Four more days until this is released. I can't wait to share Adele and Brian's story with you. The inspiration for this story came from an experience I had and I did the 'what if' game. I'm always thinking 'what if'. It's a great jumping point to any story. So what if a deputy US marshal asked a judge out and she turned him down, then he's assigned to protect her against a relentless threat. Ohhh, it was fun throwing these two together. I hope you enjoy.
I LOVE this book! I was pulled in on page 1 and kept reading (staying up past my bedtime!) until I finished it! It was action-packed and kept me on the edge of my seat. And I LOVE Adele's and Brian's relationship! The way that they teased each other kept me smiling and even laughing. In fact, I was still smiling when the book ended, and I didn't want it to end. I HIGHLY recommend this one!
Terri Reed is one of those suspense writers who throws her audience (or readers) right smack in the middle of the action. That is exactly what she does in “Forced to Hide” and I love it! From the start, you can feel the tension as Judge Adele Weston prepares to enter her courtroom right up to the moment the first bomb goes off. Chaos ensues afterwards as you would expect! Enter our hero, Brian Forrester, who is assigned to protect Adele & stick by her side no matter what. She certainly doesn’t make it easy on him to do his job, but must cooperate so he can find the bomber & person behind subsequent attacks. Will they be successful or will time run out like the ticking of a bomb (pun intended)?
This one has all the elements of a suspense story that I love; tense action, edge-of-your-seat roller coaster ride feeling, and the fun of solving who the bad guy is. Reed kept me on my toes trying to figure it out! What I also love about Inspirational suspense is the faith thread & there was no lack of it here. Especially as Adele clung to her faith in God when things became downright dangerous!
She would have to trust that God would see her through this. Her faith in Jesus had never let her down. Sometimes her faith was the only way she managed to get through the day. ~page 62
It reminds me that I, too, can trust God in my deepest needs and my faith in Jesus will sustain me no matter what. I love when authors remind me of these truths!
Faith, hope and love are strong themes in “Forced to Hide” along with a story to keep your heart racing & turning pages!
*I received a complimentary copy from the author. I was not obligated to leave a favorable review & all opinions are mine.*
"Forced to Hide" by Terri Reed is the latest novel in the Love Inspired Suspense - Inspirational Romance series. As with the previous novels that I have read by Terri Reed, "Forced to Hide" did not disappoint! In Ms. Reed's latest novel, the reader is introduced to Judge Adele Weston and reintroduced to U.S. Marshal Brian Forrester (he played a minor role in Ms. Reed's previous novel, "Forced to Flee"). Someone wants Judge Weston dead, but who? There are numerous suspects: convicted felons from previous cases, an ex-boyfriend that she testified against, who is up for parole, and a cartel leader that has taken over for her father. The possibilities are endless. U.S. Marshall Forrester is assigned to protect Judge Weston, until an arrest is made. Will they be able to keep their relationship on a professional level, even though they both admit to stronger feelings? Ms. Reed has a gift for writing novels that are intriguing with realistic characters. There are not enough authors that write novels without the use of profanity and morals. Ms. Reed's novels are enjoyable reads. Her novels are also written in a way, that if you have not read a previous novel in this series, you will not be lost is the storyline, each novel stands alone. "Forced to Hide" will be available on January 24, 2023. However, you can reserve your copy now. I definitely recommend adding this novel and previous Terri Reed novels to your tbr (to be read) list!
Forced to Hide is written by Terri Reed. This is part of the Love Inspired Suspense line. I have read books by this author before and have always loved them.
This book starts off with a band. Literally. Judge Adele Weston is getting ready to preside over jury selection for a major cartel trial when she bumps her knees under the desk and discovers there is a bomb. Suddenly when the room is evacuated US Marshal, Brian Forrester is right beside her when the bomb goes off. Brian had previously asked Adele out for a date and was turned down. Suddenly he finds himself on 24/7 protection detail for the Judge.
Who could be behind the bomb? Is Adele the intended target? Or is someone trying to take out the cartel leader? Suddenly Adele and Brian find themselves having to run for their lives.
Adele’s rescue Dalmatian, Scout is one of my favorite characters. He is loyal to Adele and a great protector. The author did such an amazing job with leaving crumbs to think that everyone is guilty. The heart pounding action and suspense will keep you engaged right from the start.
Thank you to the author and publisher for allowing me to read a copy of this book. All thoughts are my own.
Forced to Hide is the latest action-packed Love Inspired Suspense release by Terri Reed. I love Terri's books and this one did not disappoint. It has elements of faith, family and friendship plus a lot of suspense that kept me turning the pages.
This story follows Forced to Flee so I would recommend reading that book first but it is not necessary to enjoy this book.
I received a complimentary copy of the book in exchange for my honest review. A positive review was not required and all opinions are my own.
I loved this fast-paced story about a judge being targeted by someone and then guarded by the US Marshal's service. Any kind of law enforcement story is my favorite, but something written by this author is extra good! I love learning about all the duties of the various branches of law enforcement and I knew that the US Marshals were tasked with guarding judges but seeing it in action was very enlightening. Adele is a judge and discovers a bomb under her bench as she's about to begin a trial! Now, that would be scary since she has a whole courtroom full of people! Brian Forrester is the US Marshal who is assigned to guard her which is a little uncomfortable for him since he had asked her out previously and she told him "no"! But, he's a professional and will do his job. Soon, he and Adele have to go on the run because the person trying to kill her always seems to find them! There is a lot of action but still, a lot of character development. Adele has a past experience that makes her leery of men so being in a relationship isn't something she wants. Brian didn't have a great experience with his parents, so he doesn't want a relationship either. I'm thinking that will change after being on the run with these two!
I love this series so I was thrilled to finally read Brian's story. The first chapter was brilliant. It introduced both characters, brought in the suspense immediately and somehow managed to end on a romantic note. I only wish the Dalmatian dog named Scout was in more scenes :-)
My review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, Forced to Hide. Terri is one of my favorite LIS authors. I'm always glad to get one of her books in the mail. This story is well-written, action-packed, and full of faith. It's an awesome book and I know you are going to love it.
Judge Adele Weston is about to go to trial with a dangerous drug cartel kingpin when she discovers a bomb under her desk. "We must evacuate!" she cried. As she is heading to her chamber the bomb explodes along with several others. Is she the target or the man on trial?
US Marshal Brian Forrester is called to protect the judge. It was the last job he wanted. He had once asked Adele out and had been rejected but he couldn't tell his boss that. Can he keep her safe without loosing his heart?
A dangerous journey across Texas as they are running from an unknown killer. God has a plan for these two a plan for hope and a future. God has a plan for you too. a good plan for peace and not for evil even in this time of political unrest. Give Him your heart and watch Him move in your life.
This book was fantastic! When bombs started threatening Judge Adele Weston, US Marshall Gavin Armstrong assigned Deputy US Marshall Brian Forrester the task of protecting the judge. Brian tried to get out of it, but to no avail. That was due to a prior issue with the judge. As time continued, more and more threats happened, and required the assistance of Jace Armstrong and other Marshalls. Adele had issues she wasn’t willing to reveal. The threats continued and it became more complicated to try and solve. Can Brian and the other US Marshalls stop the quest to kill Adele, and can Brian and Adele solve the issues between them? Buy this book and find out, you will not be disappointed, I can assure you. I loved this book, I’m starting to read it a second time. I was provided an advance copy for an honest review.
This was the first book I read by Terri Reed and I am definitely looking forward to reading more books from this author. I was pulled in from the first page and the gripping suspense and non stop action didn’t let up until the end with a satisfying conclusion. Judge Adele Weston’s life is continuously being threatened. US Marshall Brian Forrester is assigned to protect her at all costs. Brian was strong, rugged and a swoon worthy hero. Adele had to deal with past trauma and anxiety. She remained strong and focused despite adverse conditions. This couple worked together to survive and find out who Adele’s assailants were. I enjoyed following Adele and Brian’s harrowing journey toward a happily ever after.
I almost didn't finish reading this book. In the first chapter there were many inaccuracies about federal courts and security... The formal opening for the court session was incorrect. It should have been ... The United States District Court for the Western District of Texas is now in session. The Honorable Adele Weston presiding. Federal courts don't have bailiffs. They have court room deputies. For security they have court security officers. U.S. Marshal Service controls judicial security and security for the court house... The protection detail for the Judge wouldn't use private residences.
Terri Reed writes a story full of action and suspense that had me turning the pages to see what would happen next! There are good characters, good storyline, and a satisfying g ending! Judge Adele Weston is about to preside in court when her leg bumps something under the desk. Seeing the blinking lights she realizes it’s a bomb! Is someone trying to kill her, or a cartel member? US marshal Brian Forrester is tasked with keeping the Judge safe and it soon becomes clear that she is the target of multiple attempts on her life. Who is after Adele, and can he keep her alive?
All action book begins with the courtroom bomb and then being shot at in the hospital parking garage. They haven't even got home yet. The action continues. The characters are well written. The plot has many twists and turns. They finally find out who is out to kill them. They are getting ready to finally attend the hearing and they are kidnapped, drove into the desert and the van is set on fire with them inside. The solution is good. You never saw it coming. I can't wait for her next book.
Excellent. I felt like I'd met some of the characters in a different book. The story opens with multiple bombs going off in a federal courtroom. Fortunately, Judge Adele Weston discovered one of the bombs just in time for everyone to escape. It seems like someone is targeting her, but the question is who? and why? US Marshal Brian Forrester is assigned to keep Adele safe, but disaster seems to keep following them.
I really enjoyed this story. Once you start reading it you just can't put it down. I love the books I have read in the past by this author but this one might be my favorite.
Adele is a Judge that someone wants to get rid of, and they keep trying over and over to do just that. Brian and the other US Marshalls are going to make sure that they don't succeed.
This book has great characters, an awesome story line and will keep you on the edge of your seat from start to finish.
Action, Mystery, and Suspense from beginning to end. Story starts out with an explosion in Judge Adele Weston's courtroom. Was she the target or Tomas Garcia? Head of a drug cartel. Enters US Marshall Brian Forrester tasked with protecting the judge. Get ready for an on your edge of the seat nail bitter. Kudos to the author👏👏👏👏
This was such an exciting book! I immediately got caught up in the suspense of being on the run with Adele and Brian. The fact that they didn't know who was trying to kill Adele made it even more exciting. Though I figured out some of the mystery, I didn't know how the prices would fit together. This is a page-turner that Love Inspired Suspense readers will love! I highly recommend it!
Another suspenseful Terri Read novel. Enjoy her latest, frightening story of a judge who was forced to continue to battle attempts on her life due to presiding over a drug cartel leader and his son. It was exciting and truly a page turner. Pick this one up!
This is a very short read, but so fast paced and so interesting. I loved how it got going right from the start. I’m not a fast reader but this only took me a couple of hours because I couldn’t put it down!
Why was Adele forced to hide? Who was responsible? Was it Garcia, Sere, the senator, Irene Overstreet? It will keep you wondering and unable to put down until you get the answer.
I couldn't put this book down. It kept me turning the pages to see what happened next. I loved the characters and how they related to each other. I can't wait for the next book in the series.
The author does a great job on describing the characters, as well as their relationship together. Each event that occurs is given in great detail without going into too much detail.
Forced to Hide was a fantastic story! A judge, a US Marshall and a crazy bomber. Make for a great face paced read. And the ending, took me totally by surprise.
Another action packed and couldn't put it down book from Author Terri Reed! She draws you in with action and keeps you there with great characters and storyline from the first page to the last. Forced to Hide includes characters from her Forced to Flee book. It's not necessary to read Forced to Flee first. However I highly recommend both books. I can't wait to read more books about these US Marshals especially Sera's story. I received an Advance copy of the book from the author. I was also given a copy from a friend who loved it and wanted to share her copy. All opinions are my own.
