You may not know it, but you have a shadow self. NO, not your shadow you see on the ground. . Your shadow self is the side of you that you try to hide from others. When we are children we are cognitively programmed to absorb the world around us like a sponge. We soak up knowledge at an incredible speed in our developmental stages of childhood. Unfortunately, we can soak up the negative energies of our environment, as well as experience trauma we aren’t ready for at such a young impressionable age. This is where our shadow self comes into play. Anger, jealousy, competitiveness, the need to be praised; all of these traits and more come from our shadow self.
