Bunyan unfolds the sweetness of "the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge." He skillfully applies its importance for both the calloused unbeliever and the doubting but sincere Christian.
John Bunyan, a Christian writer and preacher, was born at Harrowden (one mile south-east of Bedford), in the Parish of Elstow, England. He wrote The Pilgrim's Progress, arguably the most famous published Christian allegory. In the Church of England he is remembered with a Lesser Festival on 30 August.
Took me actually 6 months to read. Had to force myself to finish this before allowing myself to read/start anything else😅 Was good though, the immense love of Christ in totality is unknowable, but it is so so sweet. Praise God for John Bunyan.. not so much for old English.
A wonderful reflection on one of my favorite passages.Ephesians 3:16–19 (ESV) 16 that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, 19 and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
