La historia es muy divertida y el arte muy hermoso pero los últimos caps no tuvieron un buen desarrollo narrativo. Me da la impresión de que quisieron abarcar mucho en pocos capítulos pero el número de capítulos no les dio para tanto. Muy entretenido.

this is a really strong start to when the villainess is in love. the art is so beautiful like every one of her dresses and outfits are stunning! the bar is in hell when i give points for the main characters being older than 18. i still don't enjoy korea's obsession with whiteness and weird age dynamics. there's a part in the first chapter where the fangirl (also the protagonist who gets isekai'd) is obsessing over another woman's blond hair, light eyes, and "clear translucent skin" aka paleness. she was doing all of that while degrading herself for not being those things and i didn't care for any of that crap. luckily, it only happened that one time and never happened again but all the more reason for it not to exist. the fangirl's actual body is terminally ill but if she recovers all of her memories, she will live. it's a smaller part of the story but it's also her main goal.

i loved everything else about the protagonist. she'd constantly swoon over the original villainess, other women, and the love interests and i was right there with her. the villainess, libertia, has a tragic background that made her a villainess in the eyes of high society but she's a great character! both libertia and the fangirl embraced her "villainy" aka just existing as a woman who voices her opinion and stands by them. she's trying to save herself from a bad ending as well as all of the main characters in the story who are supposed to die because of the hero and heroine of the story. all the while trying to get the most money out of her time in the imperial palace to set herself up to live a quiet life and i love that for her. in doing so, she changes the opinion of everyone who thought poorly of libertia before her soul swap. i also like that the fangirl protagonist either absolutely loves everyone or doesn't care about them and that she has nothing but hatred for the hero and heroine of the novel. she called out the "hero" for his toxicity and i hope she keeps it up.

i need this to get a physical release in the states. even if people didn't care about the story, it would make a beautiful art book alone.

season 2 review: man, we really lost the plot this season.

season 2 was nowhere near as well-developed, polished, and cohesive as season 1. after the introduction of probably the worst character to be added to the cast (daniel), this season's messages read as "smarmy and sanctimonious" in the same way that fruits basket does. lisha is constantly taking on the burden of every man's bullshit—especially daniel's—and doing emotional labor gymnastics. i'll excuse the first 3 guys because they had all of season 1 to get to know her, go on strolls with her, and have a meaningful relationship with lisha beyond trauma bonding. this season however??? the men kept making weird comments about how "special" she is for doing basic things like showing empathy, being nice to poor people, and sharing the tiniest fraction of her wealth. they would have been less shallow, better developed, and more likeable characters had they just touched grass on their own. it's sad to see the original 3 beauties fade into the background and become shadows of their former selves. what an annoying and exhausting read.

the romance might have been nice if the guy they were focused on this season didn't have the personality of a wet towel and they completely sidelined the rest of the harem. daniel is literally just hot and withholding (or "mysterious"). that's it. his trauma is his entire personality which does not make an interesting character. he's unlikable because he's patronizing towards lisha and all of humanity. whatever the equivalent of a pick-me is for a man, that's daniel wrapped up in a hot body and an edgelord attitude. it's also so funny that daniel is supposed to be an all-powerful "being" yet he's done nothing to prove he's anything but human and he gets clapped every time a fight occurs. the "romance" forced on readers this season would make it a colonizer romance which i'm not into. the writers tried to play off the situation like libertia and her kingdom didn't know they committed a war crime on daniel's family and kingdom by deflecting the blame to a random magical cult. it's such a weak way to excuse something as egregious as genocide. it'd be like saying the california government had no idea that silicon valley pillaged, plundered, and annexed its neighboring cities and counties. there's just no way. daniel is consumed by the gratuitous violence inflicted by his father in his childhood and the fact that the mc's kingdom colonized daniel's homeland makes whatever "romance" that exists even weirder.

i wish the plot had more structure and direction. this season was littered with filler chapters and moments, making it read like the worst and most boring parts of shounen anime because of how the same things were repeated ad nauseam. the writers also abused every annoying k-drama/soap opera trope in the book—from memory loss, to long lost siblings, to codependent men. they kept conveniently inserting random lore that was never mentioned anywhere prior to either create deus ex machina or manufacture an issue for lisha to fix and forget about. it read like plot padding for more "she's not like other girls" moments, exacerbated by lisha's "smile through the pain" toxic positivity and being more of a mom to the love interests rather than a prospective romance partner. they put no thought into developing the villain. he was just evil for the sake of it which i'd usually be tickled about but he was annoying, repetitive, aimless, and his presence was brief and inconsequential. nothing of consequence happens for the men and all of the characters are the same people they were at the start of the season. the writers should've stuck to the cozy formula that made this a great read for season 1 and never should have attempted to turn the story into a high-stakes narrative. it became just another boring k-drama with tons of trauma bonding and nothing else. i'm sad they lost the secret sauce from season 1 that made this series special.

i'm glad that the brother isn't propped up as a love interest like so many popular harem villainess series tend to do and everyone gets a romantic ending with lisha in their own timelines. however brief it may have been, i also enjoyed the (spoiler) almost-sapphic approach they took with ariel but they should have gone further. i also wish they didn't go with the long lost sibling story because i was really shipping lisha with libertia. cozy sapphic stories are unheard of in korean villainess manhwa but i'll keep dreaming. the art is still stunning and the outfits are inspiring. i'd still buy a physical edition for that alone. the art team rocks.

The premise was very promising, but I can't help but feel disappointed with the progression of the story. I can bear with my chosen male lead not being the endgame, but the actual male lead was rather... underwhelming for me. I couldn't feel their chemistry much, other than visually. The character personalities are still interesting to me, though, and this does not affect much of my interest in the plot. I'm staying for (new) Libertia's silly antics, and (real) Libertia's memories that are yet to be known .

I must also say that the art is very beautiful.

The story is exciting from the beginning. It has a great start and I already enjoy and love the introduced characters. But then, during the middle part of the story, it went down especially after Daniel was introduced to the leader. I was expecting that the love triangle would be between Libertia, Eugene, and Cain. Based on his introduction, I thought that Eugene would be the Male Lead, but I was shocked when it turned out that Daniel was the Male Lead. I also find the story a mess. I also hated that after Daniel was introduced, Eugene, Cain, and Herrace then had limited screen time in the manhwa. I found it a waste because there's a build-up already that was created but it went down suddenly. I also hated how Litia kept on doing things in her way, not minding the people around her or not even listening to their opinions.

First season ch 1-50 is more of a set up it gets better and picks up from here onwards. It is typical light and fluffy stuff besides fl coughing up blood and fainting. My fav part is her fangirling over the world and hot guys hahahaha so relatable.
