This book aims to make teaching more manageable and effective when achieving learning the missing link to realizing these outcomes is parent involvement. Addressing the causes behind the lack of consistent parent and teacher contact requires gathering information regarding the frequency and quality of communication before, during, and after teachers and parents engage in workshops. This book addresses existing barriers to parental involvement in their children’s education, beginning with building bridges between parents and teachers, those on the frontlines of students’ education. The TogetR4Success method uses workshops to break the ice between teachers so they can discuss roadblocks to children’s ability to focus so they will be engaged and succeed for all ages in all schools. These workshops serve as a place for parents, teachers, and administrators to find common ground so they can build community to better set up the children in their care for future success. What makes this book different, and why is it essential that you read it and share it with people who are passionate about our children’s future? If you are frustrated hearing people repeatedly recite the problem or you are sick and tired of reading books that offer historical research and espousing the importance of parent involvement in schools with no real or tangible solutions, this book is a call to action.
Togetr4Success: The Missing Link provides realistic and simplified techniques with the aim of sustaining parent involvement in school. The book analyzes the barriers that prohibit parents from being less involved in the holistic well-being of their child. While the responsibility of education is perceived to be the sole role of teachers, Togetr4Success: The Missing Link advocates for higher parent participation. The author postulates that “ parent involvement in school was the missing link when it came to academic achievement.”
The book provides ten workshops and challenges aimed at strengthening and fostering parent involvement. The resources in the book includes Parent-Teacher Surveys, Teacher Surveys, Parent Surveys and other forms which are useful in creating an effective action plan. There is no more prodigious challenge than that of educating children and the role of parents should never be underestimated. This books highlights the benefits of cooperation and illustrates that communication is integral and should be the ultimate goal.
Togetr4Success: The Missing Link gives advice for families, however, each family is different as is their needs which will vary. Each family can choose for themselves what is worth implementing but Togetr4Success: The Missing Link provides suggestions in the form of workshops which is a step in the right direction toward sustainable parental involvement.
Togetr4Succes is, as the title says, a definite guide on how to sustain parent involvement in your school. This book involves simple tools for this. I think that this book could be really helpful for teachers on the subject of "teacher management".
How to break the barrier between the teacher and the parent is a very important task. This is so the parents know more about their children, what their current achievements are and how they are proceeding in their education. To add, the book addresses on how the teacher-parent dynamic can collaborate together into improving and/or maintaining the children's line of success and discussing their roadblocks and how to change them.
As I've read this book, I've realized, as the author stated, as well, that the missing link for the kids' success is their parents' involvement. If we really think about it, if the parent realizes, from the teacher perspective, what the tendencies and peers from their children are and how they can stimulate them, children could have a positive impact in their lives and their passion. For example, if a music teacher informs a young girl's parents that she seems to have facilitation for the violin, and she also likes the instrument, the parents should encourage them to start or continue lessons for her.

This resourceful guide is a must read to better help our children and to attain best possible educational outcome.
“TOGETR4SUCCESS THE MISSING LINK” written by Eric Robinsson is an amazing book in which he explains how everyone and anyone involved in a child’s education can work together as a team in order to achieve the best learning atmosphere and educational environment possible. He does this not only by showing and underlining the problems of not working together but also by actually naming practical solutions to the problem. Especially the teamwork between teacher, parents and administrators is sustained by the author. And it really seems to be the key, as those people have a huge influence on those young humans that are very susceptible to their surroundings. Meaning that anyone treating a child has a huge responsibility to carry and it is important to be aware of this. I can really recommend this book and urge anyone dealing with children or teenagers to take a look at the pages. It might be more helpful than you think.
I have been a teacher for 8 years and one thing teachers have always struggling with is parental communication and involvement. During COVID, parents were allowed in the building and there was little interaction.
Unless you work open-close (I work at a pre-k center) then you miss the most important parts of the child’s day. The together for success approach finally works on where it is currently going wrong in the system and how to fix it. My favorite part of the book is where it details a starting point for everything- a 90 minute workshop group where childcare is provided on site. The group will work on removing barriers and facilitating communication. As we as creating partnerships through team building activities. This book could not have possibly been written at a better time. Parents and teachers alike will find this book useful.
The perfect guide I truly believe that if anyone feels uncomfortable with a situation, what they must do is to get involved, in every sphere of life. "The missing link" is a perfect guide that will help parents to be part of children's education. Eric Robinson has penned an engaging and interesting guide full of pieces of advice to consider, experiences and theory that back up every chapter. It's well-written, complete and simple to follow Eric's ideas. As I am working with children, I found it useful; I learned different ways to invite and talk to parents when necessary. Through several workshops between teachers, parents and administrators, you'll understand the reasons for lack of parental involvement, how it affects children but also, you'll find ways of changing that and the outcomes this change brings. In a nutshell, it's a must.
This is an excellent work written by Eric Robinsson about the cooperative education of children. As parents, we tend to think that the more expensive and sophisticated the school we send our kids to is, the better the education they acquire, and we feel satisfied with that idea. Our complicated routines, the exhausting days at work and the lack of time don’t let us appreciate what is important for our children. With this great book we can understand how essential cooperative work between family and teachers is. This kind of approach to education produces excellent results. The author proposes to create a special workshop to give place to the communication between parents, teachers and administrators in order to reach common grounds. This would lead to the construction of a community to provide support and build a better future for our kids.
Eric Robinson has extensive experience in the education field, witnessing first-hand how troublesome a child’s experience may be if they don’t have parents who engage in his/her education. In Togetr4Sucess – The Missing Link, the author discusses the roadblocks that children may face and what teachers and parents can do to break those barriers.
Of course, nothing in educating children is easy. There may be plenty of reasons for the parents not to be involved, but it takes a village to raise a child, and if everyone does their part we are in for success. This book offers great tips and advice in the form of workshops that will help parental involvement in a sustained way. The writing is simple, clear, and straightforward, making it a quick read, and easy to understand and put into practice.
As a parent who works and travels its often hard to feel connected to my kids school life. Eric Robinson presents this book as a plan that teachers and parents can use to get more connected and engaged with the daily ongoings at school. More than just lecturing about why it needs to be done, he actually brings worksheets and the tools needed to help develop long term plans to engage both groups.
Example activities are presented, fundraisers, Parent-Teacher conferences, chaperoning field trips. All of these are good examples that many of us working parents just don’t seem to have the time for. By presenting this as not only good for the family, but also good for the community it helps to drive both teacher and parents to work together.
Education is one of those topics that is hotly debated as to the best methods for success, but often without the positive outcome hoped for. However, in TOGETR4SUCCESS THE MISSING LINK: A definitive guide on how to sustain parent involvement in your school author Eric Robinson proposes a different approach to this age-old problem. A great resource for educators and parents alike, Togetr4success The Missing Link provides a realistic solution to a well-known problem in education.
Same as any relationship, I think that the base of success is the communication. And in this case, a solid communication between parents and teachers is the key of not only a good relationship between them, but also the key of educational achievements.
“TogetR4Success the missing link” by Eric Robinson is a useful guide to sustain parent involvement in educational institutions. This author offers a smart method to build bridges between parents and teachers and thus, make community; with the final aim of achieving learning outcomes in future generations.

Togetr4success The Missing Link is a book that every parent should read. One of the challenges education faces nowadays is the interaction between parents, teachers, and students. This communication must happen in order to guide the students properly so they get the most of the experience, learning meaningful content that satisfies their parents while making sure our kids get everything they need to succeed in their future adult life.
I think the concepts developed by Eric Robinson are fundamental, building a bridge in the teacher-parent equation. During my own experience as a teacher, I found myself many times in this dilemma, and I'm sure the solution lies in communication. Trying to find a common ground is the best way to do it, in my opinion.
How to make students learn? This is a frequent question that many ask themselves. As we well know, it is not the only task of teachers, but over the years we have seen that several factors come into play in this process; the teachers, the students, the content to be taught, the parents, etc. Although it may seem strange to us, parents/families are one of the fundamental elements for students to acquire knowledge. In "TOGETR4SUCCESS THE MISSING LINK", author Eric Robinson explains, in a very simple and concise way, the importance of parent involvement in student learning. I invite everyone to read this interesting book on education and how we can make simple changes to ensure that students have a meaningful learning.
Eric Robinson, a former school social worker, decided to put all his knowledge and years of experience together and came up with this fantastic book called TogetR4Success The Missing Link. The book is meant to educate the reader on the specific part of parental involvement in the kid's education. By explaining different procedures, Robinson creates a guide to break that barrier, not only with parents but with teachers as well. I got this book because I struggled to connect with my kids and help them understand and learn better, so I decided to give it a go, and I am so glad I did. Robinson provides a blast of information and he explains it very simply. I can now say I feel way better when it comes to my school relationship with the kids—highly recommended.
The focus of educational psychology is on behavior and thought processes that relate to the educational setting.

Loaded with workshops and activities for parents and teachers to do, the connection between them becomes easier and the result would definitely arrive sooner than expected. Togetr4success The Missing Link: A definitive guide on how to sustain parent involvement in your school by Eric Robinson is a book that proposes a way to improve communication and involvement between parents and teachers. It doesn't offer historical and research data, but it offers concrete ideas to carry out. I think this book is useful for both parents and teachers because it has useful information that is organized in a dynamic and easy to understand way. It is very valuable, especially after the pandemic, which showed us the importance of schools and families working together. I definitely recommend it! It can be the beginning of a real change in the education of students!
I absolutely enjoyed this well-thought-out book and as I see it, it’s so important to have a positive communication between parents and teachers that it should be a mandatory read in every school. This title explains in a very clear and educational way why it’s failing the relationship between these two parts nowadays. Eric Robinson is an author with a huge talent and as he’s passionate about education, he transmits very important and useful information in an easy-to-understand manner. The whole book is well written and the narrative is completely engaging. I have to confess that I finished the reading in one sitting. I highly recommend “Togetr4success the Missing Link” for any teacher or parent.
“Toget4success the Missing Link” is an excellent and clever resource that shows to the reader several ways to keep the parents actively involved in the school. It’s an absolutely empathetic, thought provoking and clear piece. It’s obvious that Eric Robinson has captured the essence and importance of the communication between the institution and the families which in many cases is non-existent. Personally, I felt that in one or two pages some irrelevant details were mentioned, however it’s a well-developed book that caught my interest. This is the first time I read something written by this author, but it will certainly not be the last. His knowledge and clear explanations left me wanting more.
I know because that is where I first learned my ABC’s from my mom. My parents are so involved with my education that my mom makes my own mock exams, not the ones that you can buy from the store. I am so glad that there is a book like this which I can reference with my teacher friends and my friends who have kids, who might have some struggles at school. I like how this book is presented; it has activities and videos on how to execute learning at home. It is easy to follow and implement. With the COVID situation, parents were kind of forced to be more involved with their children's education and some parents struggled, if they were just a little bit more prepared it would have been better - this book bridges that gap! I highly recommend it!
This is a book about the blockades between teachers and parents that prevents their children from learning to the best of their abilities. It provides in-depth analysis and advice on how teachers and parents can form better lines of communication with each other so their child's education flourishes. It guided me on how to better understand teachers and how to work them efficiently, although the main premise of the book is for teachers on how to gauge parent involvement, it also works for parents. The way Eric Robinson addresses the different bridges and adversities in this book is phenomenal. His years of being a school social worker really shined through whilst reading this book!
The Missing Link—Parent and Teacher Involvement: A Definitive Guide on How to Sustain Parent Involvement in Your School by Eric Robinson is a guide to parent involvement using TogetR4Success workshops. I like that it is a literal step-by-step guide. Rather than stopping at defining parental involvement—often manifested as attending parent-teacher conferences, PTA meetings, field trips, and classroom volunteer shifts as well as being involved in coursework—and giving examples of how to bring parents into the classroom, it gives steps to sustainably hold parental presence. It’s not a common topic for an educational resource book, but it’s a very important one. There’s enough talk of monster parents or absent parents going around. I loved giving this a read through!
“TOGETR4SUCCESS THE MISSING LINK: A definitive guide on how to sustain parent involvement in your school” by Eric Robinson is the perfect book for both parents and teachers. Robinson teaches his audience to act and be present when the little ones come into question.
The aim of this reader is to achieve involvement. For this reason, it makes a good read for tutors, parents, caregivers, and school staff. The author includes his own experience on the subject, and expresses his ideas in a clear and simple way. The chapters are short and easy to read.
I consider this book to be of great importance in the education field, so I give it five stars!
After Reading this book, I gave my sister one as a gift because of the work she does. It is going to help her surf the educational system and the dynamic between the student, their family and the teacher. She is a great believer of that, so I think this book offers a lot of tools and information very valuable to teachers specifically.
What I love about the book is that even though it is centered in bringing parents closer to the school, the main focus, the main goal is better the experience of the student. Help them develop and be open to learning.
I think "Togetr4success the Missing Link" is a great read!
This book taught me a lot about how to sustain parent involvement in schools. I remember growing up and my parents involvement in school was never really consistent. Now reading this book, I understand that my parents probably didn’t know how to sustain their involvement. Eric Robinson addresses the causes behind the lack of consistent parent and teacher contact. He says that it requires gathering information, which is sometimes difficult to do. He also addresses how our perception of what we value will help give importance to those things. I learned a lot from this book and I highly recommend it.
