TOM I Serii Rights and Wrongs
Hermiona znów poczuła łomotanie w uszach. Zobaczy go po raz pierwszy od tego czasu w Wielkiej Sali, kiedy siedział wychudzony i ranny przy stole Slytherinu, z matką ściskającą go za ramię. Nie miała najmniejszej intencji go szukać. Nie na korytarzach, nie pod białymi prześcieradłami poległych, nie w drodze do Komnaty Tajemnic z Ronem, ale była tylko głupią dziewczyną.

🕸️ beautiful writing — and I rarely say that —that left me fascinated (many authors who have published romance books have a thing or two to learn from this one)

🕸️ got boring quickly

🕸️ character driven

🕸️ complex, vivid characterisation, amazing secondary characters— Lucius, Narcissa, Blaise 😍

🕸️ The Auction — dark AU by this author — is much more dynamic. Kept my interest longer

🕸️ two idiots secretly pining one after another since forever, both each other's first love 🤌🏻😍

("unrequited" love, secret mutual pining aren't my normal tropes to go but they were good in this author's execution)

🕸️ finally a Hermione with taste. She has never been in love with the ginger loser. Seriously this girl had class, she could have landed anyone, but she always chose the right one 😍

(having read quite a few dramione fanfics, I must confess: I'm sick of Hermiones falling for the redheaded idiot/Bulgarian guy. The brightest witch of the century can do better than that)

🕸️ miscommunication for the sake of miscommunication

🕸️ needed more chemistry/tension in Dramione scenes (really enjoyed the scene where Hermione was under the influence of a drug and they kissed passionately, and the one where she flew from Malfoy Manor with tears running down her face after her sweet encounter with the king of my dreams Lucius sjsjsjjsjs)

🕸️ respectful, tender, worshipping Draco with the right amount of cockiness and arrogance — not my type but I still loved this pinning-her-to-any-available-surface blonde demon. He had his moments of male aggressiveness too (not enough never enough sjsjsj)

🕸️ so much consent it hurt

🕸️ I really need Lucius & Narcissa pairing from this author

🕸️ feeble angst 😔

🕸️ many work-related scenes felt unnecessary long/detailed/dragging

🕸️ 3 stars (skimmed a lot) but I'm still giving it 4 because this fanfic reeks of insane talent/mad writing skills (writing-wise it's on par with Manacled for me)

4 STARS ★★★★✩
This book is for you if… Hermione and Ron ending up together upsets and bores you just as much as it upset and bored me. Dramoine all the way, baby!

Overall.
Honestly, in all the Dramione fanfics I've read thus far the one common denominator is the torment Draco endures. Bad conscious because of the war, low self-esteem, tensed relationship with his family, too brooding at times, destructive and toxic communication strategy. Will I still continue to read Dramione until I die?

Ron and Hermione just. don't. fit. He's lame and unobtrusive, she's foxy and loyal. I feel like making them a couple was the easy and logical choice. Going on a limp I'm just gonna continue my argument saying fanfictions such as this one demonstrate that fighting in a war side by side does not necessarily mean you know your romantic needs.

I noticed that the whole werewolf campaign Draco and Hermione work on together has a white saviour tendency to it which didn't really sit well with me, just like I've always found the S.P.E.W. efforts weird if we were to buy JKR's narrative of a species of magical beings actually enjoying being enslaved.

What’s happening.
‘Didn’t your mother ever teach you it isn’t polite to stare?’ She raised a brow at him. ‘She tried.’ He crossed his arms. ‘But she also told me to enjoy the beautiful things in life, so I find it a very difficult contradiction.’

Another chance for all of us potterheads out there to be helplessly smitten with the Draco we wanted, not the misguided and pore portayal of this character JKR and the movies provided us with. Hermione can't help but notice it either: long gone is the immature, purposefully hurtful and mean teenager she used to know. She now works on a daily basis with a smart, cunning and beautiful man who's way nicer than is good for her heart.
Con:
tabloids everywhere
toxic potential fahter in law
two damaged souls
Pro:
adorable office mate
certain ginger pushing her limits
Draco's smiles/smirks

3.5 ⭐ An easy to read, light-hearted Dramione fanfic

Word Count: 174,911 | Chapters:36

Summary:

A year has passed since the Battle of Hogwarts, and Hermione stands before the Wizengamot in defense of Draco Malfoy: ex Death-Eater and her childhood bully. However, Hermione has a secret: she's been in love with Draco for many years. Why does she love him? Hermione doesn't even know. But thanks to her statement, Draco is freed on the account that he will serve a probation period working with the Ministry of Magic, where Hermione also happens to work.

After the trial, they have repeated run-ins at a bookshop and often find themselves collaborating on work projects. Draco's mother, Narcissa, also takes a special interest in Hermione and not so subtly tries to play matchmaker.

Once Draco's probation period ends, he announces his plans to start a consulting group (with his inheritance) and invites Hermione to join this endeavor. However, Lucius Malfoy, jailed in Azkaban, threatens to withhold said inheritance on certain conditions surrounding Hermione Granger's involvement in Draco's life. Will Hermione agree to Lucius' terms to help the man she loves fulfill his dream?

My Thoughts:

I liked that this was a fun, entertaining read with a happy ending. However, this definitely is not my favorite Dramione fanfic for a few reasons.

There were a lot of character inconsistencies that left me with questions. Here are a few examples: Why is Hermione in love with Draco? Did Hermione forgive Draco for being horrible to her in school? Where did Draco get the skills to run a consulting group at the age of 19 when he previously spent the last year in prison and before that was a high-school dropout? When and how did the Malfoy family change their opinions about Muggles and Muggle-borns? Why was Draco such a dick to Hermione if he liked her all along?

These important questions are ignored, which makes the story unbelievable. I know as fanfiction, there are fewer expectations. But the lack of explanation makes this story hard to believe and doesn't really seem like it could be canon (which I personally enjoy more when this is the case).

The beginning was more intriguing than the end. There's not much to really say here except the story-telling felt sloppy as things progressed. This connects to my point above where there was a lack of explanation for certain characters' behaviors and motives. So, in the end, I didn't quite understand the 'love' between Hermione and Draco or the reason why Lucius was withholding Draco's inheritance.

Overall, I probably wouldn't reread this, but I definitely will continue with the next story in the Rights and Wrongs series. I'm especially interested in reading The Auction!

I may have fallen down a Dramione fanfic rabbit hole... And finally hit my head on the ground because this was disappointing.

This story follows Hermione as she defends Draco on his trial and basically frees him with her testimony. In this world, she has been in love with Draco since Hogwarts and Draco has also been in love with her since Hogwarts but they're both unaware of each other's feelings. Cue them circling around each other in a display of continuous misinterpretation of their words and miscommunication so severe you have to frown every once in a while.

My main issue with this book, aside from it being unnecessarily long, is that both character's personality feel ridiculous and way off from what you would expect from them. I would understand it if it were a different world but this literally follows the events from the original books while also managing to make them caricatures of themselves despite all the trauma they went through. I also feel like there are some dramatic shifts in their attitude throughout the book that further makes this story just.... Not the most enjoyable. One of those shifts is how Hermione, while still intelligent, almost seems clumsy and led around by the nose from the 50% mark of the book up until the last pages. Another shift is how Draco suddenly becomes this emmm hot boss type of character and it all reads wrong to me. Don't get wrong! I love me some smut but these characters did not connect at all.

Overall, this story was drawn out with poor characters and absolutely no chemistry between them.

Even though this wasn’t my favorite dramione fic I’ve read so far (because not much will be able to top Manacled and DMATMOOBIL)… I still had a good time reading it. It was one of those books that I never felt like putting down and kept wanted to turn the page - so that’s a win in my eyes.

I’m too lazy to write a longer, well thought out review… so below is a collection of unorganized random thoughts I had as I was reading:

• having hard time getting into it - the writing feels a bit choppy and repetitive (I got used to it over time though)

• this isn’t my favorite Hermione – it doesn’t feel like her. I don’t like how she was so un-confident and not as strong willed, smart and overachiever-ish as I’ve seen her in other fics… she feels easily manipulated and like she had no back bone.

• I don’t like the she falls first vibes. It’s making her look extremely desperate. I don’t understand why she’s always been in love with him since all we were showed was how horrible he always was to her. It would have made more sense if she just found him worthy of a second chance, or even if she was always infatuated and obsessed with him just because… but it’s mentioned multiple times that she’s always been madly in love with him, and I didn’t understood why based off the specific interactions (past and present) that we were shown in this fic.

• she felt a bit crazy and delusional to me… over analyzing his paparazzi pics, making up stories and possible scenarios in her head, breaking into the ministry to get inside his head. She might have been right… but I didn’t feel like any of his actions gave her a logical reason to think she was (up until the very end). — actions and words speak louder than random moments of jealousy and a bunch of staring.

• the story as a whole really went places. We started off in the bookshop and the ministry and then somehow ended with a steamy office romance.

• everyone’s actions felt a bit juvenile- yes, they’re all only 18-21… but i feel like characters generally age up - and this time they didn’t. It was a weird mix of doing adult things like working and starting companies, but then there was soo much about it that made me think I was reading about teenagers. Odd mix of vibes.

• I think it would have been better to read the auction first so that when you read this better reality you can think that the auction was more of just a horrible nightmare/alternative reality - would have been better to end off on a good note.

• I liked the slow burn a lot - definitely a big part of what kept me interested… even though once they started getting it on, it was full speed ahead and I kept hoping for some actual conversations that didn’t really come

• this book didn’t make me fall in love with draco, it’s just showing Hermione being desperately in love with him. It felt like he was just manipulating her the whole time and somehow the smartest witch of her age was stupid enough to fall for his ‘seduction’. I ended the book still wondering if he only pursued her at this specific point in time just for his inheritance.

• it was easy to fill in the blanks of how much he cared for her the whole time and make the very subtle connections to all the things he did with her in mind… but I would have loved to see it all a bit more clearly. He stared at her a lot and would get jealous when other guys would talk to her… but I could have used a bit more from him verbally or physically to show that he’s not a complete asshole unless he’s literally in middle of getting in her pants.

I think reading All The Wrong Things will definitely change my perspective on this story for the better. I think getting to see his POV of all of these moments will help me understand a lot about him which I felt was missing from just her POV - and maybe it’ll make Hermione come off as less desperate, if he’s just as desperate for her and she was for him.

no thoughts just:

“To my Saturday girl”
...

“Hello, lover.”
...

“When did this start for you? Please, tell me,” she whispered.
Silence. And she was terrified. Maybe that’s not what he had meant.
Fourth year.”
...

“He sighed, pressing his forehead against hers. She moved her thumbs across his cheeks, brushing away the remaining tears, and trailing her fingers into the hair at his temples.”
...

“Ask,” he whispered. “Ask me now.”
“Why didn’t you identify me that night. At Malfoy Manor.”
He took the final step into her, and she tilted her head back to see his face. He looked into her eyes, and small smirk tugged at the corner of his lips.It was the right thing to do.”

It started strong and I was so into the characterization and story flow but the story in the last third really fizzled out for me and seemed very....strange and boring? Lucius's whole thing didn't make any sense to me (or his characterization) and the lessons seemed a really weird plot point.

✍🏼 A bit of a let down this one. Started out strong but it dragged on endlessly.🙄🙄

The writing was good but that's about it. I just can't stand miscommunication or lack there of. 🤌🏻 Drama for the sake of drama does not appeal to me either, as many times as this fanfic utilized it. (It was a LOT)

Also, the characters didn't feel or sound like themselves, it really affected their chemistry.👀

really disappointing. I don't know if I disliked this story because it's really bad or if it was because the fic I read before was that good, but what a horrible experience. i hated the thing about hermione and draco liking each other since 4th year at hogwarts without any explanation?????? he was repeatedly racist to her all this time why then??? he doesn't apologize or show regret for it at any point and it's SO ooc for hermione to like him anyway???? really horrible

and my god what a DRAGGED plot. 500 pages for them together together and they stay together for 3 weeks and then fight??? and then get back together out of nowhere. and somehow the author managed to make 500 pages of development feel the same thing as nothing, because I felt like they got together out of nowhere

What about Lucius????? what the fuck???????????? was?????? that?????? plot??????? he threw away his relationship with his family to manipulate hermione into taking etiquette classes???? she being a MUGGLEBORN was ok but not being able to waltz crossed the line?? why did the wizarding world accepts draco so quickly. EVERYTHING. I UNDERSTOOD NOTHING. NOTHING MADE SENSE

horrible. but i will read draco's pov and finally i will be able to read the auction and if the auction is bad i will throw my computer out the window

I had the best time reading this book. Anytime I can make it back to my One True Love, Dramione, the world settles around me and just feels...right. I was actually sad that this ended, but then I remembered that I have two more books to read in this universe, AND that one of them has been adapted! So without further ado, the review.

Hermione Granger has just spoken at Draco Malfoy’s trial, in his defense, and found out that he was acquitted. What’s more, he will be working with Harry and her at the ministry. When the two come face to face for the first time, things are chilly. Frosty, one might say. But after few months, something more makes itself known. Draco starts a consulting business and invited Hermione to join his team, which leads her to believe that she is no longer welcome to think about the more.

Eventually though, aided by Draco’s parents meddling, the two start to explore some boundaries…and maybe even hop-skip-jump over them. There isn’t a huge plot to this, but it does have a storyline, so most of this is character driven stuff which I wasn’t actually mad at. It was a tiny bit meandering and drawn out, but it was a really fun read and very well-written. I love these two kids with my whole heart, I can’t wait to read Draco’s POV!

Okay I’ve fallen down the dramione rabbit hole and i can’t get out. This was BEAUTIFULLY written. I am floored. This takes place after the war and everyone is living their young adult life. Hermione and Harry work at the ministry, Ginny plays on a quidditch team and is roomies with hermione etc etc. Hermione has had a crush on Draco for years and Draco is recently released from Azkaban and cleared of his charges.

Basically, everyone but Draco and Hermione knows that they’re in love with one another but just won’t admit it. This is definitely still enemies to lovers, just not strong passionate i will kill you hate. Narcissa in this was THE BEST she was a queen of mettling and I loved it all. The flash backs to when they were at hogwarts and the parallels between them is insane. You NEED to read this series in order because I’m telling you Dracos POV is so good too. Ugh. Just pls read this

What can I say, I really love them.

This is considered a must-read in the dramione world, and I must agree with it. It is very enjoyable and hard to stop and put it away. I read it so fast as I just must have known what would happen. I loved Ginny and Harry in this fic, I'm usually not a big fan of Harry, but he was a cutiepie in this one. Narcissa was also great, loved reading a fic with her as a central character. Although I immensely enjoy this fic, it was very long and therefore dragged. It is great, but could have been shorter imo.

On to the next one!

Here's the thing... It's fanfic. So I need to accept that this is someone else's variation to the original. However, my biggest beef is that the two main characters Hermione and Draco were so different from the original that it just annoyed me in some ways.

Hermione was this simpering shy girl unless really riled up then the feisty girl came out but most of the time she was this quiet secret in love crush with Draco girl... like whaaaaat???? Where was the smart know-it-all? where was the snarky sarcastic girl who had so much wit and smart-aleck remarks? instead I got... this... weird obsessive quiet version and I didn't like it.

I finished and it was still enjoyable enough for me to finish AND give it 3 stars instead of less. It's a Dramione fanfic what can I say! I'm obsessed but nothing beats the first 3 books I read based off the Dramione troupe.

Overall it wasn't horrible, the change in character personality bothered me but when I separated it from the Dramione troupe it wasn't bad.

“Why did you do this.”
She wished she had the Gryffindor courage to tell him why, to tell him it was for him. So, she settled for the next best answer. “It was the right thing to do.”

The Right Thing To Do is a captivating Harry Potter fanfiction that delves into the complexities of morality, relationships, and personal growth. Set in a post-war wizarding world, this Dramione story explores themes of redemption and forgiveness in a way that feels grounded yet deeply emotional.

The story excels in its character development. Draco Malfoy’s arc is central to the story’s emotional weight. Rather than presenting him as a misunderstood victim or suddenly heroic figure, lovesbitca8 (AKA Julie Soto) portrays Draco as someone deeply aware of his past actions yet unsure how to move forward. His guilt is palpable, but instead of wallowing in self-pity, he actively seeks to redefine himself. The tension lies in his struggle to break free from his family’s toxic legacy while navigating a society that still sees him as a symbol of past atrocities. Hermione Granger remains true to her canon traits, intelligent, principled, and empathetic, but the fic explores her vulnerability in refreshing ways.

Hermione’s interactions with Draco, initially tense and guarded, feel authentic. Their relationship unfolds gradually, built on reluctant trust, intellectual respect, and a shared understanding of loss. Lovesbitca8 excels at showing Hermione’s internal conflict: her instinct to do what’s right clashes with her growing empathy for Draco as an individual rather than a symbol of past enmity. She's trying to understand her own feelings as well as Draco's while constantly doubting if she's right about her convictions. The usage of "the right thing to do" in order to explain one's actions in this fanfiction is absolutely adorable and heartwarming. I felt gushy every time this phrase was used.

The side characters aren’t just there to fill space; they actively shape the narrative and contribute to the emotional complexity of the central relationship. Ginny, Harry, Ron, Blaise and Pansy are well depicted and their interactions with both main characters were fun to read. However the ones that truly shined for me was Narcissa and Lucius Malfoy, how I loved to read the parts they were in scene, I'm desperate to read Birth Right after this.

The fic’s pacing is deliberate, which allows the emotional stakes to build naturally. Every conversation feels meaningful, filled with subtext and unspoken tension. The author masterfully uses silence, body language, and small gestures to convey emotions, making even quiet moments feel charged with significance. Themes of moral ambiguity, personal responsibility, and healing run throughout the story. Lovesbitca8 doesn’t present a clear-cut path to redemption, Draco’s efforts are often met with suspicion, and the world around him isn’t quick to forgive. This realism is what makes his journey so compelling.

Overall, The Right Thing To Do is a standout work in the Dramione fandom, thought-provoking, emotionally charged, and beautifully written. It’s a powerful reminder that growth isn’t linear, and that sometimes, doing "the right thing" is the most difficult, yet most rewarding, path of all. Whether you're a dedicated shipper or just appreciate well-crafted character-driven stories, this fic is well worth the read.

I have always wanted to see Hermione as a boss lady or a business mogul.I really loved the sweet way the author has chosen to describe the characters.I love the world in which the childhood enemies can be friends in adulthood. The roles of Pancy Parkinson and Blaise Zabini gave me this hope.

The whole story is mainly a one big dream of a celebrity-wanna-be girl. Hermione is famous. And it's not some temporary fame because of defeating Voldemort - she's ultra famous with the whole "appearing on covers and in articles of society section in Daily Prophet" thing. She's also secretly in love with Draco Malfoy since Hogwarts (well, Ginny and Harry know, so maybe not as secretly). Why? Hermione doesn't know. As for this character I would expect at least an attempt of a logical explanation. She is said to be "logical", but I don't recall her being logical for once, she often seems silly and clueless like Ron in books.
Draco at the beginning seems to be in character until it appears he wants to start his own company (at the age of 19) and then he becomes generic sexy (teenage) boss. I had traumatic flashbacks of "50 shades of Grey" (I've read only a half but I could imagine the rest). It's better then Grey thank God, but unfortunately it started giving me those vibes at this point and never stopped. Hermione immediately becomes Senior Consultant, Blaise is Senior PR something (Malfoy reasons that he's the best, but when was he suppose to gain the experience and this reputation - I've got no idea) and Pansy has her own fashion company. Aren't they a bunch of talented teenagers? But well, it would be much more believable, if they were at least few years older. And then Hermione signs a contract with Pansy's company to become face of her clothes and all the photoshoots starts and I guess it was too much for me. I can't say it wasn't enjoyable, there was interesting (although slightly awkward) storyline related to Malfoy parents. There were also other storylines that I liked. But on some point Hermione's fame started to feel exaggerated as well as the whole corpo stuff and Malfoy's company.

Maybe I'll come back and read it when the Auction is finished, because I definitely want to give this series a try.

3.5 STARS

*yes, im adding fanfics on here, this was like 180k words and i need to reach my yearly goal ✋🏾*

this book was meh, don't get me wrong it had some great moments but i feel like the plot was very messy and poorly planned (but then again it is fanfic so what was i expecting?). the whole thing was a big miscommunication trope which is why the rating is so low.

here are some highlights and thoughts:
- the whole "they liked each other the whole time" for dramione fics is so weird, draco literally called her mudblood every five seconds at hogwarts why would hermione like him????
- they never talked about any of their issues at all and it was so frustratinggggg
- i love pansy, ginny, harry, and blaise in this fic they were so <3 🫶🏾
- i love the whole consulting group idea and the new years gala scenes
- the author having hermione lose her v card on a couch in a random mansion was so?????
- this fic also made me laugh which was great
- modern business witch>>> all of the other photoshoots>>>> amazing
- at some point, i just wanted the book to end the first half was WAY better than the second half
- the number of times the phrase "the right thing to do" was written was insane

overall, i would recommend this, it's not that bad and the writing was good here and there but it just needed better execution. disclaimer: if you've read other fics like clean by olivie blake, draconian by noelle n. or any other well well-written and canon worthy fanfics you might have higher expectations as i did 🤷🏾‍♀️. there's also a second part of this book with draco's pov so i might try that and maybe my opinion will change. bye!

I think we leave parts of ourselves in every story we read. Echoes of tears, laughter and longing as you flip through the pages and find them trapped there. You revisit those emotions and they greet you like a long lost friend. Eyes devouring words on the phone. You finally feel at home.

I love to re-read. Stories that I end up enjoying more with every revisit are rare. I only try to read them once a year so they don't lose their charm. '_All The Right Things To Do' and its companion book have the strongest hold on my heart. It's one of the best fanfictions I've ever read. The characterizations of Hermione and Draco are wonderfully exquisite.

A compelling love story weaved throughout the years and by the time you reach the end you are too attached. You want more words more of these beautiful characters to drown into so that you could never surface to reality.

“When you ask me why I’ve done the things I have, I want to be able to say it’s because I love you.” She gasped as it came out of her. “That everything has been for you. It’s never been about the ‘right thing to do.’” She laughed, a manic sound that couldn’t be pulled back in. “It’s because I love you.
