Messy Grieving is the journey of a mom who lost her 18-year-old son to murder and how she is healing. You will find ways to navigate your own, messy grief expedition. See how to take care of yourself and let others in, get through the day when you need to work, feel your feelings and declutter a loved ones possessions. All with grace and an understanding that no one’s grief experience is the same.
I’ve followed Beth through her online newsletter for years. I knew some of her story, and have benefitted from her procrastination course and weekly simplicity tips. I recently saw she’d published a new book, and it seemed in line with some things I’ve been going to counseling over.
First, let me say that I read a lot. I’ve read several books on grief, and although good, I’ve not connected to them much. But Beth’s book is what I needed to read right now. Short chapters, straightforward tips and advice, and conversational writing style. There are 31 short stories, so I can imagine reading this again as a monthly “devotional” of sorts. Her words were helpful to my soul!
I’ve not read many self-published books before, so the typos really stuck out to me. That said, I would definitely still recommend this book to anyone grieving!
I highly recommend this book to anyone grieving the loss of a loved one. Beth does an excellent job being vulnerable with her experience and what she has found that works.
