Togetr4Succes is, as the title says, a definite guide on how to sustain parent involvement in your school. This book involves simple tools for this. I think that this book could be really helpful for teachers on the subject of "teacher management".
How to break the barrier between the teacher and the parent is a very important task. This is so the parents know more about their children, what their current achievements are and how they are proceeding in their education. To add, the book addresses on how the teacher-parent dynamic can collaborate together into improving and/or maintaining the children's line of success and discussing their roadblocks and how to change them.
As I've read this book, I've realized, as the author stated, as well, that the missing link for the kids' success is their parents' involvement. If we really think about it, if the parent realizes, from the teacher perspective, what the tendencies and peers from their children are and how they can stimulate them, children could have a positive impact in their lives and their passion. I have been a teacher for 8 years and one thing teachers have always struggling with is parental communication and involvement. During COVID, parents were allowed in the building and there was little interaction.
Unless you work open-close (I work at a pre-k center) then you miss the most important parts of the child’s day. The together for success approach finally works on where it is currently going wrong in the system and how to fix it. My favorite part of the book is where it details a starting point for everything- a 90 minute workshop group where childcare is provided on site. The group will work on removing barriers and facilitating communication. As we as creating partnerships through team building activities. This book could not have possibly been written at a better time. Parents and teachers alike will find this book useful.

I truly believe that if anyone feels uncomfortable with a situation, what they must do is to get involved, in every sphere of life. "The missing link" is a perfect guide that will help parents to be part of children's education. Eric Robinson has penned an engaging and interesting guide full of pieces of advice to consider, experiences and theory that back up every chapter.
It's well-written, complete and simple to follow Eric's ideas. As I am working with children, I found it useful; I learned different ways to invite and talk to parents when necessary. Through several workshops between teachers, parents and administrators, you'll understand the reasons for lack of parental involvement, how it affects children but also, you'll find ways of changing that and the outcomes this change brings. In a nutshell, it's a must.

This is an excellent work written by Eric Robinsson about the cooperative education of children. As parents, we tend to think that the more expensive and sophisticated the school we send our kids to is, the better the education they acquire, and we feel satisfied with that idea. Our complicated routines, the exhausting days at work and the lack of time don’t let us appreciate what is important for our children.
With this great book we can understand how essential cooperative work between family and teachers is. This kind of approach to education produces excellent results. As a parent who works and travels its often hard to feel connected to my kids school life. Eric Robinson presents this book as a plan that teachers and parents can use to get more connected and engaged with the daily ongoings at school. More than just lecturing about why it needs to be done, he actually brings worksheets and the tools needed to help develop long term plans to engage both groups.
Example activities are presented, fundraisers, Parent-Teacher conferences, chaperoning field trips. All of these are good examples that many of us working parents just don’t seem to have the time for. Togetr4success The Missing Link is a book that every parent should read. One of the challenges education faces nowadays is the interaction between parents, teachers, and students. This communication must happen in order to guide the students properly so they get the most of the experience, learning meaningful content that satisfies their parents while making sure our kids get everything they need to succeed in their future adult life.
I think the concepts developed by Eric Robinson are fundamental, building a bridge in the teacher-parent equation. During my own experience as a teacher, I found myself many times in this dilemma, and I'm sure the solution lies in communication. Eric Robinson, a former school social worker, decided to put all his knowledge and years of experience together and came up with this fantastic book called TogetR4Success The Missing Link. The book is meant to educate the reader on the specific part of parental involvement in the kid's education. By explaining different procedures, Robinson creates a guide to break that barrier, not only with parents but with teachers as well.
I got this book because I struggled to connect with my kids and help them understand and learn better, so I decided to give it a go, and I am so glad I did. Robinson provides a blast of information and he explains it very simply. I can now say I feel way better when it comes to my school relationship with the kids—highly recommended.

I absolutely enjoyed this well-thought-out book and as I see it, it’s so important to have a positive communication between parents and teachers that it should be a mandatory read in every school. This title explains in a very clear and educational way why it’s failing the relationship between these two parts nowadays.
Eric Robinson is an author with a huge talent and as he’s passionate about education, he transmits very important and useful information in an easy-to-understand manner. The whole book is well written and the narrative is completely engaging. I have to confess that I finished the reading in one sitting.

It’s an absolutely empathetic, thought provoking and clear piece. It’s obvious that Eric Robinson has captured the essence and importance of the communication between the institution and the families which in many cases is non-existent.
Personally, I felt that in one or two pages some irrelevant details were mentioned, however it’s a well-developed book that caught my interest.
This is the first time I read something written by this author, but it will certainly not be the last. His knowledge and clear explanations left me wanting more.

Learning starts at home.
I know because that is where I first learned my ABC’s from my mom. My parents are so involved with my education that my mom makes my own mock exams, not the ones that you can buy from the store. I am so glad that there is a book like this which I can reference with my teacher friends and my friends who have kids, who might have some struggles at school. I like how this book is presented; it has activities and videos on how to execute learning at home. It is easy to follow and implement. With the COVID situation, parents were kind of forced to be more involved with their children's education and some parents struggled, if they were just a little bit more prepared it would have been better - this book bridges that gap! I highly recommend it!

This is a book about the blockades between teachers and parents that prevents their children from learning to the best of their abilities. It provides in-depth analysis and advice on how teachers and parents can form better lines of communication with each other so their child's education flourishes. It guided me on how to better understand teachers and how to work them efficiently, although the main premise of the book is for teachers on how to gauge parent involvement, it also works for parents. The way Eric Robinson addresses the different bridges and adversities in this book is phenomenal. His years of being a school social worker really shined through whilst reading this book!

Rather than stopping at defining parental involvement—often manifested as attending parent-teacher conferences, PTA meetings, field trips, and classroom volunteer shifts as well as being involved in coursework—and giving examples of how to bring parents into the classroom, it gives steps to sustainably hold parental presence. It’s not a common topic for an educational resource book, but it’s a very important one. There’s enough talk of monster parents or absent parents going around. I loved giving this a read through!

After Reading this book, I gave my sister one as a gift because of the work she does. It is going to help her surf the educational system and the dynamic between the student, their family and the teacher. She is a great believer of that, so I think this book offers a lot of tools and information very valuable to teachers specifically.
What I love about the book is that even though it is centered in bringing parents closer to the school, the main focus, the main goal is better the experience of the student. Help them develop and be open to learning.

Great book on parent involvement
This book taught me a lot about how to sustain parent involvement in schools. I remember growing up and my parents involvement in school was never really consistent. Now reading this book, I understand that my parents probably didn’t know how to sustain their involvement. Eric Robinson addresses the causes behind the lack of consistent parent and teacher contact. He says that it requires gathering information, which is sometimes difficult to do. He also addresses how our perception of what we value will help give importance to those things. I learned a lot from this book and I highly recommend it.
