I tried reading this a few months ago, but it just didn’t click. Recently, I realized it’s by the same author who wrote FOG—which I LOVED—so I gave it another chance. Unfortunately, it still isn’t working for me. I’m dropping it at 16% because I don’t feel any chemistry between the main leads. I know it’s early, but I can already tell this couple isn’t for me.

the two mcs are lovable with their individual charms. i love yuyang and his resilience, being ruthless and single-minded in game but an absolute softie when it comes to qi zui. while qi zui on the other hand is like that viral trend on tiktok that goes, "the boyfriend of the quietest man you know." a true yapper at heart. he will be a menace to other people just so he can yap about their love story. he brags about his achievements and you cant even hate him bcs he has the skills to back it up.

this did not really hone in on the character angst which is understandable since this isnt slice of life or drama. at first, the tournaments are interesting and puts you on edge but the later the story goes, the less it feels high-stakes and im not really as glued to the story. also found family<3 always a sucker for it
