Carina Melody Grand never had an easy life. She has worked hard to overcome her past, and made a successful career for herself as a lawyer. But when one of her clients brings her to the attention of billionaire music producer Daniel Collins, Carina finds her past coming back to haunt her....
Daniel is rich, handsome and adored by millions....And the last person on earth Carina wants to get involved with. A dark secret from years ago links her to the Collins family. And the last thing she wants to do is dig up old ghosts - despite her attraction to the handsome billionaire.
But when a dinner date leads to a steamy affair, Carina soon discovers that Daniel has secrets of his own. Is she just a pawn in his game of revenge? Or will the two compose a love song that can banish their painful past once and for all?
Kyra’s love for big and energetic dogs is unrivalled although her passion for writing contemporary romance comes first! A foodie with a knack for whipping up different cuisines inspired by both her heroes and heroines. She loves to travel the world and ensures she visits her family and friends. An outgoing, fun-loving, romantic who is sociable and generous to a fault. She enjoys reading and taking long walks with her pets. She also loves a good debate, can be picky in her choices and sometimes confrontational in her approach. Kyra indulges in all things romance, humour, music and current affairs. She despises crime-action, procedurals, historical content, dishonesty and too much cleanliness. Her romantic experiences before marriage continually inspire her writing.
3.75 It was a quick and enjoyable book with a fascinating and endearing female lead. Carina was my constant favorite. When life slammed her hard, she always rose back up with a strategy and determination.
Summary: Carina is first seen at her office, where she is being summoned by her boss to a meeting. On the way, she believes she passed Daniel Collins, the heartthrob millionaire and ex-band member that she doesn't want to run into. For Carina, he is the embodiment of everything from her past—her teenage crush, the horrible incident that she does not want a reminder of. Hopefully, Daniel will not recognize her; it has been ten years.
Plot and Writing: The plot, even though it is a romance between a rich guy and an ordinary girl, is anything but predictable. I loved all the twists and turns that this story took. Though it is brilliantly written in third person, we usually see things from Carina's perspective. And this is where I disagreed with the author since I felt that more chapters from Daniel's point of view were necessary. I needed to know why his character's arc was the way it was. Daniel is Carina's past crush, on whom her feelings develop, but for Daniel, it felt like insta-romance.
Characters and Romance: Carina's never-give-up attitude is what I found most inspiring. She has been in situations from which many people cannot recover, and each time she picks herself up, plans logically, maps out all her options and risks, thinks realistically, sometimes stretching her luck, puts on makeup, and gets herself out. I loved everything about her.
Daniel's character, however, was a bit difficult for me to map, mostly because we do not get enough of his POVs.
Carina's love for Daniel was heartfelt and beautifully expressed, and they also had a cute chemistry. However, as I pointed out above, Daniel's love for Carina needed a bit more of an initial spark. The conclusion was done very well.
Recommendation: Although this is my first book by the author, I liked the writing, the plot, and Carina so much that I am going to hunt down Kyra Radcliff's other books on Goodreads. I recommend this book to all the adult romance readers out there, especially those who are looking for less spice.
I received an ARC for this book in return for my honest opinion.
“Usually, she enjoyed the admiring glances that came her way thanks to her more than average good looks. With her long blonde hair and stunning figure, a second look was a given.”
Carina Grand has spent the lasts ten years trying to forget the past and building a new life for herself. She’s changed, inside and out and has come a long way into building a comfortable life for herself. In the present, Carina works as a junior solicitor at Layton and Haddock Law firm, and she’s great at her job, with great future perspectives.
“Daniel Collins was popular enough to define his own style. But it was too rebel-without-a-cause for Carina’s taste.”
Ten years ago, Daniel Collins was a superstar. He was the lead singer, bass player and songwriter of worldwide famous band DC. After the incident that changed so many lives, Daniel has lost his will to perform and has since built a very successful Music Label that represents numerous successful artists.
“She still couldn’t be absolutely certain if he had recognised her, unlikely as it was. How could he have known she was the woman he most likely believed had almost broken up his home?”
Ten years ago, Daniel and Carina knew each other… Ten years ago, life was easier and the future seemed bright and predictable… until it wasn’t. How much can a family drama, impact these two people? How diferente are they from the people they were before? And are they ready to face what really happened back in the day?
“My instincts tell me that he can take it. He’s a man. Proud and insufferable, but nonetheless a tough man. Not as tough as you, perhaps, Carina,’ she added with a smile. ‘It’s very generous and forgiving of you. Pity he doesn’t deserve it.”
This book had soooo much drama! So many twists and turns… at times it was hard to love the characters, to be honest.
Carina, was so strong, courageous and kind. But at times she came out a little bitter. Almost like she was out of character. And Daniel? He was all over the place… plotting a revenge against a girl that supposedly wronged his family 10 years ago and paid a hefty price for it.
As much as I love a good twisty love story, I just couldn’t get behind Daniel’s plotting and Carina’s “love you no matter what, no matter how poorly you treat me” storyline.
“You’re constantly in my thoughts. I hardly sleep. Carina, you’re in my blood. I only know that I literally burn for you”
I've been unexpectedly busy these past weeks, so I finished this book behind schedule. But right after I pick it up again I devoured it! I can't believe that the best part was already waiting for me.
This was a good and short read with a strong female lead that holds a past and secret that greatly affects her life and the people involved. I loved how it added to the impact of the story and open more perspectives and angles that the readers must pay attention to. It is not just the usual romance because it will take several twists and turns and keeps its reader guessing about the truth. It's full of different layers involving secrets, hidden motives, trauma, big revelations, lies, doubts, vengeance, betrayals, attractions, and many more that unexpectedly work well together and help in delivering a great and promising storyline. And I cannot emphasize enough how much I enjoyed the revelations and the court moments that part is such a page turner.
I have mixed feeling about the female lead, I love that she exhibits a different version of herself at a time of necessity, she's clever, firm, and strong but has a soft heart for the person she loves. Well, the male lead can be tough, but at least he found his way, and his development was also good.
They are just times when I think the events suddenly shift and things happened so fast. But it's a short book so that's given at some point. However, I think the writing, transition, and execution can be better. Nonetheless, it's still good, I enjoyed it and recommend it to those who are looking for a short read with angst, second-chance romance, billionaire, and more twisty elements.
Thank you downhill publications for giving me a copy in exchange of honest review 💕
Carina is an upcoming lawyer, beautiful, smart and stylish who loves her job and has time for nothing else. Until, a customer appears at the office she works, who asks only her to serve him. 🎶 Daniel is a young, famous billionaire with gorgeous gray eyes. He is the man all women dream about. But he only wants Carina and will do anything to seduse her..
When Carina finally meets Daniel in her office everything around her disappears, everything gets dark and her past, she tried so hard to hide, starts to haunt her again...
What can I say about this book, when you think you are reading just another romantic story suddenly everything changes.. One twist follows another.. I really couldn't put it down. If you want a book that has enemies to lovers, suspense, revenge, second chance and it is spicy enough then you should definitely read this book! I really want to spend my winter nights reading books like this! Thank you @dawnhillpublications for this copy!!
This book introduces Carina, an up and coming lawyer and Daniel, a billionaire music producer. A scandal from ten years ago connects them. A scandal Carina has gone to great lengths to run from but old wounds are re opened when Daniel comes back into her life.
I enjoyed the plot! The way the details were revealed to the reader was very well done. I constantly wanted to read more just to catch information I was missing.
I’m a big old softy and also want to say I loved the grand gesture (the song) at the end. That was cute as crap!
I struggled through a couple of things though.
- The spicy scenes were so cringey. I truly felt like I was reading one of the 90’s Mills and Boons books I stole from my mother as a teenager. The descriptive language was over done in these scenes.
- Speaking of spicy scenes, the only sex scene in the book was one where the MMC used sex as a weapon against the FMC. It would have been nice to have another such scene when the pairing got to an actual healthy place.
- The relationship between Daniel and Carina never fully sat right with me. She seemed to instantly love him and I couldn’t quite tell why. He was often times distant, cool and in his way did try to guilt her into a physical relationship she wasn’t ready for. He seemed to equally hate her and lust after her but I didn’t really buy it when he suddenly found himself ‘in love.’ I could’ve done with more intimate scenes (emotionally intimate) between them and more of his POV.
- Daniel’s reaction to his parents marital issues felt very immature to me. The way he responded was like a teenager not a grown man.
All in all, I found there were pros and cons for me while reading this book!
Thank you to Dawn Hill Publications for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for my honest feedback.
"Missing Melody" was a quick read with two of my favorite subjects - love and a bit of mystery! There was also exciting drama, keeping things pretty fast paced. I loved that I didn't get bored, and with all the surprises around every corner, it kept me on my toes guessing what would happen. Once started, I didn't want to put this book down! The story has a strong female as the main character who is "average" and a billionaire man who shows up and seems stuck up and rude. Unlike your average ordinary girl meets billionaire man love story, this book had surprising twists and turns that kept me wanting more. I also appreciated that this romance wasn't full of "spice". Overall, I really enjoyed the read and will be looking out for more books by Kyra Radcliff.
Honestly, it took me some time to get into the story. But the intriguing issue from the past of the the female protagonist kept me from turning its pages.
I also liked that it has a balanced female main chatacter. Carina, is clever and firm with a soft heart.
In general, Missing Melody is a good short read. The characters are mostly likeable. I recommend this if you are into a quick romance read with a revenge subplot and some spicy pages in it.
Lastly, thanks to Shivani of Dawn Hill Publication for a copy of Missing Melody in exchange of an honest review.
While this was a quick read, this one missed the mark for me. I will say, I've never been taken by the Billionaire Romance subgenre, so that could contribute to why this one wasn't for me. I do LOVE enemies to lovers, but this one didn’t feel like a fit for that genre.
TL:DR; Carina is essentially written as a naïve, childlike, juvenile, innocent virginal child that happens to be of age and hot as hell and everyone wants to have sex with her. Before I knew she was written like that, I was disappointed that there was ONE penetrative sex scene for the ‘Steamy Romance,’ and the lack of descriptions of characters, were sparse and they were 2 dimensional. Besides blonde and blue eyed, everything we’re told Carina is, she acts the complete opposite. Daniel had weak motivations and the twist and turns in the story were nonsensical at best. The dialogue was clunky and unnatural. You’ll enjoy this story a lot more if you don’t take it seriously and maybe had to read it if you were stuck at the airport or something.
Carina Grand is an upcoming Junior Solicitor at Layton & Haddock practicing law. She is described as beautiful (like literally first page we're told about her "above average" looks that garner attention no matter where she goes. A real blonde hair blue eyed beauty), intelligent and hardworking. One day suddenly, she is assigned to a case representing a rising musician and is forced to work with Daniel Collins, the billionaire singer, songwriter, record label owner bad*ss whom she shares a murky past with. The story follows the unfolding of their relationship and navigating the shocking turn of events that plague Carina's past and Daniels family.
To be perfectly frank, I have so many issues with the story. But I'll start off with what worked:
- The story moved along fast. It's pretty short at 184 pages but I could easily finish in a day, and in one sitting. So it was riveting enough for no breaks. - The initial angst and yearning between Carina and Daniel, while unearned was written nicely ... That's it.
What didn't work for me or gave me pause:
- Carina Grand is actually Melody Harper. Melody used to be a maid at the Collin's household ten years ago. She was thrown to the wolves of the media when Daniel's family (insert spoiler about the murky past). She then decided to "change her name, appearance and re-enroll in uni) to get away from the spotlight. My problem here, besides how many times it was said that she "changed her appearance" is that what that entailed, was LITERALLY a dye job, a hair cut and "heavy make up." That's it. Not a nose job, not a silicone facial inserts nothing. Just a trip to Great Clips and Ulta. It made no sense why anyone WOULDN'T recognize her. ESPECIALLY when so many times later in the book, she was only wearing "light" or minimal make up. And, she only went from dark to blonde ("the blondest blonde ever seen" or something like that was said a couple times). It was completely ridiculous. Even worse is that she didn't even relocate. She's STILL in the same area.
- The amount of CRYING Carina does in the book is astronomical. We're told that she's so professional and stoic, but in the same sentence, she's crying or shouting or some outburst or another. One scene she's in court, and one minute she's making the court laugh and being snarky and evasive but then the next she's having an outburst and quivering and staring at Daniel. She spends so much time tearing up or sobbing and when you sit down and think about it, there's really no reason.
- The amount of times characters, namely Carina and Daniel, look up "startled" or their eyes "flew open" or "widening," was so disruptive to the flow of the story. It was incredibly repetitive and annoying. We were told so many times who "Brian was" that I wanted to pull my hair our. Another thing that was repeated was "...the scandal that rocked.." and "...eyes collided." So much repetition in such a small book. We get that Mrs Gentry is "kindly." How rare can a smile be if it's done three times in two paragraphs!?
- The book was sparse on details on a lot of things. We were told multiple times that Carina had long blonde hair and blue eyes and a slim figure that also had curves but not much else except for the occasional mention of clothing. Some characters that big roles in the story only got described as "older and kindly." Daniel is supposed to be a Billionaire but besides the inordinate amount of time he's free, the one mention of a McLauren and a helicopter, it would be easy to forget he's rich. They spend time at a seaside cottage and I didn't see anything about the waves on the beach or nothing. Just a small table with candles in the middle of room inside.
- The book was sparse on a lot of things including characters outside of Carina and Daniel. There were times where I wondered "Where are their friends from before this story takes place?" Carina eventually adds Clive and the Gentry's and I guess Xirena but Daniel was mentioned as having friends but I didn't see any. The characters felt like caricatures, two dimensional and flat. I didn't feel like they had lives outside of tending to Carina's crying.
- Which brings me to this; why did everyone's every single action, depend on making Carina happy or satisfied? Why would a partner at a law firm personally chaperone a meeting between a billionaire family friend and this woman who've worked for the family for 3 months? Why would a judge personally stop proceedings and baby her while she's crying in court as a witness? Why does Clive exist only to be short, ask her out and help her "disappear?"
- Even more along that train of thought, at around 70%, why did the story change to "We must all pitch it to keep Daniel's parents from divorcing?" It was completely asinine. Like, who cares if they divorce?! The reasoning, because Daniel would be hurt, was ridiculous.
-Which brings me to this point; Daniel, a BILLIONAIRE, took 10 YEARS to find a woman who got a hair cut and a smoky eye and stayed in the same CITY, so he could turn her into his sex slave while thinking this was a woman who SLEPT with his UNCLE and possibly FATHER?! That was such a weak motivation. At the end of the day, his family didn't really lose much. But he was harboring some broken family deal for a decade. But let him tell it, he initially didn't want to have her as a sex slave. He just blurted that out. Then what the heck did you want to do!? So confusing.
- All throughout this book we are told Carina is so strong and so smart, but no lawyer/ solicitor would do half this shit. She was actually incredibly dumb. Of her work, we got to see her read one page of a contact that took weeks for her to reach out to someone else in the industry that knows music contract work. WEEKS.
- Carina and Daniel were written very immaturely. Their ages weren't explicitly mentioned but Carina has been out of law school I believe 5 years, so no more than 30 I would say. Daniel was touring and away from the family home 10 years ago when Melody was a maid so he's probably at least 40ish. Which makes it all the worse that they each spend the entire book crying, moping and being rude. In my notes I wrote, "Either these characters are written like children, or BY children." and I mean that as no shade to the author but this is exactly the kind of writing I can find on Wattpad from a 15 year old who knows nothing of how having a career or being out in the world is.
-Carina is said to be hardworking but she is literally HANDED EVERYTHING. I'm not sure if this is explained away as since she's so nice and has had a hard life in the foster system, that now she deserves everything easy, but it was so hard to read. Clive finds her a job in ONE day, Carina gets the new job the SAME DAY (not sure why she just JUMPS straight to MAID but whatever), and in 3 months, gets a job at Mr. Gentrys prestigious law firm AS A MANAGER. All of this based on Clive and Layton's glowing praise. And to top it off, SHE GETS TO STAY LIVING AS SOME SORT OF ADOPTED DAUGHTER TO THE GENTRYS AT THEIR ESTATE FOR FREE. I was so perplexing!
-Carina was everything opposite of what she was described to be: she's hardworking, but doesn't work for shit, she's strong, but cries every third paragraph, she's smart but clearly can't understand what a conflict of interest is in the context of being A LAWYER and signs her name to papers WITHOUT reading them, wants to keep their relationship discreet, but talks hour long walks through the streets of London, professional but pouts and cries all through work, engages in conflicts of interest and has outbursts in court. She refused a white gold diamond bracelet because she “wasn’t the kind of girl who can be bought, and Daniel isn’t used to that,” but she said okay in the same breath to be whisked away on his helicopter to a private beach house!
- This was pitched to me as a "Steamy Romance." I will say, there was a LOT of angst and build up even though that should have started later in the book and not page 3. I really do not like Insta-Love but that's pretty much what this was. There was only ONE penetrative sex scene, and it was sullied in my opinion because Daniel was manipulating Carina and two sentences after they orgasm, he confronts her about the murky past. Even if that didn’t happen it was ONE page long. That’s it. This was around page 80 or so. So for 100 plus pages there nothing but hot kisses. I’m actually flabbergasted by this to be honest because sometimes, story errors, and whatnot can be overlooked for the SPICE but there was very little. -Carina is written as a CHILD. Like, I cannot stress this enough. She’s babied by everyone, including all the men that think shes HOT. She’s given everything, she’s naïve (a naïve lawyer, like what!?) and cries all the time. When it’s revealed that she’s hesitant towards sex and doesn’t know what an orgasm is after having one, is because she was SA’d by her foster dad and that’s why shes “technically not a virgin,” I was grossed out. Because she’s essentially written as an innocent, naïve, honest and kind child that everyone wants to have sex with. Her mannerisms are even childlike. And sure you can make a case for her being stuck in those mannerisms as a trauma response for when she was assaulted as a child but that’s not what was going on here, and it was so very very weird.
- There was talk of witty banter and verbal dueling but there was none to be found. If anything, the authors over usage of SAT words was a huge turn off. The dialogue was clunky and cringey at times and very unnatural. "He'll need to assimilate everything he heard today" and "Carina attempted to assimilate the import of his words," like... what even!? The amount of stammering and stuttering and “um” that ALL of these characters do was so damn ANNOYING.
- Small things also took me out of the story. Why was there so much coffee consumed and not tea since they're British after all? And why was lawyer and law firm used so much, and other times solicitor and barrister were used. Little things like that nagged at me. Carina was described in one passage as holding an “elegant feminine briefcase,” and I had to ponder wtf does that even look like? She was described so many times as elegant but nothing to show for it. She rubbed Daniel’s feet at an earlier part of the book unprompted and I was so thrown because why would that even make sense? Why was there no paparazzi around at all and why were they mentioned only at the end of the book at being possibly on the look out for them?! And lastly, a line from her first boss was so weird. He said he didn’t think she was the kind of girl who would attract a stalker. WHAT DOES THAT EVEN MEAN!? He also said some wild shit like “…Please ask your boyfriend to desist. It’s demoralizing for the rest of us who aren’t in an equally amorous relationship.” LMAO!
Because of how ridiculous the story was, by time the ending came along, I just was okay with it. I really do not like song lyrics in books, as it adds NOTHING for me, and repeats itself because that just how songs are structured but it really was a decent end in this context.
Thank you to Dawn Hill Publications for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for my honest feedback. Even though the story wasn’t my vibe, I really do appreciate it!

This was a great and well written book!! I loved how the book took surprising turns in the storyline!! Every time I though i knew what was going to happen I was WRONG!!! I absolutely love that because I hate when I can predict what was going to happen and it never happened in this story!!
This book kept me on the edge of my seat! The tension between the characters is great and it definitely packs the spice 🌶️🌶️🌶️. However, i found this book to be so short that there was parts of the book that the characters seemed to change out of the blue. I would have like to see a little more detail. The main character describes herself as stubborn and unmoving in her ways yet there is multiple times where she gives up her original stance in an instant. Overall, this book is a good fast read, that can be read all in one day. It's definitely a little bit morally grey, so just expect that going into it! Thank you to Dawn Hill publications for sending me a copy to review!
I know I usually put triggers here, but it’s at the bottom
Just because this isn't my cup of tea, doesn't mean it isn't yours!
While I enjoy a good billionaire, and a conniving mafia man, I don’t enjoy my “nice” MMC men to be written as if they are terrible men in an organized crime family. Daniel felt entirely too icky for me. He read like a mafia man, even though he was just some musician who decided to run a record company. Carina was in hiding, and by hiding I mean she colored her hair and wore extra makeup. But at least she changed her name, kinda. But Daniel finds her. She had every right to be in hiding. Except she was taking the blame for someone else’s secret. But instead of telling Daniel that, she continues to lie and put herself in danger. To protect him? That just didn’t make sense to me. Daniel expects to be given whatever he wants, or he takes it. And that includes kissing her after she insisted that his advances needed to stop. Continues to threaten her job if she says no. And don’t get me started on the manipulation. So much about him was unenjoyable, and I toed the DNF line because of it. But then, I found my reason to DNF. I stopped reading mid sentence. Again, I enjoy a good, terrible man in an organized crime family, but since that is NOT the character Daniel plays…I was not meant to like this one.
I want to make sure readers are aware in case it’s a trigger, the ONE steamy scene, in a book described as a “steamy romance” was manipulation.
This is a quick red. It’s about Daniel who is a former singer , who helps produce albums and other singers make their music. Who runs into a women Carina who is working at law firm doing contract. Twist and turns he wants. Revenge for what he thinks she did to his family years ago and she still is crushing on the man he was 10 years ago. Things I liked the chemistry they had the way he worked to earn her trust. The back and forth. She strength and ability to have witty come back to his advances. Things I didn’t like the constant round about half truths she knew what happened and kept it yet expected him to just believe she didn’t do yet when situation is revered she beloved the papers not him. Also the fact that he was basically going for revenge like a child for something if he truly had an investigation done would know she didn’t do any of it. Fact that they pushed fact of mothers infidelity to blame the father because he wasn’t around she lonely. Always two sided she didn’t have sleep with his brother. She was just as much to blame should have spoken to her husband . Should they work on their marriage yes but fact is she did do it. Communication is alway a fact they lacked it and kept saying the opposite of how they felt. This book is very well written. It does have a HEA .
Missing Melody is the 1st book from Kyra Radcliff I've read and will looking foward to her another books.
I already like the plot from the beginning of the book until the end of the book. It's a short read like it has 134 pages and you can finished it in one sitting but for me, i need more than one sitting to finished this book cause still dealing with college's stuff 🤣.
This book isn't just a romance book but it has more than romance to tell the readers like the dramas behind the two characters and....some spicy scenes 🌶 I love the chemistry between Carina and Daniel, they're so good like some parts they have heavy discussion and then another parts they have cute romance moments. I really enjoyed the book because I want to know what happened 10 years ago between them! Also, I don't expect the twists and I really enjoyed the story!
I love Daniel so much, he's not that bad. He kindly soft to Carina, he's caring and loving Carina. He even writes song for Carina, OMG that's so asdfghjkl😭
So, if you like romance-angst book with slowburn and billionaire vibes i think you'll love this book ❤
Carina Grand, now a lawyer, struggled through childhood, going from one foster family to another. When she ran away from her last foster family, she had to take several jobs to survive and to go to school. One of those jobs was being a maid for the Collins family. Daniel Collins, once a leadsinger, now owner of his own recordlabel, is the son of the family Carina used to work for. They didn’t have a lot of contact then, Daniel was always busy with music, being in tour. But whenever he was around, he was always friendly towards her. Now several years later, they meet again and Daniel pursues Carina. She has her doubts he is being sincere, but eventually she gives in. But then all the secrets come out… Will time heal their wounds and will time reveal the truth?
This is my first book by Kyra Radcliff. In the beginning I needed some time to really get in to it, but then the story really becomes addictive. You just want to know what happened in the past and how they are going to get over this. This book has all the emotion, drama, steam… I would recommend this book if you like billionaire romance, enemies-to-lovers.
Before I started reading the book, I searched for it on Kindle and read the blurb. I’ll be honest, the front cover didn’t draw me in and the same with the blurb. I didn’t get the feeling of ‘I need to read this now’
But, I gave the book a go. It’s true what they say: don't judge a book by its cover! I would have missed out on a really good book.
I loved the book! I read it in 2 days, stayed up a lot later to keep reading!
It’s a slow burner, enemies to lovers, lies were created and the characters have history. There’s 2 POV, more of the FMC (female main character), but I love different Point Of Views, it really got me to understand how both the characters were feeling and hurt they were.
There’s a couple of moments where things get steamy. 🌶
My heart felt crushed at one stage, but as I kept reading there were heartwarming moments, that I felt I could have cried and found myself smiling and that is really what won me over. I love it when an author can pull on those feelings!
This is a classic, addictive romance that expertly blends wealth, scandal, and a dangerous shared past. The story follows Carina Melody Grand, a successful lawyer who has painstakingly built a life to escape her difficult history. Her carefully constructed world is upended when her work brings her to the attention of Daniel Collins, a billionaire music producer who is the epitome of glamour and the last person she ever wants to see. A dark secret irrevocably ties her to his family, making him a living ghost from a past she desperately wants to forget.
Despite her best intentions, a professional dinner ignites an undeniable attraction, leading to a steamy affair. However, Carina soon realizes that Daniel’s interest may be more than simple desire. The central, gripping question becomes: Is she just a pawn in his elaborate game of revenge? The novel thrives on this tension between passionate chemistry and underlying suspicion, promising a journey where love and vengeance are intimately entwined. The ultimate hope is that they might compose a love song powerful enough to overcome the pain that binds them.
The storyline of this book is good. I felt some adjustments to the MC’s would be beneficial so the ending is more believable. It’s an incredibly wordy book that I wish would be cut down on the filler stuff so other things can be added: more of Daniel’s POV, Carina’s past, their time together, etc.
I don’t fully understand how Carina, a woman who has been abused in the past, chooses to look past a sometimes physically harmful and always verbally abusive partner. And the fact that Daniel magically changes to be the perfect spouse when he wasn’t that almost the entire book? Ehhh not believable. His anger as an adult based on his parents lies and infidelity seems outrageous so when that’s resolved it doesn’t feel like enough to make up for what how he’s been acting. I would expect his behavior from a young teen maybe, not a grown adult.
More thoughts to come. But hopefully not. Didn’t love this one.

Missing Melody was my first book I’ve read by Kyra, and I enjoyed it. It was kinda slow in the beginning but picked up pretty quickly. Carina, aka Melody, is working for a law firm when the last person she expects- or wants, comes in. It’s been 10 years since she’s last seen Daniel, when she was forced to change her name and appearance because of what his family claimed. Daniel, a music producer- and a former singer, has been looking for Carina for years now, he wants revenge for the scandal she caused his family. His plan is to seduce her and then destroy her. But what he doesn’t plan for is fall for her, she’s nothing like his mom portrayed her to be. And when he realizes the truth, it might just be too late. This was a good read, one I read from cover to cover in one sitting. I loved the support Carina found in Elenor and her husband, and how at the end even Daniel’s mom stepped up to help her son win back the girl he loved!
Missing Melody is my first book by Kyra Radcliff and I think it’s safe to say it probably won't be my last.
Missing Melody is a romance novel that has some strong elements such as hidden agendas, toying with feelings/emotions, and some pretty steamy scenes 🌶
There were definitely some layers in this book and slowly through the book the layers are peeled. It’s only then you find out the reasoning behind Carina’s and Daniel's behaviours and character.
I thought their relationship was a unique one, there were some sweet moments and some heavy discussion moments.
I can’t say I liked the ending though , it rather left me angry and unsatisfied however I think I would be in the small minority who didn’t like it. I think you will either love it or dislike it.

Blurb: Carina Melody Grand never had an easy life.
My thoughts: such a good steamy story with tons of family secrets. Carina is hard not to like. I have a thing for the British billionaires! Super emotional and you feel for both of these characters.
🎼🎶 Review time 🎼🎶 ❤️Missing Melody❤️ Author: Kyra Radcliff Publisher: @ It sounds like little slow in the beginning but I like the slow-burning romance between Carina Melody and Grammy-award-winner Daniel Collins. I enjoy the lines when Daniel expresses his feeling and is easy enough to let her know how much he desired her💓 that was all too real. Carina wins my heart that how she overcomes her past. Somewhere I hated Daniel for the things he do but in the end, I fall for him. This book includes spicy scenes as well 🌶️🌶️ But the end is based on little suspense and will break your heart. I love the way he sings a song for the carina. It's overall a good read.
"Unputdownable, marvelous, and slow-burning romance with a strong female character you need in a one read"- Pine Reads.
It took me a few chapter to really get into the story, also because I wasn’t used to the author’s style since it was my first time reading something by her, but once you’re a few chapters in the story really gets gripping. Missing Melody is a romance book with a revenge subplot that lets you eager to know what happened in the past between Carina and Daniel.
I initially couldn’t bring myself to like Daniel as i felt bad for Carina who’s a really sweet and successful young woman, but things got better throughout the story, after all i can always enjoy a good slow burn with a few spicy scenes🔥❣️

Thank you to @dawnhillpublications for emailing me this book to read on my #kindle. I wasn't sure what to expect since I hadn't heard of the book before but it turned out to be a good steamy romance. The book is about a woman who changes her identity after a huge scandal & a singer who gives up singing because of the scandal. Years later they meet again and start a romance. The author does not reveal the details of the scandal until midway through the book so you're kept guessing and it makes you want to continue reading. I thought the book was well written and I did enjoy reading it. If you're looking for a steamy romance with lots of drama, I would definitely recommend this book to you.

It was a nice book with some steam. I haven’t read anything like this. Carina is such a strong woman, she just keeps going no matter what she has to endure. At times I found it annoying how weak she seemed in situations with Daniel, but after reading the whole book I totally get it. Daniel was surprisingly caring and human. I loved how he wrote a song for Carina.
All in all, I really enjoyed reading this book. I would have loved to see more of Daniels thoughts, especially towards the end. But that’s a small thing. The epilogue was absolutely perfect.
The writing in this book is just so beautiful, its more mature and sophisticated than what I usually read I loved how it flowed. This book switches between third person and first person and usually I don’t like third person but something about this writing made it so easy to follow. I also appreciated that this wasn’t a typical cutesy love story but instead it was twisty with a mystery element. The big secret eluded to throughout this book always kept me engaged and wanting to unravel the secret. Overall, I really enjoyed this book and it was a fun read. Although, sometimes Daniel (MMC) did get my nerves because he made a lot of threats which I found annoying at times.
Billionaire romance with a side of revenge. TW: talk of childhood sexual abuse
This was the first billionaire romance I have read and although I found it a quick and enjoyable read, it missed something for me. I didn't love the characters - aside from Sir Basil and Eleanor, and I just never felt "hooked". With that said, the writing is simple, which makes it a book you can easily finish in a sitting. I was expecting more spice from this but to be honest, I would likely only rate this a 1.5 or 2/5 on the spice level.

The emotional rollercoaster journey of both Carina and Daniel makes you fall in love with them and will steal your heart. All the supporting characters are compelling and realistic. Exceptional storytelling and narration with a keen eye for detail connect you to the story. An exciting read with a heart-warming climax. I loved the author's skilful depiction of Carina's complicated past, the contract that explained the problematic clauses, touching revelations and song verses. The book contains table-turning situations, game plans, scandal, and unexpected twists that will keep you guessing until the end.
Missing Melody took me a few chapters to get into then I flew through it. At first I didn’t connect with either of the two main characters as the plot was a little rushed and the early spice fizzled.
But as the book progressed, I became more invested in the outcome of this couple. Lots of twists and turns. Some expected, others I could never have predicted! Interesting billionaire trope with a powerful female lead which is always refreshing to read.
I would recommend for the slow burn, the unexpected twists and great ending 💜
