A woman like Margaux could never be overlooked. As if her luscious hourglass shape, and sultry walk as she prowled Club Sin weren't enough to steal the attention of every path she crossed; her regal grace commanded it. Despite her proclivity for collecting "little pets," something primal in me desperately wanted to see her kneel. For me.

This book made no sense. The scenes were steamy but no explanation was given as to why Margeux shut them out. And I've read enough of these books to question how a Domme doesn't realize that she is a switch. The whole plot was murky and strange.
I didn't like how Gideon: 1) manipulated the room situation to 'get her out of her comfort zone' when he knew nothing about the female lead or her subs so he didn't know if that was even a needful thing, let alone a good thing, or if it could have been a bad thing and possibly triggering for her and/or her subs (worse, it wasn't even necessary to the story; the exact same scenario could have played out within their regular room) 2) inserted himself into her relationship with her two subs without invitation, disclosing his deception, how it may have played a part in the evening's mess and, most importantly, his own interest in her 3) got them to circumvent the club rules of a one month cooling off period 4) directed their in-person confrontation, again, without invitation, as if he was now in charge of their relationship
It was dishonest, irresponsible and exploitive which, to me, made him a bad dom and undeserving of a happily ever after.
Also, the sex scene between the four of them felt creepy and wrong. 1) there was no discussion beforehand of Gideon joining anything, let alone limits and boundaries 2) it was suppose to be about the female lead connecting with her subs in a non-scene, more personal way but it became all about Gideon 3) Gideon didn't disclose his manipulations beforehand (he never actually does) 4) Gideon made assumptions without a shred of evidence, let alone verbal verification 5) Gideon, after saying this was not a scene when one of the subs acted subservient to her, turned it into one by domming one of her subs as if it was okay for him to dominate the others but not her; and he did it without so much as a by-your-leave from anyone 6) her subs were suddenly pimping her out to Gideon without knowing how she felt about including, let alone doing, another dom (her enjoying him watching did not equal her wanting him to join) 7) Gideon taking over the whole thing, especially after she made it clear that was crossing a line, was disrespectful and just plain obnoxious 8) Gideon told the female lead it wasn't about topping and bottoming and then treated her like a bottom, using an infantalizing nickname, issuing orders to her and claiming body parts as 'his'
And, at the end, where the three men ambushed and ganged up on her without her consent (as far as she knew she was just meeting Gideon for some play) was a violation of trust and irresponsible. And her subs forcibly restraining her and threatening to walk away if she, their frickin' Mistress, didn't submit to them, was every type of wrong (as was one of them asking Gideon's, permission, not her, if he could mount her).
Oh, and making her issue all about without any defining backstory to it was just cheap and shallow. And having her get over what was presented as some deep psychological issue with one fucking session was an insult to the reader's intelligence.
And the switch thing wasn't even discussed, let alone explored. Neither was the dynamic of both of them domming. Nope, in the epilogue, she's and her subs are just all shown as submissive to him.
So disappointing after the author's amazing 'Room Thirteen: Bred by the Bears' (which I highly recommend).
The best part of this tale is how the true human connections felt by our protagonists are so genuinely raw and honest. The diversity of career options, body types, and social expectations for all players speaks truth to reality of the lifestyle. Sooooo, soooo, sooooo destroyed my good panties for sure. As a reading fanatic and passionate English teacher, my one complaint is the barage of blatant grammatical mishaps that distract from the overall writing genius that is Jenna Thalia. So... if you ever read this Mistress Thalia, I would LOVE to offer my proofreading services to you free of charge. Let me be your final eyes before publication as a grammar quality assurance check. You will NOT regret it. I eagerly await your next relsease.
I think this is the best one in the series (I have 1 left). I love the dynamics and the idea of a switch. The way G manages to balance the 4 of them is incredible.
Margaux has a standing date at Club Sin every Wednesday in Room Twenty with her two precious toys. This has been going on for a year now. The men want more but she says she doesn't want a good thing ruined. Well. Just wait and see what happens.
