May 2024 Read using the Horus Heresy Omnibus Project Reading Order (https://www.heresyomnibus.com) as part of my Oath of Moment to complete the Horus Heresy series and extras - Now in Immaterium of everything outside the Horus Heresy Omnibus Project working on the Primarchs and other stories, before the Siege of Terra.

Totally forgot that with the Lords of Imperium, I finished this, again!

I often say that the quality of the stories vaccilates over an a Horus Heresy anthologies, but they are all phenomenal (but then I read Cthonia's Reckoning). The Audio Collection series, Lupercal's War, Treachery, and Betrayal, Knights Errant, and this are all full of exceptional amounts of awesome at spectacular value and I cannot recommend them more thoroughly! The start here thing is a bit weird because of so much needing more context and potential spoilers, but regardless they are great.

I particularly appreciate that this includes Priamchs audio dramas too.

I've reviewed everything in here separately at the very least once on here and I've counted the entries as part of the other works they are included in in my stats below, so I haven't counted any of these audio collections, but with this done, that's the the whole red audio collection done and dusted!

Great stuff.

Through the Horus Heresy Omnibus Project and my own additions, I have currently read* all 54 Horus Heresy main series novels (+1 repeat), 25 novellas (+2 repeats), Cthonia's Reckoning, as well as the Macragge's Honour graphic novel, all 17 Primarchs novels 3 Primarchs antholologies , 3 Characters novels, and 181 short stories/ audio dramas across the Horus Heresy (inc. 11+ repeats). Plus, 2 Warhammer 40K further reading novels and 1 short story...this run, as well as writing 1 short story myself.

I couldn't be more appreciative of the phenomenal work of the Horus Heresy Omnibus Project, which has made this ridiculous endeavour all the better and has inspired me to create and collate a collection of Horus Heresy and Warhammer 40,000 documents and checklists (http://tiny.cc/im00yz). There are now too many items to list here, but there is a contents and explainer document here (http://tiny.cc/nj00yz).

*My tracking consistently proves shoddy, but I'm doing my best.

Just as with the other two Horus Heresy audio drama collections I have listened through there are highs and lows, but this seemed to be more consistent with the quality and has the two Malcador stories that absolutely blew my mind, one of which had be sobbing throughout!

I've reviewed all the audio dramas in more detail individually.

These collections being a way to get your hands on a massive bag of audio dramas, essentially, for the price of one is phenomenal!

There truly is some writing and performances in there that are magnificent. This has convinced me that once I have a coupe of audiobooks planned next done, to starting the novel series again from the beginning and actually get all the way through to completing the Siege of Terra.

Really well produced and constructed but if you have little experience in this world you will need to do a fair bit of reading to comprehend what's going on.

A short story collection or an audio drama collection? It's hard to classify this one but it's on Audible so I'm counting it.

Overall enjoyable.

There are some true gems in this one even if the entire collection did not capture me. I think the short story format lends itself well to 40k as you can choose to learn more about a faction or character. There are plenty of characters we do not want to spend more time with but even those stories are usually worth it.This is a great sampling of the events surrounding the horus heresy if you feel like dipping your toes in.

More then half of the the stories in this anthology I have red in other horus heresy anthologies. Kind of annoying they re use so many of the same ones in different books.
