophie got their HEA. I think I will start reading the series from book 1 now.
An entertaining romantic suspense with elements of BDSM. The loss of a young child's is discussed, so this may be a trigger for some.
I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy of this book received via Booksprout.
This was a riveting, emotional and action filled read I thoroughly enjoyed
This story was so well written and I guarantee that once you begin reading you ill find it simply impossible to put down until you discover the final outcome. Adrian Coltrane’s wife Nicole had fallen off a cliff on his ranch right after he had filed for divorce, he is convinced that one of his five friends is responsible for her death but he has to treat carefully and investigate softly, softly.
Sophie Turner is a woman that has lived through hell after the death of her young daughter to cancer and she started working at the ranch as the housekeeper, kit has been an escape for her from her memories and the continual pain she lives with every day.
Adrian is a man with a natural protective nature and this leads to his Dom nature raising his head at times, Sophie finds this aspect of him to be interesting and it seems to help her cope with her own grief.
assure you that you will love every moment of this book it is simply a fantastic read. I voluntarily received and review an Advanced Reader Copy I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.

Right from the Prologue, which sets up the plot(s) and really hooks the reader, thru to and including the Epilogue this book was impossible to put down! A fair bit of warning here, the death of an infant child is central to the plot and may be a trigger. Proceed with caution. Sophie is trying to come to grips with her grief over the death of her daughter Kasey and decides the best course of action is to take a job as a housekeeper, far away from her current life. She is hired by Adrian Coultrane, who is also trying to come to grips with the untimely death of his wife Nicole. Two very distressed people, one steeped in grief the other angrily obsessed with finding out who may have betrayed him, who surprisingly find an attraction to each other. Both try to bury their feelings for the other but cannot overcome their need to commiserate and heal. The plot is complicated, filled with angst and anxiety, but oh so engrossing. One of BJ’s best emotionally charged stories ever! 5 Stars I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is the latest book in the Doms of Mountain Bend series and since I've only read book 1 and now book 6, I can say that Redeemer can be read and enjoyed as a standalone read. Yes, characters from the other books are involved but never to such a degree that you can't follow the storyline. There is a constant theme of death and grief throughout this book which made for some heartbreaking scenes, particularly with Sophie. There is also the theme of redemption - Sophie redeeming Adrian and vice versa. If this was the extent then it would have made for a much stronger read, but it also delved into the manner of Adrian's wife's death and who was involved. While I liked this storyline, it did distract me since I didn't particularly like Adrian when interacting with his friends. This was an easy read for a few hours and while I liked the relationship between Adrian and Sophie, perhaps having the book a bit longer would have enabled the relationship to progress a bit smoother, instead of seeming to leap from dislike to like to love in sudden bounds.
Redeemer is the sixth installment in BJ Wane’s Doms of Mountain Bend series. In it she chronicles the romantic journey of Sophie Turner and Adrian Coultraine. As a single woman morning the loss of her 18-month-old baby girl, Kasey, she moves to Mountain Bend to work for Adrian Coultraine. Adrian knows the heavy burden of grief as he lost his wife when she died from a tragic fall. Despite the fact that he was estranged from her, Adrian feels there is something nefarious about her death after discovering she was unfaithful with one of his friends. Both Sophie and Adrian are attracted to each other. Will they succumb to their feelings? Does Sophie get over her grief? Does Adrian discover who was responsible for his wife’s death? To discover what happened, you must read this book.
Ms. Wane captures her readers attention from the get-go with this contemporary romance. This book is a captivating read as it captures the magnetism of true love. She possesses a remarkable skill for creating diverse and appealing characters, who can be strong and independent, yet vulnerable. The main characters have chemistry between them. This book is beautifully written with great dialog, a dual POV, and descriptive scenes that lends credibility to this HEA romance.
So, I thought her 5th book in this series was the best until she released Redeemer. This book was absolutely awesome, we get two people working through their grief and trying to find out who the murderer is together. I absolutely love how she went back and intertwined it with the rest of the books and all the other characters I wasn't sure how she was going to do it, but I loved how it was done. The HEAT, so much HEAT, so good. This was definitely a different type of story from the norm but so good.
Their group is close-knit and has been since day one Adrian decided to marry Nicole found out she was cheating on him filed divorce papers and then all of a sudden she ends up dead off a cliff that she's been hiking on since she could walk. So tell me how that happens? Murder that's how that happens. Adrian's trying to get through his grief but not loss for Nicole and wants to find justice for her and suspects one of his closet friends. Sophie takes a job as maid at his mansion to try to get on with her life after her baby girl died from a brain tumor. Sophie starts getting close to Adrian, so someone starts trying to scare her off the ranch. It'll be a complete surprise too as to who the murdered Nicole.
Sophie Turner lost her 18 month old daughter to a brain tumor. She fell into a debilitating depression. With no family left to keep her in New Orleans, she accepts a job as a housekeeper/cook on a ranch in Boise, Idaho.
Adrian Coultrane lost his estranged wife and deeply believes one of his family/friends is responsible for her death. He has become bitter and angry. He and his cousin Ashe inherited their fathers' ranch and are very well off, though close as youngsters they now have a strained relationship.
Adrian introduces Sophie to the lifestyle and it helps her with her depression. Their relationship develops, he finds out who killed his wife and they get their HEA.

Sophie is at the Coultrane Ranch looking for a fresh start. Devastated by the loss of her baby daughter, with no family left, she leaves New Orleans for Idaho for the positions of housekeeper and cook at the ranch. Adrian is angry after the death of his wife, and truly believes she was murdered. When the two make their way to each other, their hearts may actually heal.
This story is incredible. I've read the entire series, and every book is better than the last. Adrian is grouchy and taciturn, as well as a Dom. Sophie didn't know she was submissive until Adrian showed her, which was beautiful. Their HEA actually brought a tear to my eye. Both of them deserved the happiness of true love. This is definitely a five star read and well worth the one click.

So good....so..so...good! It was heart-wrenching, but heart-warming. It began simple and innocent, then started to simmer...then began to boil until it became hot as hell! Sophie leaves her native New Orleans after a heartbreaking tragedy and takes a position as housekeeper/cook at a horse ranch in Idaho. Adrian has his hands full running the ranch with his cousin and trying to figure out which one of his close friends might've killed his wife...not that there was any love loss, but she deserved better. When Sophie arrives, the heat is there between them. While each one is trying to forget their heartache for little while as they get lost in one another, the ominous feeling of being watched and that some people are not who they appear to be cannot be shook.... I love how BJ Wane always weaves a mystery through her books and how it adds a different element to the story. Loved it!
BJ has gone and knocked it out of the park with yet another fantastic installment in her Doms of Mountain Bend series! We have two lost souls that come together in a sexy, hot, suspense filled story. Sophie is reeling from the loss of her baby daughter, so she decides that a change is in order. She ends up becoming a housekeeper for Adrian Coultraine. Adrian is upset at the loss of his wife, and even though they were getting ready to split, he doesn’t think that her death was an accident. He is convinced that someone close to them killed her. And as he gets closer to Sophie, someone wants her gone too. But who? This was another riveting page turner with some new characters that we will eventually be seeing in their own books. It’s another 5 star read!
A slightly different story than the previous Mountain Bend stories, this was more romantic suspense. Sophie has suffered a major loss and is looking to make a new start by taking a job far from home. Adrain has lost his wife, and although he was considering divorce, he believes she was murdered, possibly by one of the group of their close friends. This is the situation Sophie walks into. I loved the STEAMY scenes between Adrain and Sophie and how she was so willing to try new things. I also was intrigued by the suspense part of the story and was glad that the author didn't cheat and take the easy way out with a bad guy coming out of nowhere. Great story and HEA.

Redeemer is a well written, emotional suspenseful, action packed,, page turner book by BJ Wane with some BDSM. Adrian Coltrane's wife Nicole fell off a cliff on his ranch right after he filed for divorce. Suspicion that one of his five best friends killed his wife drives his daily life toward accusations and grumpiness. Sophie Turner lost her daughter to cancer. She accepted the job of housekeeper at the Coltrane ranch to run away from her grief. Adrian's protective nature leads to his "Dom" showing Sophie another way to handle her grief. This is their story.

Adrian's and Sophie's story is a complete romantic suspense which can easily be enjoyed as a stand-alone, but there are lots of characters from previous books with cameo appearances which give depth and context to Adrian's life. I loved the combination of heartfelt and heart-wrenching moments with lots of steamy scenes. The suspense plot had so many hints and red herrings that I was kept guessing till the last minute who the bad guy was. The HEA is truly beautiful and I look forward to maybe reading about some happy news for them in the next book!.

I so enjoyed this story. My heart went out to Sophie and how she lost her little girl. But now she is trying a start over. However she signs up to be a live in help with Adrian Coultrane. But what she didnt expct to come across was Adrian being suspicious of his friends murdering his wife. Also the activities that are shared in the house.
But now someone is out to try and scare her. Can they find the person who murdered Coultranes wife before they murder her?
A really great story, it was so enjoyable to read and i loved as always hearing from the other couples who have already had their story told.
Adrian and Sophie both have past experiences that stop them from moving forward with life. How do you move forward when your heard is broken or your belief that not is what it seems. Can these two people build a life together and heal their past? A great story, full of steamy heat, romance and a bunch of suspense. It was very enjoyable to read their story and the author kept you wanting until the end to find out if there was a who-dunit! I loved that the author included, although briefly, characters from earlier books! Very enjoyable either as a read-alone, or as part of the series!.

Both Adrian and Sophie are grieving, with fresh emotional wounds and heavy baggage, when she comes to the Coultrane ranch to start her new job as housekeeper. Things aren’t what they seem at the ranch and people aren’t all as they appear. The start of this story is so emotionally powerful, it really sets the mood; it certainly left me slightly on edge with its sad then uneasy beginning. The whodunit was an absolute shocker - thank goodness for the happy ending. This return to Mountain Bend introduces a new group of Doms and friends, as well as familiar faces and trips to Spurs, making for an exciting read
This is a pretty good BDSM romance set on a horse breeding farm. The mystery of what happened to his wife and who killed her is kinda a surprise ending. But the rest is pretty good. There were a few places it felt like it sorta jumped a little and the characters from the previous stories seem very limited in this story. I kinda wish his friends had a little more of a relationship... I kinda thought maybe she would fall for the two cousins and she might bring them together.... But that didn't happen so it kinda feels like Mountain Bend has at least 3 more stories... The farrier, the cousin , and Wyatt. Unless Nora, and The other girl also need to find love...
This story starts with a bang in more ways than one. Many people are afraid of thunderstorm and Sophie is no exception, it in a strange turn of fate, they turn out to be the catalyst to her future happiness. There are so many red herrings in this story, you will constantly change your mind about who the bad person is or even if there is a bad person, maybe it was really an accident? Going back to Spurs and catching up with everyone was fun and watching Sophie find peace was amazing. The ending was everything you could ask for and really beautiful.
Not a very original title to a review, but I honestly couldn't think beyond Wow. This story touches me on so many levels. Heartache, danger, healing, acceptance, dominance, and love. A full gambit that makes you hold your breath, read faster to get to the next page and a full exhale when it's over. A slightly different lead to the protective Doms of Mountain Bend, but Adrian lives up to the title and earns the submission in the end. Love it.

Another great book in the author's Doms of mountain Bend series ! Sophie moves to Idaho from Louisiana for a big change in her life after the death of her baby daughter. She will be working as a maid at the Coultrane ranch owners. A big change from the B & B she owned and ran in New Orleans. Will she get along with Adrian the cool and closed off owner ? Will the two of them get over their grief and move on from the past ? Great reading and leaning who murdered his wife will definitely come as a surprise.
This book in the series introduces us to brand new characters while still bringing old favorites into the storyline. This story deals a lot with grief and the downward spiral it can take a person. I thought Sophie and Adrian were pretty intense characters, and the circle of Adrian's friends seemed kind of egocentric. Loved Tink and the anticipation of the mystery being solved. Glad to see the series continue!.

Was this book about Adrian and Sophie, about her healing from the death of her daughter or about finding a murderer? This was an entertaining story but it had too much going on for me. The D/s scenes were steamy but there was very little relationship between Adrian and Sophie outside of their attraction to each other. And all the extra stuff was distracting - her grief and his desire for answers and vengeance kind of took away from the story instead of adding to it.

Tragedy, heartbreak, murder and romance with a side of steam. Redeemer has it all and will keep you guessing until the end as to which of Adrian's friends is guilty. Even though he no longer cared about his cheating wife, I loved his conviction that she didn't die from an accident. He also tried to fight his attraction to Sophie as long as the killer was free and Sophie was dealing with her own sorrow. This book grabs your interest as the killer sets his sights on Sophie. Fantastic read with two amazing main characters.
After Sophie loses her young daughter to an illness she gets a job on Coultrane Ranch to help her get away from her said memories, in the hope that she can rebuild her life. But Adrian has also suffered a loss. His wife had died in what was classified as a tragic accident, but Adrian is sure she was murdered. He might have been about to divorce her for cheating on him, but she didn't deserve to die.
Then his efforts to find the culprit puts Sophie at risk. What is going to happen?.
