This books is quite good, even though it is not my cup of tea.
The first part of the book was more emotional, about past and I personally was ready that this setting will continue until the end. But, no. There is a big leap after that, and the setting changes a bit.
I’m still kinda confused with why MC forgot his martial arts, but okay, let’s say it’s a comedy undertone part. Yes, there is a comedy undertone here.
I very like the emotional side and characters development though the story. We can clearly feel emotions and they change. I especially like MC and how his character setting is. He first looks like a spoiled and simple guy, but it’s not true. He knows and see much and choose a very different approach to help ML with his internal pain and physiological pains and issues. Really, this setting and how MC decided to deal with it was very unique but wise at the same time.
I have some questions and feel some plot holes here, but okay. We can just skip those, I don’t want to dwell on. It’s there but not that bad.
I also really like how MC views and accepts ML. While it was still quite painful for me to read the ML POV extra.
I like this couple, really.
The plot and itself world building is quite average, but I finished it just because of the main couple and they relationship. Really a fresh novel for me. Maybe because I don’t read something like this, or maybe just because this novel itself is so unique.
Ameeeeeeeeeeee la historia de la pareja secundaria, una joyita. Para An Kai y Ah Jin, 10/10.
La novela es entretenida, pero la tuve en stand by durante un tiempo regular. Quizá también fue porque estaba con muchas responsabilidades... O qué se yo.
Entretenida, no es lo mejor que he leído en danmei, pero cumple 🫣.
Fun comedy with a surprising amount of actual serious plot mixed in. I liked all the characters in the main cast, and the story was interesting as well; they don't put too much effort into overall setting though, and I never did quite understand where one of the villains came from...
The first half was rather fun and interesting but the second half was nonsense. It’s not about the plot, but about incapability to built good characters with character development and deep psychological characterization, because it’s what the author tried to do but failed miserably.
I mean, first of all, the protagonist, if the cowardly, cute youthful boy made sense at the beginning of the story, it didn’t make any sense after he regained his memories of the past! No metter how you forgive your Psyco husband, all the traumas and horrible experience of the previous life should affect his personality and the way he saw the world!
But there are minimal to none changes. Other than being more tolerant with his Husband blackening, he was absolutely a useless protagonist.
And how is it that he actually forgot how to fight? Even if he had the system’s aid in the past, didn’t he have some muscle memories or remember how to fight? I mean, he doesn’t needs to be a good fighter, but at least the basic?! He couldn’t even fend off a normal woman without trainings and without capability of strategizing? That’s so stupid.
The ML should be this supreme overlord that could predict everything but your best solution was make you loved one suffer poisons and detoxify him? He can’t even do a surprise attack! And you still had to fight off all those puppets with only 2 people?
Da Bai’s downfall didn’t make any sense and lacked deep. And what was all that hate over black skin? That’s so racist.
The main villain was the most nonsensical of all. I mean, you got to deceive monsters and that was okay, but how is he capable of fending off a thousand years old demon lord AND a drought demon that had been the strongest general of his time, just because they are a little tired and he become a little younger?! Where is the logic?
The only thing that I really liked about this story was the side-story with the side couples.
