Missed Driveway, Made Connection
There's so much to enjoy about this book! The recognition of what's going on between Clementine "Sugar" and Rafe, their first date, the pace they set despite their overwhelming feelings, and more.
I love the childhood friendship with Serenity and how strong their bond remains as adults. I always love when the lead woman has at least one amazing ride-or-die friend.
I definitely recommend the bonus epilogue. It's really sweet and put a smile on my face.
There's also a setup for the spin-off. It appears we're not done with Whisper Valley. Or is it that Whisper Valley is not done with us? Either way, I can't wait!

I loveed this one!
It's the story of Rafe, a guy exasperated by the quick way in which his brothers and cousins are falling in love and marring. They keep trying to convince him that all of them have this sense in finding their soulmates and he refuses to believe in this stuff.
And as he denies it will ever happen to him - in comes the woman of his dreams. He's grumpy at first and keeps triggering all her insecurities but he sees the truth in her Tarot reading and gets over his reservations and treats her riiight!
I adored this idea and how all these new age-y things I love are present here. I appreciated how respectful Rafe was about them, despite his skepticism and how attentive to details important to Clem he was, like the idea of the ring's stone.
Clem is a lovely character herself, I liked a lot how she was described and I could totally see her style and personality coming to life. I liked how she got over her insecurities and left her hippie lifestyle to some degree to make room for love.
I liked a lot of details about this book, but also the story as a whole: it's short, it's nicely written and every side of it gets its part, among the girls' friendship, the cute moments there are also steamy one and sensual ones, their first meetings were so cute and playful. All in all, a big winner for me!

Clementine comes into Whispering Falls to met a friend but she walks into a wedding that is happening. She is greeted by her friend and sits at the bar trying to have a conversation but when she turns to ask the guy next to her, he leaves after being greeted.
Rafe leaves because she is beautiful. He was afraid he say something wrong.
Clementine is in her VW van when she goes to the cabin her friend said she could use while in town. She sees a lake and dip. The next day she does the same thing but this time Rafe spit out his coffee when looking out the window. He then, not meaning to bit chases her away. He noticed she was collecting rocks from the lake that was in his backyard.
Wanting to apologize for chasing g her away and finding out she really was to be at the next cabin down the road. He went there and found her having fun with friends and making candles. His sister in laws always talked about the soulwink theory. He never believed in souls winking at each other until Clementine came into town.
That night she gave him a tarot card reading. She also explained why she was always on the road. They started to get closer and he realized the cards were right and the while soulwink was right as well. After spending the night together, Rafe went and did something good but she thought he left her so she packed up her van and was getting ready to leave when Rafe pulled up confused. Clementine didn't understand why he was concerned, she thought he left. He didn't leave he wanted to take her in her first date. Rafe explained he now believed in the whole soulwink theory and wanted to show her and then she understood the whole thing. She took her homemade candles down to her friends yoga studio to sell. She put them online but you could only get the special candles with the rock she got from the lake locally.
After Rafe and Clementine got married, she was selling her candles when some came in to buy her local candle. As this customer was leaving she hit a truck with her car. She was leaving a note when she was using the candle to hold the note in place. The whole soulwink thing didn't die with the Valentine Men but its starter over with a new person. The person who had the rock from the lake. Its like the rock is magical.

Soulwink At It’s Finest Strikes, Again!
Amazing book! Rafe doesn’t believe in the Soulwink nonsense that has gripped his family. He thinks all his brothers and cousins are crazy. Therefore, he is not prepared for the feeling that overcomes him when he sees the unknown woman at another family wedding. He only knows her as “Sugar” and can’t even form a full word let alone a complete sentence to her. All he can do is stare. Clementine arrives in town to visit her friend but, she’s surprised to find herself at a wedding. She had given herself a Tarot card reading before coming and it said she would find love. Once arriving at the wedding she assumes that it means the happy couple. Feeling intrusive at the gathering Clementine leaves early and encounters Rafe in the parking lot and once again all he can do is stumble through sentences and stare at her. Heading to a friend’s cabin to stay while in town she parks her travel van near the lake. The next morning Rafe looks out his kitchen window and sees a naked Sugar in his lake. He goes outside with a towel and informs her that she is at the wrong cabin and to leave. Clementine refuses the towel and goes to her van retrieved her robe then heads to the correct cabin where she finds her friend waiting for her. The next morning she returns to the lake for more stones like she found the day before. She wants to use them in new candles she plans to make. Rafe comes out once again this time bearing coffee. The night before all he could think about was Sugar. He can’t explain the way she makes him feel still not believing in the Soulwink theory. Clementine does a reading for Rafe and he can’t ignore the Soulwink theory anymore and he’s done fighting it. He tells her how he feels about her and is overjoyed with her response that she feels the same way about him. But, will a misunderstanding have Clementine heading out of town hurting?.

This is part of the Hermits and Curves series the soulwinks strike again each time it hits a sexy guy who thinks it is a joke, it can’t happen to him and the girl who unintentionally stole his heart. Rafe sexy as all get out Valentine who doesn’t believe in this soulwink thing, wants no parts of it he likes his life the way it and he is sick of his brothers/cousins trying to convince him that there is a soulmate out there for him, but he doesn’t believe in that stuff denying it will ever happen to him. Clementine is intelligent in Whispering Falls to visit her friend arriving at the cabin she was okayed to stay in noticing a lake and decides it is okay to take a dip enjoying it so much decides to do it the next day but gets caught by the neighboring cabin owner. Rafe is up early when he notices a woman out in his lake taking a dip causing him to spit his hot coffee out of surprise and then chases her out of his backyard. Although it was his intention to chase her away so feeling bad decides to find her in the cabin down the road to apologize finding with her friends having fun thinking it can’t be real because when he looks at her, he knows she is supposed to be his. That evening she gave him a tarot card reading learning more about each other and that soulwink pull is so strong that neither of them can ignore the pull giving in and they Rafe knows the soulwink is real so when she wakes he is gone thinking he left her she decides to pack up and leave the pain of not being with him breaks her heart but the moment he explains the soulwink understanding why he left but is it enough to keep her in one place, will the soulwink stop with their family, will her candle business be a success, and can the grumpy living isolated sexy Rafe and traveling Clementine find their own soulwink HEA?.

I’m still intrigued by those special stones from the lake
This book is about Clementine and Rafe. Clementine is visiting her childhood best friend Serenity in Whisper Valley. When she arrived, she literally walked into a wedding at the Valentine’s Bar and Grill. Her tarot cards had told her that she was going to find love, and now she definitely thought it meant the newly-wed couple in front of her! Clementine sees her destiny as being a witness in the world, to be fun, free-spirited and single as she travels around the countryside. She’s had no interest in setting down roots, but Serenity thinks that maybe Whisper Valley is just the answer her wandering soul has beenlooking for.
At the bar, she starts to realise that all the men have the same eyes, and asks the only person near her about it. He’s a little gruff and is surprised he’s talking to her. Rafe explains that they’re all brothers or cousins, having grown up together there. He’s incredibly uncomfortable around her and excuses himself as he walks away. She assumes it’s because of soething she’s said or done. But Clementine has no idea just how enamoured he is with her. He felt it instantly, but he’s skeptical about the soul-wink theory. But that’s not to say it can be controlled!
A funny string of occurrences has them spending time together getting to know each other. At some stage they realise just how strongly they feel, and so quickly! It’s a sweet, emotional, funny (the shower farts), first-time steamy and passionate, and did I say sweet (?) story about two unlikely people finding their flame… And BTW, I seriously NEED one of those Whisper Valley Special Reserve candles! I can’t get enough of those Valentines! I give this book four and a quarter soul-wink stars.

Rafe is the last Valentine cousin and he doesn't believe in the soulwink. He believes that in a few years that most of his brothers and cousins would be divorced because of their crazy haste in getting married. He is at his brother's wedding where he meets Clem, the best friend of the bride. For some reason he thinks her name is Sugar and just one look at her has him wanting to taste her sugar. He won't admit to anything but lust for her because he doesn't believe in soul mates. When he runs into Sugar skinny dipping in the lake on his property, things turn steamy. When Rafe explains that he doesn't believe in the soul wink, Sugar explains her theory of twin flames where two people share the same soul and know almost immediately when they meet. Her explanation hits a chord in Rafe and he is ready to see how far things can go. He takes Sugar on date but he wants to discuss a list of questions he made up to get to know each other better.
Clem is happy to be in Whisper Valley with her friend again. She is free spirited and almost a hippie. She travels around in a VW van only staying as long as she feels a pull and then moves on. The fourth book in Megan Wade's dynamite Hermits & Curves series is Rafe's story in Sugar and the Skeptic. Of all of the Valentine men, Rafe has been the biggest skeptic when it comes to soulwinks and soulmates. Until Serenity's best friend Clementine arrives in town and walks into the Valentine's bar in the middle of the latest Valentine wedding. From the moment he lays eyes on the curvy hippy who makes candles, does Tarot readings, and lives out of a VW van, Rafe is a goner. Clementine has never believed that love will find her, and she has constantly been on the move. But can the swoon-worthy handyman convince her it's time to run TO something, instead of away?
Rafe and his Sugar are my favourite couple in this series. Their chemistry is palpable, and Rafe's transformation from skeptical curmudgeon to romantic hero (especially if you have enjoyed all of the preceding books in this series) is a delight to read. I LOVED Rafe and Clementine!! These two together were so sweet and their story was really wonderful. Megan Wade always delivers on her “sugar promise” and she more than succeeded with this romance! There’s also plenty of heat to her books and this one brought tons! The chemistry between Rafe and Clem was unbelievably hot! I especially loved them in the lake together as well as their first date. Their first date really brings all the feels!!

Clementine is a quirky, free spirit traveling around in her VW van; never staying too long in any one location. She has come to Whisper Valley to visit her friend Serenity. She walks in on a wedding being officiated at the local bar. She runs into Rafe at the bar. The conversation switches to love - Rafe doesn’t believe in instant attraction/instant love. He is a skeptic. Clementine “Sugar” doesn’t believe in love at all! These two should have no problem getting along. But what happens when one feels the “soulwink”? What happens when he starts feeling the love for Clementine? It just can’t be! I loved the characters Rafe and Clementine. They connected from the beginning, easy going nature so natural and comfortable. It is entertaining, funny, steamy, heartwarming, feel good story. It is a love connection.

Skeptic no more.
I liked this story a lot. It was entertaining and enjoyable. The characters were easy to relate to and likable. The 180 from Rafe kind of gave me whiplash but it resulted in some fun times. Clementine arrived in town for a visit with her friend Serenity. Serenity was a good friend of Clementine’s and wanted her to stay in town. Rafe was trying to prove to his family that the soulwink wasn’t real but that wasn’t working for him. Clementine (Sugar) met Rafe and there were some fireworks. I liked a lot of their banter. There were many things that I liked and some were downright amusing and made me laugh. I liked their happily ever after. I recommend reading this book.

Clementine, aka Sugar is traveling through Whiskey Valley and walks into a wedding. There she meets Rafe and the soulwink happens once more. Rafe doesn't believe in the soulwink like his brothers and cousins do and neither does Sugar. But when they meet sparks fly and love follows. I have loved these soulwink books and I really enjoyed this one. I was so worried this would be the end of them but I'm hoping from what I read in the epilogue that there might be more. Cause these books are hot, steamy and are great love at first sight stories, all with lots of fun and laughs. Absolutely loved this whole series.

Clementine drops by to see her friend Serenity in Whisper Valley. She sees a gorgeous hunk at the wedding. But she needs to head out to the cabin for her stay. But she runs into Rafe while skinny dipping. She took the wrong road.
Quick steamy read about two souls connecting. The soul wink was not done yet in Whisper Valley. Clementine joins the ladies soul wink club.

Sugar and the Skeptic was a humorous and romantic addition in the series, and I have enjoyed every one of the Whisper Valley books!
This time we have MMC Rafe who doesn’t believe in the soul wink phenomenon or love at first sight which really brings on the fun when MFC Sugar enters the scene, and he is knocked on his asphalt.
Things are about to change for these two lovable characters as the perfect writing and wonderful pacing brings another of these awesome stories to life.
I enjoyed every minute spent in Whisper Valley tagging along as cupid and his arrow with a little assist from that soul wink strikes again!

Soulwink is when your soul recognizes it's other half and acknowledges it with a wink. This is Rafe and Clementine's story. Safe is the family skeptic, sure this whole "soul wink" stuff is nonsense and not going to happen to him. Until he meets Clementine. Clementine (Sugar) is Rafe's new sister-in-law's BF, a free spirited adventurer, always looking forward to the new sites to see, places to go, people to meet. But when she meets Rafe, maybe he's different. The book is well paced, sizzling, steam, a little drama, but such a fun read. The entire series is available to read for free with Kindle Unlimited and well worth the time.

Rafe is the last Valentine that is single, and he doesn't believe in the soulwink. However, the minute Clementine walks into the bar he is speechless. Clementine is in town to visit Serenity and when she sees Rafe, she is drawn to him. Yet he runs away each time she tries to talk to him. When he finds her swimming naked in his lake Rafe is at a loss and then tries to give her a towel. Clementone starts thinking he isn't interested but its not long before Rafe makes his move. Will this be another Valentine lost to a soulwink?
This is an amazing story that once I started it I couldn't put it down. This is a well written and very entertaining story. It's a book that any book lover would enjoy.

The last Valentine cousin overcomes his cynicism and falls victim to his soul-mate! I really enjoyed the fact that, initially, both Clementine & Rafe don’t believe in the Whisper Valley ‘soul-wink’ that has made willing romantic ‘victims’ of the men of the Valentine family! An encounter with Clem swimming naked starts the change in Rafe’s feelings and the innocent hippie woman is soon making him fall hard & fast. Their romance develops in a really sweet way and makes an enjoyable read for any hopeful romantic. I loved the way that, after their HEA, the author teases the reader with the fact that this might not be the end of the ‘soul-wink’ saga…

I like the Whisper Valley Soulwink stories. They are always short, sweet, and a fun fairy tale escape from reality.
Clementine is a wanderer that came to visit her best friend Serenity. Rafe falls for her the minute he sees her, but doesn’t want to believe in the soulwink and fights his attraction to her. Both characters were likable and their romantic journey was very sweet with a very happily ever after.
Now that the Valentines are all taken, the author appears to be transferring the magic to a spinoff series involving twin flames.

A really fun enjoyable read!!!!
I have to go back and re read all the Whisper Valley stories, just to visit with good friends! I love every book by Megan Wade, they make you laugh, and you can’t put them down! In this one you get Clementine “Sugar”, and Rafe Valentine. Rafe is the last of the Valentine’s that is single and a “skeptic” about the “soul wink” theory. Clementine is Serenity’s long time friend who travels from place to place in her VW camper van. The sparks fly when these two meet, and they just might be soul mates if they give each other a chance! A very fun exciting read!

This is book number 4 of the Hermits & Curves series and focuses on Rafe and Clementine. Clementine is a close friend of Serenity (from book 2 of the series) and comes to Whisper Valley to visit. Rafe is the last single Valentine and is adamantly denying the concept of the soulwink and that he won’t be the next person to fall for it. Things change really fast for him when he meets Clementine. He tries to fight it, but it doesn’t take long for them to realize that they have found their one. This was a great story and a great addition to the series!

I thought that this book tied up the Valentine Brothers and Cousins nicely. Especially considering that Rafe denied that the Soulwink thing was real through his 4 cousins and his 3 brothers. Yet when it finally happened to him he jumped in with both feet and was professing his love within days of meeting Clem.
I loved the set up at the end for another spin-off series that keeps us in the Whisper Valley area. I also love the idea of the stones holding some of the magic power now that it's not the Valentine family. So looking forward to this new series - Halloween can't get here fast enough.

Rafe does not beleive in the Soulwink. However, the soul wink does not take no for an answer. Clementine rolls into town in hee vw van and shows up to a wedding in progress at the bar. She is here to see Serinity, her BFF but comes away with more than she expected. Rafe tries to fight the soulwink but Clem is it for him. Follow along and partake in his mistakes while he tries to avoid the inedible. Great way to end this installment of the soulwink society as he is the last Valentine standing. The next book starts the new continuation of the soulwink outside of the Valentine clan. See how it starts.

This book is part of a series but can be read as a standalone. The final man from the Valentine family has met his match! Rafe does not believe in instalove until he meets Clementine. At first, he thinks that her name is Sugar and calls her that for most of the book. Clem is a free spirit - living the life of a nomad.
This book was steamy and I loved every bit of this book. I loved, in particular, that the women are BBW. They are REAL women. Megan Wade tells a fabulous story for Rafe and Clem/Sugar.

The last of the Valentine men find their soulwick, but Rafe fights the fact hard. He was never a believer, when the others were all finding their soulwick wives. When he does make some headway with Clementine, he tells her to keep it to herself which leaves her believing, she was only a play thing. All he seemed to do was open mouth and insert foot. Would he ever get it right or would Clementine leave town? An exciting soulwick/twinflame story, but you need not fear it does not appear to be the last soulwick book. Great news for us fans.
